It seemed the fire, once again had left the piste. Metaphorically and not physically as Guinevere burned away, the fire eating at more and more of her skin. Both duellists seemed to put in their all for the spells, but it would not be. Beatrice watched as both spells flared across the piste. Emma was wanting to blind her opponent, a sweet red ribbon coming out of her wand. It would fall short though, coming to an end just before Guinevere. Was that how it was going to be for the Hufflepuff? Bea wasn't sure herself. Guinevere would also be effected. Possibly by the flames, possibly by the pressure. Her own flaming payback would easily be evaded by Emma, the fire flying past the prefect and into the unknown. It was coming to the pointy end of the duel now. Who would win...?

Emma had made a split second decision to go for a blindfold. She watched as it emerged from her wand, a dark red that she had no idea where it came from, but sadly the bold color would not help with her confidence. The ribbon fell sadly just before hitting it's target and Emma wasn't sure whether she wanted to groan or snarl, ready for the match to come to an end, preferably a favorable one. Either way, Emma's frustration came in handy as she was able to easily dodge the flames that Guinevere sent her way. She had no desire to be the victim of Incendio again. The flames had not been pleasant in previous duels.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 6

The duel was stretching on and on, and it was starting to get tiring. This round, both she and her opponent missed their spells, a half-relief, since the flames from last round were still burning away on her sleeve.
Her luck with the lightning also seemed to run out, as the bolt struck the floor very far from her opponent. Disappointing, but she would just have to deal with it.

Again it would seem that the pressure of the duel was becoming too much. Guinevere would cast another fiery spell towards Emma, who out of sheer will was able to evade once more. Emma would try and cast another obscuro, but her wand wasn't having it. The ribbon would fly out of the spell, but instead of it's intended target would come up to wrap around her own eyes. What a disaster! A big boom would follow with the lightening raining down. Once the blinding flash disappeared, Beatrice could see that Emma was still standing. It seemed Hufflepuff was still in it... for now.

It seemed like time had slowed way down. Emma didn’t know what to think but she honestly felt like she was at least holding her own. Deciding to try to make Guinevere stand still by blindfolding them, Emma recalled the incantation she needed. Speaking clearly, she focused on I want the win, I want the win. And that was not good enough. Instead of blindfolding the opposing duellist, Emma was shocked to see the blindfold fly back at her. The world went dark and she groaned, unsure of how she would be able to cast anything that would land now.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 6

It seemed like some cruel joke from the universe that when she needed her spells to land desperately, they just wouldn’t. Neither would her lightning, or her opponent’s spell, but that was good for her. Instead, Emma’s Obscuro backfired, blinding her instead. Although it was a good thing, she still was quite bothered by the fact that she hadn’t aimed correctly for two rounds now. No matter how annoying that fact was being, she had an advantage on the next round. The end was nearing, for better or worse.

Finally, fate, the universe, the gods or whatever you called it would allow someone to hit. Poor Emma stood groaning at her poor misfortune. The blindfold was quick to disappear, being removed from the prefects face. Emma seemed to want to get back into this duel quickly and with no other teammates in the game still, Bea knew she'd want to be able to have some sort of advantage for her House.
Guinevere would be quite lucky this round. Due to the blindfold around Emma's eyes, Guinevere would finally be able to hit the Hufflepuff. Emma wasn't able to see the hot fire coming her way, and it would end with becoming alight. At least Emma was lucky as lightening once again came down from the sky, but missed her blinded form.

Emma frantically scrabbled at the blindfold currently across her eyes, her fingers slipping on the fabric as she tried to push it up and off. All of a sudden, the telltale heat and crackle of flames rose on Emma's robes, and she grit her teeth. She really didn't like Incendio after last year, she would have preferred any other spell. Finally she successfully managed to push the blindfold off, almost dropping her wand as she did so. Clutching it tightly, Emma reminded herself that it couldn't be too much longer before the duel would come to an end and she just had to make sure she kept standing.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 6

Seeing her opportunity, the Slytherin tried for an Incendio Duo, for the third time now, and it finally came into contact with her opponent. Guin was getting increasingly more worried about her situation. Would there be enough time to get Emma out? Plus, she was quickly running out of ideas.
She realized she couldn't let those thoughts take over. She had to just stick to what she had practiced and focus in. Be strategic about this, Guin, she thought.

The lucky last round. Emma now with her blindfold off would hesitate to cast a spell...on herself. Even whilst burning she would manage to do what was needed for the healing spell to take effect. Which it would do so just before Guinevere dancing feet spell would come for her. Guinevere, who to Bea looked like she was trying to get a last ditch effort to win the match, cast and succeeded. But it wouldn't be enough to win. Emma, thanks to her dodging prowess and healing skills would be the victor in this 1 vs 1. Spells cast, Bea called time. "Alright! That's it!! Wands down!! Hufflepuff looks to be in better shape than Slytherin." She assesed both duellists before shouting, "And for that, Hufflepuff are the victors!" Smiling at them both, Bea couldn't be prouder. Of them and herself. Her first time officially moderating and it had gone amazingly well.
