"The temperament of Hippogriffs can be quite interesting," Daphne began with a thoughtful look. "It's really a matter of their current mood. You see, these majestic creatures are incredibly regal, and they have a keen sense of honor. When you meet them, it's almost a tradition to bow as a sign of respect. Failing to do so might be seen as a lack of respect, and they can get a bit... feisty. They might attempt a not-so-gentle nip to express their displeasure." As she spoke, Daphne's fingers continued their rhythmic petting of Arnold. "But mine," she continued with a warm smile, "he's rather used to it all. He's my father's faithful companion on his many expeditions. The two of them share a unique bond, forged through trust and respect ever since he found him abandoned in the forest. So, you won't find Arnold biting my father. In fact, they're more like two old friends on their adventures together." Her fingers delicately explored the pygmy puff's belly, "I'm sure he'd love you though-you are...honest..and true, Hippogriffs can sense that."
Daphne then beamed with gratitude, touched by Axyen's kind words. "Aww, Axyen, that's so sweet of you to say! I think there's gonna be a match in October but I'm not sure..." She pondered her words for a moment before her face lit up with realization. "Oh my goodness-October is also the Fall Ball!" As she spoke, memories of the previous year's Fall Ball flooded back to her. Daphne had attended the event with her then-friend and former crush David Howard. They had laughed, played games, and had an all-around great time. While their friendship had naturally drifted apart since then, she held those memories dear. Months ago, Daphne would have found it immensely challenging to voice such a question. But as time had passed, she'd been steadily gaining confidence in expressing herself, and she saw that Axyen could be a great friend. She hoped that he thought the same of her.
With newfound determination, she sat up, her smile carrying a hint of sheepishness as she embarked on her inquiry. "However," she began, her voice warm and inviting, "you absolutely don't have to say yes, and if you already have plans or someone else to go with, I completely understand, but..." She paused for a moment, her cheeks taking on a subtle rosy hue. "Would you consider being my date to the Fall Ball?" Her words tumbled out with a mix of excitement and a touch of nervousness. "We don't have to dance or anything if you're not into that since we're just friends and not a couple hehe....," she continued, her gaze locking onto his with anticipation. "But I genuinely believe it could be a lot of fun. Plus," she couldn't help but giggle, "imagine how adorable it would be if we dressed up our pets in tuxedos! It'd be the cutest thing ever!" Daphne gently lifted Arnold up in front of Axyen's face and make a pleading expression. "Plus I'm sure Arnold would love it there..right Arnold?" Even though he couldn't talk, she hoped the pygmy puff would naturally react positively to her tone.

Axyen listened to Daphne as she explained the behavior of Hippogriffs. Axyen knew you had to bow to show respect towards a Hippogriff, otherwise it wouldn't be a good idea to approach the Hippogriff in question as they would bite you. Axyen listened on as Daphne went on to mention that her Hippogriff was her father's companion. By the sound of it, it seemed like the Hippogriff was extremely loyal, which really reminded Axyen about the traits of Hufflepuff. Axyen nodded to indicate that he was still listening to what Daphne was saying, Daphne began to state that her father and his Hippogriff had a unique bond. Axyen remembered the feeling he had when he met Arnold for the first time, and ever since that day, Arnold and Axyen had gotten along really well. Daphne said that the Hippogriff would probably like Axyen for being truthful, she even said that Hippogriffs could sense traits like that. "Wait, they can?" Axyen asked, he didn't think Hippogriffs, or any other magical beast for that matter would be able to sense personality traits, or at least be able to pick up on them immediately. Arnold currently seemed content, and he was observing some students over at other house tables.
Axyen noted the date October 8th, he would need to keep it in mind and attend the match, which would definitely be a new experience considering how Axyen never watched any Quidditch match before. Axyen thought for a moment as Daphne remembered something called the 'fall ball', something Axyen never heard about. "The fall ball?" Axyen asked Daphne, perhaps it was time to actually keep up with these events. Axyen didn't know what the fall ball was, but he could make a guess that it might've been a party of some kind. Speaking of matches and Quidditch, Axyen remembered he might have a dueling match soon, his first one. This left Axyen limited time to practice his spell-casting, but that was fine, everything should go just fine if Axyen doesn't panic and faint. Axyen decided to brush off his worries, after all, as long as he had fun it would all be great. Axyen was currently more interested in this fall ball he had never heard about.
Daphne appeared slightly timid, Axyen noticed her lightly blush before asking Axyen to go with her to the fall ball, Axyen didn't have anything to do during the fall, which should leave him with tons of free time, and this was Axyen's first time being invited to any event. Axyen also had to remember that he was way too shy to dance, which Daphne said was fine if he wasn't into that. Axyen also couldn't resist the idea of Arnold being in a tuxedo, as Daphne picked Arnold up, Arnold gave Axyen puppy eyes(which were indiscernible from his normal eyes, but it still worked anyways. "Okay, I'll attend the fall ball with you!" Axyen said enthusiastically and with a smile, he imagined there had to be some book out there about the fall ball, or maybe some sort of information about similar events, Axyen decided it would be best to wait and see if Daphne wanted to provide more insight on what the fall ball was before making any final decisions about studying about it, after all, it was supposed to be fun, and Axyen personally thought learning to dance from a book was more fun opposed to trying to figure out what the fall ball is.Mentioning...@Daphne Sapphirus

Daphne's eyes sparkled with warmth as she engaged in conversation with Axyen. "Absolutely! Animals have this incredible ability to pick up on our emotions. Ever notice how many pets seem to act a bit sad when we are?" she pondered aloud, her voice carrying a gentle cadence. Her words continued to flow, each sentence woven with a genuine belief in the empathetic connection between humans and animals. "And, you know, when they witness someone mistreating you, they might get mad or even run away in fear. It's like they can sense the energy around us," As she spoke, Daphne's attention remained fixed on Axyen. "I'm pretty certain even Arnold wouldn't like me or greet me so happily if I were mean to you. Has he ever shown dislike towards anyone?" she inquired, her head tilting slightly in curiosity.
Daphne's joy was then noticeable when Axyen agreed to accompany her to the Fall Ball, a delighted exclamation escaping her lips. "Yessss!" With a beaming smile, she gently hugged Arnold, as if sharing the good news with him. "See? Arnold is totally happy that we're going!" she declared, the warmth of the moment resonating in her affectionate gesture. Settling Arnold onto her lap, Daphne decided to explain more about the Fall Ball to Axyen, recognizing that he might not have experienced it before. "Well, the theme changes every year, but the Fall Ball is essentially a grand gathering where all Hogwarts students come together to have a blast! There's a big dinner, exciting games, and, of course, a dance. I'm sure you'd absolutely love it," she shared, her eyes lighting up with enthusiasm.
As she spoke, a light giggle escaped her, and a subtle flush colored her cheeks once more. "It really isn't stressful, I promise. All you need to do is come to the Great Lake on that day dressed in your best attire, and I can guide you from there!" Daphne reassured Axyen, her tone a blend of excitement and reassurance.

Now that Daphne mentioned it, Arnold did seem to match Axyen's mood. Except if Arnold was causing mischief and was having fun while Axyen is stressed trying to prevent any further chaos. "Now that you say it... I do notice that..." Axyen said. Daphne also included the fact that Arnold and other beasts and animals would react to their friend(or owner) being mistreated. Daphne decided to ask if Arnold has shown any dislike to anybody while Daphne tilted her head to the side a bit. "Hm," Axyen said, audibly thinking for a few seconds. "Well, he has shown to be a bit more annoyed around my older brother." Axyen finally said, it took him a while to remember because he was more focused on keeping up with his studies. Only because his studies were the only thing Axyen wanted to focus on for the most part, he was always pretty shy and still didn't typically approach people(as much as he tried sometimes, he just felt too nervous to approach other students.), which only left Axyen with one thing to busy himself with; that being his school studies. Axyen didn't mind, learning magic was great and fun, and that made him forget how his older brother annoyed him, or what was happening at the house for most of his time at Hogwarts. Jacob(Axyen's older brother) has played 'pranks' which annoyed Axyen, which usually got a reaction from Arnold(Which Jacob has found slightly amusing, annoying Axyen even more at times). "Because he can be a little mean, playing 'pranks' and whatnot." Axyen included, explaining why Arnold would have any reason to dislike Jacob. These pranks were generally pretty mean, like levitating Axyen's stuff out of reach, knowing that Axyen legally can't use a spell to get it back down, this annoyed Axyen because it felt that Jacob tried to hover some power over Axyen. Jacob would even occasionally just throw a few rude insults at Axyen because Jacob happened to have a bad day or when Axyen makes a small mistake causing tiny inconvenience for Jacob.
When Axyen accepted Daphne's offer to go to the Fall Ball, Daphne seemed ecstatic about the idea. Arnold also seemed ecstatic about the idea as well as Daphne hugged the fluffy Pygmy Puff. Arnold was matching the excitement around him, which caused Axyen to laugh a little, Arnold and Daphne's happiness seemed contagious. Axyen also wondered if Arnold was just following the tone of this news, because as Daphne mentioned earlier, pets do seem to try and copy or react to the emotions around them or at least Arnold did. It did seem that the Pygmy puff was excited, he shook in Daphne's arms in clear excitement, his purple fur waving left and right.
Axyen listened up as Daphne began to explain what the Fall Ball was. Axyen made sure to listen carefully, with Daphne's insight and description, Axyen felt that he was correct in his prediction. It did sound like a party, and it actually sounded funner than Axyen imagined. He was expecting mainly just a dance, but his interest grew when he heard about games and such. Daphne giggled slightly which brought Axyen out of his thoughts(he was guessing what type of games and activities the Fall Ball would bring.) and nodded as Daphne said that the event wasn't stressful. Axyen made a mental note of the location, the Great Lake, Axyen had visited the Great Lake at the end of his first year to clean up the lake. Axyen also made note to come to the Lake in his best attire, Axyen would have to look in his wardrobe for a bit, but thankfully... Axyen had time. Axyen would also maybe need to send an owl to his mom if he didn't have anything. Axyen felt better rested that Daphne would be able to guide him, as Axyen didn't want to be stuck in one part of the event for an undetermined amount of time.
Arnold was looking around, Axyen looked down at Arnold. The Pygmy Puff rolled out of Daphne's lap and made an attempt to roll away quickly. Thankfully, Axyen reacted faster and caught the Pygmy Puff on the ground. "Thanks, that means a lot to me, it really does!" Axyen said happily giving a smile towards Daphne. Arnold looked at Axyen, it seemed Arnold was ready to cause more mischief. "I'll definitely show up there, and Arnold will also join in a suit on his best behavior." Axyen said, looking down at Arnold with a friendly smile, yet his voice stern to emphasize that Axyen was being serious with Arnold. "I would love to continue chatting, but I am pretty sure Arnold is going to get me in more trouble." Axyen said, he knew Arnold far too well by now. Axyen didn't know what it was, maybe it was the look Arnold gave him or perhaps it was the energy Arnold was giving off, but Axyen always seemed to predict Arnold's mischief after looking at Arnold's face. "So I'll need to go to the Common Room until Arnold decides he doesn't want to break anything or something like that." Axyen said, carefully watching Arnold to make sure that Arnold didn't try to do anything. Axyen then walked out quickly waving and saying "Bye-! Arnold no stop!" Arnold tried to lick a fellow Hufflepuff student, which caused the student jump back as the tongue thankfully missed the student. Axyen remembered that he didn't want to scold Arnold, as Daphne said earlier, maybe it was a way of trying to show affection. Axyen sighed, now out of hearing range from Daphne. Axyen decided he needed a way to enforce rules without trying to force Arnold into shape, that was never his intention to begin with. Axyen had a new idea, maybe he should just let Arnold have treats for good behavior to try and encourage the Pygmy Puff. Yeah, that seems like a great idea... Axyen thought to himself, now leaving the Great Hall, he felt a lot better after meeting a familiar face. Axyen remembered to rush to the Common Room before Arnold attempted to lick any student within range. Axyen also hoped that he didn't happen to come off as rude for leaving so suddenly, but Arnold would be able to get Axyen in trouble if Axyen didn't stop the Pygmy Puff. Axyen simply didn't want to take any chances with Arnold.
