Broom Racer Koldovstoretz Second Year

The weather in Russia was lovely though a bit chilly but Angelique quickly adapted to the change at Hogwarts - she was thrilled to be able to participate in summer camp. But there was always a thought nagging her about it, the chill seemingly not as cheerful as she wanted it to be. It was just...different. She couldn't walk without glancing back every couple of minutes to make sure nothing was following her. No shadows lurking, ready to murder her the moment she walked with the eyes closed.

Could it have been a mistake coming to Hogwarts? Hadn't she first been curious about it and decided to visit another school - but the trouble that came to her last time was something that she would not easily forget. The shadow - her shadow, followed her menecingly, biding its time....

No, she mustn't think of things like this. She was at Hogwarts, and she needed to enjoy summer camp. And whats better than starting now? She woken up early out of habit to go and do training, and decided to continue doing so at summer camp. Slowly, pulling on some leggins and sports top before brushing her silky blond hair and pulling it into a low bun. Now she had to put on a smile. A dancer must always smile, even when scared, the judges want a good impression... she remembered the words of her fond dance teacher that seemed to be extraordinary with the abilities she had.

Her small backpack was necessary to take too, a steaming thermos of green tea, two pain-au-chocolat which might always come useful and a few other trinkets and stuff. Hastily she walked lightly on her feet (eager not to wake anyone), how many times had her mistress scolded her for jumping like an elephant? The sun greeted her, though the small chill was suspended in the air.

She saw the center table by the fire, might she find a patch of grass next to the table to have a change of view? Angelique walked towards it, before stopping in a slight surprise although she tried not to show it. A girl about her age was there, with a book beside her. The Broom Racer walked towards her, the sun casting a good mood on her like a spell.
"Morning! I'm Angelique." She quickly introduced herself, holding out a hand to greet her. Later, she dumped her bag onto the table and gave the girl a skillful smile. "What may you be doing here this time of the day? Not often I see other people preferring to wake up early." The words were said with no hint of offense, Angelique hoped to perhaps make friends with the girl or at least have a nice chat.

Then, realizing that she had probably rudely interrupted the girl when she was trying to read in peace, she hastened to apologize.
"Oh, I do beg your pardon, I will leave at once if you prefer to be left alone." She wondered what the girl would say.

The bonfire had been a surprise to see in the morning, still burning. Alyssea immediately ran back to the cabin, grabbed her book from the table, and headed back out to read by the fire and watch the sun as it came up. What a way to start off summer camp!

She clutched her jacket close to her as the wind took away some of the heat. Soon, everyone would be emerging from their cabins on the way to the dining hall for breakfast.

She heard the ground rustle behind her, to which Alyssea turned to see. There was another girl with long blonde hair. She didn't look like anyone Alyssea had seen in Hogwarts, so she was probably from another school visiting the grounds.

Alyssea offered her a smile as the girl held out her hand. Alyssea shook her hand. "Morning! I'm Angelique."

"Nice to meet you, Angelique!" Alyssea said. She was glad that there were no language barriers from the get-go. "I'm Alyssea. What school are you from?"

"What may you be doing here this time of the day?" Angelique asked.

Alyssea sighed. "Just reading. I can't go back to sleep, so I figured I'd start my morning."

Then, Angelique quickly said, "Oh, I do beg your pardon, I will leave at once if you prefer to be left alone."

Alyssea quickly shook her head and waved the offer away. "Please don't." She placed her hand on the page she last read and folded the book over it. "It's really nice to meet you. What brings you to summer camp at Hogwarts, this year?"

The girl introduced herself as Alyssea, a pretty name in Angelique's opinion.
"I'll be from Koldovstoretz Foundation. Russia, you know." She said the name with pride, even though she knew that some people looked down at it because of the previous dark history. "Has a dark history though. Myself included." She chuckled lightly, seeming to try and make the conversation away from dangerous waters, "You be from Hogwarts, I suppose?"

She nodded in agreement to what Alyssea said, she knew the feeling of wanting to start the day early. It was nice of her to bring a book, although Angelique was hardly a reader.
"Personally I'm not much of a reader but curling up with a good book or two certainly sounds pleasent. I myself take more interest in sports, Broom Racing and dance. What about you? Are you perhaps and aspiring Duelist, given you like reading?" She deduced, curious about that girl.

Angelique was glad when Alyssea said she didn't want to leave. She liked company and people - it was nice to see someone who had the same taste for...er, what time to get up. When Alyssea asked what she was doing here, the answer didn't come to her head quickly. Why had she come back to Hogwarts?
"Well, I suppose to test myself. See if I could be brave to return. And summer games of course, couldn't let Koldov. down! Perhaps you came here for different reasons?"

The girl could be shy at times and didn't always like the attention that was around her.
"You can call me An, by the way, or whatever nickname you find easy to remember. Angelique is quite a mouthful!" She laughed airily again.

Alyssea nodded. Angelique was from Koldovstoretz in Russia, but while she briefly mentioned the school's dark history, Alyssea shook her head at it. Judging a school by its history undermined the students who attended it. Alyssea knew a few nice Slytherins who weren't complete blood purists and what-not, so she figured the same could be applied to other schools.

"You be from Hogwarts, I suppose?" Angelique asked.

Alyssea nodded. She didn't mind the grammatical error Angelique made; they were already conversing smoothly enough. "Yes, I am. I just finished my first year, though, so I'm no expert in the school yet."

Alyssea looked down at her book as Angelique mentioned it. When the blonde girl asked her about becoming a duellist, Alyssea shook her head with a smile. "No, I'm not interested so much in duelling.* Not a big sports person. I do love dance, as well, though!"

"You're in the summer games?" Alyssea asked, eyes widening with excitement. "What sport are you playing? I'm so excited to watch them. I didn't even know we did that at summer camp! I only came because I wanted to try something new."

Alyssea hummed. Angelique was a beautiful name, more elegant than its English origin. "An sounds just as nice."

It made her think about her own name. How did her parents come up with Alyssea? Or was it from her brother? She made a note to ask him when she returned from camp. What did her name even mean? People often mistook it for Alyssa which did annoy her sometimes.

"I don't exactly have a nickname," she said, "If you come up with one, let me know." She offered the girl a smile.

*OOC Note: Alyssea has actually had her duelling debut now! Second Year, of course. It's not going too well at the moment, but hey, we gotta start somewhere. Have a read here
