Slytherin vs Gryffindor - Winter 2024

It was going to be his second game ever. Alex thought they would have a good enough chance to win. Seeing as they had won the last game against Hufflepuff. He was still second string, so he would still have more time to train until he would need to play. Unless it ended up like the last game, were he had to play. Never the less, Alex made his way to the bench as the first strings rose to the sky.

The second game of the year. In their first game - although Cash got knocked out from their broom rather quickly - the flying Cloud Cobras had done exceptionally. They had begun the new season of Quidditch strong by winning against Ravenclaw and Cash could not be more prouder with their team.
After hearing what both the Captain and Co-Captain had in their mind in terms of this match strategies, Cash mounted their broom. This time around the green eyes chose to astride their Firebolt rather than their Silver Arrow. In true formation, following both Palmer and Riddle, the Slytherin Quidditch team flew out of the pitch.
The first thing that Cash felt after the tradition flew around the pitch was how cold today's weather was. Though Cash was practically born in the month of summer, the young Ironwoods love winter more. So, the cold that they felt right now, would not be much of an issue for them. Take their position up in the air and a deep breath, their eyes scanning their surrounding.
Nodding their head to themselves as a sign of readiness, they grip the shaft of their broom a little bit tighter. And when the first blow of the whistle comes from the referee sounded throughout the pitch, Cash was more than ready to whack that nasty cannonball of a bludger with their bat.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor - Winter 2024

This was going to be Erin's final year. Her final opportunity to take on Gryffindor and to test her brawn against their own. She never had anything against the lions, they were simply felines of another breed - fickle, impulsive and often left to their pack. As the madness escaped her, she was left with the same impulses that once defined her - the want to fight, the need to strain, to grit her teeth and to bare her fangs against or into something. She was not angry, in fact she did not feel much of anything. That was just the way she was, numb in a strange way that was easy to forget. She had always lacked, lacked for something she was not able to wholly define as long as she could remember. Seeing it in her peers, the throes of teenage angst, of endless springs of passion and dramatic obstacles that in truth could be best defined as minor inconveniences only served to remind her of everything that she lacked. To make it more apparent that she did not belong. That she never belonged.
As much as these differences left her isolated, even in a room full of people, she did not feel that way on the pitch. She felt like she had a purpose on the pitch, even if that purpose was to defend, to destroy and to be destroyed. There was a cause. She had simple, clear, concise goals. One, keep the Seeker alive, Dan was too weak and frail to endure the assault of their enemies. Two, destroy their enemies, they are too weak and frail to endure her assault. To die, she is too weak and frail to survive the sum of them even if she could take any one of them on alone.
She would mount her broom, her fate already designed, and kick off. The brisk air about the pitch would leave her pink in the face as she turned the far corner of the pitch and found her place in the starting line. She closed her jacket tighter around her neck where the chill insistently entered. A look to either side, she would take an inventory of her peers. Alive still, yes. Very good. She wondered how long they would last.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor - Winter 2024
The next Quidditch game finally began on a cold winter day. Light, fluffy snow falling gently from the cloudy sky. This time they were up against the Slytherin team. Again, there are a lot of veteran players on that team, and she did hear some rumors about how notorious the Slytherin beaters are. Honestly, she was kinda glad that she was just a Keeper who only guards the loops and no need to engage much with any beaters or possible foul players on the field.
Their victory from last game truly boost her and her team's confident, but even she knew it was more of a miracle win that they managed to defeat the already experienced Hufflepuff Quidditch players. Well, like her stepdad once told her, luck is also a very special ability.
Getting into her position, her piercing blue eyes full of determination and excitement, ready for the new game to begin.

Hannah enjoyed Quidditch, a lot. It would always be her favorite sport and she loved playing in the rain. However, the girl did prefer playing in the sunny weather.
She was in her broom and completely ready and also focused. She would make sure her team wouldn't lose this game. Hannah knew that her team had won the last game, and she was very proud, and she really wanted them to do the same, however the Slytherin team was strong.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor - Winter 2024
Rhys had only signed up for quidditch because their father insisted they needed a hobby outside of hanging out with Qrowley Beithir. Well, their older brothers had both played for Gryffindor before, too, but Rhys hadn't counted on following in their footsteps. But because they were in a constant cycle of what they called 'keeping Dad off my ass', they'd signed up for the team.
It wouldn't matter, though. At least, not yet. They'd been benched this game, which was probably for the best because it would be their first game. Rhys was proficient enough on the school broom, but it was cold and they didn't feel too eager to play yet. Of course, playing would be better than sitting on the bench, but Rhys didn't mind watching. They had their hair back in dual french braids, ad was becoming their habit this year as it grew out, and they'd stuffed a Gryffindor beanie over it. They were up against Slytherin, and Rhys was betting there'd be a fair match.
Rhys kept their eyes on their teammates getting up in the air, rubbing their gloved hands together for some warmth.

☙ Quidditch Match, Winter 2024 ❧While morale had noticeably improved after their last victory, the game ahead wasn't easy. Whatever the outcome, neither Pax or Ethan could be attributed lack of enthusiasm, both had proven to be dependable players in the team that packed a mean punch. Rising little stars though they were, facing them from the other end of the pitch however were several players of great renown and ability. First and foremost was Ms. Riddle, the indomitable Slytherin Keeper whose small size belied her talent guarding the hoops. He'd teased her a little when they'd met on the train, but the truth was, scoring even one goal against her would be a victory in of itself. Second on his list of concerns was Ms. Ryan, Slytherin's star player and aerial menace extraordinaire. Hard-hitting didn't even begin to cut it, word was the bludgers themselves avoided her and her bat. Mr. Palmer was no slouch either, but Finn remembered him less for his skill and more for his commentary some games ago, if the boy didn't end up having a career in Quidditch, he certainly had the knack to go into broadcasting.
Turning to face Ethan, Finnegan offered an apologetic smile. "It was a bit much, aye, but it's the spirit that counts, en't it?" He made a mental note to spend some more time off the pitch with the boy. It was rather ridicolous that they were in the same house, same year, same team, yet hadn't really talked outside of Quidditch.
Perhaps even more ridiculous was the fact that none other than Elsian Cox was now their official Seeker. Credit had to be given where credit was due, despite the boy's near-constant whinging about wanting to take a nap, he had shown up in his gear, on time, ready to go. When push really came to shove, the fifth year could be relied upon at least. Perhaps the cessation of their hostilities in the dormitory they shared had something to do with it or perhaps the boy had some hidden sense of duty. Either way, Finnegan couldn't resist giving a curt, approving nod in the other's direction.
Once up in the air, he made sure to swerve close to Koko before the game began in earnest. She'd teased him back that day on the train, saying: are you planning on getting any taller? A bit more and you'll just be able to stand on your broom and get past me. The memory made him smile.
"Hey, Ms. Riddle! Look!" Steadying his broom with one hand he held the other up above his head as though measuring his height. "I got taller!" He hadn't practiced standing on his broom though - no matter how thin the line between bravery and stupidity got, he wasn't about to try skateboarding in the air. "Do me a favor, let one through?" He briefly put his hands together in mock prayer before speeding back to his position in the lineup, eyes firmly trained on the Quaffle in the referee's hands.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor - Winter 2024
The wind while flying was going to be sharp and biting, he could already tell. If the obvious layer of snow that’d been crunching under his feet all day hadn’t been enough, then the way the cold air froze his face and scratched at his throat with each breath would have been the final blow to any doubts.
This was the type of perfect weather for hot chocolate and naps by the fire. Maybe sledding or having a snowball fight before unfreezing your fingers inside the castle, preferably with a warm blanket to accompany you. This was not, however, the type of weather he’d have preferred for a game. His fingers already felt stiff. That didn’t bode well for the tired boy if he lost his grip on his broom…
“Says the one who tackles innocent people during practice.” He grumbled under his breath, a friendly, not so joking, callout on Finnegan being one of the most dramatic people on the team in Elsi’s eyes. The boy had no room to talk. The boy was Gryffindor spirit made into a walking, talking disaster. He could only roll his eyes in good old fashioned humor at everyones positive words and give Finn an obnoxious thumbs up at the head nod, “yay…sports...go team!”
Elsian was admittedly not the most enthusiastic person on the team, but he’d showed up on time and ready for the game wide awake so that had to count for something. Still, Elsian did little to hide his envy of his benched teammates, or rather his fellow seeker.
He sighed, dragging the small blanket that’d become a staple for his games from his shoulders as the game ready to begin and threw it towards Argahlon with a dramatic glum look. “Avenge me if I die…preferably after throwing the blanket on top of my poor dead body. It’s chilly out here.”
Elsian was not joking.
If he got knocked out he wanted his blanket back asap.
Sadly there was only so long one could stall before the game truly began and so with stiff fingers, and a numb face where the wind chilled his skin he kicked off into the air flying to his spot.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor - Winter 2024

As the young Gryffindor made their way into the Quidditch pitch, the sounds of the fans screaming and cheering on their favorite teams echoed the whole way out of the pitch itself. Argahlon had never seen or felt such an atmosphere before in their entire life. It was rather exciting, causing him to feel the adrenaline pumping through their veins, which seemed to keep him warm for the time being. "Bloody hell." He mumbled, entering the pitch itself to see hundreds of people scattered throughout the stands.
The sound was deafening, but Argahlon continued forward with the rest of his team. Some of the players were already on their brooms and ready to go. As for Argahlon, he held onto the Nimbus 1700 tightly with their right hand, while making his way towards the Gryffindor bench. He was the second string Seeker, so his duties were only needed if Elsian Cox was to get knocked out from the game.
Argahlon was still fixated on the crowd and the noise they were able to create, and that’s when he was struck by a blanket that covered his entire head in the process. A voice followed and Argahlon quickly removed the blanket, placing it over his shoulder and grinning slightly. "Oi, I suppose I can do that, but you better focus on finding that snitch, mate." He replied to Elsian’s request and finally made their way to the bench to watch the game begin.

Mellani was freezing as she entered the quidditch ground. She nodded a hello to her teammates and did a basic check on her broom. They had won the last quidditch match, but Mellani was still nervous, as she had done nothing to contribute to that win. In fact, if anything, she had probably slowed her team down. She sighed as she got on her broom, hoping that this match would be better.
