Slytherin vs Hufflepuff: Match 4

When the duel started, Opeila didn't waste a second. The wind jinx had made it into the Slytherin's standard spell repertoire by now and she cast it at one of the Hufflepuff girls almost effortlessly, satisfied to see it hit.
Only... she was not the only one who got hit. While she was watching her own spell, she felt something hit her as well. The smell of burning fabric told her before she could see the flames. Opeila knew better than to try and extinguish it with her bare hands, it was only a small flame anyway, it would go out in a few seconds.
The fifth year grit her teeth and looked around. Only in time to see the cloud of fog come her way.

Slytherin vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
All in all, it was a decent enough first round for the Slytherins, with them all hitting at least one of their opponents. Perhaps her fifth year teammates had improved since last time, or so she hoped. Ruby dodged out of the way of some fire that had been sent in her direction and glanced at her teammates only to see that they had both been hit. Thankfully, though, they didn't seem to be in too bad a shape, so she focused her gaze back on the Hufflepuffs, watching the fog set in around her.Doing as strategized

Oh shoot. Lea was not used to being the primary target of a multitude of spells, suddenly reminded that the changes to teams meant three wands pointed at her rather than two. That certainly made life trickier, forced to drop some of the focus from her own spellcasting in order to even attempt escaping the attacks and hope for the best that her teammates wouldn't suffer a similar fate from the subsequent blasts of the cracker jinx or splitting spells. Her own reply to the onslaught was rather simple- the easiest thing to think about with a frazzled mind- a fire-making spell that split between the two gradually getting cloaked in smoke. Only one hit, but at least it was something as the girl staggered back from the wind and disoriented from the explosions that had previously encircled her. How quickly the tone had changed between this year's matches-

The badger’s blue eyes watched with disinterest, remaining to record everything that was happening. The first being Hanako against Lea. Then she was attacked again by Opelia and Ruby. That couldn’t be good. He realized that the members of Slytherin had become relentless, rough. That seemed to enjoy him, because in his face you could see a small smile.
The first of Hufflepuff was himself, having performed a spell directed at Opelia and Ruby, creating a dense fog that was to cover them. The next one was Lea, casting an incendiary spell that earned Hades’s comment “Quite feisty.”. The last spell was Lucia who directed the target towards Hanako. It was the first time everyone had been able to perform all the spells and have the effect.

It was a marvelous thing to see Duelists react to an ever-changing battlefield with their own ever-changing strategies. The pace would slow a bit as they reacted to each others opening moves. Things had not gone perfect for either team so whatever their original plans had they'd need new ones now.
The Vipers took a more defensive role this turn. Opeila would work to clear the annoying fog that covered her and Ruby, while Ruby made more of it someplace else. The sole visible Snake would be the sole offensive caster, whipping up a haphazard Ventus. Seems the chill had gotten to his wrist. Hades would aim to do something for Hanako though - an Incendio duo would boil at the tip of his wand. Lucia would look to pay Ruby back for the Flipendo, working on her own double dose of pure force. Lea would be the odd-badger-out, casting a defensive Protego. It was a smart choice when you'd been battered so badly.
But it seemed Slytherin had expected it. Lea's protego would go untouched as Hanako's ventus flew towards Hades, crossing paths with the boys Incedio Duo. The spells would mix together for a brief moment before they shot off towards their targets. Hanako would evade the warm ball of fire, while Hades was caught up in a windy vortex. Hanako wouldn't go untouched though. Lucia had him dialed in, the flirtatious boy seemingly caught in her spell. Literally. A solid thunk rang out as her Flipendo bashed into his chest. A second thud would come from within the dissipating fog as Ruby was caught by its twin.
Another bout of spells and another bout of fog rolled in. This time coating Hanako and Lea. Both teams had taken a beating, but both still stood. The question was now if any would survive the fog?!

Slytherin vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
It was rather dramatic really. There was always an exciting sort of tension when two duelist choose eachother as a target. Hanako was almost flattered, really. Evidently he was the bigger threat than his other teammates. And if he had the chance, he would've probably flirted with Hades Ssch- scheu- schewei- okay honestly he knew he was never going to get that last name right. Regardless the tension wouldve been fun- especially since Hades missed. Must’ve been Hanako’s good looks that distracted him ( at least thats what Hana thinks). Though he supposed he wasnt above the rookie mistake either. For a split second he was too busy getting annoyed that Cazares managed to snag the spot closest to Lucia. How lucky of her to be able to see that beauty up close. And how unlucky for him to be so weak to pretty faces because for the second time in a row- he had allowed lucia’s spell to hit him. Thankfully at least Cazarez shrouded him in a fog. If he looked embarrassed, at least no one else saw that. Regardless he felt much better in a fog than without defence. It was like a shield for him. He was almost flattered Ruby remembered he had no issue sensing in the fog. Almost. He squashed that feeling of being flattered when he remembered how annoyed she’d look if she helped him and he still couldn't evade the next spell. There was always a price to pay with Ruby’s acts of kindness. And if its all for nothing, Hanako will get a little extra something for free. Her disdain.
So best to focus. No more being drawn to Lucia and her golden ratio face.
Action : doing as strategised. Definitely not too intimidated by Ruby to flirt.

Lucia took a deep breath. Casting two spells at once always required a bit more concentration, which was sometimes difficult in the middle of a duel, when you were focusing on so many things at once. Luckily, Lucia managed to pull enough attention to her casting to send two well-aimed knockback jinxes towards her opponents.

The focus was on surviving one round and letting the wind vanish. It seemed 'easiest' to cast Protego for that, unsure how strongly she felt about her dodging capabilities alone after the unfortunate event that was the first round. It gave her a chance to breath, to get some fresh air until she started inhaling smoke, spluttering a bit at the sight as her vision left and duellists became vague shadows in the gray. Great. Lovely. Exactly what she wanted to deal with.

From her position in the fog, there wasn’t much that Ruby could see. Listening for what was happening, she thought at least one spell made contact. Unfortunately, one was also coming her way. Unable to see it until it was too late, Ruby got hit by the incoming Knockback Jinx, irritated and slightly sore but otherwise fine. Opeila cleared away the fog around them, while Ruby conjured more of it to cover different people this time. Being able to see most of the duellists now was much better for her, and she was aware that Hanako could fend for himself startlingly well in fog. She was interested to see how things would unfold from here.Doing as strategized

Opeila wasn't having it. There had been too many duels, too many moments where she had been surrounded by smoke. As the two Slytherin girls were once again engulfed by a white wall of fog, Opeila didn't hesitate to raise her wand. "Meteolojinx Recanto!"
Satisfied, she watched the fog disappear. They were not done yet and she would not be stopped by another goddamn wall of fog.
