Summer Duels, Game 2: Slytherin vs Guests
Much to the probable disappointment of any possible spectators, the moderator and its members, the duel seemed inordinately drawn out for a match that equalled further international glory for any specific school of magic. Astrea, biding her time considering the generally expected manpower of both sides of the piste, would not be alone in the flitting lack of true activity. How strangely tense it was for a piste to fall near-unexceptionally clear of even more than three incantations… Sharp-eyed and diligent, the serious attitude that had followed Astrea throughout the duration of the duel did not falter even in the face of an unexpected stalemate.

The next round of spellcasting began—well, it should have begun. Ruby healed herself, needing an extra boost to help keep her able to perform well, but as she waited for the rest of the spells to fly, they just... didn’t. Well, Dmitri cast, but missed. None of the opponents cast—they just stood there, staring. Why? Were they that slow or intimidated? This wasn’t a proper contest if the foreigners weren’t even going to cast at the Slytherins. She glanced over at Astrea, who also hadn’t cast. “You alright?” she asked quietly with a touch of concern, her voice too low to potentially embarrass the other girl with the question. They all needed to be ready to act.Doing as strategized

It seemed the lack of action had to be stopped. And she saw the signal from guests, which meant the forfeiture.
Just before the Slytherin team raised their wands, Meenauh halted the duel: "Stop!", and once everyone did, she walked up to the stage, Repariforsed still paralysed Maksim, cleared the cloud, and continued: "As of this, our Guests team signalled forfeiture, I have to proclaim the victory for Hogwarts' Slytherin team! Well done!"
But before she could finish the last two words, the audience exploded from the mere fact of unexpectedness. She turned to Ruby, smiled and winked, and then proceeded to congratulate each of the Guests' team members.
Enough for her summer duties, and it was time to continue enjoying the summer.
Like... look at cool bugs, or something.
SLYTHERIN WINS!

Summer Duels, Game 2: Slytherin vs Guests
The guest team had forfeited. “Cowards,” she hissed, scowling slightly. For a moment there, she had thought that maybe this would be a good duel—a satisfying one, in which she would be facing at least slightly skilled opponents who were worth her time, considering they had managed to injure her more than any previous opponents had. But no, in the end, they were all talk, succumbing to intimidation or fear or whatever weakness motivated them to make the decision to surrender.
When would she get a proper end to a duel? Her first match upon returning to duelling had been just as much of a letdown, without even the minor satisfaction of a win as it had been ruled a draw. She had been hoping for something better over the summer, especially considering that these were students attending schools from around the world, schools that sent some of their finest here to compete. But this, too, had just turned out to be a disappointment. How would she be able to fully flourish and improve if there was no challenge?
Feeling like she had been cheated out of something, she glanced around, eventually finding Meenauh’s eyes. At least she seemed happy for Ruby, offering her a smile and a wink. The Slytherin managed a small smile back and an appreciative nod, some of her frustration melting away, but it still simmered below the surface as she turned to leave. “Good work. Shame they couldn’t handle it,” she said to her teammates with a slight sneer, giving them a brief nod of acknowledgement before departing. Ridiculous.Exiting, duel complete

Hearing the opposing team's surrender, Dmitri barely held back a sigh of relief. If was far from normal for him to be relieved a duel has ended before, but he had to at least admit this wasn't his best performance.
Subtly looking for a chance to exit without it being obvious, the boy straightened his back, did a scoff, and silently left the arena.
He'll have to revisit his dueling skills at a later date.
But for now, this victory is still very much welcome.
