❂《 ⌜ February 10, 2024 ▎ 14:00 ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔A quick snitch find, totally unexpected, a quick catch? That she doubts but Raizel knows she has to try and secure that victory for her team and she had always been a trier, not afraid of using new methods to do so. Well, Ally-ooping wasn’t new but she doesn’t watch a lot of Quidditch Matches to know how exactly it works, having no reason to do so just yet. Still, she knew that was what her cousin, Alyssea, wanted to do when she called out to her.
She has experience being flinged on a broom, looking back at the unofficial race where she was ally-ooped by her teammates but it was saddening that she couldn’t put their efforts into good use. Maybe this time. She’s still in the air surprisingly enough and while she is, better make every move count. “Let’s do this!” She braced herself for what’s to come, trusting her cousin as she flinged her forward, eyes on the snitch. What she wasn’t expecting was for one of the players on the other team flying so close. “Woah! What the heck?!” She had no time to react, she had moved completely way off from her initial target but luckily she still has her eyes on that fluttering golden ball which is a good thing.
Raizel clicked her tongue, gritted her teeth. She can’t say she was not annoyed by it but she expected moves like that. After all, once that snitch is caught, game over. While she was busy dealing with her own problems in this role, she couldn't help but notice that their beaters were down. One was being carried by their chaser, but the other one, the Ravenclaw girl, her doodle buddy. If anyone knew Raizel, she hated seeing her friends hurt and if this was a regular brawl, she would’ve retaliated back but no, gotta keep her cool. She’ll see her later if she doesn’t end up in the Hospital Wing herself which is… highly unlikely.

Quidditch was fast paced game, that was for sure - an in some ways reminded him of hockey in that respect but maybe even more face paced as there were several moving parts happening on a quidditch pitch at all times whereas in hockey there was only one puck to attend. He enjoyed it though, and these unofficial games like this one certainly expanded his appreciation for the wizarding sport. It still wouldn't win over his beloved broom racing in his mind, but it was mad fun to play and watch. He could see why it appealed to so many.
This round he would keep his focus on those rings. If the other team would get the quaffle and aim it his way, then he was determined to block it. That all was going pretty well until he noticed what a superstar his golden girl was being out there. He smiled. She had just joined the Hufflepuff Broom Racing team but maybe quidditch was her sport. No matter though - he was just going to be getting some extra time with her around Hogwarts with practices, he wasn't about to sway her thinking on that.
The snitch was still not yet caught and the game continued. Simon was ready to put up the fight.

Astra shook her head, took a deep breath, and refocused.
One slow (as compared to her previous speed, but she was still going rather fast) lap around the pitch later, still no gold in sight, she clenched her fists. She felt like screaming and perhaps cursing that little ball of gold with it's flittering little wings and it's blasted skill at hide and seek.
She still watched for any bludgers about to fly her way and saw a great move by her team. While Elisa tried her best to defend the hoops from the other teams older Chaser, both beaters came together to knock Anti out of the sky.
Unfortunately, Anti took Elisa down with her, but at least they had a second string player.
She spotted the oldest Chaser, a fellow snake, zip past Raizel, but she didn't know why. Astra shrugged it off. She spotted the other team's remaining beater get shoved off his broom by Renelle. Ulysses was caught by his teammate, and Renelle was spotted by Koko, but it was still a gutsy and effective move. "Yes Renelle!" she whispered before returning attention to the gray sky, praying for a glimpse of gold.actions : team action

This time around, Colin ignored the quaffle scuffle entirely. He whistled innocently. Nothing to see here, honest guv! Colin smirked. Nothing to see here until Ren slipped by. Colin's smirk turned into a broad grin as he slid sideways. They headed in the same direction. Tracking the same target. Colin's housemate Uly. Poor kid doesn't stand a chance! If Ren couldn't blatch him, Colin certainly would!
Colin formed up to Ren's side and slightly behind, so he could keep an eye on both --- just in case. With a quick dip to the side, Ren accelerated, and Colin was right behind! Success! Renelle Dalton smashed into Ulyses! Colin whistled towards his team mate! "Good job REEEENNNNNN!!!" He smirked as he heard Koko call the penalty. Oh well!
Uly went flying --- broomless! --- and Colin turned away from the scene of the Blatch of the Year to find some other game to hunt. He found that he kept reaching for his wand. He had to shake his head and remind himself that this was quidditch, and not racing. He sighed. Too bad. Quidditch could really use some magic! His eyes narrowed as he heard the bell clang. The one that marks a goal scored. As he zipped along, he could see a flow of golden hair rushing towards his team's goal hoops! "Must be Fyre Angel!" he cried.
She scored not just once, not even twice, but thrice over! Colin leaned into his brrom and zoomed over her way: "Nice score Fyre!! You're still going down!!" he called out to her before zooming back around to his new formation.

It was odd being the only Chaser going for the Quaffle. It did mean she got hold of it each and every time, which was good, right? I mean, how embarrassing would it have been to have gotten it and then fumbled it, or missed it entirely? As she was grabbing for it each time, she prayed that it was not going to be a bad rendition of a slaptstick comedy routine from the old classic movies she liked to watch, not that she was a big fan of slapstick by any means. Still, the fear that she may reach for it and just bump it the least bit out of her grasp over a series of attempts like a man reaching down to pick up his hat while accidentally kicking it out of his reach flashed through her mind all too quickly... and then disappeared entirely after she grasped it for the first time.
She need not have worried. It was all hers for the taking, and so she did. She managed to score three times off of Team Two's Keeper, and that was fine. The girl, a first year by the look of her, did a great job blocking and kept two Quaffles from passing through. AngelFyre was happy with what she had accomplished, but felt like the two that did not make it through were two too many given the circumstances of what basically amounted to a carte blanche round. There was definitely room for improvement on her skill and technique, that was for sure.
She was feeling just a tinge bit defeated when she turned around and saw Simon smiling her way briefly and then all her doldrums washed away. He was right. They were on the board and ahead by 10. That was not nothing. The clanging of the bell three times was a solid recognition of the moments. Better to have scored three times, and lost two, than never to have scored at all (thank you... and my sincerest apologies..Lord Tennyson). She had played her part and now she turned her attention to the parts the others were playing, seeing where she could help. The other team had clearly caught whiff of our Seeker's eye on the snitch and had called all hands on deck to prevent our early win and their early loss.
It was beautiful mayhem everywhere she looked. In the end, their opponents did successfully deny them the snitch, but they only managed to do it by cheating. AngelFyre saw it clear as day and smiled knowing that Koko would have something to say about that, thankyouverymuch, but nope. It turned out to be a hot, steaming case of nothankyousoverymuch. There was just radio silence... or more precisely... megaphone-voice silence. Nothing. Nada. Not a peep as to the obvious cheating by the upperclassman. Astonished, AngelFyre scanned the field and noticed that from her vantage point, Koko likely missed the whole thing. Well now. Good to know what the other team was capable of and what they were prepared to do.
Yet, the hits kept coming... literally and oh so quickly. As she had been focused on watching the snitch melee, she missed seeing the few seconds that resulted in not one, but both of her team's beaters being KOB'd. grrrrrrr. Even from a distance, it was easy to see Colin in the thick of it. Of course he would be, and she smirked as she took off towards the group as well in case she was needed. The only good thing about it... well two good things, as it turned out... was that the girl, Rebecca, had managed to send a bludger barreling for Team Two's Keeper milliseconds before she herself was bludgered by the other team's beaters. Brutally done, but surgically precise. sigh
AngelFyre, having just left the Keeper and the rings, was also in the pathway of Rebecca's deadly bludger but managed to dodge it easily enough. In so doing, she lost the critical seconds necessary to save her teammate as she fell, but was greatly relieved to see an older, benched player below was slowing her fall. That was wonderful, but she winced when she heard the thick thud as the Keeper's body crumpled in on itself from the impact of the bludger Rebecca had sent her way. The Keeper, too, fell from her broom and was likewise saved by the angel below.
AngelFyre was not happy that the girl was hurt, but one less opponent on the field was never a bad thing. That mini celebration of thought was too short lived as Ulysses was also KOB'd! March, however, swept over to his rescue in no time flat, saving Ulysses from hitting the ground.
"Beautiful save! Way to go, March!" AngelFyre called out in relief, and pumped her fist in the air. She was gratified to hear Koko call Renelle out for her unsportsmanlike play and sentence her to a lap around the field. All in all, things could have been worse. They were down only one player, but Team Two was now down two. Renelle was doing a penalty lap and would not be in the action next round. And oh, yeah... they were now on the board and ahead by 10 points.
As she and Colin met up mid-field before racing off to the next round, she laughed good naturedly at his smack talk. "Thanks, Woofy. They were nice scores," and she knew he grudgingly meant it. "And you may be right. My team and I may be going down, but do not think for a moment that means that we will be staying there!" and she raised an index finger to the corner of her eye and winked at him, smiling a knowing smile as they both turned and flew back to their teams.
Gnaw on that meaty bone, Woofy!

There was something to be said for being second string in an unofficial game. It took the pressure off- like way off. Plus, it gave Nellie a chance to apply Howie’s lessons in the pitch. Even if she didn’t get to play, it was a learning experience, right? What the first year Hufflepuff didn’t count on, though perhaps she should have, was the first string keeper going down. If her mother had been there to hear the muttered curse come from her eldest child, Nellie might have gotten a stern talking to. But she wasn’t so Nellie was safe.
There was a moment that she watched the pitch in wide eyed horror at the students falling left and right, but she wasn’t one to stay like that for long. Within a few seconds, she was up, on her broom and flying into action. The muggle-raised witch had seen enough sports in her day to know that intimidation was part of the mind game that took place, and so attempted her very best intimidating glare. It had the same effect of a puppy barking at a much larger animal. You were more likely to comment on how cute rather than how scary.
In any case, she’d take Elisa’s place in the rings, getting immediately into position. “Let’s go, Team 2!” Internally she kept reminding herself that she could absolutely do this.

“Go Team 1!” Harmony marvelled to herself as she watched the chaser from her team score goal after goal. The players positioned around the hoops were pretty good at their job, and if she remembered correctly, that meant their team were currently ahead of the other team in points. If their seeker somehow found and caught the snitch soon, that meant they would score the win after a relatively short game and Harmony would have spent a nice afternoon with front-row seats to a sport that didn’t completely make her want to fall asleep.10 February 2024
The universe must have heard her pleas, for what was that? Alyssea swinging their seeker in some direction? Their seeker reaching through the air for something? Someone from the other team flying way too close? Just like that, the excitement turned into confusion and disappointment. Oh, well. That was pretty exciting to watch, anyways.
A sudden flurry of movement caught her eye and Harmony looked to see a bludger smack straight into a beater from her team. Harmony’s eyes widened as her slumbering braincells performed complicated mathematics to figure out what this meant. She barely registered their beater knocking another student off their broom even as they tumbled from their broom; her mind was too caught up in racing thoughts.
Whoever was out there must have been playing a cruel joke. Their team was so close to snatching the win before several students decided to cause bodily harm! Harmony got up from her spot like a child sulkily obeying their parents when they’d rather not, left her warm jacket in a pile on the bench, and prepared to take flight. Whoop, can’t forget the most important thing: the bat she was going to be using to cause injury to others. Yay. Was now a good time to mention she hadn’t used a broom very much before?

𝓣he first time she'd ever been knocked off her broom by a bludger, the game was already over and their opponents had already caught the snitch. Bex had hardly a moment to grieve the loss though, as mere moments after Slytherin's seeker had managed to get ahold of it, goodnight and goodbye Bex, she'd been hit from behind by a bludger and woke up an hour or so later in the hospital wing with a killer headache and enough rage and frustration to burn down a small to medium sized village.
And then the next day she'd been over it, physically and mentally, and continued to go about her life. Quidditch was fun like that.
This time around though, she at least got to see the bludger coming, which was cool, and it had hit her while the match was still actually happening, which is the kind of respect and courtesy she typically prefers from her fellow Quidditch players. The bludger made gruesome impact with the left side of her rib-cage, causing a rather ominous cracking sound as she was knocked from her broom and sent hurtling towards the Earth.
At least she'd gotten to take one of their keepers out with her before she went down.
The next thing she knew, she was on the ground in the grass with eyeball boy hovering above her. "Oh, hello, Pericles." She murmured, still more than a little dazed from the fall and subsequent rescue. She'd have expected to have woken up in the hospital wing, but judging by the much duller pain in her ribs than she was expecting, clearly it had been handled just fine here on the pitch. "5 stars on Yelp, exceptional service. Would fall here again."
She continued to lay flat on her back, staring up at the players far above them. Clearly the game was still ongoing, judging by the frenetic pace of the distant flyers. "Put me back in, coach, I can still play."

This round was far more disappointing in terms of Quaffle points, with most Chasers flying off elsewhere and leaving the Huffflepuff on the other team to get the snitch by default. Easy for her, but Renelle had a far more daunting task ahead.
Cheating was something mostly looked down on in Quidditch and well, everything, but the Ravenclaw definitely had no qualms about resorting to shadier means if the results were promising. The unlucky target was none other than one of the beaters on the other team who had helped knock Team 2’s very own Alexander Mason out of the sky- some Slytherin she hadn’t bothered to learn the name of.
She tried to fly discreetly toward him with her fellow Chaser, the blonde one with crazy hair. Between the two of them, there was no way the opposing Slytherin was going to get out of this unscathed. She took the shot first, and surprisingly managed to shove the beater straight off his broom, albeit just barely. Sadly, he was caught by a teammate, but hey. Sharing a broom couldn’t be too convenient, and she doubted falling had been much fun either.
Renelle didn’t bother feeling bad about it. What’s done was done, and he kinda of deserved it anyway, with what he had done to poor Alex. Besides, she was busy feeling bad for herself, when the moderator revealed that she had witnessed the whole thing, meaning she was going to have to take a penalty lap next round. Ugh.
“Erm, thanks!” She called back uncertainly. She desperately racked her brain for anytime they might have met. There was no way someone could be that casual with a total stranger! Maybe she’d mysteriously gotten amnesia sometime in the past few months? She frowned. That… somewhat made sense, actually.

so far, the game wasn't going too good for team one, but they still had time. But after a bit later, March thought the game was going well well for team one, no teams were too ahead yet. her team had won many points so far, sadly, there beater had been knocked of there broom, but not before getting out the other teams keeper. March wondered when she's be able to do something, then, as soon as she's thought it, She saw a a figure fall from there broom, from another player from the other team, who had been cheating. It took her a second to react, but she suddenly flew of there as quickly as her school broom would let her. She waited for gravity to work out, in this case, She wished people could fly without brooms. That would make quidditch pretty easier. The player landed on her broom, March was suprised, She had not expected for her to succeed. She gripped her broom, and pushed back a loose strand of hair.
"Phew" she said under her breath. "um...You good?" She asked. March was a bit surprised by her sudden dash. Well, at least another player wasn't knocked of there broom, especially from cheating. She heard the organizer call out at the player, for there wrong doing. This was an eventful unofficial game. Already some cheating?
