A bit of help?

@Gyda Delaney◤━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◥It was almost Halloween and Ophelia was excited. Hogwarts was already getting decorated, and she couldn't wait for the festivities that came with the occasion. But to enjoy them, she had to finish off her homework.
Back in Muggle school, she'd always been top of her class, turning in her homework on time and acing it every time. She'd never been afraid of tests or assignments before. Of course, that all had to change as she entered one of the most challenging phases of her life. Magic, though she knew that it was flowing in her veins, wasn't Ophelia's thing. No matter how many notes she took, or how much she practiced, nothing ever seemed to come out as perfectly as she wanted it to come out.
It wasn't noisy in the Ravenclaw common room, not really, but Ophelia still preferred the library for her homework-doing. The calm of the Muggle libraries didn't find her there, but being surrounded by books was still much better than being surrounded by students, even if they were in her same house.
Ophelia looked up in frustration. The idea of slamming her hands on the table crossed her mind, but she didn't go through with it. Impulsive actions like that weren't really her thing, though it seemed extremely appealing to her at the moment. She looked around the library.
Hogwarts was a massive school and had lots of students, so the library was crowded, as always. The tables were filled with students talking and laughing with their friends or trying to focus on their studies. Chairs littered the previously empty space. The only table with a few chairs left over was hers. While there were a few students sitting at her table, they were on the far end, unable to interact with Ophelia.
She sighed as she stared at her homework once more, frustrated and agonized. Maybe I'll need some help, Ophelia thought dejectedly. Just this once.◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢

░⌟~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Gyda had been waiting to go to the library all day. Yet, she was busy. The preparations for Halloween took some of her precious time, but she was willing to give it. There wasn't a load of stuff that got Gyda all kinds of happy, but one thing surely did: Halloween. She relished in the spooky stuff, and could not wait to dress up as the muggle 'goddess' Morticia Addams for a party she would probably hate, for the simple reason of other people being present. She wanted to write a letter to her mother and grandmother, and had been meaning to finish up an essay for Defense Against the Dark Arts. Aside from that, she was desperate for new reading materials, as all her action packed adventure novels had been finished. So, the library was the place to go.
As excited she had been on her way to the library, as annoyed she was once she entered it. The busy crowd was like an ice bucket over her good mood. She figured that everyone wanted to cram in some homework before all the Halloween stuff started, which was fair. But why come to the library to do it....? Gyda sighed as she wandered into the library in search of an empty or remote table.
There was barely any room left... Gyda may have circled the library at least three times, before she came to the conclusion that she was almost out of options. She spotted one empty seat. The table was ligned with multiple students, but she found an empty seat at the far end. Only one other girl, a Ravenclaw girl as it appeared, was sitting there, so Gyda decided to sit across from her. She wasn't happy about it, but it was something. She hoped that most students would clear out soon enough. So, after a bit of internal resistance, she made her way over to the table. She put some parchment on the table, and her Defense Against the Dark Arts book, a quill and some ink, and then crammed her way onto the chair, trying not to bump into anybody behind her in the crammed space of the massive library. She sat down with a sigh, and set out to work on her essay first.

@Gyda Delaney◤━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◥Ophelia looked up from staring at her homework. She'd been in the library for twenty minutes already, and had only gotten two sentences of her homework essay done. History of Magic, she could handle, as it was close to Muggle lessons, but everything involving real, actual magic? She was terrible at all of it.
Just as her eyes strayed to look around at the students around her and get distracted yet again, Ophelia's gaze snagged on something. A girl had made her way to her table and slowly sat down, looking uncertain all the while. Ophelia recognized the girl quickly. They'd never actually met or spoken, but she'd seen her circle the library a few times, trying to find a seat.
As Ophelia watched, interest piqued by anything that wasn't her dreaded Defense Against the Dark Arts homework, the girl got out her ink well, a quill, and some parchment, ready to begin writing an essay of her own.
Forgetting herself, Ophelia felt the need to pounce onto her and ask for help. Then, the introvert instincts kicked in, and she shied away from the newcomer, not wanting to interact with someone she hadn't talked to before. From her experience here, all the students were extremely nice, but that didn't mean her fear of talking to people had disappeared. While, yes, she would speak to someone if she absolutely had to, she still wouldn't otherwise.
But what if I fail this homework assignment? What if I spoke to this one person and I suddenly understand everything? What if my speaking to this one person makes a big difference? It was thoughts like these that kept Ophelia hesitating from slinking back into her shell of self-protection.
Ophelia took a deep breath. While those thoughts weren't very rational, they still somewhat made sense. This girl, whoever she was, might be able to help her, especially if she was older.
Okay. All you have to do is say hi. The rest will come naturally. She could do it. She'd talked to plenty of people before, though that didn't mean the clammy-palm feeling was new.
Clearing her throat to be heard in the midst of the overcrowded library, Ophelia started speaking. "Um, excuse me?" She winced at the awkwardness of her words. Well, she couldn't stop now. "I'm a first year, and I'm a little confused on my Defense Against the Dark Arts homework. I would appreciate any help you could offer."◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢
