Leon would watch as one of his teammates bit the dust with how foul the other team was playing. This only made him steel his resolve. A mischievous smile crept onto his face, knowing that it is his time to shine now. And what he has to do. His hair turned to normal now that he is back to his rowdy behavior and he knows exactly what to do.
He would hop onto his school broom and grab a bat and take off. He would fly next to his teammate, a girl that seems to be unsure about herself. He would look at her before closing in. "Yo." He would say. "I'm going to dust these guys. It'd be a hassle to do it all alone and I'll need your help."
With that said, he would fly away from her to avoid both of them getting hit. In his mind, if they can play dirty, why not him? He would look around for a suitable target, keeping his bat at the ready for any bludgers or enemy team members going his way.
But for now, he would take it all in. The air up here seemed so fresh, yet cold. He relaxed as he would look at the enemy team, keeping a close eye on their movements as he would eventually start moving again.

Snitches and Stitches

banner background by the lovely Raizel
Up in the air, Astra was almost reminded of broom racing, of her first race when her teammates sent her high into the atmosphere with an ascension spell. The wind was cold, and it was rather gloomy, but as she's said before, it was a wonderful day.
Why?
Because Quidditch. Why would you ask such a silly thing?
All aside, Astra turned her terribly keen (or so she thought) eyes all around her, zipping around the Pitch at a moderate speed, ready to kick into high gear at a glimpse of gold.
Chaos raged around, with Anti and Ulysses both targeting (and subsequently knocking out) one of her team's beaters, and two Chasers (one being Renelle) commanding the Quaffle.
All this Astra watched out of the corner of her eye. It felt strange, but exhilarating to finally be a part of the sport she'd so long dreamed to be. Even if it was only unofficially.
It must have been this, then, one eye focused on the rest of the game (which, she supposed made sense, what with all the warnings of bludgers) instead of focus on looking for the elusive Snitch.
Bugger. No gold in sight. What an illustrious start for our hopeful little Seeker.actions : team action

Colin shot towards the quaffle grab as soon as the game started! He dove into the pile eagerly trying to grab the ball whilst preventing the other team from getting hold of it! With a growl and a snarl Colin was in the thick of it, and perhaps some of his theatrics were helpful! He wasn't used to grabbing or handling balls, and it definitely showed in his performance!
The first time in, Colin was rudely jostled aside. He wasn't sure who, but he did know that Ruby got the quaffle and shot off towards the goal. And she almost got it too! But Simon was too quick. The next time in both he and Renelle fell to Ruby! That's when Colin had an idea: of course, if he could get the quaffle himself that would be great, but even if not, he could help his team on other ways.
Mostly by keeping the other team's chasers' dirty little paws off of the thing! And that meant dealing with Aly and AngelFyre someone he didn't know named March. That was okay. They could all march right off the pitch! As far as Colin was concerned, if anyone was getting the quaffle, it would Ruby and Renelle!
Colin kept his eye especially on Fyre Angel --- she might be his bestie, but he wasn't about to let that stop him from yoinking the quaffle right out of her hands if need be! And so it was, grab after grab: growl, snarl, tussle, make sure Ruby and Ren get the thing! Colin knew he wasn't built for quidditch, but he found it was loads of fun anyway!
He flew in front of AngelFyre as Ren shot off towards the goals with the last quaffle of the round. "Yer lad's good, Fyre, but our Ren's got this one!!" he called out to her before zooming back around to formation.

From her gradually warming spot on the bench, Harmony slouched comfortably to watch the teams battle it out.10 February 2024
She wasn't one hundred percent sure of the rules, but she knew the basics and could follow along as one of the Keepers (was that her team's?) did a fantastic job at, well, Keeping their rings. The Chasers fought hard for the Quaffle, giving the Keeper a difficult job, but he was holding his own very well, from what Harmony could tell with her limited knowledge and vision.
Looking then to the other side of the pitch, Harmony saw the other Keeper(from the other team?) hovering near the rings, stuck with watching the action from afar. Harmony wondered if Keepers ever zoned out and began inspecting the rings, or perhaps they attempted to look for the Snitch themselves, or maybe some other Wizarding equivalent to peeling at grass blades while waiting for the ball in a Muggle sport. She knew she would, and that was why she was not an athlete.
Where was Alyssea? Harmony scanned the air for her friend and the boy who got her in this situation, eager for something else to do. As she did, a rapid movement from the corner of her eye caught her attention and she looked just in time to see a Bludger collide with someone and knock them off their broom. Harmony sat and gaped in shock while a benched student casually got up and mounted his broom, seemingly unfazed by the danger he was striding straight into. Quidditch was definitely a dangerous game, but it seemed the Beaters and their role definitely brought them a step closer to- HOLD UP
A chill ran through Harmony as she remembered: she was a beater in this game too. She wasn't religious, but she began praying to whoever was out there to let her stay a benchwarmer.

The action was just as fast as she knew it would be. After her lesson with Howie, she at least understood what was happening. That being said, she was struggling to keep up. She imagined that was something that would come with time.
She cheered as the quaffle went through the hoop. “Go team two!” The young Hufflepuff didn’t look like she had the ability to get very loud. Yet here she was cheering on her team with the best of them.
The girl paid not much more than a passing glance at the seekers. The snitch might have been the most important part of the game but currently, there seemed to be much more action everywhere else, so that was where her attention went.
Quidditch had the potential to be pretty dangerous. Of course, the muggle idea of danger and the wizard idea of danger were two very different things. Most things in this world could be patched up in a matter of hours. That didn’t mean, however, that things did not hurt equally as bad in both worlds. She drew in a gasp, her hands covering her mouth as Alexander was hit and sent falling to the ground unconscious. At least unconscious meant he wasn’t awake to feel it. Once he was safe, she turned her attention back to the action on the pitch.

Not that he hadn’t enjoyed his previous unofficial qudditch games on the past but they were rather lackluster with energy as opposed to this one - at least at the very start. For non-official qudditch players, all players from Team 1 and Team 2 were ready to give their all.
Simon started out strong. He scanned the skies to keep track of the quaffles and was going to do whatever he could to ensure that they did not go through the golden rings behind him. He blocked the first attempt. He blocked the second attempt.
But he only started out strong. Soon there was movement everywhere and the second he took his attention off where the quaffles were and began to look for the bludgers to assure that AngelFyre wasn’t in harm, a quaffle got by him. Then, flustered by the first success he let another one by.
Nope. He needed to once again scan the skies for those with quaffles and who had possession of them. If it was a player on the other team he needed to be alert and to block them. He could do this. AngelFyre was a tough girl and could fend for herself out there on the pitch. He needed to help her and the team out by focusing on those golden rings and he could see his golden girl after the match was over.

He thought that he was ready, staying decently out of the way of most of the action below him. The quaffles passing around quite a bit. At least he thought they were quaffles. It was a bit hard to tell the wind kept getting in his eyes, squinting around like he was a seeker. He was looking to see if any of his team mates were falling, watching the points, looking at birds. The normal, it did not take long to see a bulder pass right by someone, not hitting them. From the looks of it, it was the other team that avoided the hit. Shame. It was only the first round, so there was lots of other chances.
Seeing one of the bulders was good, but made his grip tighten on his broom, and his beater stick. There was still another one out on the pitch, it would make good practice to keep track of at least those two balls. They were easy enough, unlike the snitch. Un-lucky for Alex, by the time he had seen it. It was flying towards him. Hit by not one, but both of the other beaters, coming at him fast, to fast to avoid or hit back. "Oh no-" He closed his eyes ready for the impact. It came hitting him right in the gut. They must had not held back. He fell, along with his broom.
=======
By the time Alex woke up, he was on his back, chest wrapped up. And he did not feel.. horrible? No headache like there should have been, and instead of a hospital wing it was sill the quidditch pitch. He had defiantly missed something. And something may have been broken, just with the force that he had been hit with.
He looked over at the only person he saw, A fifth year on his team. He knew only that he had been hit, and from the last time he was knocked of a broom in a house on house match, he woke up in the hospital wing. Finding out that Gryffindors won. "What happened exactly.." Seeing that to be the only appropriate question to be ask. "I don't think we've won. Right?" He didn't sit up just yet, to be safe. His voice was a bit out of it.

March watched as everyone came rushing towards the quaffle, she crossed her fingers, and toes, for her team to be able to rigle it out of the way of the other team. But no, sadly the quaffle ended up in the hands of some one from the other team. She folowed her glance where ever the quaffle was going, which was shot to there rings. Thankfully for them, there keeper was able to stop the quaffle from going into there ring. March let out a sigh of relief, they still had a chance of gaining possesion of the quaffle. The same chaser was able to grab the quaffle, but again, the keeper blocked when the quaffle came his way. Again, they snatched the quaffle and flung it at the ring. This time, it past the keeper and reached it's target.
March reminded herself that it was only the start of the match, and they still had a chance if the seeker found the snitch. March looked over to whoever has gotton the quaffle, it was some one diffrent this time, she'd taken an attempt at the goal, but there keeper blocked it! March brightened up a bit, but maybe too soon. The same person took a second chance at the ring, and, it made it into the ring.
Well, at least they still had a chance, even if they don't start the game to nicely, they can still end it strong!

𝓘t was hard to believe that there was ever a time where she thought that she wasn't cut out to be a beater.
She'd tried out for Keeper, back during Ravenclaw's tryouts. She'd liked the idea of it, being the last line of defense for her team and getting to keep an eye on the entire match. She knew with certainty now though that she'd never have made a good keeper; she'd have been bored out of her mind.
No, she knew her place and it was right here, up in the sky putting the fear of god into her fellow students.
Their chasers hadn't had much in the way of luck this go-round, though their keeper had held his own and blocked three out of five of the other team's quaffle throws, so she wasn't too worried about that front. All things considered, 20 points wasn't a terrible number to lose. As long as they didn't have too many rounds of that, they'd be fine.
In all honesty, though, Bex didn't care nearly as much about what the quaffle was doing as she did about where the bludgers were. She cursed as a bludger was sent careening over towards Raizel, too far away for her to have any chance of getting to the other girl in time to intervene. Thankfully Raizel managed to dodge out of the way of it just in time, and Bex sent her a cheery smile and an encouraging thumbs up. The Gryffindor girl could be skittish about things like this, and Bex wanted to coerce her into loving Quidditch before she could actually learn the risks of the seeker position, and experience it's lethality first hand.
It was near the end of the round when she finally saw her chance. There was more to being a good beater than just hitting bludgers really hard (though it certainly did help.) There was a certain level of innate understanding of angles and trajectory that was required; one couldn't simple take out a quill and parchment and start doing math in the air, so you had to be able to see it. As a bludger made it's way into her path, she scanned the air for the ideal target, locking on to one of the opposing team's beaters, a dark haired boy in her year. However, as she swung her bat back and prepared to make contact, there was her beater partner, right beside her and moving into position as well.
At first she thought he was trying to steal the bludger from her, which sparked an immediate flare of rage that made her consider turning her bat on him. There was little room for egos on a successful Quidditch team, as typically seekers were already taking up all of the free real estate in that district; as such, pushing another beater out of the way would be rude, unnecessary, and just plan bad strategy.
Thankfully, she understood his intention at the last moment, his body language cooperative rather than aggressive. Dopplebeater. The same strategy she'd participated in in her first ever Quidditch game. Together, the two of them crashed their bats against the bludger as one and sent it shooting off like a bottle rocket over to the opposing beater, knocking him clear off his broom.
Bex let out a celebratory whoop, and reached up to offer her teammate a high five.

terror on the pitch———

The collective rose into the air and it was though the magic emitting from the pit dialed itself up to 11 as the match began and Uly tapped into something so primal in nature that he truly seemed to transform from a first year kid to something far more sinister. The Silver Arrow he was able to borrow felt smooth and technical in a way that the other brooms that he tried just didn't have. He flew with a certainty and a terror that might have qualified him to be considered a terrorizing presence if this had been a true Quidditch game.
His mind seemed to sync itself into the momentum of the pitch as Uly's ADHD finally had enough to settle him into figuring out what he needed to do. With a bludger heading towards his partner, the Slytherin Beater sped towards her as though he was going to slam himself into her while he extended his hand to slam itself fast and hard against the bludger exactly when his partner was doing it and immediately it went spinning towards another player and knocked him out hard.
Perhaps Uly would've felt bad if he didn't feel the rush of adrenaline coursing through his body as he looked over at Bex with the gaze of a lunatic and returned her high five as he flew around her with haste.
" Let's keep up the momentum, seeing them drop like flies makes it all that much better. " Licking his chops like a rabid canine looking for its next target, Uly headed back towards their goal to reset for the next quaffle drop.
