Finnegan pumped his fist when Haley snagged the quaffle and scored. Not a moment too soon, he swerved to the side to dodge an incoming bludger that was picking out targets all by itself. Not much later, Asleigh once again proved her worth as a keeper by blocking Howard's third attempt. Finally, after missing the quaffle for four times in a row, he managed to get a hold of it and score himself, not that it was much of a challenge without a keeper defending the hoops. Still, he was happy to see that they managed to keep up with Hufflepuff. With just a bit of luck and skill, they could turn things around and eek out a victory.

Howard clung tight to his broom as he tore through the air, but the Gryffindor Chasers gave him little room. He'd have to have a chat with the youngsters after this match! No, not one of intimidation, but one of admiration! They were both giving him a run for his money and it was great to see two underclassmen playing so well. Howard loved a challenge and they provided!

Speaking of youngsters though, team Gryffindor hit the snooze button on Madi who caught Hannah with well placed Blatch. One less pesky Chaser to deal with, but Avery wouldn't be graced with the best luck as her Bludger just missed Alexander. Howard signaled to his teammates and refocused on his own task. This was going to be a grind to the finish and there was no way to tell which team would come out on top,

The heated game continued and the drops of sweat ran down Haley's temples. Hufflepuff really was a strong opponent, she realized that every time. But they were fighters, they were lions and would give their all. Howard managed to score two goals for the Badgers again and if she was not caught up in her fighting spirit at that moment, would surely admire his play as well. He was good, no question about it. Haley can still learn a lot from that, but now was not the time.

Howard wasn't the only one to make it though, as Haley also took her chance, snatching the Quaffle and flying as fast as she could towards the unprotected Hoops to score 10 points for Gryffindor. She grinned, flew a sharp turn and was not too long in celebrating her small success. The game was far from decided. Finnegan also managed to make the lions roar and scored another 10 points. "Great job Finnegan!" Haley shouted loudly and paused for a few seconds to applaud him.

Ash wasn't ashamed of herself when she was only able to stop each final attempts by the veteran Hufflepuff Chaser. Honestly, she thought she wouldn't be able to guard any hoops at all, since she was still a newbie who just had her very first Quidditch game! But so far, it really did seem like her little Irish luck was blessing her today, or maybe it was the result of her "hellish" training she had. Ash remembered how surprised and mixed with shock that she suddenly became first string Keeper without any preparations, kinda of a same thing when she applied for the Prefect role and got it when she was a first year student who just entered Hogwarts with zero experience.

At the moment, the little Irish Gryffindor Keeper was only focused on guarding their hoops the best she could that she didn't pay too much attention what really happened around her. However, Ash knew her teammates were the most courageous lions, and she knew they would all do well in the game in their own positions. They all just need to keep on going and not giving up!

As a highly competitive player, Atlas hated any amount of time that she would be taken out of play. While she knew getting caught from a penalty was more or less her fault, that didn't dampen the frustration and competitive desire to return. Even in the short span of a lap, Atlas knew a lot could happen on the field.

As she flew her route, she kept her eyes locked on the game, wanting to know exactly what was going on and where she would need to be when she reentered the fray. Under her breath, Atlas growled a couple of curses as Gryffindor managed to score twice on them. Two goals that she knew she would have been able to defend. Luckily Howard was still out there scoring a couple of goals of his own to balance out Gryffindor's effort.

Atlas gave a quick smirk as she watched Madison make an effective and successfully aggressive move on one of the other team's chasers. Now with losses on both sides, she hoped it wouldn't devolve into a slugfest of smacking each other off of brooms. Keeping her body low to the broom, Atlas kept up her speed to get her back in the game where she could actually do something to help their position and lead.

If an attempt to score has been blocked through this effect, the Keeper may as a free action hurl the quaffle at the opponent team in an attempt to injure a player of their choice (it would be recovered with a quaffle grab action) and treated like a bludger or pass the quaffle to a team mate. This must be declared by the Keeper if either of these free actions are to be utilized.

Evasive Maneuvers
Harder to hit on average, 10% on auto-dodge chance that anything that targets this wizard automatically misses. This is rolled separately from the attack roll.

All things considered, the teams feel pretty evenly matched. This realization does not, however, prevent the small burst of satisfaction that comes about when another lion is sent plummeting to the ground. Avery curses quietly to herself as her bludger swings wide of her intended target. Trying to focus in and ignore the chaos happening across the field, the beater tightens her grip on her bat. They could still pull this off.

Not bad an outcome as Roxette went through her save duty for this round as she watched out for the players to see if any needed rescuing or assistance. It was nice to know she wasn't needed as the match continued on and she didn't got knocked off her broom. She watched as Madison actually managed to take out a Gryffindor player. Impressive. It gave her a penalty lap yet worth it. Totally worth it though she was worried about the girl currently knocked out. She continued onward as she played to the best of her abilities.

There was always something particularly devastating about having to go into a game you were so sure you wouldn’t be called into. He immediately wanted to blame Finn for it, was it logical? No. Of course not. But did it make him want to pin the blame and scowl at the back of his teammates head any less? Not a chance. Because honestly he wasn’t fully convinced this wasn’t somehow the younger Gryffindor's fault.

Because where the heck had Elena gone. He’d been kinda paying attention to the game but obviously not well enough because he had no idea where the heck she’d gone. The logical thing to do was blame Finn. He'd probably jinxed their teams luck or something.

Quite frankly he’d maybe gotten a bit too confident in the rest of the teams, or rather Elena's, ability to stay in the game when their team had decently held their ground this game. Also too comfortable apparently because it felt like a punch to the gut having to suddenly get on his broom and up in the air.

“Guess I’ll suffer then.” He grumbled, voice drowned out by the wind as he hovered in the air. He’d focus on his job, follow the plan, but if he got knocked off his broom and fell there was at least a 15% chance he’d be staying down.

Eyes to his surroundings he did his best to tune out his more lazy urges as he tried to find that blasted blur of gold. “Where the heck is it…”

He had just joined the game, and he was already shot at. Lucky he avoided it rather quickly and easily, or the Hufflepuff beater just had bad aim. Whatever happened he was happy that it did not slam into him. And he went and focused on the game. It looked like the were able to score some, which was great! They had a chance at winning.

It didn't seem that either team would back off, with the three Chasers diving for the Quaffle time and time again. It was even more of a scuffle as Haley and Howard seemed to physically grapple over the ball. In an astounding feat of athletic prowess, the younger, smaller Gryffindor would overpower her elder to make a break for it towards the hoops and send the Quaffle soaring through the hoops right past Hufflepuff's Keeper. Truly, a shining moment for the young lioness. Howard seemed to be dominating the field, and even as Finnegan stole the ball out right from under his nose, his teammate Atlas would make an incredible save to keep Hufflepuff on top of the scoreboard.

Elsian seemed to waste no time scouring the field for the elusive Snitch, seeming to search twice as hard as his opponent, and it would pay off. While Daphne was still struggling to catch a glimpse, the Gryffindor Seeker would be off like a shot in chase of the golden prize.

In one last chance at retribution, he would send a bludger of his own zinging with pinpoint accuracy towards Daphne. It would make contact with a sickening crunch and bounce off towards Avery, although the latter would not be so unlucky.
