Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
As deals were made Alan's mood lifted even more, now this was an even better competition. Who was he to say no to a wager over free butterbeer? The grin on his face was short lived, as the team of Ravenclaw had quite the wicked plan and doused them in water of all things. "I already had a shower today, thanks," he commented jokingly as his eyes narrowed at Callie, who had been the source of the spell. With his robes now clinging to his skin uncomfortably, the crackling cloud above his head seemed far more unpleasant. However the fog that surrounded the eagles was equally efficient and with a bit of squinting Alan actually managed to see through it quite clearly. All the times he had spent enveloped in fog or blindfolded finally paying off to give him a headstart in such things!

“You looked like you needed another shower! Sorry Alan, just doing you a favour!” Callie called out to Alan despite being unable to see a damn thing. Whilst she could hardly see at the very least she’d managed to avoid a hit and mildly abuse the others in the process. Impromptu showers had to be amongst her favourite ways to victimise someone. “It’s uh…community service! Saving the masses from your stench!” Callie’s laughter likely betrayed the fact she was joking.

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
Galton would open the match with possibly the worst footwork possible. He’d been too focused on the unexpected sensation of being doused in water. It may have been done to make the storm conjured above their heads that much more brutal, but it was possibly the nicest magic he had ever been hit with from opponents. In contrast, the scary water would only miss because of the birds he’d thrown in Dealla’s face. But that was all to plan.
As he listened to the exchange between Alan and Callie he became suddenly insecure that he might smell. Galton certainly didn’t smell. Did the Ravenclaws think that he did? Maybe it was just Alan that smelled? But Galton didn’t think Alan smelled either. A cruel joke then? Mind games? “Wait… Alan… I don’t smell do I? he would whisper over to his teammate.

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
It seemed the Eagles had a strategy not entirely too dissimilar than their own. She would have expected nothing less from the more stereotypically tactical House. If she thought she'd be able to predict precisely how they might approach the combat, however, Evelynn would be sorely disappointed. For as many matches that she had attended as a spectator and painstakingly taken notes for later study of her peers, all that filed information seemed to trickle away as easily as the jet of water she'd avoided.
Where knowledge failed, perhaps the instinct honed on the quidditch pitch would prevail. With little more than an effortless rotation of a backstep, the lion brushed off a spray of droplets from her cheek and returned fire. Soon enough, a thick nebulous cloud had been sent across to smother the two she knew to be dangerous—to mitigate some of their effectiveness.
"You're fine," she answered flatly to Galton, eyes flicking up towards the cloud above as it crackled with a promise of pain. "That, however, is not."Action: As strategized

It seemed the next round of spells would be mostly put towards undoing some of the damage done last round, and other defensive moves. The most prominent examples came from Galton, who cast a Ventus at the threatening cloud hovering over his team, pushing it over to the other side of the platform, Dealla--who simply conjured a shield in front of her, and Callie, whose weather-modifying countercharm neatly dispersed the fog hampering the Ravenclaw's aim. Pericles also went with a more defensive move, attempting to bolster his allies with a Bravery Charm, but the charm sputtered out before it could be properly cast, no doubt a consequence of the difficulty of trying to cast the spell on two people at the same time.
Alan and Evelynn had been the only ones to attempt a more aggressive move, but only Alan had hit, the strenght of his jet pushing Pericles back and soaking the Ravenclaw. Evenlynn's aim, on the other hand, had been off. And not just by a little either. The spell had shot wildly, veering closer to Alan than any member of the opposing team./quote]

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 2
Things took a grim turn. Pericles was blasted with water, leaving him spluttering and coughing. He tried to split a boost between his teammates, but the spell fizzled out at the end of his wand, much to his shock and dismay. Though the fog cleared, that lovely storm he had conjured was now looming over their side of the stage. The Ravenclaw scowled, wiping water from his face with a sleeve while trying to maintain focus.Action: As strategized.

Well, this certainly sucked. This match pairing was quickly proving to be a living nightmare. By now Callie was convinced that she must have done something bizarre in a past life to warrant such things. Perhaps she had been a particularly aggressive fisherman? The possibilities were endless! Although Callie didn’t exactly have time to dwell on her potential past misgivings. No, it was hard to focus on those things when you were at risk of being abused by a storm and three mostly older opponents.

It was reassuring to hear Eve say he wasn’t smelly. It was a tad less reassuring to see her spell fly off wildly towards Alan. Maybe it was a sign that he was smelly, and even had just been trying to get the last bit of stink from the older Gryffindor.
No matter the smell of him, Alan had scored the first hit of the match. And with a jet of water too. It seemed that everyone would potentially have a shower by the end of this match.

Alan was pretty happy to see he had actually managed to hit someone with his spell. It definitely meant that this was going in their favor at this moment. He turned and gave a small nod at Galton and Eve, before remembering the jab from Callie and giving her a wink. "Well I think you were just secretly bothered by Peri's smell, I took care of that for you!" Then he turned to Galton and shook his head. "Of course we don't smell, they simply must be jealous or something." Alan found this duel pretty amusing so far.

Hmm, perhaps Dee had jumped the gun a little. Or the wand. Whatever. Unable to see through the fog, she'd thrown up a shield to protect herself... Only to realise that she hadn't been targeted at all. Instead it was Pericles next to her who was getting blasted by water even while Callie made the fog that blanketed them dissipate. Clicking her tongue, Dee gave her partners a quick onceover. Callie was unharmed and entertaining as ever, while Peri... was battered and soaked, which didn't bode well with the cloud now looming overhead. Time to change gears, perhaps.
