Description: Racing broom used by the Brazilian team during the 2014 World Cup.
Prerequisite: 6th year or later.
Stats: +3 to all stats.
Speed: Top Speed is 6, however when you reach a speed of 6 there is a 10% chance that you will auto miss (with anything requiring an accuracy roll) and you will be auto-hit (with anything requiring a dodge roll).
Effect: Special Action

Enganação. This literally means "cheat" and is a basically the art of sleight of hand for Brazilian Quiddich players. When a Quiddich player attempts to use the "cheat" action where they attempt to cast a spell while in a game, they succeed once per game automatically. Must declare alongside cheat action. All subsequent attempts to cheat have a 10% automatic "not noticed by the spectators" effect.

The summer sun beheld Kheanu Maravilho Mondelez' pale skin as he sat elegantly perched sideways upon his broomstick. Floating slowly into place near the edge of the starting point, the boy regarded everything around him with barely-concealed disinterest as he fussed with the sleeve of his bright orange jumpsuit.

A lot of his fashion choices go over the heads of his more... brawn-not-brain counterparts from Durmstrang. But he couldn't help but preen for the sake of preening (and maybe for anyone looking at him who had even the slightest bit of fashion sense).

One can only wear such summer clothing very rarely in a school up north.

From the viewpoint of a seventh-year student from a school located in one of the coldest regions of Northern Europe, summer was a very welcome sight—and he donned his most cheerful clothing for the occasion. Even if it meant having to labor (and Merlin-forbid, sweat) through a broom racecourse with a bunch of... incivile "uncivilized" used as a noun), the blonde boy still relished the chance to bask in the heat of the Scottish highlands this time of year.

Crossing one leg over the other, the boy turned up his face to the sun, patiently waiting for the signal to start.

Inspiration

Mikael's gaze looked toward the hot summer sun looming overhead of them. Walking towards the open field. It seemed weird to be back here again. Even weirder without Yefim to guide and watch over him. Like an angel watching over him as he slept. The boy felt a frown pull across his features as he gripped the old wooden handle of his broom. Deep scratches from past races gouged into the surface. Reflecting in that of his own skin. A connection between the two, so similar to the one between him and Valentin. The bright light with its own set of teeth, and by gods did he hate remembering the feeling of sharp teeth encasing him.

The boy glanced vaguely over their team. Only one familiar face stood out to him, the pompous boy that he had the misfortune of dealing with a couple years ago. A part of him could not help but be irked that the boy stood there, and Yefim was nowhere to be seen. Not that he expected him to show up. The ring burned into his finger. A promise. A promise unkept, and how much he hated it. Looking into the maw of the darkness that threatened to consume him. Mikael blinked slowly leaning forward slightly as he heard the announcer begin to start them. He knew he wasn't prepared for anything. He was far from being okay, and yet he still moved forward. Trying to breathe in and out. A ventilator keeping him alive. Mikael's eyes narrowed as he waited breathlessly.

Awaiting for the signal to commence the race, Yevgeny had a little difficulty today in putting on his face the expression of dignified self-confidence known to those close to him. After all, participating in his "first" official broom race was once in a lifetime experience for any Durmstrang boy, and this was precisely the tension of this crossroads that the boy felt as his long eyelashes fluttered. Every fibre of his being vehemently resisted every inkling and even the possibility of failure passing through his mind. He had to succeed, and solely for the sake of succeeding. Not wanting to be crushed under this burden, Yevgeny's shoulders made a visible effort to keep themselves upright.

Turning his head to his teammates flanking him, the son of Isaakiy found himself with only one peer, the remaining two Durmstrang racers boasted more advanced ages. Yevgeny had of course heard their names in his initial two years at Durmstrang. But he had refrained from revealing it, for it seemed to him inappropriate flattery to meet someone on such a pretext. If the boy had not yet achieved enough to earn some recognition, well, then he would not act with such a temerity to introduce himself to them through idle chatter.

Inhaling a deep breath, Yevgeny slightly sensed that the lines left over from the intense dance of eagerness and ambition etched momentarily around his eye contour, only to swiftly vanish into the void.

Broom racing had been a lot of fun, though Lorelai was still learning. She had done very good in flying class, and it definitely was her favorite class. Anyway, she was excited to race against another school, and with teammates from other schools. The sun was bright, and she looked up, then she looked back down, she needed to concentrate, so, she did. "Vamos!"Let's go! she whispered to herself, quietly. The truth was, Lorelai really, really had a deep desire to win this race. She needed to win. The girl had always been competitive, but now... More than ever. She smiled at her teammates. "Let's win this!" she spoke in English, loudly, but not shouting. She smiled at the team. Lorelai would make sure to win this race, not only for her teammates, but for her self. A girl's gotta enjoy winning right? She thought. So I gotta enjoy it too. she grinned while thinking of that. Well, let's do this! she thought. It was a bright sunny day, boosting Angelique's mood. The young broom racer hopped onto her Comet, and greeted her team. An looked at the opposing team, Durmstrang, and gave the all a polite nod. This match was going to be exciting for sure. It was time to fly; the soaring sensation filled her as she placed herself on the starting line.

It was her first Broom Race against another school - she was part of a mixed team and was proud to represent Koldovstoretz. She glanced along the spectator thread, wondering if some had come.

Submitted Plays

As soon as the race had began, Chiaki found herself frozen. Not the whole broom, however, which was still travelling towards the obstacles at a very fast speed, but just her, unable to dodge. It was little surprise she would crash head first into the passageway, wincing as the effect of the spell began to fade once she had crashed.

"Agh, shit," she would mutter under her breath, glaring back at her opponent before continuing off as fast as she could. But she'd clearly not be looking as she crashed again into another passageway.

"What is wrong with me?" She shook her head, clearing it of annoyance. She just had to make to the end.

Lorelai was now nervous. She needed to win this. Well, not need she just, really, really wanted to. But, her teammates also needed to work hard, which they did. This is just a race... thought the girl. Well it's fun to win so... this will surely be fun. Right now, she really needed to focus. Laser sharp focus. She couldn't think of her family or her friends or camp, just the race. The truth was, she was being ambitious, wanting more than she already had. The girl wanted to win, and she was trying really hard to, but her opponents were years older than her, so with that, it would be hard to win, since they knew more spells than herself and her team.
