Camp, 2023 Summer Duels, Game 6: Ravenclaw vs. Guests

Bea watched as her new skill of splitting spells was successful. What wasn't quite successful was the actual hitting of targets. She swore a short curse as her fire evaded Christopher. Her frustration was only slightly let go of as the split fire hit the young foreign girl and lit her up with strong flames that was starting to burn through her clothes. How silly of the foreigners to think they could win. Her team were strong.

Christopher was honestly flummoxed. It seemed as though his teammates had completely locked up and had absolutely no idea what to do. He cast his own spell but no one else did and he felt it as a couple of the opposing team members flung some at him. He hoped his teammates got it together quickly because he was in no mood to do a 3v1 today.

The Ravenclaw team seemed to have settled into a strategy of fire and blindfolds, with Beatrice neatly wrapping Vladislav's head in a blindfold, while Oliver capitalised on the blindfolded Christopher by casting an Incendio in his direction, causing the boy's sleeve to burst into flames. They did not try to target Seraphina again, but they had no need to. The fire from the previous round had taken its toll and she collapsed in a dead faint. Perhaps it was his struggling teammate, or perhaps it was feeling disoriented from the blindfold, that kept Christopher from trying to get rid of the cloth impairing his eyesight. Vladislav was the only member of his team to make a move, and his Flipendo was a hair's breadth away from hitting Beatrice, but she managed to elude it at the last second.

Meanwhile, Zach had opted for conjuring some ominous looking clouds above the opposing team. It didn't take long for the lightning to follow, but none of hit the duellists, though one came frighteningly close to striking the prone Seraphina as duel was stopped so she could be moved to the Hospital Wing.

As the American-Russian stood through another round of the duel, he prepared the casting he had in mind with as much of the elegance he could muster. But instead of actually being straight forward, Vladislav just attempted to make his face look like Flynn's Smirk just as he stated the incantation; "Flipendo!" and made the wand movement, he missed. And got blindfolded. Hating that he couldn't see anything now. What the hell was he to do when he couldn't see?

Christopher really needed to get his shit together. He had been so transfixed with his teammates' inaction he'd forgotten to do anything. He just sat there and took it. And now he was on fire. This was a real dilly of a pickle he'd found himself in. He really needed to pull his finger out and do something, especially given that they were down to 2v3.

Zach remembered his seniors match. One of them cast a very cool spell, a Metelonjinx, and make the cloud struck on their opponents. Zach had studied the spell and wanted to try it. So he decided to cast the spell this time and in his surprise, the spell had casted successfully. Cloud was formed over his opponents but no one was struck by the lightning. The boy sighed but he was satisfied enough as his teammate successfully hit the opponents and no one was hit. "Thank God," he whispered.

Bea watched as her Obscuro landed perfectly, a blindfold coming out of thin air to wrap snug around Vladislavs' face. Bea smirked, internally wiping her brow at the win. Last time she had cast that spell it had been against Avery and had not gone very well. She was glad it had gone off without a hitch this time, when it truly counted.

She looked out of the corner of her eye as both Zach and Oliver pulled off their own spells. Turning back to what was in front of her, her brow creased as a flipendo came for her. Neatly tucking out of the way, she felt the spell go past her.

Turning a glare at Vladislav, who now wouldn't be able to see, she huffed. She really should pay more attention and not be so cocky. Nodding happily at both her partners, she congratulated them. "Great job you two! We've got this!"

The Ravenclaw only needed to continue half their strategy of fire and blindfolds this time around as they focused their efforts mainly on Christopher. While one blaze extinguished, the Mahoutokoro student would find himself back on fire with twice the flames as Beatrice and Zach both landed the strikes since his half vision and their precision put him perfectly in line. Oliver fell silent but Beatrice would pick up their place by splitting her flame to attack Vladislav as well.

While Vladislav might be considered the easier target with his complete lack of vision, it seemed he had tapped into his other senses as he barely sidestepped the Fire-Making Spell and focused his own efforts on Zach. Perhaps it was echolocation from the spellcasting or happening to remember where Zach had been last he saw him, but Vladislav pinpointed exactly where the Ravenclaw was as his Knockback Jinx pushed Zach back a bit with its force. Zach was more aware now though, ready for when the next spell flew his way from Christopher and easily keeping out of its path. Christopher had split his spell though, the other jinx speeding towards an unprepared Beatrice as it hit her squarely. Both guests would keep on their eye covers, their spells still effective even with the limited perception.

The cloud was not one to keep its presence hidden, although the lightning strikes only acted as intimidation as they missed both duellists. The thunder followed, a deep rumbling crashing out and away from the block.
