Miss Fortune Pet

After walking through a crowded road, Ying finally arrived to the Magical Menagerie store. She soon would ride to Hogwarts again for the beginning of her second year and she wanted to make sure that Miss Fortune, that would make her company to the magical school, would have everything she needed to feel comfortable and cherished.

As soon as Ying entered the store followed by her caretaker, Mrs. Bagnall, she felt happy and was quite sure Miss Fortune felt the same. The little kitten was on her lap tangled up in her arms, she has been quite and half asleep while the young girl walked to the store, although as soon as the bell at the entrance to the store rang, she lifted her little head with her pointy ears in alert, catching every sound coming from inside. Several other pets could be found there...other kittens like Fortune, some older felines, rats, ferrets...but were the owls that called Ying's attention, specially a small where in a small plaque could be read: Eastern Screech Owl. It was so much tiny then the others but her judgmental yellow eyes felt really funny to the young girl, "I think she could be a friend, don't you think?" Ying asked ironically in a whisper to Miss Fortune, giving small chuckles with amusement and walking towards the counter.

The shop wasn't full with costumers but there were enough of them so the shop keepers were both busy at that moment helping them. So Ying had a little more time to look around and paying attention to more details. Besides some toys and food, Miss Fortune would also need a nice bed, even if in the majority of nights the little kitten would prefer to fall asleep laying down next to Ying and the girl wouldn't mind a single bit. But was one of the promises and one of the demands her parents had given to her, that she couldn't sleep with Miss Fortune so close to her. In part she could understand their reasons, she had been ill for so long and they weren't fans of magic looking at it with a lot of misjudgment and distrust.

"Hello dear!" A greeting voice came to her and so Ying diverted her attention from the cien blue bed that she had been consider to buy and looked at its owner. A short and very friendly lady was looking at her with a smile and with an expression inviting her to speak. "Oh!" Ying said being caught by surprise, "Good morning!" She greeted smiling back at the white-haired lady and bowing slightly with politeness, "I came here to buy somethings for Miss Fortune" Ying explained mentioning the little kitten in her lap that now was trying to escape and wanting to go to explore the new room. The Gryffindor girl couldn't blame her, she assumed that for Fortune this may look like the most amazing playground with so many toys and possible new friends, "I want some food, maybe a toy or two and a bed!" She said to the friendly old shop keeper, at the last request Ying briefly exchanged looks with Mrs Bagnall and she reciprocated it with a lift of her eyebrow and a hidden smile. Obviously her lovely and caring caretaker new too well that that bed would be rarely used.

After every shop done, Ying thanked the old lady, who she now knew was called Mrs. Witticker, packed her things and went out the shop feeling that she couldn't wait to return to Hogwarts and share all those moments with her new friend.
