Ariella picked up some books and read their seemly basic titles, and it was quite boring. Not checking to see if Samna was following, she continued to clear up, wandering through the very much collapsed aisles. Her eyes flicked to a table on top of a pile of books. She quietly laughed to herself, wondering how it got up there. She did think about going up there to retrieve it, then realized that there was no point as even if she could scramble up there somehow, she would not be able to drag the table behind her. Instead, she went back to collecting books and sifted through a small pile of books and she recognised the book that Erin had tried to break Ariella's nose with. This must've been the area where the group had their fight. Though the fight didn't really provoke the accident, that was Howie, who had been stupid enough to send Erin into those bookshelves. Ariella decided to pop this book in her bag - sure, it would just be like borrowing a book from the library.

She had heard that Erin was still in the hospital wing. Maybe Ariella could give her a taste of her own medicine.

Ariella crouched down near a large pile of books. Perhaps it would be easy to start with this. Maybe there was She pushed a few books away and noticed a little bit of red poking out from under the books. It was an injured person - she immediately recognised her. It was a Gryffindor who was there at the time when Erin and Howie were having some sort of fight. Ariella was pretty sure that this girl had gasped or something after Ariella had slapped Erin.

Ariella pulled the rest of the books away from the student. She called out.

"Professor Lear! We have um... how do I put this?"

Ariella dragged the 'body' out from under the books.

Is she dead? She thought to herself.

Isn't it just horribly awkward when you can't come up with a quote?

River looked around at the pity state of the library, what is a fitting way to spend detention, for someone who did this?, she thought to herself. River looked over at one of the girls. She had suggested cleaning up after the owls. That did seem like a fair punishment in Rivers opinion. She was never one to hold a grudge against someone, and easily forgave others for their mistakes, wether on purpose or not. Mistakes were a part of being human in Rivers eyes, and should never be held against
someone.

But of course, mistakes come with consequences, and they needed to be met. If not, one would never learn from their mistakes.
River raised her hand calmly and said, «I support the idea of them cleaning up after the owls. Seems like a fair deal in my opinion».

So, where to begin fixing their mess... River analyzed the room in front of her. There was definitely much to be done, if they ever wanted to see the library up and running again. She looked over at some tables, I do not think I would be able to help much with the furniture, River thought to herself, as she was never a very physically strong person.
The broken books laying scattered around, caught her eyes, and seemed more like an area she might have some help to offer in. I guess I could start fixing these books over here, she did wonder how though, as she had not learned any spells yet that could help her with this task. River looked quickly around the room for any tools that could help her fix the books and get them back into a usable state. There, on a table, she could see a roll of masking tape. That was something she knew how to use.

River quickly walked over to the table, grabbed the masking tape, and got straight to fixing up the books. It was no simple task, as the books were scattered everywhere, and she would find pages belonging to books laying across the room.

After working for a while, she heard a girl call out. River did not catch exactly what the girl said, but soon after, she heard something being dragged along the floor boards, the sound echoing through the library.
River looked past one of the tilted bookshelves, eyes wide, to see one of the girls dragging something... no, someone out from underneath a pile of books.
Is that a student!?

Following the headmaster's directions, Cel shrugged and made her way over to a pile of particularly dense broken books near another girl. She wouldn't be much in the way of helping with tables, but the books seemed to be her best option, and not to mention—maybe she'd get to see something interesting, or something that she'd read. Hopefully the damage wasn't too bad. She began with the edges of the gigantic pile, where fewer books rested crookedly and miserably, but slowly began to make progress toward the center, where pages were spread wide and dog-eared corners were folded about. Cel almost wince in sympathy for the poor tomes. This area must have been right in front of a bookshelf, where the most books had fallen out.

Unfortunately, her hope of possibly finding an interesting new read to glance through and probably get distracted by was blown back out the window. The first books she picked up weren't the most intriguing. At least she could continue to help out—this wasn't the most stressful or otherwise displeasing activity, after all; the same smell of old parchment mixed with new covers stayed constant, if a bit messed up by the chaotic vista, and although the work was repetitive, it could not be counted as drudgery in Cel's memory. Her stack of rescued volumes grew rapidly until another appeared, a couple transported from the first to the second to keep it from toppling over, and another.

The young girl's work paused, stack of no fewer than six books cradled carefully in her arms, as she heard the other Ravenclaw near her called out for help. Her eyes widened, the capstone of her stack slipping off to tumble ungraciously to her feet. There was a person under there, a Gryffindor girl that the other girl had begun dragging out from under the rubble. The rest of her books almost followed the sixth, but she set them down on the table quickly enough to avoid causing any more damage. Lactic acid seeped into her sore arms as soon as the pressure left them, but a couple of shakes and stretched was enough to get it out of her system. That was a person who had been buried under those books. Good thing that there weren't any half-dead students in her area.

...Never mind.

Brushing aside a couple of wayward encyclopedias, Cel's unbalanced gaze caught on a ripple of green fabric underneath the tomes. And—look, there was a lock of brown hair, a patch of skin—no, that was a finger! A thumb, apparently. Just her luck; another crushed person in her area. There must have been a cluster of students sitting here, she realized. There might have been more people buried under the books—certainly there were piles numerous and large enough.

Right now, though, she needed to get this Slytherin out from under the books. Clawing aside the books was no issue, though it hurt to see them crash onto the floor with such indignity. Half a face was revealed, then a shoulder, then enough for her to heave his unconscious upper body out of the pile. "There's another one over here," she called. "There could be others in the area. Someone should check." Someone, not her, because wow, her arms were sore. Thankfully, the unnamed Slytherin seemed to be breathing, at least.

When it came to physical strength, Phaedra was quite pitiful. She had spent enough months working away in those library desks to know that they were far too heavy to lug around for extended amounts of time. While others started on more strenuous tasks, she decided to follow the Headmaster's second recommendation and start the cleaning process by gathering books instead. She turned away with a determined expression to stroll towards a large pile of volumes; many spread open, bent backwards, or otherwise in dreadful condition from the fall. A job like this one was something that she could handle alone, and without relying on magic, to boot.

Bending down, she began to gently pull some books from the very top of the pile to smooth out their pages and covers and stack them neatly near her feet. As tidy as ever, she made sure to face their spines in the same direction for easy identification later, humming a light tune as she did. Despite her concentration, the conversation of others did not escape her notice, especially the sudden, booming voice of Lear.

Was that punishment he implied? Phaedra stood back on both feet to glance over at him and then again at Ariella, midway between shutting a book closed. Indeed, the four rascals had brought the entire House of Ravenclaw into their mess, but Phaedra figured their injuries and the realisation that they had affected others would be a lesson enough; she was only going to hold it against them if she ever needed a favour in the future. Yet, Lear's opportunity for spiteful revenge was too good to pass up. What would she hate doing the most? That would be a good basis to start forming ideas.

Shrugging nonchalantly, she turned back to her work before piping up with, "I think they should polish the candelabra lining the Ravenclaw stairwell. Every single one, without magic." Cleaning owl droppings certainly wasn't a walk in the park, but those candles were accumulating a thick layer of gunk ever since the one time she accidentally brushed against one. She added a leather-backed book onto her stack and then bent down to pick up another. "Or... since some of them are already in the Hospital Wing... They may as well clean out the bedpans of any injured Ravenclaw for a week. Once they've healed enough themselves, of course." Phaedra knew it was a vengeful thing to recommend, but it would help the nurse out; their hands were always full after a school accident. She only had everyone's interests in mind, really!

Finished with that, she turned back and stood on her toes to place the particularly heavy book onto the heap, the tower now quickly growing past her head. Somewhere, the weight had shifted at this, and now that Phaedra was distracted with stretching out the knots in her arms, only barely was her attention snapped back to the leaning tower. Her hands shot out in a panic to press against it, and she successfully managed to slow its momentum. Phaedra removed the uppermost books from the mass and brought them into her arms, giving a relieved exhale through her nostrils. What a fine example of karma that would have been had those books fallen atop her. It was a clear sign that perhaps the bigger volume would be better spent as a base for a new stack.

Starting a new pile, Phaedra looked around at her housemates. One had managed to find a body trapped under a mound of books - and the same for another whom she shared a dorm with. Just how many others were there potentially hurt? "Oh, Merlin," she said, stepping back from her amassing collection to get a better look at the body Celynne dragged out. "I'll take a quick look around."

Samna noticed that she had got Ari's attention. She was happy that she would finally get an explanation. Samna had no idea what event could have caused this. She hadn't been in the library all that often, but she still liked the assortment of books and the quiet nature of the place. Picking up a few books and putting them on the mildly destroyed bookshelves while she listened to the story of what happened. After hearing about the violence that caused the utter destruction, Samna gasped.

"Oh my God. That's really bad! I hope you are okay. And I hope the others are okay, although I bet they learned their lesson." She said as she observed Ari picking up some more books that she had missed. She also took notice that Ari sounded...different. Not sure what it was, Samna brushed it off and continued to follow her. Following quickly and quietly behind not wanting to get in the way, a shattered, flipped over table caught her eye. Samna stopped following Ari to inspect the sight before her. Firstly, she decided to grab a nearby roll of masking tape to attempt to fix what was left of the table. Samna was able to fix it, looking (almost) good as new. Okay, maybe it wasn't the best job, but it would have to do for the time being. The next task was to flip the table over, the way it was meant to be. Underestimating the weight of the table, she picked it up and immediately dropped it on her foot.

"Ow sh-" Samna stopped herself. "Well, I guess I can't do this on my own." She said to herself, trying to find someone who could assist her. Ari was too far away from her at this point, so she turned to the nearest witch and tapped her shoulder.

"E-excuse me. Could you maybe h-help me with this table over here?" She asked, stuttering.

I haven't set up my character stats yet (I am planning on getting to it soon), but I planned for my agility stat to be around 8, so my masking tape fix would have been successful.

Allie had been absolutely devastated to find out what had happened to the Library. It was one of the only places that she was able to just sit and read book after book for hours on end between classes and her homework. Now, she wasn't one to hold a grudge, but she was definitely more than a little irritated. As she stood amongst a few other students surveying the damaged caused by such tomfoolery, she couldn't help but shed a tear at the sight of so many good books being discarded on the floor in such disarray.

Sighing a bit to herself, she listened carefully to the Headmasters words. She knew that the students who were responsible for this should be the ones to clean it up, but she also knew that if that was to be the case, then the library would be closed for weeks while everyone waited for their injuries to be healed. It was unfortunate, but Allie was slightly satisfied to hear that they would receive a punishment of their own to make up for such an event.

After hearing the Headmaster's speech she decided to be one of the students to volunteer to repair the Library to its former glory. She wasn't too sure how much help she would be with repairing the tables and chairs, but she had seen enough books be repaired in her day that she was sure it was something that she could handle. Before attending Hogwarts, Allie had spent plenty of time in her father's office at home, reading all of his books, and even causing some damage to a few older ones by accident in her youth. Watching her father work was one of the things that Allie loved to do.

The way that he carefully stitched books together and pressed the pages perfectly to the spines seemed to be almost magical itself. Allie decided that she would probably have to start somewhere. Wandering to one of the knocked over bookshelves, she crouched down and began to inspect the pile of books in front of her. She carefully investigated each book that she picked up, flipping carefully through the pages and feeling the spine of each one to assess the damages that had been inflicted on them. Allie began to make two separate piles of books on either side of her legs where she sat. The pile to her left consisted of the books with seemingly minor damages that would be easily fixed with just a bit of masking tape, while the pile to her right consisted of books that would need a bit more TLC to be mended.

A hint of fear of missing out, or "FOMO" was racing through Bloom's body. While she was waiting for Dymphna to join her, other Ravenclaw's had already begun cleaning the room. There was even a Ravenclaw who found a body. The thought of what else could be found rang through Bloom's mind. What if there actually was someone who was dead? What if there were creatures that they should not be near that was hidden between the books in the shelves? There were so many thoughts racing through her mind. Bloom only had one choice though: to keep going.

Everyone had seemed to be dealing with the furniture. Bloom thought it was best to work with the books and shelving. A library such as this one had books that spanned the centuries. There were books that were relatively new, books that were old and then there were books that were completely ancient. Perhaps she could help by grabbing these books and fixing them up. It was a shame to have broken books now because of those reckless students.

Bloom grabbed a few books from the floor and walked over to the table that she had previously flipped over. Placing the books gently on the tabletop, Bloom, standing, grabbed the first book and reshaped it to look more like a book rather than peacock feathers. Wow, it's terrible..., she thought, working hard to make the pages 'perfect' in comparison to how they were before. Once the first book was reshaped, Bloom walked over to where the tape was located and brought it back with her. She taped the first book by its bind and did the same with the other couple.

When she was finished, she kept them neatly stacked on the table, one on top of the other, using the weight of the books to help keep the tape in place. It seemed as though her helping has been going well so far. She was glad that she did not see a student's body or anything out of the ordinary. Bloom felt productive.

Once Allie had finished stacking the books in her small area into two piles, she looked around a bit to see if there was anyone who had already flipped over any tables that she could sit the heavily damaged books on. That was when she noticed Bloom in the corner with a stack of books already next to her.

'Is she binding the books back together with tape? What a brilliant idea. Maybe I can help her out a bit by bringing her the damaged books and we can get them fixed up quicker than if we were working by ourselves.' Allie thought to herself.

She stood up, albeit a bit slowly, and let out a soft groan as her left knee popped. 'Man, I'm getting old.' Allie quietly laughed at herself at the little jest. She brushed off her robes a bit before heading over to Bloom. "Excuse me, I see that you've already started to repair some of the books. I started a couple of piles of books over there in the corner. I separated them out between the ones that are heavily damaged and those that probably need just a little TLC. Do you mind if I bring them over here for you to fix? You're probably better at it than I am."

River looked worried over at the students that had been found unconsious under all the books scattered everywhere. I hope they're alright, she thought, and turned back to see all the books she had fixed, using the masking tape. I really do need to get some more books fixed, and I'm sure someone's takig them to the hospital wing anyway, theres not much I can do. She concluded and got back to putting books together as neatly as she could.

What if I find someone too? River thought, getting stressed out at the thought of having to bring someone unconsious, out of a pile of books. Or maybe even dead... Don't be ridiculus! River tried calming herself, even though, it could be, as the weight of the books and bookshelves could easily cause an extreme ammount of dammage.

River had found herself a nice space, isolated a little by two bookshelves, one of them were tilted, and resting upon the wall. She had already created three neatly stacked piles of fixed books, and decided she would check on how the others were getting along woth the restoring of the pity state of the library. She walked over to the end of one of the bookshelves, and peered by. Pushing a bit of dusty hair out of her face, she could see the others had already done quite a bit here and there. Some had started on the furniture, fixing and flipping tables. Others were, like River, stackig, fixing and sorting books.

Maybe this job wouldn't be as impossible to do as it seemed to begin with. If you squinted really hard, you could maybe even see the room start to resemble it's old library self. And the atmosphere wasn't necessarily as gloomy and sad as it was when they first entered the room. Actually, River kind of enjoyed cleaning, most often it was her own mess, but she found it kind of mind-clearing, and even a little calming. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that she could not live without system and order in her things...?
