2023/2024 Stage 2 Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 6

The duel started. On her side of the piste, she saw Pea and Avery shoot spells to the Hufflepuffs, though unfortunately EmmaLee was able to dodge the Ventus sent her way. Besides that and some dancing and laughing from Avery, they were doing pretty good. Guinevere's own Metelojinx was conjured up smoothly from her wand, casting a shadow over the Hufflepuffs. The sudden three strikes of lightning almost jumpscared her, and when she looked back at the other side of the piste, Emma looked a little... burnt. She raised her eyebrows in surprise, not having expected her spell to have worked so well.

Emma quickly flew into action as soon as the opportunity arose, enthusiastically pointing at Avery as her target for the first round. She was kind of curious what dance would occur, although admittedly she had one in mind but wasn't sure it would stick. Emma was excited to see it land, and further enthused when EmmaLee's sell hit, even though Avery almost dodged it. Throwing up her hands, she was slightly disappointed that Julian's spell didn't land, but two out of three was better than none.

She jumped in shock at the cracker's going off, mostly focusing on EmmaLee but still causing some stinging pain. Gripping her wand, she thought that was the worst of it, but instead clouds formed over their heads. Looking on in shock, Emma didn't see the lightning arch from the clouds to right where she stood. She felt a current going through her, not really pain but an electrical shock, her body randomly flexing, and her hand tightened before relaxing almost enough to drop her wand. She caught it by the skin of her teeth before it could fall to the ground. Emma smelled something that was burning and scratched it up to the lightning that had hit, not realizing her hair was smoking slightly, giving the appearance that she was steaming mad. She wasn't mad instead determined to get back at the Slytherin team that had landed their hits so well.

Surely enough when Langstreth has announced that the duel has started, all wands are ready to pounce. It all as it always is came as a blurry explosion of lights, except it was an explosion at her end as she cast the Cracker Jinx unto Ledames the youngest compared to her other opponents. The spell shoots out of her wand and creates an impish explosion unto the girl but also her partners would receive a little impact out of her little Jinx. The White-haired smirked in satisfaction. She does miss seeing those Badgers get hit by a little flame. Although her teammate isn't as lucky as her. Leveret was becoming their main target as 2 of the Badgers managed to get their spell on him. And it indeed does not look pretty, but it was entertaining to see him Laughing uncontrollably out of nowhere. Certainly an eventful first round, with Russetwood Metelojinx also striking down Wynn with a menace, but the highlight of this round is Pritchard who was aiming his wand at the Part-Veela, got distracted out of nowhere and his wand seemed to fizzle into nothingness. Pea could not resist smirk, of course, he would be enchanted by her that he could barely cast a spell, really what was he thinking casting a spell to someone as charming as her?

27th January 2024 - Afternoon

Ahh fate. Fortune. Lady Luck. Whatever one would call it, the Badgers did not have it this round. Both the two Emmas, EmmaLee and Emma, would miss their flipendos aimed for Leveret. He would be too nimble, even if he was dancing around and laughing like a lunatic. Ah, the beauty of magic, Bea mused. It so often helped create silly situations.

Julian would be a little more successful. His ventus would aim high for the cloud overhanging them, pushing it away to land on the Slytherins doorstep. High above their heads it would now sit, an ominous cloud to darken their day. Time would tell if it truly be a thing to fear.

Luck it seemed this round was clearly on the Snakes side. Both Avery and Guinevere would hit their target. Both produced strong spells, which Bea thought might be in retaliation to the previous rounds vendetta against Avery. It would be successful as the girl would be hit in the chest and then set aflame, clothes bursting into bright orange flames. Pea would also be successful in her casting. Her spell wasn't aimed at anyone, a clear difference to her last action. This time a great big white light would burst into the room, basically blinding anyone who looked at it. Beatrice herself squinted, trying to see how the lightening would come down as thunder rumbled overhead. Three bolts came and went, but this time, the victims would remain unharmed. Truly. Fate was on their side. She waved her hand to continue, voicing her action just in case the Hufflepuffs couldn't see. "Continue! On we go!"

	----- He loved it when a plan came together. Though it wasn’t voiced, his team understood the need to push back against the drive of the badgers opposite. Avery wouldn’t be put in the corner, instead hurling a blue bolt towards EmmaLee whilst his legs continued to perform a disco jive. All the while, Avery was laughing; the kind of laugh that was sick of laughing but continued by force. It painted a very maniacal picture of the junior league duellist. Emma was struck two-fold, and a malicious grin grew on his lips; the tide was turning. “Ouch. - Need to time out?” He teased. wc: 108

The snakes definitely came to bite. Not sure about the Badgers, but all spells were flying and imploded unto Ledames. That has to hurt, but then again, she knew the risk coming into this. Whilst her partner going for the offense, the white-haired go for something that could possibly blind everyone who is watching this duel or in the vicinity of their duel. Lumos Maxima brightly exploded out of her wand. Hoping the Badgers are too blind to be able to aim for their next move. It wouldn't be as funny to see Leveret dancing and laughing for the second time.

Emma grimaced as she cast her spell, even seconds after casting she had a feeling it wouldn't hit. Something had just felt off when casting. Sure enough both her and EmmaLee's flipendo's missed the still dancing Avery. Frustrated, she wanted to just ugh... she didn't know what, but she was very frustrated. The match was not going like how she had hoped it would and her confidence was being shaken.

At least Julian would land their spell and move the cloud away from them. Emma had not enjoyed her turn as a lightning rod and would prefer to avoid that in future.

Emma winced as EmmaLee was hit, hoping the girl would still be alright. A second wince hit, and her hand came up to block her eyes, a great big white light blinding her. Obviously the Slytherin's must have cast something to blind them. Emma wanted to grumble but didn't think that would be very becoming of a prefect.

And just like that, their team was continuing the offense. Guinevere cast an Incendio Duo that hit EmmaLee at the same time as Avery's Flipendo, almost knocking the girl out, while Pea produced a blinding light that made Guinevere's eyes almost water. She looked up, and saw that her own Metelojinx had been blown back on their side of the piste. It would be really depressing if she or any of her own teammates got hit by her own lightning. Thankfully, she was able to dodge, and it seemed that the snakes had survived this round with no issues.
