Camp, 2023 Summer Duels, Game 7: Slytherin vs Guests

The duel have seemed to be coming to a pathetic end. And sadly it is for the snakes this time. Pea could not fathom the anger and frustration she felt right now. Since the game seems to turn the table so quickly at the end due to their poor luck. Yes luck and also the fact that her very disappointing teammate to have seemed to gotten a stroke or petrified on the spot. But whatever, she have gotten this far. Trying to get all of her spirit high again after seeing Leveret being knocked to the ground after taking his blindfold off. Pea scrunched her eyebrow. If she wasn’t in a game of duel, she wonder if the creature side of her father’s blood will come out at any moment. A Veela screech surely wouldn’t be a pretty sight.

Klaus grin grew and his eyes shone with a smug glint. Finally, things were getting into their rightful place. Durmstrang was showing its unquestionable superiority and the snakes, at least one of them, had found the place he belonged to, in the ground at their feet.

A smirk kept to Klaus’ face while he accessed, with piercing grey-blue eyes, what would be his next move to end this game. A glance at Maila, and silence words were shared, this had to be their victory.

	----- H e considered the current events of the duel to be something not dissimilar to a game of dominoes… Their newest and most inexperienced team mate had suffered an incredible amount of stage fright, Ms.Fowl had misfired, Avery has miscast- then blindfolded, and then he was the perfect target for their opponents. Bap-bap, came the spells. The first sent him sliding on the soles of his pristine shoes, slightly unbalancing him as he wrestled the blindfold; only to be struck by the second which took advantage of his blindness and poor footing and floored him. An audible groan left his side of the duelling stage.

It was like fate threw a saving grace to the Slytherin. Peas' spell would directly hit poor Maila dead in the chest. The girl would be pushed back across the piste as the spell landed, and the moderator raised their brows at Peas' spell. Seems it was going to down to the wire. Duvessa would still be off in space, but Avery was spurred into action. He had to be. Both opponents from the other team continued their onslaught against him. Rolling this way and that way, he would nimbly dodge Niklaus' spell as he tried to get up, but as he regained upright composure, be hit with Mailas' oen flipendo. Perhaps a retaliation? Fate wasn't done though. Lightening would rain down upon the guests of Hogwarts, missing one but striking the other. There was no fury like the duelling gods.

	----- I nelegant and uncouth, but not quite disgraced. He had to think fast, what with the severity of the situation. Avery couldn’t well get up, dodge and sling a spell back at them all at the same time; he was good but he wasn’t so deluded to think that he was -that- good, given the circumstances. For a brief moment the pain of the blasts had to be swallowed, and he had to act. Pea had seen it too, and they worked in tandem once again. As expected, the international students took aim at him on the floor, and his body lurched to the side in a roll to avoid the first blast, and he used his hands to spring himself up; only to get struck once again by Maila. A dark expression flashed across his face, she had his mark this entire game it felt; she as good; but good enough? Pea’s lightning combined with a spell that was so fast for Avery to recognised had struck her, moments before the duel was called. A draw? Well that was a relief. The trio hadn’t won but at least they hadn’t also been hit with the reputation of losers, and they had something- or someone, they could use as an excuse. “Hah! Now isn’t that something. - I’d say it as a fair game but…” He gave to all as a kind of formal acknowledgement in his typical teasing style; though as he turned his gaze to Duvessa, the dark expression returned. “Duvessa. If this is anything to go by, I’m not sure you’re going to make it far on the team.” He said sharply. Avery finally softened, moved a couple of strands from his face and stowed his wand into a deep pocket before he nodded his head at Pea respectfully. “Excellent as always, Ms.Fowl. I daresay if it wasn’t for that last moment we were done for. - Perhaps next time!” He gave politely, before shooting that last bit towards his opponents; no hard feelings held for a draw; in fact he was rather chipper with the fact that they hadn’t lost; as seen by the subtle signs in his step as he left the duelling ground.

Maila was not sure how she had hit Avery with her own Flipendo between being hit by the older Slytherins spell quite hard and lightning raining down on her but as she stood up again on her slightly shaky legs, the end of the duel was called. A draw. It seemed that Niklaus, out of all of them, was still doing best. She gave the other team an acknowledging smile and a friendly nod before walking over to Niklaus. „We did alright, would have been better if we won though. Good game, still.” she gave him a grin before starting to walk of to wherever Reuben was. They should at least check on their poor team mate after this.
