Attempting to make lantern with Sherlock |

![]() |
Kaya noticed that mood between them changed once they could hear her classmate and she turned her attention for a while from him. Maybe he had some bad experience that this moment reminded him of? You know, when we just arrived to Hogwarts and were sitting there eating, from everyone who was there I noticed you. That's why I was happy I could talk to you while we were going to our schools' cabins. She paused, smiling sincerely at the memory. When we met to go to ball together, I noticed you coming and, Sherlock, you are so awesome person. And I don't mean just appearance. Your inner world is so shining and has its own beauty, so don't let others make you feel bad. Those who want to know you, will always notice you. There was understanding in her voice and she hoped her support sounded not bad as she truly didn't care about others. Kaya wanted to spend this evening with Sherlock, know him more and simply enjoy the time together. However, now she had a new purpose, she wanted to make him feel happier. She finished her lantern and noticed that Sherlock didn't do his own. The reason behind it Kaya understood from his reply to her offer to make one together. Ah, dear, don't worry about it and what other people can think. Give it a try and I am sure it's going to be awesome. Sherlock, I sincerely don't think you could ever do something bad, no matter if it's decorating lantern or anything else. Kaya looked at Sherlock, and for a second became serious. I never tried to do something like this with someone. It would be special to share it with you, no matter what we will get at the end. However, I am quite sure the result is going to be wonderful. So, would you like to give it a try and do it together? Kaya smiled and wondered when she ever cared so much about making another person feel awesome. She believed she's kind and caring, quite adventurous and enthusiastic, but when did she ever thought so much about how to make another one happier. Kaya didn't know, but something about Sherlock was rather special that made her want to see him feeling great. You know, I'd really love to meet with you else while we are in Hogwarts. And I believe I'd love to meet you even when we return to our schools. It would be awesome to know you even more. |

•❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅•——————✧◦♚◦✧——————⋆•❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅•What started out peaceful and merely like a dream full of glowing lanterns floating around seemed to turn to nothing but disaster. Which did not seem to surprise Helena much.
First was when Alyssea shot out sparks. The next thing happened when Rodney ended up moving a bit and the boat tipped over. Everything happened quickly that Helena had no idea what to do besides brace herself for the icy cold water as she plunged under.
The stinging of the frigid ice cold water stung Helena’s pale skin as she resurfaced the young girl gasped for air, her sea blue eyes holding nothing but fear as she scanned the area around her. Noting none of her friends had resurfaced Helena felt a fear bubble inside of her. The young girl's mind began racing as she kept examining her surroundings. Noting none of her friends had resurfaced. Helena gritted her teeth and her mind seemed to be swirling with many thoughts as she felt fear take over.
Helena huffed slightly, taking in a good amount of air the young girl plunged under the water. Her eyes cracked open stinging from the lake's water as she scanned the area.
Helena saw her friends being dragged under by the grindylows. The young girl thought carefully of what to do Grindylows were finicky and territorial if she remembered quickly from the books that she has read about them in.
Helena shook her head slightly; this was not the time to just think. Glaring slightly Helena moved as quickly as she could to the first person that was nearest her and that was a certain second girl with blonde hair.
Helena noticed Madison struggling to get free from the grindylows grasp. Helena thought carefully that if she involved herself it would put herself in danger, but at this moment her friends were in danger and she had to act quickly before anything serious happened.
Helena swam as fast as she could moving closer to Madison once the young first year got close enough to Madison she saw the older girl fighting the sea creature with a calm presence around her.
As Helena approached Madison Helena thought of a more sane way that could help her friend. Helena thought carefully as she grabbed Madison's arm and tried to tug her out of the grasp of the grindylow's grasp may not have been the smartest decision but it was a decision nonetheless.

They had arrived. Poor him, the lighting couldn't help any better him to see clearly. “There's a boat?” He squinted his eyes until he looked like a sneezing fox. “I think they did. I hear splashes.” At least the boy had an ability to use his other senses when his eyes didn't work well.
The splashes became louder to his ears. It made him to be more sure that someone (or some people) drowned in the lake. “Uh, yeah… We should…” Zach was hesitant. It wasn't like he didn't want to help them. He just didn't know what to do. He looked inside his satchel. Papers, Tyty, camera, ink. He sighed. Nothing inside his satchel could save the drowning students. Tying the papers together to make a rope? Nope. It was silly.
Once again, he sighed. The only way in his mind was to take a boat and ride it. But, he didn't want to. There was no guarantee that he wouldn't drown while riding it. He couldn't swim! Besides, he had styled his hair. It took him a long time to style it. But what else could he do? The sound from the lake forced him to take an action. His heart felt really bad if he didn't do anything. “Should we take a boat? Is there any boat left?” The idea finally spurt from his mouth. He gave the brown-haired girl a resigned look.

| ─── | Tone nodded at Eun-ji's words.
It was surprising that she hadn't made any before but he wasn't surprised that she was good at picking it up. She seemed quite elegant and sophisticated to him. Brimming full of talent and potential, something that he felt like he lacked for the most part. At least that was what his parents had told him on the rare times they actually spoke to him. Tone nodded as Eun-ji went on to explain how to do things. He picked up on what she taught him relatively fast and soon he was able to finish up his own creation. It looked lovely to him. Tone glanced up as Eun-ji spoke, something about 'apparently not' which didn't make sense to him. What was it? Before he could ask what she meant, Eun-ji suddenly cursed in Korean. Even though he didn't know the language well, he could tell when someone cursed in their language. That was definitely a curse word, or phrase. Eun-ji turned to him and then told him to stay there. But then she changed her mind and suggested he go find an adult to help. What was going on? Since Tone had been busy finishing up his lantern, he hadn't seen what Eun-ji had seen. The noise of the festival had also masked what had happened off in the distance. So only those who had been looking in that direction at the time probably had seen what had gone on. As Eun-ji rushed off to give her assistance to the unfortunate ball-goers who had fallen into the lake, Tone's eyes followed his date as she reached her destination and spoke to another boy there. One who seemed around the same age as her too. The fourteen year old's dark eyes flickered over to the lake's surface and saw a few students floundering around in the water. Tone's brow furrowed with concern. Being in water like this was dangerous. There were various creatures and beings who lived beneath the depths he had heard about. And they probably didn't like being disturbed by witches and wizards above the surface like this. If Tone had been alone and witnessed this, he would have gone to help them out. But as it was, this was a foreign school and there were many students already there who looked like they were helping out. There was no need for Tone to interfere, he could be a hindrance if he got in the way of the others. Plus, he didn't see any of his fellow Mahoutokoro students there at the moment. So he didn't need to try and help, at least for right now. The best thing he could do was go for help. Another student had already sent up the Red Sparks Charm, alerting adults to the current situation. But that would only let the adults know the general area the problem was. Tone decided to wait near the area the Red Sparks Charm had gone off and when the adults came, he'd take them over to the scene of the 'crime' taking place. Once the adults (whoever they were) arrived at the location, Tone would raise a hand into the air and wave at them. "Over here! Some students fell into the lake and seem to be getting dragged down by grindylows!" Tone exclaimed, hoping the adults would be able to take care of all this. The pink haired teen looked around for some sign of Eun-ji but didn't see her, which meant she must have been in the water. "I think more students went into the water to try and save the ones who fell in and got attacked by the grindylows!" Tone told the adults, peering out across the vast water before him. The lanterns Tone and Eun-ji had made earlier were being carried by him in his arms. He hadn't wanted to leave them out on the table back there because he'd been afraid they would be destroyed or lost. A light breeze blew through the long red sleeves of his robe as he waited. |

Interacting with Achille Lévesque-Auclair (played by @Rhys Read) as Zendra Blanchet
Zendra perked up at the sound of Achille's voice.
“Hi,” he greeted, and she spun around to greet him. He wore an adorable nervous smile that matched Zendra's own as she took him in. He’d gotten quite a bit taller over the summer, and since she'd barely grown an inch, he was now even higher above her. His hair had grown out a bit, but it was hardly noticeable. All in all, he was mostly the same beautiful boy that Zendra had met at the Spring Court.
Before she could return the greeting, Achille spoke again. “You look like a princess in your dress,” he added. Zendra blinked in response and let out a light laugh.
She had never been good with compliments, and her mother wasn't one to give many out. Her father, while absent, had never had a problem with complimenting her, but it always felt rather fake. Like, did he actually care, or was he just saying it as an apology for being absent for the last seven months? So, one couldn't judge Zendra for not being entirely at ease with words of affirmation, and she usually wasn't. However, instead of making her uncomfortable, Achille's compliment warmed her skin, almost like someone had just slipped a soft blanket around her. It was a feeling of security that she sorely lacked in her day-to-day life, but Achille gave it to her with just a few words. Blushing, she smiled up at him as he blushed back. She didn't even notice the bouquet in his hand until he moved to hold it out for her.
“I got these for you,” he said. Taking the bouquet, she leaned in to smell them. They were very pretty, and Zendra thought that the different hues of blue would look gorgeous against Achille's navy suit and golden hair. That gave her an idea. Pulling one flower from the bunch, she got up on her tiptoes and, with a bit of difficulty, tucked it into his suit pocket. Then, she grabbed another and tucked it behind her ear.
"There," she said with satisfaction, "Now we're matching." For a few seconds, Zendra nervously stood there, not quite knowing what to say. Finally, she asked, "Do you, uh, want to go paint some lanterns?"

❂《 ⌜ October 6, 2023 ▎ 19:00 ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔"I'm pretty sure those are boats… but they looked empty." First of all, whose idea was it to let kids onto a boat with the possibility of falling off and drowning? Well, it seems fun until you find yourself in the cold waters.
Raizel watched as Zach looked through his satchel, giving hers a tap. She knows that she only has her potions in there and none of them are useful in this situation. Gillyweed would definitely be useful but where are they supposed to find one and they needed to do something now.
This was turning out the same as last time. For some reason, despite the dangers, she feels the need to do something, to help out but what? Do they take a boat and get in there? Putting themselves in danger for the sake of others? That's a Gryffindor move right there. Then again, she doesn't want to meet her doom in those waters.
Her friend's action was the final thing she needed to make the decision. She turned to look at him, quite surprised to hear him suggest to find a boat. He's willing to risk it huh. Now that's something. As a Ravenclaw, she probably expected for him to do the most logical thing which would be… finding an adult or letting the older students handle it but no. Oh boy.
"Let's see if there are any lying around." She told him as she began scanning around for any boat that they could take and use it to help. Oh, this is a bad idea, no, terrible even. If this was part of the event then surely they had prepared tons of boats for it and there are. "We get in there, there's no turning back. Hope you can swim cause I can't." She said with a nervous grin at Zach.
How lovely this evening is turning out to be.

Zach nodded. So there are boats, he thought. It was actually fun to ride a boat unless you heard some splashes in the lake and saw periculum in the sky.
The boy followed Raizel to check on the boats. Well, he couldn't decide which boat they must take. So he would rely on the Gryffindor's judgment. He just hoped she got the best boat. Or at least, the safest one for them to sail on. “Uh… Sure…” Zach still had hesitation but he won't turn back. His cool appearance would be ruin if he chickened out now.
Zach got on the boat and his sight caught a glimpse of rows. He had never rowed a boat before. The idea of rowing a boat somewhat gave him a spark of excitement. He wanted to row the boat. Didn't know what had happened to the Ravenclaw. It seemed an error had occurred in his way of thinking. Maybe it was the side effect of the Crinus Muto. “Let me row the boat.” The thin boy took the row.
“Let's sail!” The boy excitedly rowed the boat and made them sailed farther from the shore. “Oh yeah. This is my first time rowing a boat. But rest assured,” Said the boy who was nearsighted. The girl risked her life on his excitement and confidence.

Thoughts
At first, she'd been rather gloomy and disappointed to be left behind. She hadn't gotten into a boat at all - Renelle and Astra needed some time alone, and the second year didn't feel like getting into a boat on her own. Astra had been her date. She wanted to stick with her. But the universe seemed to think that Mahlioz didn't deserve to spend a nice ball with someone else. First there'd been the Spring Ball last year, where she'd become friends with a Gryffindor named Raizel, but she had had other things to get to, and now Astra and Renelle had other things to get to.
It's not like she blamed any of them. It was just that she was feeling rather lonely and left behind. She watched, sitting at the edge of the lake, as the boats left the shore and people started sending their lanterns into the sky. It was beautiful, and Mahlioz felt a twinge of jealousy.
And then the chaos started. People started falling from their boats. That would have been awful enough on its own - it was late, both in the day and the year, and the water was definitely freezing - but it didn't stop there. Mahlioz was too far away to really see what was going on, but she could hear the shouts.
People were getting attacked underwater. Being pulled towards the bottom. Getting drowned. Mahlioz leapt up, though she knew she couldn't do anything about it. She just had to watch from the sidelines as people struggled to stay alive. Was it the giant squid? Or something else? She felt like too many people were getting drowned for it to be the giant squid. It only had eight tentacles, right? So what was going on?
Though she couldn't see much of what was going on, she did see when Astra and Renelle were pulled in. The second year nearly screamed. They both managed to get free of whatever was dragging them underwater, and they got back on the boat, shivering. Mahlioz didn't know what to do. She wanted to help, she wanted to swim out there and do something, but there was nothing she could do.
And as much as it must have been horrible for the girls who had fallen in, Mahlioz could still feel a tiny bit of jealousy at the back of her throat. Because sure, they had had a near-death experience, they were going through something awful. But at least they were part of it. At least they had each other. They were going through something with each other. Mahlioz was just watching, alone. She shook the thought from her mind, telling herself she was selfish and that wasn't okay, but... it still hung on, as much as she hated it.Stamina: 6 | Evasion: 6 | Strength: 4 | Wisdom: 9 | Arcane power: 7 | Accuracy: 8

Blue in English, Red in KoreanThankfully, despite the dangers lurking underneath, both of her and Peri made it to their targets safely. Once close enough, Eun-ji didn’t hesitate to point her wand at the Grindylow, pulling Marietta down and her spell was cast successfully. Unfortunately, it didn’t hit. It was not all that surprising, considering the trashing from both the Grindylow and the young student suffering its grip. Still, that didn’t mean the witch wasn’t frustrated with herself for failing. “Aish…” Similar to ‘Damn it’ in Korean. She cursed quietly. Luckily for the Hufflepuff, Eun-ji was not someone to give up easily.
She checked on Peri and his friend briefly. The boy seemed to have freed himself of the troublesome creature but he was not coming up. It looked like he didn’t know how to swim. Why would someone, who can’t swim get into the boats floating on a lake filled with monsters was completely beyond her comprehension but that was not important now. “If you are planning to pull him up, do it from behind. Grab him in chokehold if you have to. Don’t let him pull you down as well.” She warned her fellow Ravenclaw. Frankly, if they were following the protocol, they shouldn’t have jumped into the lake at all. Trying to save a drowning person was often a death sentence for the rescuer. However, seeing that there was no adult nearby and they had magic to aid them, it felt like they should at least try.
After her quick warning, Eun-ji immediately dove down for Marietta once more. She was more grateful than ever for the successful bubble head charm. Peri really saved her a lot of trouble by casting that particular spell on her. “Relashio!” She pointed her wand at the stubborn Grindylow, which was now pulling the younger girl even further bellow. There was no time to lose. Too many children underwater that needed helping…she needed to work fast and only hoped no other young kids would get the genius idea to jump in. Especially if they couldn’t swim, like Piérre.

Colin practically vibrated when Clair complimented him. He stood up a little taller and smiled a little broader when she did. Clair really did a power over Colin, and he wasn't complaining about that one bit! As always happens around the Ravenclaw girl, Colin's entire world sort of narrowed and closed in. He knew there were other kids around. Even knew quite a few of them. He was pretty sure he could hear Qrow's voice down in the water, and he'd seen Astra and Luci. But --- really, his focus right now was the space around him and Clair.
"MRR."
And Greebo.
Colin let a puff of air when Clair said she hadn't seen anything evil that needed fighting. "Well, it's still early lass! You never know when the evil Liche King might show up with his hordes of evil werewolfian warriors! And!" Colin watched as Clair's finger brushed across her hairline. He narrowed his eyes dramatically, as if preparing to criticise some wayward follicle. He reached out with one finger, found a single wayward brown hair and delicately scooped it up and over Clair's ear. Colin smirked. "There! Perfect!" Colin loved Clair's hair. It was so soft!
"Oh!" he cried. "Hair problems! I was practicing me hair styling charm, Clair, only I pointed me wand at the mirror instead of me hair!" Colin slumped dramatically, making an exaggerated face palm gesture. "By the time Liam and Ci arrived to help, my hair must have been a thousand feet long! It just would nae stop growing! And I lost me wand and everything! But we got it sorted! I hope ye like it! I did it short and coloured!"
As if Clair couldn't see that his hair was in fact short and spiky and had a curious feathery pattern of iridescent green and black with undertones of brown to match Clair's hair and even some subtle streaks of opalescent blue to match her eyes. Of course, he kept the long thin braid that fell down over his left breast and had two raven feathers sticking in. The braid was a little longer than the wolf fang necklace he customarily wore around his neck.
Colin tried to hold back a laugh when he surprised Clair with a kiss. At least she wasn't running for the hand sanitiser and anti boycootie potions anymore!
He gave her another quick kiss for good measure!
She turned away slightly, and changed the topic from kissing. Colin smiled inwardly. Clair Fernandez had proven to be a most difficult girl to attract; and was continuing to prove to be a tough nut to crack. But Colin, if he was anything, was persistent! And also persuadable by anything involving getting into the water!
Whether Clair had chosen the boats as a ruse or if it were by accident that she asked his if he'd like to go for a boat ride, Colin's eyes lit up at the suggestion! "A boat ride? Sure!" Colin clasped hands with Clair and tore down towards the lake, both of their plaid dresses swaying madly! With a laugh, he cried: "Come on firstie! To the boats! And to adventure!"
