Julian had never been to summer camp before. Not magical summer camp, at any rate. He normally relished the months spent at home between terms, away from the hustle and bustle of school. He loved school, but he didn't love having to be in a crowded dorm room every day. Now that he was duelling captain, though, he couldn't shy away from the responsibility of helping out with the summer tournament, and so there he was, calling the next two teams to up onto to the piste.
He had to admit, he felt a little intimidated. He'd never presided over a duel that had three a side. He was worried it might end up too chaotic.
"Hello, everyone," he said with a nod. "Please get ready and remember to be sporting about this. This is a friendly competition." The last duel he'd been assigned to watch over had been anything but, and he didn't want a repeat. "We'll begin."

Summer Duels, Game 4: Guests vs. Ravenclaw
Blue in English, Red in KoreanOne wouldn’t be able to tell but Eun-ji was nervous. She never took part in a 3V3 duel and she knew nothing about her opponents. Would their style of duelling be similar to hers? Well, at least the spells wouldn't be different but there was no way to even guess their strategy. At Hogwarts, she got to observe other teams and understand each duellist’s nature and favourite strategy to at least some extent. Sure, the other side was faced with the same problem however even that did nothing to calm her nerves. She wanted to make her team proud. Well..at least we have a better chance than Hana’s team.
Truth be told, Eun-ji did feel a bit sorry for the boy when they met yesterday but she couldn’t be fully on his side. After all, the team he’d be facing was her own. Still, she did her best to cheer him up. If nothing else, Hana had experienced a privilege nobody else did until yesterday so she hoped it helped a little. She also hoped he wouldn’t get badly hurt but that was obviously just a wishful thinking. When she came to spectate his match this morning, he got the worst of it the very first round. Ah...enough about that. Why should she think about all that now? She needed to focus on her own battle!
The witch gave a polite nod as a greatening to her opponents. She wasn’t sure whether her gesture would be appreciated but she didn’t care too much. Eun-ji simply wanted to be respectful. Besides, she was not someone who’d be embarrassed easily. Turning to her teammates, she smiled a little. “Ready?” This was the first time she was paired up with Cassius and Sam but unlike the visiting students, the three of them practiced together a million times. That might be an advantage for the Ravenclaws unless the other team clicked especially well despite being strangers.
Anything was possible.

Summer Duels, Game 4: Guests vs. Ravenclaw
This would be her last duel as captain, so she was determined to win. She usually wanted to win, but now she wanted to win even more. This time she was teamed up with Eun-ji and Cassius against foreign people she had never met before. Last year, she had missed out on the summer games because her parents wanted her home. It was strange. A year ago her parents had been unwavering in the decision to not let her go to the summer camp and this year they had signed her up despite her loud protest. She hadn't seen her family since Christmas and it was extremely hard for the young girl to wrap her mind around why her parents didn't want her home.
When Eun-ji asked her and Cassius if they were ready, the brunette was reminded of a comment the older girl had made a few months back. At that time Samantha had thought the "family issues" Eun-ji had mentioned were silly little fights, but now she slowly started to understand that they weren't. Family was complicated. Enough, she shook off the thoughts and focused on the present moment. She had a duel to win. A small nod and a confident grin were returned to Eun-ji. "I was born ready," she said. "We got this."

If the spring duelling series brought disappointment, Cassius was hopeful the summer would bring redemption. After weeks of exhausting practice and study of new abilities, he felt ready and prepared. Certainly more than he was when he had faced Gryffindor during his ‘third’ year. Unlike the Gryffindors; however, these opponents were unknown entities.
Stepping up to the duelling stage, the young wizard eyed their opponent with a steely gaze, piercing eyes masking the doubt he felt forming in his stomach. No doubt the guest students were competent, else they would not have been selected to participate in the summer festivities; but, Cassius disliked not knowing his opponents. Of course, they did not know him either so that particular annoyance balanced itself out, at least on paper.
Taking up his position beside his teammates, he adjusted his uniform to ensure no articles may come loose to impede his movements. Nodding to his teammates, he flashed a confident smile in their direction and raised his wand. “Let’s go!”

Summer Duels, Game 4: Guests vs. Ravenclaw
Akira smoothed his navy uniform before stepping onto the piste. This type of three-way duel was a new formation, allowing for more uncertainties requiring quick adaptation. It could be especially chaotic when working with two teammates from different schools that one had not practiced with beforehand. In short, this was not a duel that Akira wanted to leave fully up to chance.
He had reached out to Rehnquist-san and Makarovich-san to speak briefly beforehand to introduce himself and get to know them a little as duelists beforehand. Makarovich-san was the Koldovstoretz Champion, and he did not doubt the boy's ability to lead with his charm and ability. Rehnquist-san was the powerhouse of the team as the most experienced duelist. It was a bit more difficult to know the boy personally, as he seemed to be one for action more than words. Overall, Akira was satisfied that their team had the potential to beat the Ravenclaws.
It wasn't often that he found himself to be the least tenured and experienced duelist on the piste. He knew he wouldn't allow himself to be the weakest link. Akira bowed towards the moderator and his opponents before unsheathing his wand in a smooth, practiced motion -- something he had done thousands of times before -- and got into position on Rehnquist's right hand side, leaving their senior in the middle. "Best of luck," he said to his teammates. "Let's show them how it's done."

Another year, another soul crushing moment. After so many loss against hogwarts, it was surprising to see Rodion Makarovich who was once confident in his ability, now cowering in fears and questioning why in the world he was still doing this over and over again. Would he finally win? Or would the history repeat itself like it always has been?

The Durmstrang boy had checked the time on his wristwatch. He had aproximately 10 minutes before their duel started. He'd crack his knuckles outwardly in front of him, gaze flickering over the three students who chatted mindelessly across from them. His eyes narrowed, as if getting a deeper observation. After merely shrugging, he'd turn and swift re-introductions were made to his two fellow teamates. Rodion, a somewhat familiar or popular face from Koldovstoretz and a mysterious, unknown student by the name Akira from Mahoutokoro. They were slightly younger, yet that fact didn't bother him. It was the fact they didn't know each other's own strengths and weaknesses om the field, much less their opponents. This happened every year. Perhaps he should start reaching out ahead of time.. Shaking off the thoughts, he'd make his way over to his starting stance, wand at the ready. A quick nod of approval and acknowledgement was sent to both his teammates and the overseer of the match, a younger Hogwarts student, before his steel gaze hardened, ready for the duel.

It didn't take long for the action to get started. Julian had to feel a little sorry for Eun-Ji and Akira on whom the wrath of their opposing teams seemed to be focused on. Eun-Ji was hit by a tickling spell from Akira almost at the same time as a blindfold emerged to obscure her vision, courtesy of Rodion. Under those circumstances, it was quite impressive that she managed to avoid Milosh's Incendio Duo, though Julian was secretely relieved. Being under that particular combination of spells seemed like a uniquely unpleasant experience.
Meanwhile, Akira was simultaneously engulfed by a gust of wind coming from Samantha's wand and hit by Eun-Ji's Flipendo, square in the chest. It was the sort of combination that made keeping one's balance a losing proposition. But Akira had not been the only member of his team to be hit by Eun-Ji's Flipendo. Eun-Ji had managed to produce a second Knockback Jinx, which had rammed into Rodion's shoulder. Quite an impressive display. She hadn't been the only one, either. In a similarly impressive fashion, Akira had also hit Samantha with a Tickling Jinx. It seemed the Ravenclaw team would be in a bit of a bind trying to cast their next spell. It wasn't easy, trying to speak through the giggling that spell produced.
But not Cassius. He'd managed to remain unscathed and had opted for the more strategic move of engulfing their opponents in the kind of thick fog that would severely hamper their targeting. He'd also managed to hit Samantha with his fog, although Julian could not tell if that had been intentional.

Summer Duels, Game 4: Guests vs. Ravenclaw
The first round had come and gone. Voices flew through the air. A black ribbon flew from the tip of Rodion's wand, weaving its way across the board to it's intended target of which it blindfolded them. A kurt nod of approval was sent their way.
To his other side, Akira sent a nasty spell directed towards their target, but it quickly split and shot off towards the direction of another one of their oppenents. It a a nice surprise.
On the other hand, he had been a let down. Incendio Duo had been conjured but the intended target had seen the string burst of flame coming their way and managed to dodge out of the way. A small tsk of annoyance was mumbled under his breath.
Then the tides turned. Spells were thrown and either of his teammates, Akira more so than Rodion and he merely winced. Their accuracy was impeccable. Now Milosh wasn't good with reassuring words, so he merely shook his head in amusement. They needed to learn to evade better, but in their defense the spells shot across the board quickly, and sharply. It was impressive, he had to give it to them. He himself even got the side effects of one. Nebulus by the looks of it as everything had beicme more hazy. Great, the Ravenclaw team actually came to play. This would be interesting. No duel was fun unless it was a challenge, and he hoped his teammates were up for the challenege.

Summer Duels, Game 4: Guests vs. Ravenclaw
Blue in English, Red in KoreanAh...so it’s me. Eun-ji quickly realised she had become the number one target for their opponents. It was not a good situation to be in. Of course, it was not the first time she had experienced this but having three people gang up on you was slightly more intense than the usual two. Would she suffer the same fate as Hana this morning? Would they keep targeting her for the upcoming rounds or was she simply the chosen one for this one? One could never tell when it came to duels. For most part, it was a guessing game. Unfortunately, the Eun-ji didn’t have time to guess now. She needed to focus and try to avoid at least some of the damage heading her way.
As it turned out, her efforts were decent but nowhere enough to avoid all of it. For the first time in an official duel, she did manage to split a spell and hit her intended targets but she got an equal payback with a well-aimed Rictusempra and Obscuro. Then again, at least she managed to avoid the fire Milosh wanted to send her way. The Ravenclaw really hated that particular spell with passion. From what she just witnessed, the two teams seemed to be on more or less equal footing. It was scary and exciting all the same…well…perhaps more scary now that she couldn’t see anything.
