He was doing the Clark Work. Casting a sneezing hex on top of the curse of the bogies had to have been the best spell combo he could've came up with. Personally, he would've preferred spells with more flair rather than risking snot on him should she sneeze the boogers his direction. He didn't want to feel the slime that was for sure.

Cassian barely had time to dodge the backfired Cracker Jinx, but Zach and Bea weren’t so lucky as the smoke, bright red lights, and bangs and cracks filled the air.
Cassian was starting to get tired. He had been firing off powerful Knock-Back jinxes and it was starting to get to him. It was apparent in the last attack, in which he had almost missed the Dragon Kid entirely. Cassian was lucky enough to have clipped his shoulder but still; he should’ve gotten a direct hit. They were about halfway through the duel and Cassian wasn’t sure how long he could last like this. Maybe it was time to reevaluate strategies?
Cassian looked over to Bea for guidance, but she didn't seem to be doing any better. It seemed that the Hufflepuffs had noticed her backfired spell and had taken advantage of the chaos. It seemed like Bea had been hit by a nasty Bogies Curse and maybe even something else. Cassian didn’t envy her and he hoped she would be able to recover alright. Zach seemed to be doing alright, not ideal, but not nearly as bad as Bea. This was turning out to be trickier than Cassian had anticipated.

Bea felt like she was going to die. Her ability to spell spread was obviously not up to par. Her wand could betray her once again, casting the bloody fireworks back onto herself and her own team. Poor Zach. She went to apologise and instead was hit with two other spells. And down she went. Bogies and sneezing. She was going to die.

Bad round. Very, very bad round. It seemed that luck was not in his team's favor that time. Zach wanted to cry. The badgers cast some debuffing spells at Bea, and Bea missed her spells. Sadly, Zach couldn't evade the spell. He gave Bea a reassuring look.

However, it was actually not that bad. Cassian succeeded with his spell. Zach stood firmly once again, despite feeling a little dizzy. This unfortunate must not happen any longer. Zach should focus on his job.

They were now just a little bit over the half-time, and Piérre was nearly on the edge of his seat as he fed Figaro a piece of dried jerky with wide and appraising emerald eyes that swept almost eerily over the piste. Hufflepuff had had a bang-out bravado of spellmanship moments prior, and he was quite curious if they would be able to carry such momentum forward even with the fact that they were obviously licking their wounds and trying to cope with the obvious disadvantage they had been presented by Ravenclaw's own domineering first few plays.

The boy would find himself shocked as the gap seemed to close so easily over the course of the next few seconds alone. Beatrice elected to heal herself, to alleviate at least a few of the magically-induced effects that were blighting her in the form of yellow mucus and a pneumonic rattle in her lungs. Despite a hard sneeze, she was able to hold her nose long enough to cast the healing spell, offering her momentary respite as Cassian attempted to protect her from assault in the meanwhile with an attempted Knockback Jinx. Sadly, though, though he had probably cast the spell correctly, perhaps he had not had enough willpower or intent or focus to bring the conjuration to its fruition: he would be left awkwardly pointing his popular wand towards Axyen without only a tiny spark flittering off into the unknown being the only tell that a spellcast had been attempted.

Zach, nearing the end of his marble lethargy, would try to focus his efforts on attempting to elude any strike that came for him. Unfortunately, while he was trying to figure out how to move dexterously, an orange gout of flame burst forth from Alyssea and began to devour the Ravenclaw boy mid dodge. It was a feeble flame, but enough to cause some damage before it would relinquish him. Well, at least his limbs were working properly now; no more impairment from that blasted body-bind curse!

"Great balls of fire, Hufflepuff avenges their dragon's slight with a brilliant dragon's send-off! Ravenclaw is sent scrambling in an attempt to recover!" The boy announced clearly, a broad smile plastered across his features in total and (slightly proud) amusement. Who didn't love a good underdog?

Clark Baird had the same idea, his own fire requiring a bit more coaxing--perhaps almost ready to sputter out--before it was sent alongside a Knockback Jinx from Axyen: both would strike the snotty Beatrice mid-sneeze, likely sending her reeling from the force of Axyen's spell while also causing her clothes to be set ablaze in the same degree as Zach's had.

Nobody looked well after this, but Beatrice still seemed to be having the worst of it in both luck and conditions... no wonder Hufflepuff had targeted her despite her superior experience and skill.

Piérre could only shake his head in shock as he laid on his stomach and began to kick his feet childishly in the air. Figaro jumped down from his shoulders and began to rub on his face with a deep chest-purr. While petting his feline familiar, Piérre continued to announce and to encourage the cries of the audience, now thoroughly captivated by this amazing turn of events. "What was once a seeming formality of a lead on a trail to a bygone conclusion has now resulted in Hufflepuff slamming the window on the talons of the overconfident Ravens! It's anyone's game again now, and Hufflepuff doesn't seem to be impaired in the slightest! Let's see what the teams decide to cook up next!"

There was hope, everything wasn't lost. Despite everything, there was STILL a chance to win this, there was another opportunity for Axyen and his team to win the duel, faith is what was needed. Axyen refused to waste this opportunity, Beatrice wasn't in the best condition and so Axyen decided it would be best to target her, he took a deep breath and placed his mind elsewhere. He wasn't in the dueling club fighting for Hufflepuff, instead he was in class, merely taking notes about Charms. The importance of properly casting your spells, and all Axyen needed was to pretend he was merely just testing the spell and to get it right, he needed to place all of his strength behind it. Beatrice cast a spell to help heal herself during this process. Axyen focused back in the dueling club. No crowd, no moderator, just his teammates and these Ravenclaws. Cassian aimed his wand at Axyen, but only a tiny spark came out of it. 'I won't go down without a fight!' Axyen thought to himself, he took advantage that Cassian hadn't hit him to go all out with yet another powerful spell. "Flipendo!" sending the spell directly at Beatrice and successfully hitting her with it. Clark also sent out his own spell, causing some of her clothes to catch on fire. So that was a good amount of damage done. Alyssea also managed to hit one of the Ravenclaws with Incendio Duo, so everything was going well so far.

Axyen had to think fast, he had to keep pushing through, keeping his focus strong. Axyen was going to make Hufflepuff proud(hopefully) he would continue fighting all the way until the end. Axyen never felt such intensity before, but he couldn't let himself fail just because of the pressure, he simply just needed to push through and everything would be fine... right?

Another bad round. Zach was fed up. He was angry, really angry. Those badgers were really something after using annoying spells on his team. They used Incendio Duo. GAH! One of their fires burnt his clothes after hitting him, even if he tried to dodge it. "I hate it," Zach said weakly. Now what should he say to his mom if she found out about his burnt clothes?

Alyssea would normally opt to forego casting any fire spells during a duel since burnt clothes smelt bad. But she was a Blazing Badger and she might as well live up to that name, right? Seeing Axyen and Clark aim for Beatrice had Alyssea redirecting her spell at the next target. This would be the second time she set Zach's clothes on fire and she didn't have a spare shirt to give him as an apology gift.

Like a man, Clark felt like upping his game would equate to him being a better player. This included targeting the victim who was struck with the sneezing hex by him last round. "INCENDIO DUO!" he would scream, and like a decently casted spell, it hit and it was a success! Nancy would be proud of him, bless her heart.

Cassian swore. Things were going downhill and too quickly for his liking. Bea was taking a beating and Zach was now on fire. To make things worse Cassian had just failed his last spell casting. He wasn’t sure what he’d done wrong exactly. He’d executed that jinx a hundred times before. The pronunciation and wand movements were all correct, but maybe he was beginning to lose some of his power and momentum. It was also understandable that he was also getting too distracted.
But as much as he hated getting their asses kicked, Cassain found he was loving it. The thrill of the duel, the adrenaline coursing through him, nothing had ever compared to this moment. He found himself wishing he knew more powerful spells, but he figured someday he’d learn more and it would be even more interesting. For now, however, his teammates needed him and he needed them as well if they had any chance of turning the tide that had somehow become these Badgers. They were good, he had to admit. And Cassian appreciated a good challenge and they sure as hell wasn’t making it easy by any means.
