Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor: Match 5
The young girl didn't realize that Eun-ji's offer of a hug was both out of character and a joke. The duel and her frustration were taking up all her attention. "You can give me a hug after we win this duel," she snapped back. When Samantha heard the next thing the older girl said, her expression softened a bit. She hadn't meant to make Eun-ji feel bad. The small amount of guilt she felt stopped her from replying with another sharp remark.
Besides, the duel needed her focus. Having a nice little chat wasn't something her team could afford after such a horrible round. Determined to catch up on the damage and gain more control in the duel, Samantha decided to use a more complicated spell. It was more risky to cast the spell, as she hadn't practiced it a lot and it took a lot of concentration, but it was a great spell. Just before she saw the floor explode near Estelle, a flipendo hit her. Luckily, the next spell missed her and she was still doing okay.
Just before the fog Cassius had created surrounded her, Samantha saw the storm cloud move to the other team. The fog blurred her vision, but it didn't make the brunette stressed at all. It actually calmed her down. After the traumatizing attack from the shadow spiders, Samantha had spent many nights away, glaring into the darkness, afraid of the monsters returning. Those nights had been terrifying but now made her less dependent on her vision. It was a smart move of Cassius, maybe he wasn't too bad of a captain.

Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor: Match 5
Blue in English, Red in KoreanWait…did Sam actually take her offer seriously? Sometimes, Eun-ji wondered whether the younger girl wasn’t too competitive for her own good. She was way too focused on winning and ended up filtering everything else. “No…that was a one in a lifetime offer.” The raven-haired witch retorted, just to make sure Sam wouldn’t actually ask her for a hug if they won. It looked like her ex-captain still had something to add but eventually dropped it for which, Eun-ji was eternally grateful. She was very much capable of criticising herself. She really didn't need any help with that. Alright, let’s focus now.
Thankfully, it looked like the bad luck and mistakes from the previous round didn’t carry into this one. Eun-ji was still feeling a bit woozy from her own hit so she didn’t target anyone specific. The Gryffindors seemed like a slippery bunch so she probably wouldn’t have hit anyone in her current state. Instead, she focused her attention onto the cloud, looming above her own team’s heads. Strangely enough, the nerve-wracking danger wasn’t all that scary to her. The feeling almost reminded her of home to be honest. She was pretty used to such tense atmosphere. That being said, the cloud did pose a threat not only to her but to Sam and Cass as well. She has never been hit by lightning from one of those but she witnessed Dee getting struck and it was not a pleasant sight. Better to return this unwanted gift then…
“Ventus.” This time, Eun-ji didn’t allow herself to be distracted. She was not attacking her friend either so her mind wasn’t as chaotic as it was the first round. And voila, she succeeded! It appeared Kim had a better go this time as well. All in all, it was a good round. Almost everybody succeeded in whatever they set out to do. Except for Estelle of course, but she simply missed. That happened to everybody all the time. At least she didn’t hit herself.

The Gryffindors were truly abandoned by the luck they started off with. Opeila felt more sorry than she thought she would, seeing the younger lions start off so well made her feel quit happy for them. If she thought back to her own second year self in her first duel, a bit of luck would have been boosted her self confidence immensely and seeing it happen to the younger years was nice.
But maybe Estelle got to nervous as her wand backfired, hitting herself with a spell Opeila was all to familiar with and that certainly would keep the young girl occupied for a few moments. On the other side there was Kim, casting a flawless Disarming spell that missed Sam by a few inches and Elsa pushing the storm cloud over to the Ravenclaws once again.
Estelle was not getting a break this time. Her own spell already keeping her occupied, she was now bombarded with cracker jinxes, not only hitting her but also her teammates.
Perhaps this was going to be over quicker than Opeila thought.

Nicky wanted to scream because the duel definitely wasn't going their way and they still had several rounds to go. However, she had to stay focused no matter what. Her team depended on her keeping her cool so she would do her best to keep her head in the game and not get distracted by the fact that her group was not doing so hot. They could still do this. If she just figured out what to do next. And she would figure it out because she was a Gryffindor.

Estelle barely had time to think, bombarded by a second Cracker Jinx. She felt herself beginning to slow, her dodging failing her. She couldn't understand why her body was failing her like this. Then she realised - it was a spell.
Estelle prepared to cast, to retaliate but her distracted, scared state caused her wand to backfire, hitting herself with her own charm. This day really wasn't going to plan.

Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor: Match 5
Blue in English, Red in KoreanOh…did I just jinx the little girl, using my mind? Indeed, it seemed that, where her actual spell failed her, Eun-ji’s previous thoughts worked like a charm. Just when she praised Estelle for simply missing and not hitting herself like she did in the first round, the young Gryffindor had to go and prove her wrong instantly. To be fair, even though it was a good thing for her team, the Raven-haired witch wasn’t maliciously happy. While she did want to win after failing so miserably last time, she didn’t enjoy watching the youngest girl’s suffering. It was fine to lose but one should still have a chance to enjoy the fight to at least some degree. It was a shame really. Eun-ji’s Cracker Jinx was quite strong but Estelle managed to dodge it yet she still ended up hurting herself in the end.
To her surprise, it was the nimble Kim, who failed to avoid her spell. The Ravenclaw frowned unhappily despite her success. Of course, out of the two targets, she just had to go and hit her friend. This duel almost seemed like some kind of cruel joke on her. Still, Eun-ji couldn’t complain. Even if she didn’t succeed fully, she was finally helpful to her own team. Kim’s spell was actually pretty damn perfect too but Sam knew how to navigate the fog and ended up escaping the fate of being disarmed. Eun-ji let out a sigh of relief. Losing a wand in duel was always troubling. As much as she wished the little lion luck, she couldn’t help being glad that her teammate managed to one-up him this time. It was truly not a great round for the Gryffindors.

| ⠀ | Kim hadn't really spoken to his teammates or his opponents throughout the entire duel that had been going on for some time now. But he didn't tend to talk much, focusing was more important to him. Still, his aura was different when it came to those who knew him. Kim almost exuded a 'stay away from me' vibe and a gloominess. There was also a somewhat chaotic feeling emitting from him. He was jolted out of his thoughts when a spell hit the floor and wood shards flew into the air around all of them. Kim glanced over at Estelle, to find their youngest bloody-faced. What a poor unfortunate girl. She probably wasn't used to how brutal dueling could get and Kim couldn't help but feel for her a little. If he'd been his normal self, he would have offered some encouraging words. But as it was, he didn't have any positivity about anything these days, and he didn't like to lie unlike others. Estelle tried to cast Curse of the Bogies at Sam, while Elsa tried to cast Ventus to move the cloud back to the Ravenclaws. The latter was successful as the cloud moved back over again. But Estelle must have suffered from nerves this time around. The girl ended up not being able to even get the spell to go off. In the end, she was able to get the cast off, but it only ended up backfiring onto herself. It really was the worst case scenario taking place. But she was new to dueling and was up against much higher years than herself, it was more than enough to make the average duelist freak out. Kim sent a lovely Disarming Charm over towards Sam but the spell ended up missing her due to the fog Cassius had cast earlier. Well, he supposed he wasn't surprised by this. But there wasn't much he could do. Or was there? Kim felt as if there was a fog surrounding his brain. Maybe he'd made a mistake earlier before. Or not? Cassius's Cracker Jinx was perfect and right on target, causing wood splinters to explode in every direction. As a result, it was hard to avoid getting hit by them. Actually, it was downright impossible. The only thing to do was try and get hit by a few shards and not a ton of them. Kim managed to avoid most of them but ended up getting sliced up in various places. One sharp sliver sliced the side of his neck open a little. Another opened up a cut on his arm right above the crease of his elbow. A third sliced across his cheek and the fourth sliced into the side of his stomach. There was pain. Luckily, they were all minor injuries. Or should he think unluckily? It was around this time that another set of exploding wizard crackers were sent in his direction again. They exploded right before his eyes, before he had a chance to look away from them. Kim saw stars for a few seconds and wasn't able to defend himself properly as Eun-ji's Cracker Jinx went off beautifully. Okay, now things were starting to go his way, even though no one had really targeted him, Kim was still getting hit by spells left and right. It was nice to know that now he had a chance of getting knocked out. Morbid thoughts. But true ones. Kim only hoped he could at least contribute a little to taking the number of opponents down with him before he was knocked out of the duel. If he could just take out one... Well, it would at least be progress from his last match, where their opponents had destroyed them. | ⠀ |

Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor: Match 5
During this round, Samantha was a very popular target. The fog had created enough cover for her to hide from the incoming spells. Her ability to dodge wasn't impacted by the reduced vision, but Kim was affected by it, causing his spell to miss. It seemed like Estelle had also tried to target her, but completely failed and was affected by her own spell. When Samantha heard the rumbling of the storm cloud come closer, she realized that the Gryffindors must have blown it over to them.
Her own spell was targeted at Estelle and sadly missed. However, her team mates manged to hit the younger girl with their spells.

The Cracker Jinx had quickly become one of Cassius' favorite and most effective spells. The pure potential it had to cause chaos for the opposing team was a thrill greater than anything more typical duelling spells, like the Wind or Knockback Jinxes, could bring. When it hit, and it did hit this time, it was glorious and satisfying to behold.
While hit, the opposing team was not out yet. Three formidable duellists still stood before him and Cassius prepared to continue the fight. As always, duelling was an exhilarating experience.
