Uagadou Chaser

Izîl surveyed the pitch after scoring. Although she felt proud of the accomplishment, she also felt some dismay at her team's performance. Tigist had performed in a stellar fashion, and she gave a nod of respect to the boy. Zophyr and Mkhaku also did well. Unfortunately, Kissa, her dear friend, and one of the Japanese players seemed to be floating motionless in the air. She flew over towards them quickly, in order to awaken them from their fairy tale slumber. She nudged the boy. "Wake up! You can not sleep here! Go to your house to sleep!"

Turning sharply to Kissa, she hissed: "Kissa! Stop staring at the American boys! We have quidditch to play! Anyway, they are not good looking! They are loud and obnoxious. I do not understand how their parents have let them become such --- feral children! Come Kissa! Let us play!" She had to admit, one of the Americans, the dark haired beater with the penetrating eyes, was arguably somewhat pleasing to look upon, and he certainly knew how to play the game!

Izîl shook her head. This kind of thinking would not do! Had she not just chided Kissa for staring at the American boys?

And so the game began. There was never really time to savor the kickoff, the wind whipping through her hair, because all her focus now was on positioning herself in front of her goals and defending them. The role of Keeper could be a fairly straightforward position, but that didn't mean she didn't take it seriously; these were her hoops, and every point she could save for her team counted.

The first time the Quaffle came flying her way, it made firm contact with her glove, bouncing off to be retrieved by Elowen. A good start, but the second quickly broke her streak. She predicted the wrong way, and the ball went soaring easily through the hoop she'd left unguarded. Ten points wasn't much, but she shook out her gloved fingers anyway, recentering. Her eyes were narrowed at the final approach, which she had much less time to prepare for with the ball stolen off a pass, but this time she was able to get in the way of the shot, the goal denied.

The beginnings of her moment of contentment--two out of three goals saved was decent, though her team hadn't managed to deliver on the other end yet--it was squashed by a figure plummeting through the sky. "Miles!" Of course, yelling his name did nothing, she was too far away, they were all too far away and caught up in their own roles. There was nothing for her to do but grit her teeth. Blatching was a normal part of the game, of course, but that didn't mean a certain anger didn't bubble up anyway. That was her friend, her leader. She hoped that penalty lap cost them.

That round was definitely something. Most of his attempt of scoring was ended in a dud. He knows that due to his older year, the other chaser are counting on him most to score a goal, but this time he felt like he is just an utter disappointment for the team. He wasn’t able to score a single point! But all is well, he just needed to work harder as the game continue. The game has just started anyway.

Sota felt a sharp kick. Heard a strange voice chastising him. He sat up straight on his broom. What had just happened? "Did the game start already?" he wondered softly. The girl, one of the Africans on this mixed team, told him to go home if he wanted to sleep. Had he been sleeping? This country was very strange. Daylight seemed to last for ever and there was hardly any time to sleep properly!

Well, there was nothing for it. He checked the score board --- someone on the team had scored a goal! So that was a positive. And he was unhurt, which was also a positive. He might yet get through this match!

Sota sped off from where he had been dozing to take up his position on the pitch!

Inspired metamorphs gain a (+1) to a stat of their choice as long as there is a conscious, present alluring creature in the thread with them. This does not break caps nor does it stack if multiple applicate users are present.

The first round was not terrible. Tig had kept a close eye on his position. A chaser had tried to swoop in but had been punished. That was satisfying. Caught and slapped. These Americans needed to learn that they can’t mess with older magical schools.

“How did you like that?” He would taunt playfully, watching as the quaffle nearly knocked the chaser off their broom.

It was no time to relax though. It was only a 10 point lead and the game had a lot to go. Tig watched over the field ready for the next attempt and hoped his team could pull off a quick win.

	----- Mkhaku had come to win, especially after the last showing. He’d picked out the most threatening of the opposing side with quick moving deduction at the start of the first quaffle scrimmage. He had entirely different ideas to playing the game traditionally, he had a plan, and he’d take the foul for it. He wanted to make it look like he was simply marking Miles, racing after him to provide some beater interference. At best, it would look like a niche but passable play, and at worst it would look like it did. Hopefully the eyes of others were elsewhere. Of course, he glanced back to watch Miles fall, gasping and reaching out a hand towards him in performative concern. It was a dangerous move, and he was rightly chastised for it. “Oh my god American!” He called after Miles, hopefully passing off some of the blame to those that hadn’t watched the spectacle. When Theodore went in on him, he threw up his hands, before moving off to take his penalty lap.

When Akihiko kicked off from the ground, his focus went only onto finding the snitch, and everything else that was happening in the game wasn’t important. Well, it was important, just not to him. Although his focus was on the snitch, he was able to see the other seeker fall from the sky. He cringed for a moment, but grinned when he realized what that meant. He was the only seeker in the game.

Things were going decently well so far. Zophyr had managed to aim her bludger correctly, but the other player evaded. Meanwhile, 10 points were scored for her own team (thank the skies, that was already more than for her first game), and someone was knocked off their broom. Seemed Mkhaku was already in the mood for cheating, once again. Sure, he was caught, but it actually resulted in something. Though already eager to win, this only brought Zophyr's mood higher. Maybe it was only the beginning of the game, but they were going it win it, she was sure!

Chasers

Possession of the quaffle takes a turn that's entirely Ilvermorny's way. While Louca abandons the battle for the quaffle, he doesn't go far in order to keep a watchful eye out for any more falling teammates after the loss of Miles. His job remains easy, however, as Elowen glides across the pitch time and time again to wrack up points for the Americans as confusion seems to momentarily stall their opponents. If the first round was evidence of anything, though, it's that the tables could turn at any moment. So vigilant he remained.

Beaters

Theodore seems to have taken the loss of Miles very personally. The beater embarks on a revenge tour of his own as he lines up a shot with his original target once more. His fellow beater being knocked out with a cheat seems to be all the incentive the American needed. The bludger flies true this time, slamming into Kissa and knocking her from her broom. The ball immediately ricochets from her and angles toward the other beater from Uagadou. Violence was the intent, and violence was the result. Zophyr takes a brutal hit to be knocked from her broom as well.

Seekers

Amber leaves her fellow chasers to the quaffle and makes her way over toward Kaya to at least try and help put the game to an early end. The two team up to try and give the seeker a quick boost across the field toward where the snitch had been spotted. The momentum proves to be just a bit much, however, as Kaya overshoots her mark and misses her attempt on the snitch.

The quick win and underdog upset was looking a lot less likely as chaos unfolded for Tig’s team. He was dumbfounded as he watched two teammates get smacked off their brooms without any resistance. He himself so lost that a few goals got scored without him giving it much notice.

“What is going on?” He said to no one besides himself as he watched and finally snapped back to reality. Some of his teammates had gotten a taste of oops here comes gravity.

The keeper who was supposed to be top of his school shook his head and refocused, taking in their new situation, as poor as it might seem.
