Howard stood with broom slung over his shoulder as his crimson eyes looked over the pitch before him. The sun had just burned away the last of the morning fog and it would appear that they would be graced with clear skies for the season opener. The usual mix of excitement and nerves swirled through his belly as the start of the match soon approached. Last season had been one that he would remember for a long time to come. An undefeated season and a draw against Durmstrang! What more could a Quidditch Captain hope for. Of course there was pressure to repeat that performance, but Howard knew all to well that nothing was guaranteed when it came to this wacky sport he loved so. However, one thing he knew for certain was that it was going to be a blast!

"Alright Team Hufflepuff!" Howard shouted out to his fellow team mates. "Let's do this! Remember your training, watch each others backs and lets have some fun!" He bellowed before swinging his broom underneath himself and kicking off into the air with a dramatic barrel roll!

Madison was speechless. Even though the skies were clear and blue, today was the first time she'd been at the pitch during a game and she was very nervous. She'd had a good breakfast so she wasn't hungry, however her nerves were starting to get the better of her. She gripped her broom, took a deep breath and smiled, even though she wasn't going up into the air straight away, she knew she would do at some point. As she watched the first string players mount their brooms, she smiled, let the game begin Madison thought to herself

New year, new quidditch season, so a fresh chance to win.

Those were the thoughts racing through Pax's head as they emerged onto the quidditch pitch with their team, broom and bat clutched tightly in hand. Last year, however terrible, was in the past now, and this year was a fresh year to prove themselves.

"Right team," they addressed everyone with a small nod of their head. "Those who saw last year know it was rough. Wasn't great. But this year will be great. We've got this, we can do this, we've trained and worked hard. We will show the might of Gryffindor today."

If Ethan had anything to say, they paused to let him speak, before pumping their fist in the air. "Go Gryffindor!"

Securing their grip on their bat, they mounted their broom and headed up into the air.

Autumn was here and on this day it was really beautiful. While the mist crept up between the trees in the morning, the sun came out of the clouds more and more as time went by and there was a true play of autumn colors outside the windows of the castle. The cool air played around Haley's long red hair as the beautiful autumn day slipped into the background and the focus was only on the Quidditch Pitch.

Haley entered the pitch with the Gryffindor Lions team and even though it didn't show on her face, the pressure was high. The last few games had been tough, but it was a new year and the cards were reshuffled. It was time for a comeback and Haley would give it her all.

Quidditch, 28th of October 2023

Playing against Hufflepuff was never easy, not with star player like Howard White, @Atlas Reid and @Ethen Emrys on the opposing team. Each of them had years of experience and a track record to show for it. At least next year Howard wouldn't pose a threat anymore, but it also meant that Hogwarts would lose its most experienced chaser. Who then remained to learn from? Cecily, the Ravenclaw captain and veteran Chaser was in her seventh year too. With them both gone, there wouldn't be anyone else to look up to at Hogwarts.

With his brand spanking new Silver Arrow slung over his shoulder, he passed by @Elsian Cox. "Try not to fall asleep, hmm?" he said. While the war between himself and the fifth-year had yet to be decided, he had made some effort not aggravate the sleepy boy in the days leading up to the game. No more hiding (or wearing) his knitted sweaters, no more pillows flung his way, no more trying to replace the boy's socks with one's from the prank shop that always remained wet. As much as he hoped Elena would stay on her broom, there was always a chance Elsian would have to jump in, and if that happened, he wanted his dorm mate to have his head in the game.

When Pax and Ethan had had their say, he kicked off the ground and quickly dashed over to @Howard White before getting into position. "I wanted to say sorry for ruining one of your last games in advance," he said with a playful smirk. Then he offered his gloved hand in respect to one of the school's best players. "I'll miss playing against you, I will, good luck! And thanks for the advice!" Regardless of whether Howard took the handshake or not, he soon veered back to his side of the pitch to get into position. Now they would see if what Howard had told him at the Fall Ball would make a difference...

Squinting, he spotted @Alma Stoll amid the Hufflepuff chasers and he sent a friendly wave in her direction. He was glad to see her playing because outside of their shared classes, they just hadn't been in touch as much as last year. Knowing Alma, she was probably busy with some charity project or playing tour guide for hopelessly lost first-year students.

Finally, the game started. Finnegan gritted his teeth and purged any nice thoughts about Hufflepuffs out of his mind. Thanks to one pint-sized half-goblin demon child who by some miracle had been sorted into Hufflepuff, it wasn't quite so hard to do. Imagining every single flying Hufflepuff to be Clark Baird or a relation of Clark would certainly stop him from feeling sorry when it would inevitably start raining badgers again. Just like last year.

He just hoped he could avoid being part of that rain.

It's finally happening! My very first Quidditch match.

For a first timer, it's understandable that Ash would be super nervous, but of course, that still wouldn't stop her other strong emotion coming in the mix, which was her excitement.

When the second year, Gryffindor entered the Quidditch field behind her team, she was in awe of the sight in front of her. Ash guessed that must be how those national football players felt when they entered the field in the Muggle world. It didn't seem that much of a difference, except they're going to ride on their flying enchanted brooms. And despite the loud thunderous cheers that could be heard all around her, she was able to still hear their captain's clear voice, giving them an inspirational speech in hopes for the lions to become more courageous and gain motivation. Ash pumped her fist along with her teammates and shouted with them together, "Go Gryffindor!!"

After that, Ash watched how her other teammates already getting on to their brooms, so she quickly mounted onto her Silver Arrow and got into position. Ash knew there most be a lot of players from the Hufflepuff team who were quite experienced. So she really had to be careful and believed in herself, and perhaps wishing a little bit of Irish luck.

A new school year meant a new Quidditch season, Hannah was quite especially excited since it had been almost a year since she had entered the Quidditch team, so a year of Quidditch. She didn't get an early start at flying or anything, but she had talent.

In the late mornings of Summer, she spent time flying around, training Quidditch moves and everything. She was most definitely ready for it, more than ready and very confident about everything.

"Good luck team, and most importantly.. Go Gryffindor! Let's win this season!" she said, and then looked and Finnegan and her cheeks turned a little red and she gave him a slight smile.

Hannah was ready, no matter what, and now she needed to do anything to help her team, especially because last season was horrible, she had a feeling this would be different, this season would be good more than good, amazing, great, record breaking.

This would be his first game, ever. He had spent the last week looking over all the rules, and working on flying on his broom. He thought he could fly pretty well, he knew the chances of him flying would be slim. As one of his teammates in the better position would be out of the game, and he thought they were really good. No matter, Alex went and took a seat on the bench. Were he would cheer on to the best of his abilities.

It was another year. Her second to last. There was a bunch of chatter in the changing rooms like usual. She opened up her locker, put her gear on over her undergarments. It was a chilly day in Fall, still somewhat sunny but the wind was bitter as were her emotions. Reality was crashing down upon her as OWLs were the previous year, and she had bombed quite a few. Her career path wasn't looking so clear and NEWT preparation was creeping up quicker than she would've liked. Quiditch was her chance at freedom, even if it was only now and then like a past-time.

She'd run her hand along her locker before lining up in position to head out onto the field. Howard White, her captain's voice boomed in her ears, startling her from her thoughts. It was his last first game. His last year on the team. Oh god now Quidditch was crashing down around her. What would they do without their beloved captain? Her knuckles tightened around the broom handle as they walked towards the benches. Finally getting the courage she'd speak out loud in a random direction.

"Howard--"

He was gone. His footsteps echoed softly on the turf as he had gone to his position, probably swiftly kicking off the ground into the air.

A shaky sigh escaped her as she sat down on the bench.

"Stop being such a killjoy.."

She'd mutter to herself, exhaling another small breath from her body. It was time to focus on the game. Only focus on the present. That's all. It was quite simple really. Somewhat.
