Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
Alan seemed to be successful in his attempt to target the now bound Callie once more, while the girl was actively watching out for attacks. So truly he deserved a pat on the shoulder for that, did he not? However the Ravenclaw team was also aiding her, loosening the ropes that coiled around the eagle's upper body. Alan glanced over to Galton who had been hit. "You alright?"

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
Duels were distracting. There was so much going on, it was often hard to keep track of it all. Even with Galton's experience, the new three person teams made him feel a bit like he did when we first started. Overwhelmed. That would translate into his movement - taking a shaky step as he attempted a dodge and landed on his ankle. It was frustrating to lose one's footing in such a manner. Painful water (much, much more painful than the first shower he took) blared into him and rocked him back.
"Hey - I DON'T smell!" He would shout over to the birds as he wiped excess water from his face. He'd turn to Alan and reassure him. "Yeah - say, you ever notice that magic water has a slight... flavor to it?"

What was going on again? Oh, right. The pummelling and general misery. Rather than craft elaborate theories on what she did in a past life this time around her mind drifted off to thoughts of food. More specifically the concerningly large meal she planned to scarf down after this. A steak...or perhaps a four course meal? The potential was limitless and enough to make you drool.
"Huh? Did someone mention bagels?" Nobody mentioned bagels, Callie was just coping with thoughts of food.

"Aqua Eructo!" The aspen wand was jutted sharply in Galton's direction, and Pericles huffed a short breath of relief on seeing the spell strike. Galton was a wily one. His eyes darted with a tense squint upwards as the cloud arrived overhead again, that ominous, rumbling force of nature being batted between the two teams like the world's scariest tennis ball. Trying not to think about how dire their situation was, he hollered above the cacophony to Callie: "What's a beigel?"

Peri finally landing a hit on Galton was a small break, Callie getting pummelled by that Ventus was... not. Neither the fact that she was still bound despite Dee's help. At least the burning hell that were Dee's eyes seemed to think she was suffering enough and the swelling started going down along with the pain, but it still left them in a bad spot. The cloud was back overhead, too. Hmm.
"It's like a donut, just not sweet," was her absentminded reply to Peri's inquiry, as she tried to decide on a plan of action.

The smirk that had previously found itself to Evelynn's lips quickly soured. Even impaired as she was, Callie managed to avoid the worst of the gale that Evelynn had sent her way. Perhaps some solace could be found in just how near a miss it had been, and that preoccupation with dodging her own attack may have allowed Vanes' to strike squarely. Judging by the scowl that had taken hold, however, silver linings were being left to the cloud above. The Gryffindors were certainly holding their own and Evelynn wasn't proving to be any sort of liability, but neither had she been able to directly contribute to any possible victory. Mounting frustration from this fact was easily evident by the strain in her grip and withdrawal from any banter with her teammates.Action: As strategized

The next round of moves was just as eventful, if not more, than the previous one. Callie had finally managed to wrestle free of her binds (impressive, considering she was still caught in Alan's Ventus spell), only for Alan to conjure a fresh set. Galton seemed to have retreated back into a strategy of disrupting his opponents, conjuring a flock of birds to harass Dealla and Pericles. His strategy was only partly successful. Dealla's two gusts of wind, directed at Evelynn and Galton, went wide and were dodged respectively, but Pericles' own Ventus spell managed to connect, with one gust of wind pushing the lightning cloud back towards the Gryffindors and one gust of wind pushing against Galton himself. Evenlynn, meanwhile, took advantage of Callie's current precarious position to land her own Ventus hit against her, keeping the Ravenclaw engulfed by wind.

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
Dee's passing insight on the nature of beigels bagels was answered with nothing more than a low "Ah." The short response could be interpreted one of two ways: perhaps Pericles was back to affording the match the concentration it deserved, or he didn't know what a donut was, either. Maybe both. Whatever the case, strain was evident in his freckled features. There was a telltale furrow to his forehead, an uncanny sharpness to his eyes, and the hint of a rare scowl hardening his mouth. Pericles had successfully split another spell, making contact with both the overhead storm and an opponent. But it was wearing on him. His nose even crinkled in irritation as a flock of birds swarmed both himself and Dealla. Weren't birds his "thing" nowadays? Could he communicate with them outside of animagus form, willing them to bugger off? The conjured creatures likely lacked the faculties to understand him even as an eagle.

Dee's nose scrunched up in this disgust as she was swarmed by birds again, her spells missed again, and Callie was bound... again. Something must have upset the cosmic energies of the universe today - if you believed in such things - because even with their opponents as strong as they were, things shouldn't be going this terribly. She had enough faith in her abilities - and those of her partners - to believe that. Or perhaps, she mused, she'd just been too distracted lately. Paid too much attention to the mess that was her love life to be as focused on duelling as she should be. And she didn't even have a boyfriend to make up for it who she could rant to when this was over. A bad deal, it seemed.

While Callie may have actually been tied up, Galton was moving as if he was too. He tended to pride himself (not that pride was rare when it came to Galton) on his quick feet. Such poor foot work stung almost more than the magic spells that had crashed into him. Had he gotten lazy in his training? Or maybe he was too focused on trying to smell himself?
He wouldn't have been so distracted trying to check his scent if it wasn't for the Murders' repeated focus on giving him a spa day. Water and now a blow-dry?! Maybe this was their plan the who time - get in his head. It was time for a deep breathe or two (easy with all this nice wind) and refocus. He didn't smell.
Action: Enjoying the spa day
