Summer Camp '23 Unofficial Spin the Bottle Beans! - Group 2

When Jack met the girl's eyes, he could tell she must have been as anxious as he was. Still, she seemed determined to play the game and win, because, with a little nervous laughter, she suggested a kiss on the hand. Jack beamed at that.

"Sure, why not?" he asked, accepting the girl's offer. "I'm Jack Burnett, by the way. Pleased to meet you. Though I'm sorry it had to be under such...awkward circumstances," he added with a sheepish grin, reaching up to scratch the back of his neck. "It's lucky we can kiss places other than on each other's lips for this game, huh? Otherwise things could get a lot more awkward."

To be honest, he was a little surprised there weren't points for being more or less intimate, like one bean for a kiss on the hand, two for a kiss on the cheek, and three for a kiss on the lips in order to encourage others to be more daring and to make things more interesting. Still, he was glad it was the way it was. Relieved, even.

"So, if you don't mind me asking, what did you join this game for? If I'm being perfectly honest, I did it out of curiosity for the prizes," Jack told the girl.

EXPLANATION
Reducio
Students are separated into small randomized groups (8-ish per group) for ease of moderation and to limit the chaos of mass threads. There are 2 kinds of groups, Y1-Y3 and Y4-Y7.
Each round, students will (ICly) take turns spinning a bottle to determine a partner (determined by me OOCly with randomized rolls).
Round A: Players will have 1 week to RP their character's action. God modding is NOT allowed. There are 2 actions to choose from: kiss/retreat. Selecting 'kiss' means you kiss your partner on the lips, cheek, or hand. If you kiss, you obtain 3 good beans. If you retreat, you get a random roll by me to see if you obtain 1 good bean or 1 bad bean. Bad beans count for nothing, you just got bad luck. Good beans are saved until the very end of the game, where numerous prizes are revealed that you can choose to purchase with your good beans. Please keep track of how many good beans you have at the bottom of your post. If you forget to do so, it's fine, I can figure it out at the end.
Round B: Once players RP their character's action towards their partner (it's always the first name listed), targeted students will then choose whether to accept the kiss or retreat. Remember, the point of the game is to get as many beans as you can! But if you retreat, you will also have a chance to obtain beans too. If your partner doesn't post in time, you will automatically get 1 good bean, so you don't feel like you're missing out on the fun. If your partner asks to kiss and you retreat, both of you are considered to have retreated and a roll will be done for your bean.
Round A and B repeat in this way with a newly randomized assigned targets. Students will always have one week to submit their posts.
Failure to post by a round's deadline will result in the assumption that the character froze up and declined to continue. They will be removed from the game. You can always rejoin though!
All IC rules still apply and IC consequences are possible depending on the situation. Site rules and rating will also always apply. All actions/descriptions must comply with them.
Prizes will be announced at the end of the game.
Reducio
There will be 10 different things to choose from, which will be revealed 1 by 1 later on. I will start a Prize Thread after the game is over and will reveal the lowest rank one first (along with how many of that item I have). You will post in the Prize Thread stating that you want the item up for 'bid' if you wish to obtain it. You will have 7 days to post stating that you want it. I will assign the item a # and then will do rolls for the people who posted they wanted it. Whoever is closest to the # of the item will win the item! If there is more than 1, I will reassign a # and do rolls again for each one until all of them are gone. If someone gets the same #, I will reroll to establish a winner. If no one posts stating they want the item, I will move on to the next item.

The first item revealed is the lowest/cheapest and the last item revealed is the highest/expensive. But IC I think all the items would be fun to use in RPs, so don't just wait for the highest/expensive item to show up! Plus, what you get depends upon how many beans you have too. If you only have 7 beans (from never kissing and always retreating) you won't be able to purchase the highest rank item. So, get as many good beans as you can, so you will have lots of options to choose from! The highest amount of beans you can obtain is 21. Also, don't worry if you end up not winning any of the 10 prizes offered. If you don't win anything, you will be given an unknown consolation prize at the end, which you can either use/keep or sell for $.

Any beans left over after you win prizes can be exchanged for the item I am giving out as a consolation prize for those who don't win anything. The currency rate is 3 beans = 1 consolation prize item. Unfortunately, if you have less than 3 beans after claiming prizes, you won't be able to get anything extra. Thank you for participating in the game and I hope you enjoy your time!
OOC End Date will be September 1st, 2023. This is when the game will OOC officially end.
The game had begun! What a game it was going to turn out to be! The first pair, Pierre and Percival, didn't really have much of a connection. Pierre showed great interest in his actions, seeming as if he would be fine with either one. But Percival seemed a bit frozen, as if he wasn't sure what to do. He didn't even stand up when their turn came. Which in turn made Tone wonder if he was freaking out inside. Maybe this game was too much for him.

As a result, Tone allowed Percival to take a seat off to the side until he was able to decide whether to participate in the game or not. While in the meantime, he gave Pierre 1 good bean as a consolation.

The second pair, Xailah and Theodore were a fun couple. Xailah seemed more interested in feeding her cat some cheese from the platter than playing the game. But she still spun the bottle. However, she opted to retreat from doing any kind of kissing, which in turn sealed her couple's fate. As she was the one who had spun on her partner, it was up to her to choose the action. Unless Theodore could convince her to change her mind, this time they would only be able to potentially get 1 good bean. Theodore didn't seem to take offense though and opted to snack on some cheese too!

When the rolls were done, Xailah obtained 1 bad bean (Bad Bean: 1-5 vs Good Bean: 6-10 = Xailah's roll was 1) and Theodore obtained 1 good bean (Bad Bean: 1-5 vs Good Bean: 6-10 = Theodore's roll was 9).

The third pair, Amadea and Jack were the first couple to actually go through with a kiss. At first, Amadea seemed to space out and Tone wondered if she would go the same direction Percival had before. But then, she seemed to wake up and asked for a kiss on the hand from her partner. Jack accepted the kiss and the two became the first pair to win 3 good beans in this group.

The fourth pair, Hadashi and Egon went through their turn with ease. Hadashi opted to kiss Egon's hand and Egon graciously accepted the kiss. These two really did know how to play the game! It wasn't meant to inspire romance, it was made to let people meet other people and to get as many beans as you could to be eligible to win prizes at the end with your beans! Quite simple!

They both obtained 3 good beans for their efforts.

The fifth pair, Gellert and Dylan were the final pair of the round and although Gellert seemed to understand the true purpose of the game (that it wasn't about creating a romance between players), Dylan seemed a little awkward, glancing over at Egon. From what Tone had seen earlier, it looked as if those two were together. Interesting! Still, the two managed to carry out their mission and both got 3 good beans a result of committing to this!

And so, the first round ended.

But more was yet to come, along with the arrival of two new participants to the game, Sara Kohana and Zykeal Lane, who had found the game late.

The bottle started to spin again.

If it weren’t for his friend Tone to be hosting this game, there was absolutely no way he would find himself here. He was well aware of the game and what you were expected to do. Being a muggleborn, he had an advantage in understanding that he never wanted to get near the game. He was one for hugs, and holding hands, and sweet smiles (though he was incapable of smiling sweetly). While this game permits those as well, it was clear the real intentions of the game was ..urhgh… kissing. He was more unnerved and confused than grossed out. He had yet reached a point in his life where he wanted to do that to anyone ( with the exception of family and cute cats ). But it was an incredibly western game to be comfortable in such a setting. Now, he was rather fond of a lot of western games, but this one? No. Yet, here he was. Too stoic, too stressed, and too shy to even say hi or introduce himself. But he reminded himself it was worth at least experiencing this once if it shows his appreciation for Tone for going all out on planning this game.

To avoid looking at anyone’s eyes, he wore his usual sunglasses, covering his usual intimidating glare. Though, his usual attire of dark coloured clothes did little to soften these features. Upon entering, he merely managed to give Tone a smile ( which was rather unnerving ). Though he didn’t do much apart from that, not wanting to divert Tone’s attention from speculating about the rest of the available groups. Upon sitting down at his group, he crossed his arms, a sign of being guarded. Though he looked rather confident in being here, inside he was dying. It was just he was not one to show his emotions on his sleeves so easily.

And then he saw a cat. Suddenly, he figured perhaps the game wouldn’t be so bad. There was also a familiar face of Hitoshi Senpai. While they weren’t so close, Sara appreciated seeing at least one person he somewhat knew. He was never good at navigating through the seas of new faces.

It was his turn to spin the bottle, and he half hoped the glass would disappear into oblivion at his touch. Alas, it was not to be and it landed on…. an unfamiliar face. He didn’t let his nervousness show apart from the frown etched on his face. Though his expression could be misread as annoyance. Gazing at the unfamiliar figure through his sunglasses, he tilted his head down and softly pushed his sunglasses away from his eyes to inspect him. His cold stare meeting the other person’s rather mesmerizing blue eyes. He lifted his sunglasses back up.

The hammering sounds of his heartbeat could be heard in his ears as he thought of what to say now. Instead, he extended his hand to take in the strangers. His gesture indicating he intended to kiss his hand, and nothing more. He was tempted to say something- anything, but the words caught up in his throat. Instead he was left there with his extended hand, as if confident the stranger knew what he wanted to do. His action could possibly be seen as a stoic prince from a fairytail ( yeay lovely creature whooo ), or someone who wanted to pull the stranger in the depths of hell ( yeay terrible presensee ) [feel free to godmod Sara kissing Gellerts hand if he accepts, if not he’ll just give him a curt nod and lean away]

Placating such trivial games was the requirement of his attendance to this years summer camp, he told himself, at least to a certain degree and as he decided to be a part of as much as he could this summer this would be the least of the pain he'd have to endure for it. Other friends weren't going to make it to this event so he figured he'd roll solo on this adventure. Typical attire for him as he hadn't packed overly crazy for this summer, he had only been sent a few extras from back home before the end of the school year was out; thanks ma'. As such, the teen would arrive casually late and walk slowly to an open space upon the huge mat with the mountain depiction upon it.
"Sor' I'm late," he offered in a gentle tone to the surrounding attendees. The boy was twisting within the digits of his right and an ivory-white aspen wood wand that seemed to be ever-present upon the boy. It was his partner in life, chosen for him and he took that bond quite seriously. Having interrupted the first round midway, he'd allow himself to lower down to a seated position so that his knees would be lifted up in front of him with the heels of his shoes against the ground. Still, the wand twirled. It wasn't a threatening gesture, just one that was done out of repetition, a drumstick for a drummer who needed something to keep their mind constantly working.

Those golden hues watched as the first round went on, a smile was given here or there for the actions taken, some of the individuals he knew from his own year and others were new faces to him; the teen assumed they were from other schools. Zykeal wasn't big on meshing with the other schools, they only seemed to cause problems, it wasn't as if he hated them or anything but he had a hard enough time keeping friends at his own school to have him worry about an entirely different population of adolescent witches and wizards. 'What a nightmare,' he thought to himself before settling his chin down upon the top of his knees and watching the events unfold.

Before long, the first round was over and it seemed the bottle spins had begun once again. There were prizes to this beyond the spin of a bottle. Hell, he didn't even realize that when he walked into this. Regardless of that, he was there, he might as well make the best of it for the time being. Soon enough though it was his turn to spin the bottle and he'd stop the rotation of the wand within his hands. At that point in time, as he stood, he didn't really care whom the bottle landed on and knew that his action with it would be very mild in comparison to some of the participants in the game.

If they expected him to actually bend down and not use magic to spin the bottle, that'd just be odd, but fearing any sort of oversight of lingering professors in the area he decided just to nudge the bottle with the toe of his shoe so it made a few rotations while being displaced from the center a tad. It landed on a boy, made no difference, he wasn't into that specific gender but it was the rules of the game. So, with a smirk upon the smooth face of the teen, he'd walk over towards the guy and give him a little nod before holding out his hand so that maybe he could offer a simple shake of it, "Zykeal, Gryffindor, of the best school," he offered, the smirk pulling itself into a small smile as golden orbs pierced the opposition.
Action: Offering a Handshake to the Hadashi guy.

Spin the Bottle
Gellert had succeeded at the first round easily, having won three good beans, despite Dylan having trouble understanding the purpose of the game as enjoyment. However, luckily, he was provided encouragement and reassurement and had accepted the quick peck on the hand that Gellert had offered. It was an enjoyable game that was about getting to know others and meeting new people. Dylan had of course been nervous but Gellert was as well, just knew how to hide it a little better than most. His confidence was real this time but in other cases he could easily fake it until he made it as he had heard some muggle say in the past. However, he was excited to get to know Dylan as a friend so he ended the interaction with a smile on his face and said, “Thanks for letting me kiss you on the hand, Dylan. I have no ill intentions and would love to be friends with you.” He smiled again to reassure the person that the bottle had spun upon and continued the conversation amicably with a little friendly question. “Are you from Durmstrang as well? If you are, wonderful! We can continue to build a friendship beyond summer then, if you would like! I act quite a bit different over there as my parents have standards for behavior that they would have me follow, as well as because I attempt to impress the instructors in my coldness and strength but this is summer and Hogwarts so you get the true me, which I suppose the students of Hogwarts would describe as Hufflepuff behavior. If you want, I would love to owl you to get to know you more” He saw Dylan snuggle up against another person and left him be for the moment as he stepped back towards the bottle and waited for the next round to begin. There was a young Japanese man who seemed to be unappreciative of being here at the strange game. He was displaying confidence but something about him suggested something deeper. He was wearing sunglasses which created a gangster-like appearance, but it did not seem his personality was such. Instead, Gellert suspected that despite the fact that he seemed stoic, he was actually stressed at the game. Gellert wondered if perhaps it was the kissing that bothered the other boy or perhaps the crowd. Crowds were definitely a hard thing to overcome and Gellert could understand the need to be alone. It was a fake confidence he supposed. But then something changed, a minute relaxing in the young man’s posture. So Gellert traced the view of where the Japanese boy looked and he saw a cat. Gellert smiled and was warmed by the fact that inside the outwardly stern-looking boy was a fondness for animals. Gellert, although he was of a look that suggested coldness and not understanding of the softer nature, he was truly of a characteristic to be fond and loving. To his surprise, the person he was watching spun the bottle and it landed on himself. Although the person seemed to frown, Gellert brushed it off as nervousness. The young man looked straight at Gellert’s eyes and he felt his heart beat faster. He allowed the other person to kiss his hand and introduced himself. “Hello, my name is Gellert Shroeder.” It was all princelike, something Gellert himself would do.

Calming Presence in Effect
The boy held great respect when the boy didn’t make a move to accept or deny his proposal to approach in the way that the other student felt comfortable with. It wasn’t his place to force himself to perform a trick just for a treat that would ultimately mean nothing by the end of the things. There would be a delighted smile and a nod, and then he would back away gracefully. A bean would be given to him, the first one of the game for him, and he would be the first one to take the bottle again and give it a very firm and confident spin. This was just for fun, after all. He didn’t really care whether it was a platonic or romantic activity as much as he had managed to get himself out of his cabin and had managed to yank his brother into the mix as well. Of course he was keeping an eye on his twin, but he was also keeping half an eye on the bottle and the way that the lip slowed to a stop in front of one of the oldest students among them.

With a bright hum mixed with a sigh of coolness, the boy got to his feet and crossed to the young woman. She, being his senior, had the right to reject him outright. “Hallo!” He nodded to her shyly, looking down at his feet and scuffing the ground a little bit. “Uh… so, I did land on you and you did choose to join the game… but…” He trailed off, shrugging as if the end of his sentence should be rather obvious. She was a fiery redhead, a color that denoted danger and yet so very familiar to Piérre if only because of the titian hair color that his twin was in possession of. Perhaps it was because of that that he felt some level of comfort speaking to this girl. Despite himself, Piérre smiled lightly at the ground and put his hands behind his back as an almost bashful nature overwhelmed him and humbled the jester into patience and permittance to proceed. “I’d… I’d like to kiss you on the cheek or forehead or something… but if you just want a hug or a kiss on the hand like others…” He wasn’t going to mention another possibility, that of a kiss upon the lips (no matter how softly he would attempt).

She was a lovely young woman, like all young women seemed to be as they entered into the zenith of their bloom. It was for this reason that he acted so cordially, so demurely and so submissively. In the end, if she desired a kiss, he would bequeath it gently as a light, soft pressure wherever she was most comfortable with (you may choose, Amadea) as if it had been given by a breath of wind hardly strong enough to rattle the dried autumnal leaves from their branches, and if she wanted a hug, he would give her a hug with delight and with a small laugh. Pulling away, he would grin widely to the senior student once again and with a bit of giddiness in his step as he began to return to his place. There was a slight flutter in his heart, a lightness that the boy usually only felt whenever he was truly happy with the condition and the situation of his life at that very moment. Usually it came from hanging out with his brother or from finally mastering a spell that had previously been getting the best of him, but it did come also when he found himself hanging out with students and individuals that he considered friends, or those that he simply wanted to be around. She seemed nice enough, and this seemed as good a way as any to meet her.

Yet, as he got back to where he had chosen to be his roost of choice, Piérre became aware of raising volumes from another group close by to his own. Green eyes flicking immediately to the noise of chaos and dissonance, Piérre realized that his brother had shot to his feet alongside pale Valentin and they both seemed to be rallied against… someone else in their group. Wait, wasn’t that the empty-headed one that was at the Slytherin table that one time when Piérre was overhearing gossip? Ohhhhh yeahhhh! Piérre was in his class, actually; he never really made any efforts to get to know that guy, but even as brief as interaction had been with him the boy had heard enough to realize that holding a long-term conversation with the fella would likely lead to boredom thanks to a strangely absent personality behind a bravado of flirtation that was highly unnecessary in the eyes of the scintillating Piérre Marchonné.

Well, whatever it was that was going on it was escalating really quickly and in a way that caused Piérre’s eyes to widen as he recognized telltale signs of his brother’s body language tensing and tightening in preparation to uncoil upon the very first person who dared to act out against him. Piérre couldn’t hear words, they seemed to be for those people alone, but he could see the subtleties of his movement, the way that his weight shifted and repositioned itself. It was the swaying of an individual looking for the right way and the right place to strike. It was a preparatory assessment, a preparatory maneuver.

And then, oh how Piérre’s jaw dropped as Romeo’s coiled movement uncoiled in the way that the Britalian was not expecting in the slightest! How quickly Romeo swooped down upon Valentin, the way he finally kissed the albino full on the lips in the sights of everyone in the vicinity. A sharp cry left the boy as a wide open-mouthed smile spread from ear to ear.

Before he thought, the boy pointed towards the scene and crowed out his delight, it was finally happening! He knew it! He knew it! “CANON!” He shouted with glittering green eyes and a wave of euphoria rushing through him. Everything experienced up to this point, everything was worth it! “I TOLD YOU! CA-NON! A-HAHAHAHA!” It was a laugh that would likely seem half maniacal and half victorious; such was the nature of the boy Marchonné, never half warm and half cold. Such feelings could only be felt completely and never half-way. “E ' ora, Romeo! Te l'ho detto! I. DETTO. TU! AH-HAHAHAHAAA! It’s high time, Romeo! I told you! I. TOLD. YOU!

No sooner had Piérre taken delight in the completion of his own fabrications and plannings, that Romeo drew away from lovely Valentin Schnell and his heart of molten gold, that another event would quickly occur. Piérre gasped in awe as Romeo lashed out for that boy that seemed to be the foremost interfacer. The wrath of his brother–as he tenderly brushed his jugular and the hardening adam’s apple that was forming there as his voice was maturing just as much as he was–was sudden and vengeful, an action that was swift and judicial in its execution like a judge, jury, and executioner all in one.

All the boy could do was watch. The events of his own circle were paling in comparison to the intrigue and the drama that was unfolding just across the way…

Oh what he would give to be there at this moment in time… Piérre wished that his brother knew that he would stand alongside him in a heartbeat just as encouragement and so that his calming presence would flow over all parties involved… but he was engaged here. He was trapped here… oh well…

At least he was getting a good show in the meanwhile to distract him from the more mawkish gestures that were going around in his group. He wasn’t really one for love-talk, and there seemed to be quite a bit of that going around in his group. Flirting wasn’t his strong suit, nor did it seem to be a strong suit of others when it was exercised upon him… hm.
Action: Letting Amadea Pick Her Poison

While enjoying his little conversation with the older girl, Theo was successfully distracted from the game and only realized it was his turn to spin the bottle when he was nudged.
"Sorry, I'm doing it!", he said, raising his hands apologetically before giving the bottle a good spin. It came to a halt pointing at a red haired boy who he guessed was around as old as he was.

"Hi! I'm Theo." He would eye the boy for a moment, not sure what to do next. There was always this slight awkwardness when it came to initiating something with a stranger and as people-loving as the young Thunderbird was, he too struggled with overcoming that awkwardness a little, at least sometimes. But he always did.
It was the same now, with a slightly awkward grin he would get up from his seat next to Xailah and extend a hand to the boy. "Would you mind if I kissed your hand?", he would ask him, only to add "I need to catch up on the good beans."

It was only now that he looked around the group that he realized that he was missing Greta a little. The exchanging of glances across the circle, or even last time, when they fought that randomly violent kid together. Not to mention the sort of nervousness at the thought that they might spin each other- he would have been lying if he claimed he never tried to calculate the spin, only that it never really worked.

ill put the picture and stuff of Hadashi when i get in from work, promise.
For the first informal social thing Hadashi had done in a while, he could think of worse ways to spend his time. This was actually interesting. He was meeting new people, and socializing, the latter of which Hadashi had neglected to allocate time to as of late.
Though, kissing them was an... interesting way to interact with them. Eh, interesting, unorthodox, flat out weird, take your pick of adjectives to describe this game.

This time when the bottle was spun, it had landed on him. The boy was a Hogwarts student, judging by his accent. He introduced himself as Zykeal Lane, and offered... a handshake? Hadashi had not been aware that was an option. Not that he would have taken it; handshaking was not something you usually did in Japan. Quite unsanitary. But, people of this culture would probably see bowing at the waist to be a sign of EXTREME respect, rather than a simple greeting.

He then had the gall to call hogwarts the best school. As if he'd ever been to another one to verify such wild claims.

Hadashi got up, steadied himself for it, and took the handshake, but ended up bowing slightly anyway out of habit. Welp.
Speaking in English, he replied.

"Hadashi Hitoshi. From the school with the best duelists, Quidditch Players, and higher achieving students. Truly an honor to meet you, Lane-kun."

Hadashi returned the playful smirk, actually enjoying the banter. Perhaps he would swallow his pride sometime and have Shamsi-kun or Narumi-kun take him to some social thing they like to do...
Actions: Witty banter. And Accepting the handshake

The spot offered was regarded with some skepticism (as was natural), but eventually accepted with a light shrug. Xailah would take the seat cleared for her, squeezing between the foreign boy and another peer. The young man's easygoing and chipper temperament would earn him a soft smile. His interest taken in the cheese platter would appoint the Gryffindor as the unofficial waitress of the group; opting to monger cheese as an offering of peace, rather than take the kissing route. "A fine choice sir, might I suggest the gouda? Or perhaps a sharp cheddar, if you are feeling bold? Although, I must say the latter is rather pungent. My cat, however, seems to enjoy it, so it must not be all that bad." It was a fine tradeoff if she had any say in the matter. Even if it did mean that this nice boy was now afflicted with cheese breath (mwahaha >:) )- which was truly a devious, albeit unintentional, malady to bestow someone during a kissing game. Oops.

Well, to be fair, he had been the one to take the cheese.

"Oh, yes, now that you mention it, I believe I've seen you here and there as well. It is a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, Theo- might I assume that is short for Theodore?" Xailah bowed her head in a cordial greeting. "I am Xailah, Gryffindor, seventh year. That fellow-" she'd direct a silken finger to the large, grey cat investigating the other assorted foods displayed nearby, "-is Schrödinger. He is my chaperone for the evening. He is also here to sample the food, as he is an avid connoisseur of the culinary arts." Her eyes lidded in a amused expression, softening her lantern-like gaze. They widened slightly, however, as Theo then tried to turn the tables. Clever boy. Xailah hadn't been expecting her own question to get thrown back at her (more or less). Her vague smile from before curled into a one-sided smirk. "Oh, on the contrary, my reasoning for being here is not at all that interesting, I'm afraid. I am simply on a mission of understanding." She explained, she wouldn't bother elaborating on the kissing part- yes, it was not her cup of tea, but she was mostly unfazed by the act... mostly. She was well aware that Spin the Bottle wasn't just about kissing- or "romance", should one call it that- but the way juveniles acted around each other when in the mist of a dare could certainly draw questions. Case in point: a very passionate fight, product of a kiss, was brewing in an adjacent group. Yikes.

Theo's answer would come as a surprise, and it shed a little more light on how this young man thought. The Ilvermorny student was a person of the people, a simple fellow with a simple philosophy; meet new people, make new friends. "So I suppose that means you are not, in fact, here for the cheese?" She'd eye him quizzically before chuckling. "That was an excellent answer Theo, far better than what I anticipated. I like the way you think. However I think we have a different idea of what a challenge is." Yes, she'd be sticking to her way of picking brains as a challenge, and means to make new connections. Just by striking up a conversation with the Ilvermorny boy, she had already collected more information from him than a kiss could ever give her.

Inevitably, the two students would have to be separated; and it would be Theo who was the first to be pulled away. The bottle would select a new person for him, who he was then obliged to meet. As he departed, Xailah nodded a farewell- having found their short time together to be pleasant- before giving the bottle a spin for herself. By the will of some perverse and mischievous entity, it would point true to Amadea Campbell. Yes, Amadea "Blubber Butt" Campbell. Yes, the one from the dungeon. That little factoid was squashed, however, long ago.

Xailah never considered Amadea (or her friends) as anything remotely close to an enemy, nor did she regard any of them maliciously. As soon as Piérre was through with fulfilling whatever strange goal he had elected; Xailah would approach Amadea and offer her a tight-lipped smile, just as she had done with Theo before her. "Hallo, how are you? I have no interest in kissing you." It was then the Gryffindor actually acknowledged she and the Hufflepuff were the only two girls in their group- and, well, girls had to stick together. It was the unspoken girl code. There was no better offering to express kinship, than food. Xailah would extend the cheese platter to the redhead. "Would you like a piece of cheese, instead?"

Xailah is retreating from Amadea, but seems content in making idle conversation with her.

Theo has the cheese touch, watch out.

Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....

mentions ⭒ the infamous dungeon fight
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
𝓐madea fought the blush forming on her face, hoping that her cheeks were not resembling the curly locks of her hair. Talk about embarrassing; not only was she about to kiss a boy's hand but she also was donning an entirely monochrome head, cheeks, hair, and all. Amadea tried her best to think about anything other than the fact that she was now leaning forward, taking Jack's outstretched hand and pressing her lips gently against his skin. It helped that Jack was still talking, giving her the opportunity to collect her thoughts before responding.

"Nice to meet you too, Jack," she said with a laugh, finding comfort in the fact that he found this situation as outrageous and odd as she did. "I'm Amadea. It definitely is an odd way to meet...but looking on the bright side, its a way to meet new people I suppose! But yes, I am glad that there are other options besides...real kissing too. If I had known that I definitely would not have signed up for this game." Which brought her to the next question: why had she joined the game? Did she tell him the truth and potentially look stupid? Or lie and potentially trip over her words and...still make herself look stupid? Either way, the outcome seemed the same so Amadea opted for the easier choice: truth.

"Honestly," she said with another laugh, "I didn't really read all of the information before signing up. I saw 'beans' and just kind of automatically put my name down." Her blush that had faded was slowly creeping back now as she continued talking. "I have a giant sweet tooth and figured, hey if I can get some free every flavour beans, why not participate? Obviously now I know that's not the point of the game...but prizes definitely intrigue me!" She hoped she didn't sound too dumb with her complete lack of attention to what she had actually signed up for. At least, she supposed, she hadn't come here with the intention of meeting the love of her life. It seemed like anyone with that intention would be let down. "Do you have any idea what the prizes are?" she asked. Before he could answer, though, the bottles were spinning again, and this time, two people landed on Amadea. Of course, it was just her luck. Though, now that she understood the strategy of the game, it could give her the chance to rack up some good beans for prizes.

The first boy approached; Amadea took a moment to give him a once-over, not recognizing him at all but giving a small smile nevertheless. "Hi," she greeted in return. "I'm Amadea. Amadea Campbell." Automatically, Amadea began to reach out her hand in a greeting but realized that it might send the signal that she was asking for him to kiss her hand and quickly put it back down at her side. This was when she had to make her decision, though he had offered a few options: the cheek or forehead. Amadea forced herself not to let out the sigh of relief that he wasn't expecting a kiss on the mouth.

"A kiss on the hand sounds good to me!" she said, smiling and offering it (for real, this time) out. He kissed it, soft and gentle, before pulling away. It appeared as though there was some drama going on around them, but Amadea was too engrossed in her previous conversation with Jack, the kiss from the unnamed boy, and Xailah who was now approaching.

Amadea immediately recognized her from the infamous night in the dungeons. Her eyes narrowed reflexively, but she reminded herself that Xailah was not the target of her anger; she had only been caught in the crossfire of Ruby's wrath. Luckily, it appeared that the other girl was not holding a grudge either. At least she was blunt about her intentions. "That is fine with me," Amadea said. "I would love a piece of cheese! What kind is it?" she asked as she inspected the platter. She gave Xailah a tentative smile; as the only two girls in the group, she felt a sense of camaraderie with the Gryffindor that she did not feel with anyone else. "Perhaps it's because I don't know you very well," Amadea continued, "but you don't strike me as the type to sign up for such a game. What brought you here today?"
