He heard Ranvier's invective from far far behind! Colin smirked as he flew onwards. Constipation until graduation did not sound at all comfortable! He wondered if there was a spell she knew that would cause that! His eyes widened briefly in horror! Then Colin laughed! Gobs of snot still rolled from his nose. This was arguably much better than years long constipation.

"EAT MY SNOT RAVENCLOWN!!" he called back towards Aurora
with a laugh. He gave her a hair flip, then shook his whole body like a dog, letting his hair stream out behind. Like a comet screaming through space! He --- whoa! The trees were upon him really quick!

Too quick! "Whoa! Trees ahead!" So much for teasing Ranvier! Birnam Wood was fast approaching and Colin would have to think ultra quick! But there was no time! "Crapo! Har-a-starboard lad!" Colin cried out as he shifted his meager weight in an effort to swing his broom around the girth of the tree! He knew it wouldn't be enough to avoid the tree! "Unnnggg." Colin groaned as he colided.

SKRRRRRTT!

"And hard-a-port!" Colin felt the broken branches and the thick bark dig into his right flank and hip, ripping his shirt and skin to shreds on that side and banging his hip really hard into the solid obstruction. Colin swung his body round the other way. He didn't care about smacking himself into trees or squids or trolls or anything else; but Vailerama, his trusty Silver Arrow and Naur an Edraith, his awesome hawthorn wand, must be kept safe!

Colin took the long crushing scrape against the tree the way a mighty ship might skirt the ice berg. And when at last the tree's sharp talons released his ravaged flesh, broom and wand unhurt, Colin charged even faster towards the next trees! Those he wiggled through most deftly! And bidding fare well to the trees at last, Colin flew straight into the fog!

Looks like the racers were starting to lean towards the violent side of Broom Racing and Raizel is more than up for it. Getting hurt and hurting others is normal in every sport in Hogwarts and Raizel does believe that Broom Racing is the most violent one of them all. The thrill though is what’s drawing her close to the said sport. Who knows, maybe one day…
Offensive Spells and Attacks

Team 2
XAILAH ALPTRAUM
Casting Locomotor Mortis at self | WDC 20
Xailah Wis [d20 : 19] + 19 = 38 | Success
Immune to KOB unless unconscious
Colin seems to be eyeing the Gryffindor just ahead of him and a plan seems to have formed in his mind. He quickened his pace in hopes of catching up to her, attempting to knock her off of her broom much like how he did with the Ravenclaw Girl from the other team. If he did it before, then surely, he’d be able to do it again. Knocking Xailah off was a lot trickier than what he had expected though. One moment she was there, so close to being hit and then she was out of his way, completely avoiding him effortlessly and to top it all off, she had even casted a spell on herself. Whether that’ll help her for the rest of the race shall remain a mystery.
UNIT 4 - EASY TREES (3) | ACC DC 13
Team 2
AURORA RANVIER
Aurora Acc [3d20 : 15,13,1] +17 = 32, 30, 18 | All success
Aurora was still far behind and probably had eaten dust quite literally after falling off of her broom earlier but now she’s back and ready to show that she’s not playing around. Off she went as soon as she was back, not even treating the trees as threats with how she maneuvered through them quite easily. That was enough to show that she’s a professional Broom Racer.
UNIT 7 - LIGHT FOG | ACC DC 17
Team Idinnae
ALYSSEA BROWN
Alyssea Acc [d20 : 15] + 7 = 22 | Success

Team 2
AURORA RANVIER
Aurora Acc [d20 : 18] + 17 = 35 | Success
Aurora ends here
Fog was up ahead and a couple of racers went through without a hitch except for Colin of course. Aurora is still trying to catch up and would soon reach the Hufflepuff Broom Racing Co-Captain, Alyssea Brown and the boy who blanched her, Colin McCoire, was still up ahead of them. Both racers went through the fog without any troubles, Aurora still showing her experience as a broom racer with how easy she made it look while navigating through it.
UNIT 8 - MODERATE THORNS | ACC DC 18
Team Idinnae
ALYSSEA BROWN
Eva man, procs at 10 [d10 : 3] 3 | No
Alyssea Acc [d20 : 14] + 7 = 21 | Success
COLIN MCCOIRE
Eva Man, procs at 10 [d10 : 2] 2 | No
Colin Acc [d20 : 17] + 5 = 22 | Success
The thorns haven’t drawn blood just yet and it seems like the other three were spared from its piercing grasp. All was safe on the other side of the obstacle with no signs of bleeding which is good. Astra was still up in the air during those times and had passed through all without breaking a sweat. She was having the time of her life but the spell would soon cease to work and the young Slytherin would find herself back on the level with the other racers but at least she didn't have to do lots of work to stay ahead.

UNIT 11 - HARD HIGH WINDS | STR DC 15

PIÉRRE MARCHONNÉ

700-50 = 650/700
Pierre ends here

Team 2
XAILAH ALPTRAUM
Xailah auto passes due to Locomotor Mortis
Two lions are up ahead, fighting for the top spot for their own team and what awaits them is something that’ll test their strength. Xailah knew this, she knew the wind was coming and whatever the spell she used earlier is the one that allowed her to stay on her broom, treating the strong winds like a passing breeze. Piérre, on the other hand, doesn't seem ready to face this one. He kept his hold, it looked like he was about to pass through and while Raizel doesn't have any particular team to cheer on, even though she is starting to become one of Xailah's fan, she did kind of wanted for him to get through. He is doing so well, nothing could go wrong, right? Nope. Piérre found himself blown off, his grip failing him and even if he tries to reach for his broom, it's not enough to prevent him from hitting the hard ground. For sure, that one hurts so much.

Focus. She had to catch up to Piérre and Colin; she wasn't useful being so far away from them, especially if they needed a boost or some backup. Of course, as a Second Year, she wasn't very useful to begin with but, hey, we all start somewhere.

Alyssea followed the track into a cloud of fog and pursed her lips. Her eyes would do little to help her, so ears and other senses would have to make up for her impaired vision. Thankfully, she made all the right decisions as the world cleared up in front of her. The thorns were no issue, either. Wouldn't be ideal to bleed along the track now, would it?

She sighed, either from exhaustion or frustration, she couldn't tell. Moving through everything took a lot more work than she anticipated. Then again, this was her first race in the air and the only thing she had was experience watching others fly.

Colin and Astra were now in her sights. Seems that ascension spell finally wore off its effects. The Hufflepuff stopped beside Colin, examining his condition. His face was looking more pale than they had started, and arguably more green, too. Much like herself, he had a few scrapes. Alyssea's grip on her wand tightened.

"You don't look too hot. Everything okay?"

Calming Presence in Effect;
Colin McCoire, Alyssea Brown, & Raizel Voltrouz Affected
"Old girl?! Did you hear that, Luciana?" Piérre pressed a hand to his breast in mock insult before stroking a hand down Luciana's well polished and lovingly maintained broomshaft. "What an insult! I'm mildly offended!" Full well he knew that it was true though... the four year old broom had once been a pair of twin gifts from Mathilda to him and his brother for the purposes of Quidditch. While nimble, the broom was slow. Yes, there was a difference between the two, as he had quickly come to learn. But that nimbleness had been something the boy had come to rely on, even outside of the Quidditch pitch. On top of that... she was simply a delight to fly in general.

"She handles like a dream! Smooth and reliable, even if she is a bit wrinkled sometimes. Nothing a little TLC can't fix, though hm?" He smiled back. "Quidditch was fun but... ah... well I don't know. I guess I wasn't too happy there after a little while. Always wanted to be a Seeker but never got a chance, I guess." He chewed his lip as he went a bit further, well aware that he was being gained on. There wasn't really anything he could do about it, though... even if he was pushing Luciana to her maximum. Old reliable... but alas reliable meant that she sometimes struggled to offer the little extra kick that may have been needed to truly excel in this situation. "Dueling's fine too... but I don't seem to be any good at that either... I feel more like a punching bag than a glove."

His last duel had ended very messily...

Wind battered on all sides, and he tried to tuck in and down. They were hard winds, the kind that felt as if they could rip your skin right off your bones. It didn't help that it was cold either. It was numbing his fingers and making it harder and harder to grip with his fingerless gloves. It didn't help that his forward resistance to the wind was also tearing at him, pulling at his body back and forth in a rapidly rattling way. And, eventually, it would seem that it just became too much.

The next thing he knew he was falling. Seconds after the realization, he was skidding across the ground having landed on his left forearm and shoulder as scathing pain rippled up and down from there. Rolling and tumbling head over heels as Luciana stuck herself into the ground a few meters away, Piérre laid there motionless for a few seconds before slowly raising his head and shaking it to clear his senses. It had happened too quickly... too fast and sudden. And now he was...

"And I guess I'm bad at racing too..." He said mournfully, downcasting his eyes and trying to will himself back to his feet so he could collect his broom. It was such a heel-face turn from his original feelings of fast and furious, this sudden and terrible trench in his confidence that had once been higher than the tallest mountain. All he could do was watch as Xailah breezed by with the help of a leg-locker jinx cleverly ensuring that she didn't fall prey to the same winds as he had. ". . ." Emerald eyes simply watched on in quiet envy.

He kicked a clump of grass. "Merda!" He bared his teeth lightly. "Fine! Fine. This is fine. You expected this to happen anyways, you suck at sports. Shut up and get your broom. We can bring this back, surely." So saying, he dashed at high speeds towards Luciana. "Down but we sure aren't out." He vowed to himself in a low murmur.

Cat's Grace || Blindvision
Metamorphmagus

A little laugh- quickly lost on the howling wind- left her, at Piérre's pseudo-offense. "Do not be mistaken, she looks great for her age!" She ribbed back, happily playing into the bit of banter. An opponent she could playfully return jabs with was, admittedly, the best kind of opponent. Admiring the darling Moontrimmer from where she flew, Xailah could tell the broom- despite her light wear- was well-loved and well-cared-for. Maybe Luciana wasn't the newest broom on the field, but she still had a prominent sprightly streak running through the grains in her old wood. She flew with determination, despite the challenge the elements provided. If Piérre kept loving her like he did now, she'd surely last him for decades to come.

As she drew ever-closer to her fellow lion, Xailah could feel the winds begin to pick up. Persistent licks morphed into testy shoves. She drew her wand once more, but made a point to keep the tip pointed away from Piérre, not wishing to give him the wrong idea. As the young man unloaded his sport woes, she merely nodded; feeling it was best to just listen for the moment. "Would you go back? To Quidditch, I mean- if seeker opened up?" She questioned eventually, calling over the whippy breeze encapsulating both Gryffindors.

There was a fall in the green-eyed boy's tone as he spoke of his time on the dueling piste: doubt, so the metamorph thought. It opened the blinds to a new window of Piérre; and for a moment, Xailah wondered if the fellow wasn't as confident as he made himself appear. Surprising to consider, especially when the boy made some things look so effortless. "Dear Marchonné, you needn't be good, you need only enjoy what you do. Do not allow yourself to be anchored by a few bad days; you are, after all, one of the most talented people I know. You will find your niche in due time." It was a concept easier said than accepted. And coming from her, it probably sounded like total bullshit. However, it was nothing less than the truth, the truth being: Xailah was far from a good racer. That said, she very much enjoyed what she did. Racing had never been about winning for her. Nothing she participated in was about winning. Yes, that meager dose of serotonin felt good, but it was nothing compared to the euphoric high leading up to it.

Freedom was winning. Adrenaline was the prize.

When she felt the wind trying to pry up her fingers, she finally put her wand to use. "Locomotor Mortis." Magic settled in her bones, she could feel it in her legs mostly; the wisp of her enchantment drifting and seeking rest, like silt to the bottom of a riverbed. Her joints locked, preserving her statuesque stance on Delta. By the time she realized Piérre was no longer with her, she was already slicing through the most unyielding of winds. Peering back, there was no trace of the boy behind her, but scanning the snow below would bring her attention to a little speck in the plush blanket of white. Cupping a gloved hand over her mouth, she called down. "On your broom Marchonné, I want to see you at the finish line!"

Other's Speech = Their Hex
Still zooming high overhead, the youngest racer stayed low and pushed the Comet onward like its namesake. As Astra tucked in and floated from gust to gust up above her teammates and opponents alike, she watched the goings on with keen interest, noting each person's location on the track. Fortunately, Aurora was recovering well from the blatch and was catching up to Alyssea and Colin.

Both of those were together, at fairly good speed, each keeping up with the other. Colin still seemed to be suffering from the Curse of the Bogies, which was slightly affecting his performance, but not as much as she had hoped, frankly.

Suddenly, as she reached nearer and nearer to Piérre and Xailah, she began a shallow dive as the ascension spell wore off. It scared the young snake at first, to first have the sky in view and then to see the ground creeping into her visage, not having too look to spot Xailah and Piérre in front of her.

But, she soon realized the ascension spell was just wearing off and tried to navigate the situation with as much ease as she could. She pulled up from the dive right ahead of Alyssea and Colin but right behind Piérre, who was currently off his broom with winds rushing all around.

Astra gulped, and readjusted her grip on the broomstick.

Oh dear.. The future was not looking too bright, luck wasn’t on her side. As if it ever was. Despite trying her hardest to fly as fast as she could, she was still behind everyone. The closest people were 2 units in front of her, and she desperately wanted to be the one who got to the finish line with a style for once, not just contribute to winning. Crossing it as she spray pepper spray at her competitors would be considered as the said style. Though, for now it’ll stay as a fantasy, a distant dream. But at least Xailah was far ahead, so it should be a good sign. Right? Afterall, she’d still do the spraying thing with no mercy, winning or not. And everyone should really be worried. She wasn’t playing at all.

Amidst the fog, foliage, and the empty units with no possible threat, The ravenclaw girl slash ex prefect slash ex captain slash ex beater and seeker slash the best girlfriend in the whole wide universe clung to her broom. She may not be the fastest, but she was Aurora Ranvier, and that should count for something, anything. Afterall, the best thing usually comes fashionably late.

Colin smirked as he found Xailah coming into his sights. His heart quickened. He had c cd actually gotten pretty good at blatching. He'd bagged one already this race! He knew better than to crow about it prematurely. Xai was --- well --- Xai. A slippery target.

There was nothing fot it but to accelerate and try! He gained speed, hoping to come out victorious in this risky gambit. After a few moments of acceleration, Colin gently lined up his broom with his intended target.

Xailah remained in formation!

Excellent!

This move would be super awesome if he could just pull it off! There she was, a beautiful target! Not fifteen yards away, and then twelve! And seven and 5 and then three!

And just like that! She was gone Xailah was gone!!

WHAT!? Colin looked around! The older racer had hopped and scooted away like a rabbit down it's burrow! Drat!

Colin righted himself after missing the blatch and found himself face to face with fog. Who would have guessed that the fog would come along for the ride? Yet Colin couldn't deny it, after pelting through the fog, wisps and tendrils seemed to collect around him, obscuring his vision! Bloody hell, this didn't bode well for the inevitable patch of thorns that must surely lie ahead!

Yet through the haze of fog and the mucus packed tightly inside his nose, Colin could just make out the briar patch. He decided some random shifts to left and right might work, because he sure as heck couldn't see properly where anything was! And to Colin's delight, he managed to pass through the thickets of thorns without mishap. Surely a first for him the history of Slytherin racing!

With the worst of it all behind him --- famous last words! --- Colin set himself to zoom into the next part of the course!

The end is nearing, both teams giving it their all to grab that sweet victory. Who knows what will happen on the final stretch of this race that's soon to come.
Spells and Attacks
Team Idinnae
Alyssea is blatching Astra
Alyssea Acc [d20 : 20] + 8 = 28
Astra Eva [d20 : 14] + 2 = 16
Astra is KOB

Team 2
Aurora is casting Depulso at Colin | WDC 20
Aurora Wis [d20 : 4] + 11 = 15 | Fail
Ravenclaw Broom Racer, Aurora Ranvier is still finding herself behind others and surely enough, it was probably putting her in a not so good mood. Perhaps a good way to unleash all that pent up annoyance would be a spell but sadly, after a swish of the wand and the incantation, nothing happened. Maybe casting while riding a broom isn't Aurora's strongest suit.
UNIT 8 - MODERATE THORNS | ACC DC 18
Team 2
AURORA RANVIER
Aurora Acc [d20 : 7] + 18 = 25 | Success
Still, that didn't stop the Ravenclaw Racer as she zoomed in, inching closer and closer to the racers ahead of her, that even the thorns weren't enough to stop her, completely ignoring them like they don't even exist and receiving not a scratch from them. “Look at her go.” Raizel uttered as she kept a watchful eye on Aurora until more interesting things happened.
UNIT 9
Team 2
Aurora ends here
UNIT 11 - HARD HIGH WINDS | STR DC 15
Team Idinnae
ALYSSEA BROWN
Alyssea Str [d20 : 11] + 9 = 20 | Success
Alyssea ends here
COLIN MCCOIRE
Colin Str [d20 : 3] + 7 = 10 | Fail
Colin takes 10*5 = 50 fall dmg, is KOB
935-50 = 885 HP
Colin ends here
PIÉRRE MARCHONNÉ
Back on Broom, ends here

Team 2
ASTRA NORRICK
Astra Str [d20 : 11] + 5 = 16 | Success BUT
Astra is blatched here, takes 10*5 = 50 fall dmg
700-50 = 650 HP
Astra ends here
Just up ahead, Piérre was already getting back on his broom and ready to take flight once more. But after one rises, another one falls, or in this case, two. She couldn't believe her eyes really, the scene making her grin from ear to ear as her gaze locked onto the Hufflepuff racer. Her speed was something, not even the strong winds managing to knock her off of her broom, her eyes were filled with focus as she went closer and closer towards the youngest racers of them all, Astra Norrick.

The young Slytherin's hold was strong but that couldn't be said when the Second Year Hufflepuff rammed her full body into her, successfully knocking Astra off of her broom. Try as she may, she couldn't grab her broom, landing on the ground with a thud. Joining her was her fellow Slytherin too, Colin McCoire. With the maneuvers and strength he showed earlier, one would think the winds were nothing but perhaps the sickness from Astra's spell messed with him or after all those amazing maneuvers, he ran out of steam. Grip loosened, body falling and then a crash. The two falling off of their broom just made Raizel wince and she swore she just felt that. After all, she experienced it herself.
UNIT 13 - MODERATE SNOWFALL | STA DC 15
Team 2
XAILAH ALPTRAUM
Xailah Sta [d20 : 19] + 15 = 34 | Success
Now Xailah, she's in a league of her own. Cold wind blew, snow falling but the Lioness remained strong. Did she even feel the freezing breeze and the moderate snow? From the looks of it, no.
UNIT 16 - NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TREES (3) | ACC DC 28
Team 2
XAILAH ALPTRAUM
AM proc at 10 [3d10 : 4,9,10] 1 fail
Xailah Acc [2d20 : 8,2] + 14 = 22, 16 | all fail
Xailah takes 6*5 = 30*3 = 90 collision dmg
1470-90 = 1380 HP
While the 7th Year had been zooming without that much trouble for a couple of units now, her luck would soon run out. She's fast, that's for sure, but that's probably the reason why she crashed into a lot of trees this time. “Ooooh, ouch.” Raizel hoped that Xailah was okay after those crashes, her eyes still on the older Gryffindor to observe how she's doing. With the way she just continued after getting bruises or scratches from the branches of the trees, she can safely assume that those were nothing to her. “Bloody hell…” An excited grin appeared on her face as she watched this beast of a racer and boy, she had just become a fan of hers.

Just a reminder, this is my first time modding a broom race so please feel free to backseat the rolling that will be done in bot-spam channel in Discord if you are in there. Don't be afraid of pointing out any mistakes. I promise, I don't bite.
- As this is an unofficial race, minimum word count of 200 words is expected and site rules applies. It is up to you on how you guys will communicate with your teammates.
- Place your broom, abilities, and stats in each of your replies for ease of moderation
- And finally, have fun! Blatch each other, throw rocks, shoot spells! Heck, embrace the broom racing violence for glory.

In broom racing, solitude meant one of two things: you were leading, or something had gone horribly awry at some point on the track. In some rare cases, it could have meant both. This may have been one of those rare "both" instances, but Xailah had no clear way of telling. A flurry of fine snow obscured most of her vision, going forward, and a quick glance behind (into the similarly clouded fray) yielded no answers on where the other racers could have been. It would appear it was just her and Delta now.

It was a lonely feeling once you realized it; yet it was one Xailah had become accustomed to by now, as a seasoned broom racer. Isolation was, more often than not, an inevitable route on the pathway to success. Wherever her teammates may have been, she hoped they were at least faring better than she was at the moment.

Snow parted, like a beaded curtain, giving view to a smattering of bare trees. Despite their lack of foliage (that otherwise could have further blocked her vision, had it been there), navigating the trees was as challenging as always. The lioness swerved around one, only to smash right into another. Thwap! Crack! She didn't know if those sounds came from the trees, or somewhere inside her. Winded from the impacts, and adrenaline running high, she had no way of telling yet. Besides, it wasn't like a few potentially broken bones had ever stopped her before. So- onward!
