2023/24, Stage 1 Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 7

The look that came from Bea was one that foretold she would decimate the Slytherins. Missing twice, really thrice, in a row was not good. It wasn't an option in her arsenal. And yet it had happened. But it would not again. She would succeed. The only satisfaction she got was watching Sams' incendio succeed, the hungry flames eating their way through Averys' clothing onto his skin. It was at least a reminder of why the Ravenclaw team were called Murder of Merlin.

This duel was going a lot less smoothly than Samantha had imagined before. There were a lot of missed spells, in both her team and with the others. That the others missed wasn't something she would complain about but she did need to step up her game. Aiming her wand at Avery, she casts ibcebdio duo his way. With a satisfied grin, she watched the fire dance. That was a good spell.

Another dodges from the Ravenclaw boy. It has started to get on her nerves. All her spells have missed or worse, backfired on her own teammates. Well, the only positive thing is that she has not received a single blow from their opponents. Perhaps they are targeting her younger partners first. Kill them young, it seems more like a Slytherin move, she might say. Those birds certainly come to hunt, but the snakes refuse to be the prey. It's time to show some fangs.

The fire and wind caught by Avery appeared to put the Slytherin team on the defense even more so as only Pea opted for an attack. Avery continued focusing on his dodging prowess, hopefully to a better capacity than before, while Mahlioz worked on extinguishing the flames with a quick spell cast. It was speedy enough as the boy seemed to have no additional injuries outside of the initial impact. Still the first hit dealt quite a blow, a bit of a difficult situation to be put in so early in the duel.

The targets remained the same though, intent on getting Zach, Mahlioz, or Avery out as soon as possible with little focused turned to the others quite yet. Pea focused her wand on the Ravenclaw target, replicating the previous Wind Jinx yet hoping for a different outcome. And that she would find as the spell shot forth across the piste and pinned the boy back with a sharp, pummeling gust. A strong redemption after the casts before.

Despite having 3 teammates, Ravenclaw split their targets evenly as Beatrice went for both while Zach aimed towards Avery and Samantha directed her attention towards Mahlioz. Zach, successfully casting this time, found no purchase for his Knockback Jinx as the spell flew to where the Slytherin had been rather than would be. Lea would admit it could be hard predicting where other people would be heading and Avery's intent focus in this matter wouldn't help the Ravenclaw boy out. Nor would it help Beatrice out as her split attention cost both Flipendo strikes as they seemed to miscalculate the distance between both opponents and veer far off course- no shrill noises needed this time for Mahlioz.

Samantha would also go for the Knockback Jinx although suffered a worse fate than her teammates. The spell still cast but rather than missing the opponents, her wand showered her with blue sparks as the force shoved the Ravenclaw back instead. The power behind the cast was impressive, Lea certain that Mahlioz would have had serious injuries had she been hit. But for now, everyone was left standing with their rather mixed luck and 7 rounds left on the clock.

No, no, no, no. This can't be real. Zach was very mad at the result. Previously, he failed to cast the spell. And now, he missed shooting his fancy Flipendo at Avery. Not to mention he also struggled with the Ventus effect. The condition of his seniors also seemed not good. The Ravenclaws failed to cast their spells. "Come on, Zach!" He murmured. The boy looked at his opponent sharply.

And with that, another sinking feeling. This was actually getting ridiculous. She'd missed so many times know it was a joke. She was becoming a laughing stock. Gritting her teeth as she watched both of her targets easily evade the spells, she looked at her team mates in horror. Zach has been hit with ventus, the sweet little edges of the harsh wind blowing against her. Sam. She recoiled in horror at Sams fate this round. Why, oh why did her wand have to hate her?! Glancing at both of her partners, she nodded in commiseration and encouragement. They would win this.

Her wand might actually needs to be threaten to be snapped and carved into splinters before it does what the part Veela desired. And surely, her next wand movement actually shoot out a strong gust of wind that manage to stagger the Ravenclaw boy she was aiming for. Maybe it is only tough love that only can get through the stubborn piece of wood. And the second it backfired or have a mind of their own, honestly, the white haired really should consider paying a visit to Ollivanders.

There must have been something in the air, something that was messing with her head, her dueling skills. Not a single duel before this one had been going so bad. The young girl had already been fed up with the duel, but when her own flipendo backfired she cursed softly. A year ago, you would have never heard Samanatha curse, but she had changed and this was just too frustrating. She avoided looking at her team mates, causing her to miss Bea's encouraging nod.

This duel was cursed. It had to be.
