Koko's expression softened when she heard Mellani's words. No, no, she hadn't been mad at the second year. 'You've got nothing to apologise for,' she assured the younger girl, offering her a smile that would be far more normal to see. 'You're doing great. I promise.' She meant it, too ─ Mellani was doing great. She'd be one of their team's star players in a year or two.

She glanced around her and began to fly away from Mellani. That would bug her for a while ─ the thought that the younger girl might have thought she was mad at her. Koko hadn't meant to be so... scary. And still Mellani was right. Trying to score had been a mistake. Accepting that pass had been a mistake. But Mellani had not been at fault for making the effort, for trusting Koko. That was the power of teamwork, after all ─ you had to trust each other.

She would hurriedly fly back to Mellani, mostly within shouting distance, and say, 'You've got this! Score as much as you want ─ and don't worry about passing to me.'

What went unspoken was the fact that Koko had something else in mind. The blonde Slytherin usually did not have malicious intentions, but as she turned away from her teammate once again, she knew this was the right choice. She was in no way the right person to chase the Quaffle. The anger that had pounded in her veins was still there, and that part of her that had told her she was a failure said there were still ways to redeem herself. She would do anything to win. Anything for perfection, for success ─ even if that 'anything' happened to contradict her moral compass, which often told her to avoid violence.

Well, she had been glad when Percival had wreaked violence on the Gryffindors. Surely she could wreak some havoc of her own ─ and if a solid, iron bludger couldn't knock the opposing Seeker off his broom, then most certainly, the anger-fuelled, determined, precise hands of a perfectionistic Keeper could.

A cold smile, very unlike the one she had given Mellani earlier, rested comfortably on her lips as Koko adjusted her trajectory away, away from the Quaffle and the fight for it. She snickered as red-and-gold cloaked enemies fell to the ground. Only if she were a spectator would she have noticed how young they were. Only if she were a spectator might she have felt concern. Instead, her smiled widened, sharpened, and her resolve increased.

Her eyes narrowed slightly as she got closer to Elsian, but her smile remained razor-sharp and wide ─ almost sly, sardonic, completely unlike her usual soft, kind smiles. Yes, it was cheating. She did not care anymore. She leaned forward, reached out her hands and felt them collide with the Seeker. Imagine her surprise when after a string of failures, she succeeded: he went falling to the ground, and Koko let out an elated, nervous giggle. Finally.

The referee called out for her to take a penalty lap, but she only smirked. The Cloud Cobras could handle themselves without her, she was sure. Plus, she had finally succeeded, and it wasn't as if she could fail a penalty lap. Honestly, the consequence for her actions would be a nice break from the action. Maybe Quidditch needed a stronger deterrent against fouls if people like Koko were so fine with the consequences.

She glanced back at the golden hoops she had been neglecting, and she was pleased to find that Mellani had been able to score thirty points for their team. She would have flown over to her, congratulated her, supported her... but alas, her penalty lap was calling.

He watched, wide-eyed, as Rainwood continued to knock two more Gryffindors off their brooms like he was simply here to skip stones. The small boy pressed his lips together into a thin line. His darn loud mouth, jinxing the whole thing. He didn't even want to look at Rainwood at the moment. Was the older boy sneering his trademark sneer, knowing that he had just proven Avery wrong, that his prior success was not luck, but skill (just as Avery had put it)?

Avery huffed and flew closer towards Dan, his main save target. If Rainwood was so good at quidditch, he probably didn't even need Avery's help.

Percival let out a ferocious laugh as bodies continued to fall from the sky. Swatting away the red coated Gryffindors like flies. The boy looked towards Avery Chen, wanting to relish the boy's shocked look before admitting that he was indeed a good beater. Though much to his disappointment and a small kindle of ire, the boy was simply flying away from him. Eyes narrowed as he scoffed, turning his bat in his hand as he looked forwards. He didn't matter anyways. One does not simply mix with sheep.

2. In the role of Beater, if an ALLY dodges a bludger during the round, there is a 20% chance that you catch that bludger with your bat and you send it at a RANDOM enemy target.

Dan cheered! Slytherin was doing amazingly!
And god, Percy was popping off. He decimated Gryffindor with casual ease. Dan was actually impressed!

Dan looked at Gryffindor, and it took a few seconds to find them. This was due to the fact that, to his incredible delight, there were only 2 of them left in the air.
One couldn't help feeling like an invincible overlord with overwhelming power at his disposal when he saw the state of the other team.

But even better- there it was! That damn, dirty golden ball. The Snitch was in his sight! And it certainly wasnt leaving it.

He used a secret signal to his team, ones that changed every match-Had to make sure the other teams didnt catch on, after all- The orders were sent, and Dan would absolutely NEVER let Gryffindor forget this.

Green and red mixed beneath the snowy clouds until there were only two red players left. Mellani scored three times, the game was going good. Slytherin was doing great this game, while Gryffindor must have started feeling desperate ages ago. The light snow on the ground made the players that had fallen stand out even more than usual, like flowers in the snow.

Atlas was happy to see Bea and also seeing Gryffindor members not having it easy, made him more happier. “This game is crazy.“ he said . When Beatrice asked him about his Prefect life, Atlas shifted his eyes to look at his co-prefect. “Prefectship is very, confusing...” he added a sarcastic laughter. “I mean, crazy stuff has happened, and trust me, detention giving is not easy against my peers, BUT, I'll grow up and give them more unimaginable detention, I hope.” he said while ending his statement on a positive note.

Mellani was surprised by Koko's next words. She never thought that someone would actually appreciate her quidditch. "Thanks...", she replied, blushing.

When Koko was flying away, Mellani wondered how she would score all by herself. It was worth a try, though... To Mellani's surprise, the older girl came back to yell encouragement. Mellani nodded, her expression brightening and turning more determined. She could do this.

Mellani tried to grab the quaffle, but the Gryffindor chaser got ahead of her and scored the first 10 points. However, Mellani did not let her get the quaffle again, for two rounds at least. To Mellani's great surprise, she actually managed to score both the times. Although the Gryffindor chaser caught it the fourth time, Mellani managed to catch it the fifth time. She must have been in luck, because she scored again! The first 30 points of her life in quidditch!

xxThe wind, harsh in its cold and cutting with the speed and force with which it sliced at Maggie’s delicate skin, left little to be desired. It wasn’t fun, certainly not, and her hair kept whipping around to pierce her eyes and tickle beneath her chin. Even so, she was sure she looked stoic. Miles above the pitch, still posted regal on her broomstick (eat your heart out, Finn), a member of the winning team. Winning in all except official referee calls, of course. Despite their lack of official title, not yet, it was inevitable. As Maggie wrapped up her penalty lap, swooping towards centerfield in an attempt to make herself useful, she began contemplating her victory speech. ‘Suck on that, bitches’? Was that too forward? Didn’t matter. They had a game to win.

Chasers and Keepers

The quaffle game was the main focus of everyone at the moment. Haley, Dan, Mellani, and Maggie were all flying full speed at the quaffle. Against all odds, Haley was able to grab the quaffle twice and quickly toss in into the rings without contention. However, once a snake grabbed the snitch they would toss it towards Dan and he would try his luck against Rhys. Unfortunately for Rhys, Dan’s seniority was able to help him nail the quaffle every single time. While the quaffle game was at a high, Koko was taking a nice long penalty lap around field as a repercussion for her blatch against Elsian.

Seekers

With only one seeker left on the field, the hunt for the snitch was down to a minimum. Dan, while scoring for the quaffle was able to move closer and closer towards the golden snitch.

Beaters

With no beaters attempting to hit the bludgers out of the skies, the bludgers went off with minds of their own. One bludger set its sights on Rhys who had just entered into the playing field. Luckily, as the bludger made it closer and closer, Rhys was able to narrowly avoid getting hit. A different bludger focused on Avery, but was unable to make it close enough to hit the chaser on save duty.
