If Julian was prone to dramatics, he might've started believing the two teams he was overseeing were strategising how to defeat each other in the way that made Julian the most miserable. First, there had been the storm cloud, which no one had bothered to dispel, instead opting to ping pong it back and forth, making Julian twitch every time a bolt of lightning struck the piste. Now, both Dealla and Pericles had conjured wizard cracker at their opponents, making Julian literally jump at the loud sounds and hasten to cover his ears, all pretense at nonchalance abandoned. Of course, at least he hadn't been hit by any of them, which could not be said for Evelynn who, for all of the spell's showiness, had been their lone victim.
Despite this, she'd managed to conjure a fog around Callie and Dealla. Alan also successfully cast yet another Reparifors to bolster Galton, who--on the other hand--fumbled his own spell, his attempt at a Confringo fizzling out at the tip. Probably to the relief of Callie, who Galton's wand had been pointing at directly, and who managed to use the break afforded to her to try to loosen the ropes bindings her wrists.

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
It seemed that Galton had been able to untie the figurative bonds to free his legs. He was back to moving in somewhat of a normal capacity, if it weren’t for the wind still circling him. But for all the progress he’d made not running into more spells, he’d forgotten to focus on casting.
Unlike previous years, failing the spell hadn’t meant a backfire. In some ways it was a relief just to see nothing fly back into his face. He’d lost a duel or two due to situations like that. Dueling was a constant reminder that no matter how magically adept you thought you were, you’d always have more to learn

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
Alan grew perhaps a little smug, the duel was going on and nearing an end and the outcome still looked good for them. However it would not do to celebrate early and keeping his focus on the situation would be crucial, a duel against Dmitri where an act of sole desperation had turned the tide had taught him as much. The fact that Galton hadn't succeeded in his spell was not ideal, but Alan was confident that they wouldn't be backing down so easily. He was aiming for victory and it felt quite close and easy to reach at this moment. What with Callie still bound and having been bound for a while, the Murder of Merlin was effectively down one duellist for about half of the duel's duration if not for longer.

Being out of action for thing long had started to prove to be incredibly annoying. So annoying in fact that Callie had resorted to thinking of potential careers that seals would he great at. Thus far she’d only managed to come up with clapping audience member or deep sea diver. Somehow she didn’t think seals would make for particularly good doctors.
Wait what was going on again? Oh right, the duel and the older people trying to murder here. That was still going on. Focus Callie! Less seals! Even if they would look adorable in a lab coat.

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
Things were looking bleak. The match was nearly over, and even though the end was in sight, it felt like they had been struggling for hours. Alan was healing all the damage they did to Galton, Evelynn plunged both of his allies in a dense fog, and that thunderstorm was once again making the fine hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. In an act of desperation, or maybe just exasperation, Peri decided to try something new. "Nec Divinos Crepitus!" While an explosive cracker might not have been the most efficient of spells, it was his first time casting that particular offense on the piste. At least the colors were pretty.
Action: As strategized.

If the Eagles wished to send torrents of wind towards her and her team, she would give them something to soak their attentions. Rising to her feet, a thick fog billowed from her wand. Although it quickly enveloped two of her opponents, it wasn't quite enough to swallow Dralt. A shame. It wasn't as though Jensen was capable of much, given her current state. Still, if she could impair even just Prince's vision for the short-term and spare herself as a target, she might have a moment to straighten her robes, reorganize her plan of attack, and save face in the shadow of her two more experienced partners.
And quite the quick thinking it was. Were it not for the veil of obfuscation, she might not have been able to dodge the burst of light that shot towards her like a roman candle. Nevertheless, a sliver of smoke rose from the hem of her robes. She didn't have time to process her annoyance before another flash in her periphery grabbed her attention. Already in motion to avoid one spell and over-balanced by another gust of wind, she couldn't quite pull herself from the radius of explosion from Dralt's spell. A hiss of searing pain accompanied her rapid retreat from the area of impact. If only she'd hazed him instead..
She rubbed at her arm only long enough for the pain to subside to a dull throb. The duel was starting to wear on her. Fatigue? Or distraction? Either way, she needed to refocus. She refused to be the weakest link.Action: As strategized

At least the colours were pretty was a shared sentiment on the Ravenclaw side of the stage, seeing as their desperation attempt of shooting firecrackers at the Gryffindors didn't seem to have much of an effect otherwise. Instead, Dee found herself once again covered in fog. She sighed, squinting up through the wafting mist at their own cloud which was threatening to strike them at any second, and wondered when she had lost her knack for strategy. Or perhaps her knack for actually hitting an opponent. "Can someone please hurry up and get knocked out?" she asked out loud. "I could really use that butterbeer after this."
"One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar."

The eagles seemed to take the next few minutes to rid themselves of all the nuisances the Gryffindor team had encumbered them with. Callie finally managed to throw off the ropes looping around her resists, with an assist from Dealla's Finite Incantatem, whiles Pericles cleared the piste of fog and cloud (much to Julian's relief). But their efforts were for naught. In a case of irony, given Dealla's earlier plea that someone get knocked out, the entire Gryffindor team managed to land their next set of spells. Evelynn's Petrificus Totalus hit Pericles square in the chest, causing the boy to go rigid as a board and topple down in way that had Julian squinting at him in concern. Alan and Galton, on the hand, had both targetted Callie, with yet another blast of wind and Blasting Curse at her feet.
The resulting explosion blasted Callie a couple of feet back. She did not get back up. "Pause! Pause!" Julian called the halt a little frantically and he rushed over to the Ravenclaw's side to ensure she was seen to and taken to the Hospital Wing.

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
Alan's gaze widened when their attempt to knock out Callie actually turned into a success. With his luck in previous duels he had not actually expected this. ."I guess Callie will owe us Butterbeer," he commented, before raising his wand once more. What now? He glanced at Eve and Galton. Well they would figure out how to proceed.

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
As though the universe was answering Prince's plea, the match was brought to a sudden halt. Mixed emotions spread across Evelynn's face as Jensen was taken away for tending. On the one hand, Evelynn's shoulders seemed to relax with the removal of an Eagle. On the other, her gaze lingered on that lifeless body for longer than than it otherwise might have. And when it finally drew away, she shot a piercing look at Prince, as though she were weighing something in her mind to come to some sort of conclusion. She'd meant to target Dealla, and for a moment before the match was interrupted, she'd thought she had succeeded. As the dog and clouds finally cleared, however, it was Dralt who lay motionless on the ground. Well.. perhaps they could turn that to their favour.Action: As strategized
