Kaitlyn skipped into the small hall, carrying a bunch of items. She carried a box filled with goodies for her friend, Genny. She had made a nice silver necklace for her friend. It was in the shape of her zodiac sign, Pisces. She even included a sketch of the Pisces star chart. A mixture of freshly baked cookies was neatly organized and labeled inside of the box. She even wrote a poem using her neat script handwriting and dotted the i's with hearts.

Swimming in the sea of darkness overhead.
Jumping out as a pair of fish.

Kaitlyn also carried a tray of freshly baked blueberry scones she made earlier in the day. A pair of yellow tulips were placed behind her ears. She looked around, realizing that she was early. She turned a smile to the girl hosting Viva’s party … if she recalled Viva’s best friend. “H-hi. I b-brought s-scones. D-does it m-matter w-where I put t-them?” She asked through her stutter. She would’ve asked about the present, but noticed where the girl put hers, and she placed hers with the others. She gave the girl a shy smile, hoping she wasn't making a fool of herself.

─────Quinn wasn't exactly sure what she should do for Viva's birthday. Quinn felt like she should get her friend a present. After some consideration had Quinn decided to try her hand at making something. Quinn had stuck her present in a box and then wrote a message for Viva.

Happy Birthday Viva,
Your moving on to a new age.
Here is a present from me,
to remind you of when we first met.
I hope you enjoy it! And Happy B-day again!

Quinn put colorful wrapping paper around the box then had taped the message to the box. Now Quinn was standing near the small hall biting her lip. I hope Viva likes the present. Quinn hoped. Quinn stepped into the room and stopped again. The room had been decrorated really well. Quinn thought the balloons were a good touch. A smile light up Quinn's face when she saw a familiar person standing with a plate full of blueberry scones.
"Kait!" She squeeled. Quinn ran over to her "Kwill" pal. Kaitlyn was smiling at the girl who had told Quinn about the party. Quinn racked her brain trying to remember the girl's name. I think it started with a K. Quinn thought. Maybe Kayla? Quinn wondered. Quinn brought her head back down to earth and held her present for Viva. Quinn turned to the girl-maybe Kayla-and smiled.
"Er-hi. I'm Quinn. Where should I put this...?" Quinn asked holding out her present and trying to sound friendly.

Ophelia was usually extremely awkward at birthday parties. It wasn't that she didn't want to get along with anyone. It was just that she didn't, for some reason. She tried, each and every time, but she never mingled properly and always left early. Today, she hoped, would be different.

Today, was Viva's birthday. The girl who she had met in the Rehearsal Room the other day. The girl who she had shared her secret of singing with. The girl whose beautiful violin playing that she had walked in on. Ophelia shuddered at the memory of awkwardness, but shook it off. They were good now, weren't they?

Ophelia walked to the Small Hall quickly, carrying her two birthday presents. She didn't know much about Viva except about her music, but she hoped that the girl would like what the Ravenclaw had got her. The first, were cute violin themed sugar cookies. These, she had spent time baking herself. The other, was a silver necklace with a violin charm as well as a "G" charm. Both were in a plain white gift bag. They weren't the largest, most fancy gifts, but she hoped that Viva would like still like them.

Inside the Small Hall, Ophelia found three girls, all her age. One she recognized with excitement as Quinn, her friend from the Hogwarts Express. The other was the girl who had organised the birthday party, Kiera. The last was a girl that she had never seen before. I guess that means introductions are needed.

Ophelia stode forward nervously and set the gift bag down where the others were. As she straightened, she met their gazes. "Hi! I'm Ophelia." She hesitated not sure what else to say. "It's great to meet all of you?" The statement came out sounding a lot like a question and Ophelia wanted to groan out loud. Could she have sounded anymore unsure of herself?

Viva leaned closer to the mirror, adjusting the tear-drop shaped pink earrings that hung in her ears. She smiled to herself, humming a random song as she smoothed out the bottom of her dress. Today was her birthday! No one had said anything to her yet... but that was okay. Viva was used to not having a big celebration for her birthday. At home, her parents never made a big deal about it. The best she got would be a gruff "happy birthday" from her father and a quick hug from her mother. They might give her a few books as a present, but that was all. So she wasn't really expecting much as she skipped down the corridor towards the Small Hall, where her best friend Kie had asked to meet her at noon. Her hair flowed out behind her, pink bow fluttering.

Suddenly she stopped, frozen in the middle of the corridor as she gazed into the Small Hall. Many of her friends were in there, and Kie was adjusting beautiful decorations in some of her favourite colours. There were tables with delicious looking food, and a pile of presents. Was this for her? It couldn't be. Could it? An enormous smile blossomed across Viva's face, and she stepped forward, into the Small Hall.

Ophelia smiled as Minnie entered. The Hufflepuff was one that she had met a while ago, during a pet meetup. She didn't know her well, though she still approached her and Quinn. Those two were the only ones she knew well at the small party, and so she was going to stick close to them. This is not going to be awkward. I am not going to make this awkward.

Ophelia opened her mouth to say hello to Minnie and Quinn, inserting herself into their conversation, before she noticed the person who walked into the Small Hall. Finally! The birthday girl was wearing a dress and looking pretty. She glowed with the brightness and confidence of someone who knew that today was their special day.

"Viva! You're here!" The words popped out of Ophelia's mouth before she knew she was going to say them. She walked closer to the birthday girl's side, but managed to stay far enough away so that her best friend, Kiera, could greet her best friend. Then, she realised she didn't really know what she wanted to say. Everyone was probably looking at her now, after she'd gone and said Viva's name so loudly. She had to say something.

Clearing her throat, Ophelia said,"Do we sing now?" in a soft voice.

Kaitlyn placed her tray with the blueberry scones on the table with the other food, not wanting to hold it for the entire party, despite not being told of where to put them. She giggled, as she spotted Quinn enter the room for Viva’s birthday party. “Hi Quinn!” She greeted the Ravenclaw with a warm smile. Then, another girl she didn’t know the name of came in. The girl had greeted them. “Hi,” she greeted the girl, shyly. “I-I’m Kaitlyn,” she replied, quietly. “It’s n-nice t-to me-meet y-you, Ophelia,” she continued, her stutter evident.

A brighter smile formed on her face as Kaitlyn saw Minnie enter the party. Despite feeling a pang of jealousy in her heart when Minnie went to talk to Quinn, she maintained her bright smile to hide her feelings. ‘Don’t be jealous, Katie. So what if Minnie is talking to someone who isn’t you? You’re not her only friend …. Don’t make this awkward because you’re jealous. You’re friends with Minnie, you should just be glad to see her at this party. Besides, you’re here to celebrate Viva, not awkwardly talk with your crush,’ she thought.

Kaitlyn stood with her hands clasped in a way that showed her shy demeanor. To take her mind off of what was going on, the young Slytherin trained her blue eyes on a bunch of decorations nearby. ‘These decorations look nice,’ she admired.

Movement near the door made her look over to find Viva enter the room. Wearing an enormous smile and dressed as pretty as ever. A bright smile crossed Kaitlyn’s lips. “Viva!” she exclaimed, although not as loud as Ophelia. Her voice was rarely loud. She looked to Ophelia. “A-are we a-all ready to s-sing?” She asked quietly.

I smiled as people started to arrive to the birthday party I had set up. Yes! People are actually showing up! I mentally cheered. The gifts people brought all looked so amazing, even tho I couldn’t even see them yet. I was just so very excited, I just really hoped that Viva would love it! “Yup! Right there’s perfect, you can apl just lay your gifts down anywhere around there” I said happily as people brought in Genevieve’s presents. I was so glad that this actually worked. I stood back as people came in and talked to their friends and ate and drank the things I put out. I awaited Vivs arrival, that would definitely be the best part of the whole day. Or night.

Finally, the doors once again opened, and in stepped the birthday girl. “Genevieve!” I screeched and ran towards my best friend. “Happy birthdayyyy!” I shouted, holding out the “y”. I nodded towards all of the guests who were already here. “You know what happens now!” I smirked. “Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Genevieve, happy birthday to you!” I sang with a huge smile on my face. “Happy birthday” I cheered again.

Viva was a little startled at all the noise suddenly around her. There were people everywhere! She heard her name shouted, and turned to see Kie rushing towards her. "Kie," her voice broke for some reason, and she felt like the grin on her face would crack it in two. "Is all this for... me?" Her eyes were crinkled with happiness as she attacked her best friend with a ginormous hug. "Thank you," she whispered in Kie's ear. She knew she didn't need to say much more then that, her friend would understand completely how she was feeling and how grateful she was.

Then she pulled away with one last smile and turned to the other people standing around, smoothing down her pink dress. "Hi everyone," she said shyly, putting an arm around Ophelia's shoulder in a one-arm hug as the girl came to stand next to her. Viva was still grinning like a maniac, blue eyes sparkling with joy. She waved at Katie, then blushed as the guests began to sing "Happy Birthday" to her. Viva looked down, a little self-conscious now that all eyes were on her. Her cheeks were now flaming, just as deeply pink as the bow in her hair.
