Duelling Questions
Firstly, you’ll need to do a wisdom check. Roll a twenty sides die and add on the caster’s wisdom. Failure means that the number you have produced is lower than the WDC. If you roll a 20, that is crit success. If you roll a 1, that is crit failure.
So there’s an accuracy and evasion check too. Accuracy check means that you roll a twenty sided die and add on the caster’s accuracy. Evasion check does the same, but with the target’s accuracy. If ACC check > ECA check, then the spell hits. If not, it misses.
Dodge is an action the player can choose. If a target doges, then 5+25% of their evasion is added to the EVA check. Hope this helps!

Duelling Questions
Auto-hit/fail/dodges are certain things that can occur, usually going along with an ability or race. For instance, advanced casting ability gives the person a 10% auto-success chance for casting a spell, which would be meeting the minimum Wisdom DC; to roll for an auto, you do a 1d10 (a 10 sided die) and if the result is a 10, then the hit/fail/dodge automatically happens. These abilities can sometimes stack as well (ex. evasive maneuvers, which can give up to a 20% auto-dodge chance). This would be automatically dodging a spell, so before the ACC vs. EVA roll is done, a 1d10 is rolled to see if an auto-dodge happens. Hopefully this helps!Cassie Jiang wrote: 28 Jul 2023, 03:02 hi yall! I don't really understand how the auto hit/fail/dodge works, can anyone pls explain itthx!
edit: I also want to ask about critical failure/success![]()
Critical successes and failures occur when you are rolling the 1d20 (20 sided die) and get either a 1 (failure) or 20 (success) (these numbers, generally the crit fail range, can change depending on circumstance but generally it's a 1). There are extra consequences/success mechanisms built in when you critically succeed/fail which are listed in the extra info under each duelling spell.

In your common room, usually at the top of the page, there should be a duelling sign up page.Starlette Lavander wrote: 14 Oct 2023, 11:29 Excuse me but can I ask where to sign up for the duelling club as a first year Slytherin?
A few requirements are that you need to be indexed and have two duelling spells in your trunk.
Duelling Questions
You should be able to find that in the Common Room, sadly i do not have access to that area but please check it out!Starlette Lavander wrote: 14 Oct 2023, 11:29 Excuse me but can I ask where to sign up for the duelling club as a first year Slytherin?

As mentioned by some of the other members - the sign up is in the common room. The positions on the active roster are first-come, first serve. Players beyond the total would enter a waitlist, so as duellists are removed from the roster (because they left for another sport, became inactive, missed multiple duelling posts, etc) the first user on the waitlist is added to the active team. To sign up, you need to be registered in Index and you need to learn a few spells (since you need something to cast in your duel). Spell learning requires you to have posted a minimum of 20 posts on site and presence on site for at least 10 days because you need to have classes open - classes are where you learn spells. You will need to complete classes to learn spells.
So in other words, you need to sign up but before you can sign up, you will need to meet certain prerequisites.
