It was getting hotter. Astrea quickly removed the impediment that was taking effect deeper and deeper with a quick Finite. Hadashi switched the Cloud back to Slytherin, while also making the thick fog disappear, revealing the stage once again.

Ruby got herself a little bit of healing, which was instantly removed by a full blow from Flipendo, launched by Maksim and reaching Ruby quite quickly. Meenauh flinched as it wasn't pretty.

Dmitri tried full offence with the nastiest of spells — Confringo. But what happened ultimately rare at this point Senior Duelling — it fizzled. Dmitri must have tried to split it, but it was really a difficult spell to split. She knew Phaedra and Delilah did it. The latter in Meenauh's own face. But anyway, Meenauhs's jaw almost dropped as she couldn't quite hold it.

And then the favour was returned. Amaury's split of the Full Body-Bind Curse marked the stage equal. Ruby fell instantly, as if the spell reached her before it was cast. Dmitri tried his best to dodge, but also failed, joining Ruby on the warm floor of the stage.

Meenauh was glad the cloud was calm for the time being.

RPing as Durmstrang iNPC Maksim Preobrazhensky. All dialogue in italics is spoken in Russian.

With a flick of his wrist, Maksim released a quick and dirty Knockback Jinx in the brunette's direction. It appeared that his teammates were more or less successful in their goals and spells as well, now that they were free from their bodybinds. The tides, although seemingly turned, were likely to surge into a storm soon enough, so Maksim tightened his grip on his wand. They would be prepared, and they would emerge victorious. They just had to manifest it.

Dmitri stared, confused and dumbfounded at why no spell emerged from his outstretched wand. It didn't even occur to him that his spell just failed—it was not often (in fact, it has never happened before) that he had ever failed any spell.

It was this fact that he still refused to recognize even as he froze in his spot from a Petrificus he didn't even attempt to dodge. He was that confused.

Ruby healed herself only to be immediately hit with a Knockback Jinx by one of the opponents. She shot a glare at him, but it didn’t really hold much venom. This felt more like a mild irritation, although the continued pain grated at her. Before she could blink, she was hit with another spell almost instantaneously. She fell to the ground, her body now rigid and out of her control, but she couldn’t even be mad. That hit had been so clean, it almost made her respect it. Unfortunately, though, Dmitri was also hit with the Petrificus, leaving Astrea to face the three foreigners alone in the same way that that other boy had.

It would appear that their foreign guests had regarded Astrea's social superiors as the greater threat - perhaps as karmic retribution for their own enforced isolation just the round prior. Her morale intact and demeanour unfazed by her two toppled allies, she remained the only Viper left completely unhindered by their opponents' spellwork.

She, aloof to a fault and a pillar of true tranquillity in the face of disaster, would only look upon their opponents with vague, unamused disregard -- as if daring them to continue overstepping their welcome. The duel had only just begun, and already the power struggle had made fools out of them all. It was only a test now to see which team held the greater adversary and Astrea was not one for her position to be insulted.

All it took was a well-placed bodybind, and two of the Slytherins went crashing to the ground. It seemed neither of his opponents even tried to dodge, the one too taken aback by his fizzled-out spell (served him right) and Cazares simply blindsided by the curse. It seemed to be all coming together for the international team, but Amaury was not fool enough to forget that shit could hit the fan any second now. He would make sure the tides would not turn against their favor.

While dancing under the lightning cloud, Astrea put a nice Protego — knowing the attacks will be directed at her. And indeed so.

Amaury tried to shoot a blindfold to restrain Astrea a little and put her into darkness. Protego ate that.
Maksim tried artillery. A huge Confringo explosion flew towards Astrea, but... Protego ate that.

While the two guests went offence on the only targetable opponent, Hadashi was supportive and healed Maksim a little it seemed.

At the end of that, Ruby shook off the paralysis from herself, which was quite a surprise, because Dmitri was still lying on the floor. Could it be that the curse hit him just a little harder? Or he was just obviously weaker than his fellow Slytherin girl.

[Spectator Thread: Morning]

It was incredibly rewarding to see the two Hogwarts students on the floor, struggling to escape their bonds. A taste of their own medicine, as it were. Even if his team didn't win-- although they would win-- it would be all worth it for this lovely scene in front of him. He hoped they felt thoroughly ridiculous, even as he and Maksim were both foiled by the remaining girl's efficient shield charm. They still had the upper hand-- all they had to do was hold onto it.
