With his subpar accuracy, he hit his target, but also got hit. Clearly, the universe felt it was time for him to have a taste of adversity after all those delightful previous losses. His confidence took a nosedive straight down without even caring, plunging into the depth of his self consciousness. It was still bold of him to even show his face in Hogwarts like a knight in shining armour, but he made himself look more like a clown instead.

It felt good to be back on stage, dueling again. The opponents seemed to have focused their attention on Eun-ji, something Samantha wasn't too pleased with. The brunette had a soft spot for the older girl and preferred that her old friend not get knocked out first round. One of the younger foreign students had also aimed his wand at her. Facing 3 opponents made it harder to focus on dodging incoming attacks, and the young girl was too late to evade the spell.

Cassius went for a different tactic, covering the stage in fog. In her mind, Samantha thanked her teammate for the cover. Over the years, she had learned how to rely less on her vision and the fog didn't bother her too much, but she was well aware that that wasn't the case for the rest of the duelist on the stage. Eun-ji went for the good old flipendo, while Sam cast her favorite spell at the boy who had also targeted her.

When the dueling captain noticed that Eun-ji was blindfolded, she glared at the opposing team, trying to figure out who had done that to her. "They blinded you because they are aware that you are an amazing duelist. They are just scared little babies!" the young girl said, loud enough for the foreign students to hear.

Summer Break, 2023

As soon as the spell cast from his wand, splitting streams of gray quickly forming into clouds of dense fog, Cassius felt a surge of relief. It was his first time using the ability that he had trained so hard for in an official match--or, at least a match that was not simply sparring against teammates or training. This was real and he had done it.

Of course, it helped with his concentration that he did not have to dodge incoming spells. Keeping his wand ready, he felt for his teammate who took the brunt of the attacks. He did not know Eun-Ji well despite sharing a house and enrolling the same year. In fact, the same could be said for Samantha. He regretted that, not being closer to his teammates. A failing he would endeavor to rectify after the duel.

For now, his concentration had to remain on the duel. Regrets could be righted later. Raising his wand, he prepared for what would could next. Whatever that was, he would be ready.

Having successfully blindfolded Eun-Ji, it was quite unsurprising that the foreign team chose to keep her the target of the onslaught. With the exception of Milosh, who chose to lend his support to his teammate by casting a Reparifors on Akira, the team members turned their wands on her, Rodion with a Knockback Jinx and Akira with Incendio Duo. The Ravenclaw must've sensed what was coming--or reacted fast--because both spells were met by a Shield Charm, which Eun-Ji used to skillfully redirect them back towards the guest team; towards Milosh. No doubt taken by suprise, Milosh still managed to dodge the (literal) friendly fire, but took Rodion's redirected Flipendo on the thigh.

Given Eun-Ji's hands were otherwise occupied, it seemed Casseus decided to lend his and defly removed the blindfold impairing his teammate's sight. Meanwhile, Samantha continued the Ravenclaw's apparent plan of attack by setting Akira's robes on fire. It was a good thing Milosh had just patched him up some. Hopefully, that would make it easier to bear.

A second round had gone by. Not so swimmingly either. Spells were casted, much like the first round. Milosh casted Reparifors at Akira whom had taking quite a hit the previous round. To his thanks, the small fizzle appeared from his wand-tip, a soft mist falling over his teammate, hopefully it was somewhat helpful. On the other hand, their directed spells had backfired, oddly enough.

Squinting, he saw the slight shimmer of the dreaded spell, Protego, and before being able to catch his breath, Rodion's Flipendo hit him full force, knocking the Durmstrang boy backwards, out of the way of Akira's Incendio Duo, thankfully.

"Thanks boys." He'd half-heartedly joke out in broken English after regaining his breath, trying to keep spirits high. From the looks of things, he saw a nasty spell hit Akira, lighting the poor student's clothes up in flames from the impact. Wincing, Milosh thanked the sky again for that not being him. Granted, they werent sitting as tightly as before. A bigger gap was beginning to emerge, and not in their favor. His hand snaked its way through his blonde curls, slightly frustrated now.

This was surprisingly good round for the Ravens. At first, Eun-ji was worried. Being blindfolded and possibly a sole target of the opposing team sounded terrifying. Although she still looked perfectly calm on the outside, the witch knew she had become a burden to her team this round. Now, she had no choice but to rely on her teammates for help. Well…to a certain degree. She could protect herself just fine but to be in any way useful in the next round, she’d still need a hand from Sam or Cass…quite literally.

“Protego.” Eun-ji made split second decision to go on defensive. It was not often that she did but it would be bad if the guests targeted her again while she was pulling down the blindfold. Thankfully Cassius understood her intentions and quickly pulled down the blindfold for her. “Thank you.” The witch said gratefully as she watched the spells heading her way backfire. Truly, she didn’t think she’d ever be grateful to be attacked in a duel but right now that was precisely what she was feeling. It would be nice if they stopped now though… An unlikely scenario of course but one could dream.

Duels were always different. New opponents. New spells. New tactics. And now, not just 2 v 2 but 3 v 3. Sam loved it, it gave duelling an interesting spin. Her focus was purely on Akira, who she hit with an incendio duo. The young girl grinned as she watched the other duelist struggle with the fire. Her aim had been true and she was doing great in this duel. Her team mate, Eun-ji, had become target to the most spells. However, the older girl had been able to protect herself and none of the spells hit her.

Wand raised, Cassius eyed his opponents with a fierce concentration. Lips parted with the anticipation of a quick incantation, hoping to outpace his opponents. Some spells suffered from frustratingly long incantations, with each syllable costing precious microseconds during which an opponent could incant, whether silently or aloud, an opposing spell. Microseconds he could ill afford to lose. Advantage was everything.

3... 2... 1...

The countdown was quick.

Go.

Cassius lowered his wand immediately dodged to the side, hoping to sidestep any incoming spells as he closed the gap towards Eun-ji. Luckily for him, no spells came his way as his teammate was able to defend herself from the onslaught. Shortly thereafter he pulled down her blindfold, winking in reply to her thanks.

Stepping quickly again to the side, he retook a commanding posture and raised his wand towards his opponents. Casting the three of them a devilish grin, he readied himself for whatever was to come next.
