Cassie started to talk about how dragons weren't common for a cute girl like Akina. Akina felt a fresh wave of anger surge through her stomach. Cute?! Cute?! Is that really what you were going to call a second year? CUTE?! She took a few deep breaths and glued her eyes to the wall. Akina wasn't supposed to be getting mad at Cassie, when she was such an organized person to be wanting to do all this Summer Camp stuff Then Cassie started showing Akina what to do. When Cassie left, she did what Cassie had demonstrated.

A voice interrupted her thoughts, and Akina's head snapped up, causing the paper to topple out of her hands. She twisted in her seat. There was another person standing there. Akina's eyes immediately flew to his bright hair, which seemed to scream summer, and also the origami tent. He greeted her, asked her if it were her first time in the tent, and asked her if she had ever done origami before. Akina nodded to acknowledge his greeting.

"Yes, it is my first time in this tent. I've done origami a few times, but not the magical type," Akina said quietly, focusing on not making the head look like a goblin. She leaned back to get a better look. Well, it kind of did look like a goblin. She hoped the spikes would change that.

Zophyr was quite relieved when a girl - the host, it seemed - came in the tent to help. She introduced herself as Cassie, and got a griffin kit for Zophyr out, explaining how to assemble it. She asked whether the Uagadou student knew how to sew, to which she nodded."I've learned before." But it didn't hurt to have a little mind refresher, which Cassie gladly gave her.
Following Cassie's and the kit's instructions, Zophyr quickly sewed the pieces of cloth together, trying to make the griffin's body. Cassie left after a few moments, saying she'd be back, to which Zophyr nodded with a smile, too concentrated to do anything else. She honestly wasn't completely sure why she was making this griffin. But she loved griffins. So why not have a stuffed animal of one?

After a couple of minutes, someone came in again, and Zophyr looked up, thinking it was Cassie. She was wrong, though - it was someone else, a brown-haired girl who seemed like she came from Hogwarts. Zophyr nodded to her as a hello. It wasn't that she didn't want to speak to this girl in particular, it was just that she wasn't really one for human interaction. If the girl decided to speak to her, that was fine, but she would have to be the conversation starter.
Zophyr looked back down at the body she'd been sewing. She was finished what Cassie had told her to do, but Cassie wasn't back yet, so she decided to keep going. The kit's instructions said to fill the body up with cotton, and Zophyr obliged. She wasn't sure whether she was allowed to, but honestly, she didn't really care. Better in trouble than bored.

Today was the first actual activity, besides stuffing ourselves with sugar, for summer camp. The DIY Fair. That reminded me of a few pleasant memories: My mum was very fond of DIY, and often did it as a hobby, mainly crafts. Nanny, my maternal grandmother, loved DIY and always brought some seamstress kit with her. I liked DIY too, but I didn't dabble in it very often. However, when I heard about the DIY Fair, I got excited.

I was here for the first day, July 4th, and I was determining which tent I wanted to go into. I was useless at origami, and I did like pottery, but I wasn't willing to get my best t-shirt messed up. So I went with doll-making. I'd probably make a doll for my little cousin Catriona, for her birthday or something, or a gift for when she gets ready to go to Hogwarts in a few years. I headed toward the doll-making tent.

Going inside pretty pink tent number one, I noticed that there were already a few other people in the first tent. Dang it. I should have come earlier, but I brightened at the prospect of meeting students from different schools, something I hadn't done, even at the two balls I went to. There were tables set up, and bags on them were filled with doll-making supplies. I was unsure what to do first, but I assumed I needed stuffing and sewing. A lot of stuffing and sewing.

I decided to make a cute little dragon for Catriona. She liked dragons, I bet she'd like a stuffed doll dragon from Cousin Aurie. I approached the 6th table and decided to strike up a conversation. She had brown hair and eyes, and, from my opinion and vantage point, was quite tall, definitely over 5 feet. I wasn't sure how I felt about that, but I decided to talk to her. " 'Ello there! Are you...are you enjoying summer camp so far?" Well, it was a start, but not a bad one!

After leaving Lorelai in the Pottery tent to paint her pottery, Cassie walks out once more. She goes to the doll-making tent. Now she decides to give her walk a pattern, which shall be pottery to doll-making to origami and finally back to pottery again.

As she walks in to the doll-making tent, she realizes there is a new face inside. Someone she does not recognize. 'Hello!' she says as she walks to the girl. 'I am Cassie Jiang, a second year Ravenclaw, welcome to the DIY Fair, I will teach you how to do Doll-making here. May I ask for your name dear? Good. I see you already took your materials. You see the labels? A phoenix? I do not usually like someone to take things themselves, but as you did nothing wrong, this is good dear. Now, please open it and take everything out. Good. Now, first, do you know how to sew? We will be sewing the main body of the phoenix first.'

Cassie picks up a needle. 'First, cut some of the thread of and get it through this tiny hole. Good. Now make a small knot here, and we can get sewing! Perfect.' Cassie picks up the two pieces of cloth. 'Insert your needle here, and do this, good, this. See? this is one cycle. You just repeat it when sewing. Good. Sew the two pieces of cloth together. I will be back to you in a while. Do leave a hole before completing the sewing.'

Zohpyr, the boy has finished what Cassie told him to do. 'Great job!' she says, 'now, see this cotton? Stuff them in the body of you have just sewn. By the way,' she picks up another two pieces of cloth, 'sew them together and stuff cotton too. See? Stuff them all tight but not too tight, there is enough cotton. Finally, sew the two parts of the griffin together and you are ready to go! I will be back soon!' Cassie is a bit tired, actually.

Cassie wanders around to the Origami tent. A new boy is already here. 'Hello!' she says, 'what are you making today? Your name please? I am Cassie Jiang, I will be teaching you origami here today!' She pauses. 'Fans? Cool! Well, here is a fan kit. You want two fans? Okay, I will make this an exception, here is another copy for you. This is a piece of cut white paper. Please paint it as you want first with the paint here. I will be back soon and we will start making. Have fun!'

Akina has already finished her work. 'Good job!' Cassie says. 'Those spikes look wonderful. Now, stick them to the main body. Wait, you are going to do this later. As I leave. Now, we are making the tail together. Look at this tail, you can see from its shapes that you fold this way, and this. You know,' Cassie tries to chat with Akina as she folds, 'I always consider girls younger than me as cute. Alright, good. You repeat this for three times. Get it? Nice. I will be back to you soon!'

Cassie leaves the tent. She goes back to pottery to check once more. Mellani has already finished her sketch. 'Hello Mellani! Done with your sketch? Wow, it is pretty! I see you already have clay here. All you have to do is to make the shape with the clay. This shape is quite difficult, to be honest, more difficult than a vase or something. Anyway, here, first you make the bottom with this,' she picks up a thick wooden tool, 'make it thick enough so it won't be too vulnerable. Then, put some clay to the edges of the circle you have and use your hands to pull it higher. See, like this you make the surrounding of it. Finally, you can use this thin wooden tool to carve the pretty shape you have here, cut the parts you do not want. I will be back soon! Have fun!'

Madi nodded back at the girl who had nodded to her. Shedidn't recognize this girl at all, she probably went to a different school. She was about the same height as Madi, maybe the tiniest bit shorter. She also looked Madi's age, so she assumed that the girl was a second year wherever she went to school.

Madi turned around and saw a red-haired girl with green eyes come up and sit at her table. She was pretty short, nearly a foot smaller than Madi, who was only a little taller than average. "'Ello there! Are you... are you enjoying summer camp so far?" The girl asked.

"Oh, hi! Yeah, I am. Are you?" Madi said. She was trying to sound polite but maybe she had come off as over-enthusiastic. She hoped not, that could lead to some really awkward conversations.

She saw the instructor coming over. She introduced herself as Cassie and then asked for Madi's name. "I'm Madi McQuade. I'm also a second year in Ravenclaw." Madi smiled. She was surprised she didn't recognize Cassie if they were both in the same year and same house. Cassie moved onto instructions, and asked Madi if she knew how to sew. When Madi confirmed that she knew how to sew, Cassie left. Madi began to sew the body, leaving the hole for stuffing.

Once she was done, she left it alone. She didn't want to stuff it before Cassie gave the okay. She'd already gotten materials when she wasn't supposed to, she didn't want to mess up again.

Cassie had come back in the cozy green tent, and complimented the shape of her vase. She smiled, and thanked her. Cassie said she should start painting the vase, and Lorelai started doing that. Once she heard the other girl's name, she immediatly thought So the girl's name is Mellani? thought Lorelai. She had never met someone with this weird name. "Cool! I mean, Castelobruxo is mostly known for Herbology and Care Of Magical Creatures, but the I love the design of the school! What do you like about Hogwarts?" she asked. The girl was still looking at her vase, since she needed to concentrate while painting. Lorelai had always had a large passion for painting, since she was about three years old. The girl even know how to paint with her feet. She looked over to Mellani's table, she was almost finishing, making something that looked like a bed, Lorelai figured it was for a Pygmy Puff, since it was round and small. "I like your uh- bed." she said. If it wasn't a bed what was it? The words had just escaped, since she was used to being nice, and this girl, seemed to be someone that possibly would like to be friends with her. Then, she was done painting, and she would leave, but first, she needed to say goodbye. "I have to go now, but I'll see you around Mellani! Bye! It was nice meeting you!"

Doll Making, huh. Stephen was not a guy who was insecure with himself, but making dolls was not the type of thing he envisioned spending his time doing while at summer camp. He cast a glance over at EmmaLee and smiled even so. She had really wanted to do it, and it wasn't as if there was a whole lot else going on today at camp, so why not? It gave them a chance to spend some time together, and he was not going to complain about that.

After taking his place and learning what the options were that he could make, the arrow on his enthusiasm scale suddenly swung from wet cat to catnip city. The "dolls" they were making were of magical creatures and not the girly-girl options he had initially envisioned. What a relief. He had a choice between things like unicorns, hippogriffs, phoenixes, and... and... gnomes. Gnomes? Really? Turns out there was going to be a Gnome Race in a couple of days, and if he made a gnome for the race, an instructor would later enchant it so that it could run the race. Nuff said right there. Stephen was all in upon hearing that.

Looking at the plethora of doll making materials, Stephen's enthusiasm grew even more when he decided upon his gnome's costume. He laughed aloud and told EmmaLee that his gnome was going to be a bit of an homage to their past, and he set to work mentally taking an inventory of the black and purple and tan material, bearding, and a very particular surprising bit of anatomy he would eventually gather when given permission to do so. He listened to the instructions and could not wait to get started.

Though seated next to her, he teasingly told EmmaLee in a very mock-serious tone, "No peeking, Missy! I know it is a big ask sitting next to each other, but you just keep your big, pretty eyes on your own work once we start. I want my masterpiece to be a surprise, so you shall just have to wait to see it." Then he stopped for a minute and thought twice before saying the next thing that came to his mind, but decided her sense of humor was strong enough to take it, so he proceeded. "It can be a game of 'I'll show you mine if you show me yours'," and he winked at her, laughing, before turning his shoulder to obstruct her view of his work station.

Cassie walks back in to the Pottery tent, to see if her two 'students' have finished. She is quite surprised to see there is still a vacancy. Weird, people should have been excited for this chance of being one of the three. Anyway, she sees that Hannah has already finished with her painting. Cassie walks to her. 'Lorelai! It is a great job! It is so beautiful! Congratulations! Now, you may leave now. This pottery will be wrapped and sent to you through owl a month later! It will be cooked and will look nice. Good, I will take care of it.' She wraps it and puts a label on it saying 'Lorelai Diniz Second Year Castelebruxo'

She walks out of the pottery tent. The other girl hasn't finished yet. True, it is not easy to make. According to her routine, her next stop will be Doll-making. A new girl has come here. 'Hello!' Cassie says, smiling to her, 'I am Cassie Jiang. I will be teaching you here! Your name please! Oh, Aurora. Nice name. Please tell me what you want to make. A dragon? Alright. Here you are, a bag of materials for you. Do you know how to sew, dear? I will show you and you continue. A dragon has only two pieces of cloth.' Cassie shows Aurora how to sew. 'Now, all you have to do is to continue this and sew around the two pieces. I will be back soon to check! Do sew carefully!'

She walks to Madi, another girl who is learning doll-making. 'Hi Madi!' she picks up the cloth Madi was sewing. 'Well, you sew wonderfully Madi! Have you ever tried sewing before? It is wonderful! Now, turn this little bag like thing inside out and stuff the cotton inside. Stuff most of them. Then, Cassie picks out another pieces of cloth and gives it to her. Sew them together too and stuff the rest of the cloth inside. Finally, sew this tail to the bottom of the body. Then you are ready to go with your pretty phoenix! Have fun!'

Cassie leaves the doll-making tent. She gets to her final stop of the cycle-- the Origami tent. All except for one has finished his job. The boy-- Hiro has finished painting his fans. 'Hello Hiro! I see your fans, a blue one and a pink one? Cool! Now, fold them like this. Imagine this as the shape of one third of a circle. Imagine the center of the circle. Make all the folds point to the center. Also, fold like this. One inner, one outer. Get it? Now, look inside the kit, you see those wooden sticks? One by one, stick them on the fan next to the folds you made. Stick them nicely. And finally, hang this to the end of the sticks to bind the sticks up. Then you will be ready to leave with your fans! But do wait for me to check finally before you leave.'
