17. Arm Wrestle with a Squid Writing

George was walking near the sea. The sand was soft under his feet and the beach was eerily quiet. It was George's favorite place. No people, no noise, just him and the sea. He looked around and noticed movement near the sea a few miles away. George cocked his head. Had someone actually decided to visit this place?

Curiosity took over and he walked towards the movement. When he saw the cause of the movement, he shook his head and blinked. It couldn't be. A squid was on the sand and it was staring at George. In all the years that George had been walking on this beach, he had never even seen a fish, let alone a squid.

"Hey", he said softly. Maybe the squid was lost?

"Hi", replied the squid in a squeaky voice.

George stared at it, gaping. "Did you just speak?"

"You should close your mouth. Flies might get in", the squid replied.

"It can't be...", George said, finally closing his mouth. He decided to try and push the quid back into the sea, pushing it with all his might, but the squid did not budge.

"You can't move me, human. You wanna try an arm wrestle so that I can prove it to you?"

George couldn't believe his eyes. In any case, he wasn't going to be bested by a squid. A squid who was on HIS beach. "It can't be that hard, can it?", he said grabbing the squids arm and doing his best not to make a disgusted sound.

They wrestled throughout the night. Whenever one of them was about to win, the other took over. In the end, both of them got tired.

"Guess that's a tie?", George said, his grip strong.

"Let's resume tomorrow!", said the squid, not ready to give up.

George sighed and got up. He would just have to find another beach. He was not going to wrestle with a squid every night. But every beach he went to, the squid was always there, and the match was always a tie.
