He was now slow, like a sloth. He wouldn't be surprised if Raizel could hit him with a spell. And it was just like he guessed. Raizel cast a spell, a Tongue-Tying Spell. So now, not only was he slow, he was also muted. Great! Zach could just laugh. Laugh in pain and laugh in fun, at the same time. He wouldn't expect Raizel to use this spell. Actually, he seldom saw the usage of this spell in the dueling setting. Actually, he never saw it. And it was the first time he experienced the spell. It was super uncomfortable. It felt like his tongue was tied or stiffened, so some words from his mind couldn't come out.

There was nothing much he could do at that moment, except dodge the attack from Raizel. He couldn't imagine what he would look like when he dodged the attack. Would he float in the air while the effect of his backfired spell still happened? It would be super fun to be seen but not to be experienced. He must ask Raizel if he looked fun when dodging once his tongue was free again. But now, he must look at the direction of her wand, then jump!

Slowed and now muted, Zach sure is not having a great time in this practice and Raizel did feel bad for trying to shoot him with a spell but he did say to not to hold back and so she won’t. He looked like he was enjoying this though.

“Get ready.” she thought it’d be nice to give him a warning this time, maybe give him a chance to try dodging away from her spell. “Ventus!” Another third year spell, Zach used it on her and here she is, returning the favor and with a warning too.

Zach’s attempt in avoiding it though looked… weird, funny. He was moving in a slow way that it looked like he did float for a second when he jumped out of the way but unfortunately, still finding himself blown by the strong gust of wind from Raizel’s spell. Even the way he was blown back was in slow motion, that Arresto Momentum taking hold of him fully but it’s probably gonna wear off soon. “Still good?” she asked him while giving her arm some exercise.

It was surprising how her spells are hitting and working yet it doesn’t when it matters the most, wishing that her performance in the next duelling stage will be just as good but considering her luck, she is full of doubt that it will go well.

Raizel was being nice for Zach. The lad, in his slowness, tried to dodge the attack from Raizel. He jumped like he was in a slow-motion video. Very funny indeed. It was like he was possessed by the spirit of sloth. And as expected, the wind from her wand hit Zach successfully. Who could evade the attack when your movement is so slow anyway? Zach was pushed a few meters back and trapped by the swirling wind. His movement was hindered again for the second time.

This duel practice was really intense for Zach. He didn't imagine that it would be this serious. Well, he actually liked this. Then the lad felt the effect of his own Arresto Momentum went off. Not only that, he was now could move his tongue again. "Woah! I really can't speak anything," Zach laughed. Zach quickly stretched his extremities, "Yeah, I'm... uh..." then he felt sore, "Not bad. But also not good. Maybe one or two rounds more so we don't have to go to the Hospital Wings," he said. Really, he didn't want to go there as a patient. He still had something to do.

Zach looked at Raizel, observing her expression in a glimpse. He thought that her mood was better than he had seen earlier. As his grandpa said, exercise could make everyone happy. "Now, be prepared for this, Raizel!" He quickly cast his spell towards her, "Slugulus Eructo!"

Raizel literally jumped away from that spell, eyes widened in surprise and was left staring at Zach who had attempted to put her under that disgusting curse. “Bloody hell…” she muttered, couldn’t believe that Zach tried to use that on her. That spell was probably a lot worse than the curse of bogies. At least that one only gives you a horrible cold-like sickness. Okay, maybe it wasn’t that good but compared to vomiting slugs? Just no. She’ll take being sick than that disgusting spell.

After recovering from that initial scare, Raizel raised her wand, pointed above Zach’s head. “Metelojinx!” She casted and soon enough, dark clouds started forming, filled with sparking energy from the accumulated electrical energy from the thunderstorm. Lightning strikes but Zach remains unscathed. “Just a couple more rounds, yeah?” She definitely doesn’t want to give the Hospital Wing a visit as she has already been there a couple of times now. They are probably so sick of her almost everyday visit and mostly because of the same reasons, her duels, mostly against older years or getting herself in fights that she mostly doesn’t even want to be a part of.

One would think she would learn her lessons but no, she kept going at it, especially the duels. But then again, not like she had been doing a lot of unofficial duels and perhaps, that would be the case for quite some time as she is slowly drifting away from the said sports.

Raizel jumped away from the spell. That was really impressive. "I want to see the effect in duelling," Zach whined. "But lucky for you, Raizel," Zach smirked. Zach had actually seen it when he moderated a race between Slytherin and Gryffindor. However, he had never seen it in duelling. That's the reason why the lad cast the spell.

Then he saw dark clouds forming above his head. They were formed through Raizel's spell-casting. "Not the clouds." It was his favourite spell before his Fall Games. It could turn into a boomerang, and it was very annoying when that happened. Then, the cloud had finished gathering its electricity and struck its lightning. Luckily, it didn't hit Zach. The lad sighed in relief.

Zach nodded. "Yes. A couple more, then let's stop. I'm starting to get tired." Actually, tired and hurt. The pain from Raizel's spells (and his own backfire) really hurt him, and Zach was already exhausted. Was duelling this exhausting? It was just practice! The lad then pointed his wand again. But nothing came to his mind except that one spell.

Zach cleared his throat. "Bless you, Raizel." Zach didn't know why he said that. The eagle cast his spell loud and clear, "Mucus ad Nauseam!" But then...

As much as Raizel would love to see how Slugulus Eructo works in a duel as well, she’d rather not have herself at the end of it. “Alright, I am feeling exhausted as well.” she said back to Zach and while she didn’t take a lot of hits compared to the Ravenclaw boy, moving around and casting spells takes a lot out of you, mentally and physically. Her lighting cloud is still lingering above Zach which is a good sign as he does have a way to blow it back to her if he doesn’t dispel it. Why waste a nicely casted thundercloud.

Again, Zach seems to want to use the disgusting spells today and she was just thinking about how it would be better to be under the Curse of Bogies than the Slug-Vomiting one. Not today though, nope. “Not that one too…” She barely avoided that one and she even tried casting her own spell which was the softening charm but it failed. Raizel had panicked a bit there trying to dodge and cast at the same time, a lesson that she doesn’t seem to learn. Despite her blunder though, the spell didn’t backfire which was great for she doesn’t want to be at the receiving end of her own spell just like what happened to Zach’s.

That’s probably her exhaustion speaking, unable to stay focused and causing her to make the worst decisions in duelling. “That’s not good.” she muttered, shaking her head and standing up straight. Maybe her luck wasn’t as great as she thought it was going for her right now. Eyes fell on her wand, gripping it tightly. “Must’ve fumbled the incantation.”

Zach nodded at Raizel. They both were already tired of the practice. Zach even had a hard time catching his breath. Not to mention that his spell, Mucus ad Nausseam, also didn't Raizel. He wanted to see its effect but he couldn't. Perhaps, it was a sign for them to stop.

How long was he there for this practice? Zach didn't know. He didn't even bother to look at any timekeeping device. He looked at above him. The dark cloud was still there, collecting its electricity to strike him. Without much thinking, he cast the quickest spell in his mind. "Ventus!" He pushed the cloud in any direction. He was drained so thinking might not be the best thing to do.

Zach said to Raizel, "I need to sit." He looked at where his satchel was. It was on the floor, near the wall. He decided to sit there against the wall. He looked into his satchel to see if there was anything he could use. He had this Bruise Removal Paste. "Would this be okay to use?" He asked Raizel. He couldn't think. Well, he actually didn't bother to think. "Uh... It's Bruise Removal Paste."

And there goes the cloud…

All it took was a quick Ventus from the Ravenclaw boy and there it goes, moving away from him and from her. Her gaze followed it for a while, somehow forgetting something important concerning that thunderstorm cloud but she was too exhausted to let the thought linger and even averted her eyes from it and wherever it may have ended.

Raizel slowly followed after Zach, putting her wand back into its wand bag that she probably needed to change at some point, maybe something that’s not in the way or a proper wand holster. Surely her parents would let her have one at least, to properly carry her wand instead of putting it in her pockets or something. “Yeah, that should work.” she answered, looking at the Bruise Removal Paste that Zach has. She should get one of those, considering that she always finds herself in the Hospital Wing. luckily this time, there won’t be any visit.

She can feel the aches here and there from the spell she received which was what? A Ventus? And none after that. “You alright?” Raizel asked the boy, sitting beside him and leaning back on the wall. Sitting down felt good for some reason, reminding her of her own exhaustion. “That was some practice.”

Zach applied the paste to some spots where he felt pain. He was sure that those spots would be bruised if he left them alone. The lad sighed in relieve once the potion's effect started to kick in. "I'm okay," he answered the brown-haired lass. "Do you want some?" Zach handed the paste to Raizel if she wanted to use it too.

"It was pretty intense practice," Zach chuckled. He immediately grimaced in pain due to the pain. The lad sighed, "Once the Christmas Holiday starts, I won't be able to cast any magic." He played with his feet while his mind was wandering. He was too comfortable with magic. He didn't realise a semester would pass this fast then he would live in muggle ways again for two weeks. He missed his family of course, but magic was already part of his life. Then, Zach turned his head towards the lass and said, "I hope you enjoy this practice, Raizel." The lad smiled warmly at her.

However, the sound of thunder followed by the screams of some students could be heard not long after that. "Uh-oh... I think I cast the wrong spell for that cloud..." He grinned. He seldom cast the right counter-spell of Metelojinx. He often blew it to the other side. "I don't have any energy to cast the counter-spell. Can you help me to fix that, Raizel? Please?" He felt guilty but his energy was depleted since he cast too many spells for the practice.

After some time of assessing herself and the bruises and injuries she had gotten from that practice, Raizel could safely say that… she could walk these off. “Think I'll be fine.” Still, a bruise removal paste for herself that she can carry everywhere would be useful considering how she often finds herself in situations where… you often end up in the hospital wings.

In all seriousness, it was like she was bound to end up in that place, one way or another but she knows it was mostly her fault for trying to spar with older people and making reckless decisions that don't end well for her well-being. Aside from that, she often gets into fights by merely existing. She certainly is misfortunate. This practice duel though is probably just one of those few that she actually did a good job surviving and not getting hurt that much. “You probably need it more.” Zach had it rough compared to her on this practice duel. Perhaps her misfortune is contagious in a way. Why can't it latch onto her opponents during official duels though.

“It was alright. Surprisingly enough, I'm still standing. Usually, you would be dragging my unconscious body to the hospital wing already.” She chuckled and then sighing. “That's how most of my practice goes, unfortunately. But anyway, thanks for the duel. I did enjoy it. Been a while since I enjoyed a duel.” She said with a soft smile despite the exhaustion but that quickly faltered.

Either that's because of how she reminded herself how rare it is for her to do well or because of the screams of the unfortunate possible victim of the thundercloud she casted that Zach blew away, no one knows. “Ah, so that's what I was forgetting.” She chuckled rather sheepishly as she stood up, wobbling on her feet before pointing her wand at the cloud. “Meteolojinx Recanto.” And with that, the cloud was gone. “We should probably get going before we get into trouble.” She said to Zach, holding out a hand to help him up from the floor.
