Salina was born in Christiansted, St. Croix on August 7th, 2012. She was raised by her parents, Irisse and Reginald "Reggie" Skeeter, who're non-magical, aka muggles. There she lived for her first seven in a poverish yet lively state, surrounded by friends, family, and the beautiful island called home. Though it could be dangerous at times, like any other place in the world, very young Salina knew the Carribbean islands was always her home and nothing could change that. Or at least she thought.

Her parents, especially her father, always worked hard to make sure that her family, and often others, were provided for. As a toddler she was much aware but she remembered how often everyone looked so stressed, even though Salina felt happy as could be in the tropics. She grew up with two other siblings, Kendra and Damion, and her younger sister Gabrielle. She remembered how often the elder ones would mess with her because of her optimistic air when she was younger. But things soon changed, or, one could say, flipped.

An old childhood friend of her friend of her father contacted him and her uncle, sharing an amazing job opportunity in the England, based off an idea they threw had when they were teenagers. The friend had believed that the idea could prosper if only they tried, leaving for the States while the brothers focused on other more certain things in order to make ends meet more efficiently. Salina's father, though, was somewhat desperate to get out of poverty so he left with his brother for the U.K. and about a year later told Salina and her family to pack it up, they were going to move to England.

At first it didn't entirely register in her head, thinking of it more like a temporary trip rather than a long term stay. But as the months turned years went on, her realization set deeper into her heart, and so did the underlying misery.

Salina almost hated England. It was the lack of freshness that made her feel emotionally sick to her stomach. Her parents felt thought she would get used to it and that it was just a phase, but no. More often than not one could tell that she was bothered. Because of her parents sudden wealth (her mother also ended up getting a good job with managing shows for music artists) they made sure all of the children were given a proper lifestyle, which meant high-quality food, clothes, education, and entertainment.

She attended private school, surrounded by all types of gifted and/or wealthy children but Salina often felt out of place. Many of the students, no matter the age, held an air of superficiality or inflated egos, if not both. It only added more to the wound, since she already felt like she was in a fake world. Her parents did their best to please her, and her siblings bothered her for being so non-conforming in thoughts that Salina ended up playing along. She acted like she didn't care, doing well enough in school and with her social life. It wasn't too much given she's very young but it was enough for her to bury herself in an active lifestyle. All she cared for was soccer and running tracks.

Salina was also aware that she had a strangeness about her. So did her brother but his suspicions were always dismissed by their parents, given that he was a known troublemaker. It first started when she was five years old, the day after a fireworks show. She and her brother were playing in front of the TV, and he was making her laugh so hard that sparks started flying from her fingers. At first the boy, five years older, stared in shock, trying to comprehend the situation, and ended up running to get water to dose her hands before they, or so he thought, would burn to crisps. But as soon as Salina noticed his frown they stopped. Still her brother went to tell their parents but the blamed him, saying that he was playing with fire around her. Just a few more instances happened like this but they were always dismissed for a non-magic explanation.

When Salina turned eleven years old she received her letter from Hogwarts. She and her parents, baffled by the sudden appearance of the owl through a kitchen window, read and re-read the letter. Salina actually wasn't sure how to take it and was just going to walk away but her parents insisted that it had to be some sort of covert invitation to a gifted school for children. Salina knew she did well in school but it wasn't that great, unless it was about her athleticism. But something within her felt like it might have something to do with the strange situations she had gone through, the unexplainable things she had done, never intentionally, out fear.

Salina ended up being told about the magic world and her place in it. She found out that she was born to non-magic humans called muggles and their opposite, people like her, were called wizards and witches. And that the world was filled with all types of magic, but it was mostly hidden from muggles in order to protect both sides. It was explained that somewhere in her bloodline she had a magic ancestry, which is why her parents could produce a child who was magic.

Despite the peculiarity of the situation her parents were more than happy to support her. Salina went along with things wearily but she oddly for more intrigued than out of place in the wizarding world. She still missed her home in the islands, and definitely had complained more than once about going away to attend a boarding school, but felt like things were only getting started, and probably for the better.
