T here was something so funny and yet annoying about the girl she was dueling, it was hard to decide which one to react with. Perhaps Lea was being harsh with how unexperienced the other was, but it seemed like Winona wanted to be taken seriously and the Hufflepuff had no reason to for the time being. And so the Slytherin's frustrations would still be met with a blank stare or the small twist of a smile that never seemed particularly friendly. She had debated giving advice throughout the duel, but the idea flew out of the window soon after it started. Maybe she could offer some later just to annoy her a little further.
"There's a spell for that, too." There was no expectation that the other might know the spell, simply that it existed and Lea wouldn't be shutting up anytime soon unless forced. It wasn't as though she had said much of all really, right? Just choice words and a slight demeaning attitude that the Slytherin had blown out of proportion. She was trying to help, but it clearly wouldn't be taken that way. The last comment though was unexpected, laughter bubbling up at the absurdity of it. "Of course. The intention is to not get hit by spells, if you were aware." She smirked, a new level of determination or spite cementing her goal as she prepared for the next spell headed her way.
Whatever magic flowed through a wizard's body that allowed them to be hit by flying metal projectiles and fall to the ground without too much recovery necessary would help her out now, too. She wasn't particularly aware of what Winona was casting nor did she care, instead slightly ducking and watching the other's wand as she waited. As soon as the purple light flew towards her, Lea was in motion. It seemed almost as though she would be stepping into the spell at first, but it was to provide some boost and momentum as she threw herself into the air. Her back arced, tucking her legs in to spin as she watched the spell fly beneath her before Lea finished her backflip and touched back down to Earth. There was no time to wait though with the moment of surprise and her brain still processing what she had just done. Chestnut wood formed almost a complete circle in the air before she slashed across the air and aimed at Winona. "Obscuro." Her aim was far better this time around, watching as the fabric successfully wrapped across the other's face and temporarily removed her vision. She smiled, brown eyes glancing over to Raizel with a slight bow of her head before the Hufflepuff shook out her legs just to make sure she hadn't potentially caused any injuries to herself with the backflip. Soon enough though, it'd be back to the task and duel at hand.

Rounds were passing one by one, and Winona still was not able to do any damage to Lea in the slightest. It was hard to figure out how the Hufflepuff kept effortlessly dodging everything. Was she cheating? Did she have some agility-enhancing potion? Maybe that silly Gryffindor who was moderating the duel knew what was going on but decided to stay quiet. Several questions flooded the Slytherin's mind. For the moment, she had no answers, but she could not help feeling like the duel was unfair.
"You're such a know-it-all. What a nuisance." she continued with her unnecessary insults before casting her next spell. She didn't have too much practice with the Softening Charm but believed she would be able to cast it without a problem. The purple jet of light left her wand towards Lea, who dodged it by gracefully jumping into the air. "Oh, come on!" she exclaimed, expressing her disappointment. An artistic leap was the last thing she expected to see in a duel. Winona wasn't able to watch the whole backflip, though, because soon enough, she was targeted by a spell that magically blindfolded her, leaving her vision completely black.
What a coincidence, the two times in Hogwarts that Winona was unable to see, Raizel was around for some reason. A real charm of bad luck, that girl is. But for the time being, she was not the center of Winona's attention. "Were you a rabbit in a past life or something? You'll do anything but stay still for ten seconds!" Compared to her previous rude comments towards Lea, associating her with a cute animal probably sounded nicer, even though the grumpy girl had no intentions of kindness.

This was beginning to turn into a one sided duel but Raizel can't exactly say she wasn't expecting it. What can she expect in a duel with an upperclassman. Winona picked the wrong person to have a practice duel with. The Slytherin girl doesn't seem like she had any idea about the gap between her and Lea. It is safe to assume that perhaps she had misjudged the Hufflepuff's year level. Well, dueling someone from a higher year level than you can gain you experience if you take their advice but Winona isn't that keen on listening to what Lea has to say in terms of advice. Words were being exchanged between the two alright, but mostly were remarks trying to get under the skin of the other. Lea looked rather calm but Winona looked like she's about to blow due to her continuous bad luck.
Raizel began tapping her foot as she assessed the situation, looking at both duelists but focusing more on how they are doing. Lea is still looking fresh and full of energy while Winona is already looking like a mess from that tickling spell and now that blindfold. Despite that though, she still has some fire in her.
Speaking of fire…
Green light flashed from the tip of the Hufflepuff's wand, releasing a raging green flame towards the blindfolded Slytherin. A strongly casted Incendio Duo from what Raizel could see, not a spell that she hasn't seen before for it is one of the most used spells in the dueling stage. She had to move away as it went flying towards Winona, feeling the heat from it as it passed by in a flash.
It didn't take that much strength to remove the blindfold and it came off rather quickly but perhaps that raging green flames wasn't exactly what Winona wanted to see after taking off that blindfold. The searing heat as it got closer might've warned her of the flames coming for her though but had no time to react. A direct hit from the flames, leaving a part of her sleeve burning.
Looking at Winona after that attack, she could take a couple more hits and still in the game although if the same thing continues in the next round, she'll be calling off this duel. She doesn't have any healing spells and she'd rather not carry someone to the hospital wing. Assist? Sure, but not carry unless she can Wingardium Leviosa her.

It seemed like these insults were dying out, almost turning to compliments with a bitter tone as Lea glanced in her direction with a confused smile. Perhaps the other was tiring or more focused on her spells in the hope that one would eventually hit the Hufflepuff. If dodging was all it took to get on Winona's bad side, then Lea was more than happy to continue her streak if possible- there would be no going easy for the time being, at least in that regard. It was an unfair duel, but not for the reasons the Slytherin suspected. "That seems more like a compliment than an insult- thanks. If a know-it-all and nuisance is paying attention in class, then those are titles I shall take. You might want to try it too," she offered, a shrug following with a smile before it slowly fell to her typical blank and focused expression.
Her blindfold had worked as intended, properly covering the girl's eyesight and giving Lea a bit of a breather as she no longer needed to twist around and side step spells. Winona's comments got a laugh this time, twirling her wand in her hand as she watched the other start untying the blindfold. "That- you're definitely getting closer to compliments, I appreciate that. I could teach you sometime if you'd like." Whether the teachings would be on compliments or dodging Lea hadn't decided, but she hoped the ambiguity would annoy the other a little. The graceful way Lea used to deal with the edgy comments thrown her way was boring. She very clearly was not going to lose her composure as easily as Winona did. Now, that was a real snoozer. The enthusiasm sparked from anger to continually taunt the Hufflepuff was slowly dying out, not being able to see anything was also not helping the young girl on deciding what to feel. "I bet you weren't doing as well as I did in first year. And my grades are only going to get better, dum-dum." Her grumpy, hot-headed speech was leaving its place for her overachiever nature, feeling challenged with little means to prove the true potential the Slytherin believed she had.
Still holding her wand tightly, Winona struggled for a few seconds to get rid of the blindfold, mumbling in the meantime as she felt disrespected by her opponent. "Eww, who do you think are you to teach-" her sentence was cut by surprise, caused by the sudden feeling of heat coming towards her. The first thing she saw as she lifted her head after taking the blindfold off was the green jolt of light that hit her immediately. She let out a high-pitched cry that made her pain and discomfort quite obvious, but tried her absolute best to keep her stance despite the odds. There was no reason to take this random practice duel so seriously, but she bit her lower lip to try and hide how painful that incendio duo was to endure.
Winona knew very well she most likely would not be able to withstand being targetted by another spell. But even the thought of giving up, especially without even doing any damage to Lea, who was standing in front of her perfectly fine was unbearable. She herself was breathing heavily, had very little energy left in her and just wanted to run to her dorm room and scream into a pillow. With great frustration, she raised her voice once again "Does it look like I'm going to give up just now? Do you really think you can defeat me so easily?!" Her attempts in the duel might have been miserable fails so far, but Winona sure was not about to give up without a fight.

The final round is coming in close and it's clear as day on who will be the one declared as the winner in this practice duel, perhaps something that was expected due to the skill gap.
Not gonna lie, as much as Raizel wasn't a fan of Winona, hearing her pained cry and looking at her messy state did make her feel bad but hey, this is a practice duel. Much like other sports, expect yourself to get hurt in the process. At least she has determination to spare which made the Gryffindor whistle in amusement as soon as she heard Winona's response to Lea's suggestion in ending it quickly. Not like she couldn't understand, she too would keep going until she's out instead of just giving up. That made her grin and had somehow had the urge to cheer on the Slytherin girl but nah.
Embodying that determination was a Flipendo shot out of Winona's wand, her aim was spot on but something had thrown her off and that's when she found herself slowly lifting off from the ground once Lea's spell hit her once again and like always, on point. She had casted the levitation spell on, making Raizel look at Winona's rising figure with amusement and her mouth in the shape of an 'o'. It was a spell that she rarely sees in the dueling stage compared to others so it is quite astonishing to see it being used.
Now with her up in the ground, it'd be impossible to dodge unless you're Ming who somehow maneuvered easily while floating. That, combined with the flames that Winona didn't put out as she put her all on that last Flipendo, Raizel thinks that it is now time to end this. "Alright, I think that's enough." It'd be best to stop it before anyone passes out at this point. "A flawless victory huh, now that's something." She uttered, looking over to Lea and then to Winona. They should probably get her treated. She doesn't want getting into trouble.

T he taunt, while a strange one, was likely true. Lea had refused to believe in magic for the first part of the year, giving into reality after a couple of months which meant she needed to drastically catch up. Her grades had never appreciated her denial, but they improved once she threw herself into her homework and found an enjoyment from learning spells. Did Winona need to know this? No, no she did not. "Oh, I'm sure," She replied sarcastically, hoping it wouldn't give away the truth behind the comment. Brown eyes rolled, glancing away from the Slytherin for good measure.
Something about the next comment hurt more than Lea had expected, seeming to have gone from jovial-ish to frustrated just as the other thought her insults wouldn't work. She might have almost felt bad at she heard the cry under other circumstances, but the Hufflepuff had seen plenty hit by the spell before and had certainly been burned in the past. Perhaps some remorse would have stayed if not for the already elevated emotions Lea felt, instead deciding to cement her choice as the right thing to do. Fire was a practical play to force action and Winona would have to endure it more if she wanted to become a duelist as it was a pretty common spell to cast. "Compliments? That is true. But I've been dodging far more than you- enough to even be spotless. I'm sure I could teach you a few tricks." She shrugged, arching an eyebrow towards the younger student.
The question was a final attempt at kindness. If her opponent truly decided to challenge Lea then she would have been willing to blow the girl out of the water with a Knockback Jinx. But if the Slytherin truly wanted this to last a little longer, then Winona would cast the extinguishing charm on herself and Lea would be a little nicer with a simple cast of "Wingardium Leviosa." A spell coming towards the Hufflepuff too though was a surprise, brown eyes widening as she quickly moved out of the way and her own cast knocked the other's aim off. It was closer than many of the spells before and yet it still wouldn't be enough. Stupid. Why wouldn't Winona try to at least save herself? What was a final jinx going to do? Rai was a reasonable moderator though, ending things before it got too out of hand. Lea nodded lightly, turning her attention back to her opponent for a final, helpful, spell. "Extinguo." It would result in the girl being dropped back to the ground, but at least she was no longer aflame and hopefully wouldn't pass out on the way to the Hospital Wing. Lea did not want to nor had the strength to carry someone there.
"At least the Hospital Wing is only a floor down- I'm sure the architects knew what they were doing when they did that." It was hard to tell whether the comment was sarcastic or truthful, Lea not too sure herself. Her attention turned back to the Slytherin. "Are you able to walk?" She would probably follow her to the Hospital Wing regardless unless there was a true full-blown insistence against it as, as much as Lea had not pulled punches in the duel, she didn't want the girl to get permanently hurt or stay injured for long.

Unfortunately, Winona was going through too much while being aflame and floating to completely comprehend the words said by Lea and Raizel. The last thing she heard before falling down on the ground was the moderator deciding to end the duel. The fall was not too brutal, but she still managed to get her knees a little hurt in the process.
"I told you I wasn't giving up!" the Slytherin protested, but the struggle of trying to get back up on her feet was enough for Winona to figure out it would be impossible for her to continue the duel. "Ouch- ouch..." she groaned, holding one of her knees while trying to lift the other. The extinguo spell coming from the Hufflepuff's wand made it clear that the duel was over. That was a perfect victory on Lea's side, leaving Winona as one of the most pathetic losers this dueling club has seen for a while.
The pain to her ego felt so much worse compared to all the spells she had to endure. The fact that Lea put out the flames, advised her to go to the hospital wing, and is now asking her if she could walk on her own made Winona feel so small and weak. Not even for a split second, she thought the reasoning for those actions could be sincere and considerate. She's pitying me, she's belittling me, she's feeling sorry for me! The same thoughts kept replaying in her head. "I'm just fine! I don't need anyone's help!" she said angrily.
She did manage to get back on her feet but was clearly struggling to walk. As she turned her back to Lea and Raizel, her vision started to get blurry, with tears appearing in her eyes. She took a few steps towards the door but soon felt the need to put her hand on the wall to balance herself. Hoping no one would approach to offer help, she rushed outside.

Such determination can be seen in the Slytherin girl when she insisted on continuing the duel despite her current condition and Raizel won't lie, that was something that she kind of liked about her. Strong-willed but her attitude is something she should start working on.
And there it is, the refusal to be helped, making Raizel sigh before deciding to join the others, touching the back of her neck with a little bit of an annoyed expression on her face. As much as she'd like to leave her alone, she doesn't want to get into trouble by leaving one of the duelists of the duel she just moderated hurt without any proper assistance. Heck, Winona couldn't even walk on her own, signified by the fact that she needed the wall to support herself and then off she went.
"Geeze, what's up with her." Raizel stood there, tapping her foot with crossed arms and going into deep thought before ruffling her hair, an annoyed groan escaping her mouth, glancing at Lea briefly and then back to where Winona ran off to. "Way to give more trouble, argh!" The urge to yell in annoyance was strong yet she held back and instead decided to follow. If she loses the Slytherin girl on her way out, then guess that's it or would it be bad for her to just give up just like that? Perhaps the answer is Yes.
Raizel can't just leave someone alone while they are hurt like that. "Come on, just let us help you get to the Hospital Wing. You could barely walk on your own." She called out to Winona as she followed after her to try and stop her from leaving. If Winona is gonna be stubborn about it despite her condition, then she'll have to be more stubborn in wanting to assist her, even just until she gets to the hospital wing and taken care of. Seriously though, why can't she accept any assistance offered to her?

So regardless of if Winona was 'giving up' or not, stopping now made sense and seemed like an informed decision on Raizel's part. Brown eyes only stared as the Slytherin pulled herself up off the ground, the Hufflepuff standing as an indifferent presence just making sure no further harm befell any of them. At this point she might have been more worried about Raizel getting injured for some sort of revenge although she only offered a sidelong glance towards the Gryffindor before returning her attention to her dueling opponent.
Winona's determination was getting on Lea's nerves, a low grumble escaping at her sad attempt to reject help. She certainly didn't seem fine as she began staggering away, the wall becoming a crucial support that wouldn't last as eventually the Slytherin would have to face the stairs. Lea had half a mind to simply say, 'suit yourself' and leave the girl to struggle, but Rai was here and it would be very telling if only she helped out. "Sore loser." She'd mutter in reply, glancing over to the Gryffindor before sighing with a shake of her head. "That- yep." Lea certainly agreed with that, trailing behind as they all caught up to the slowly advancing Winona. While Raizel would be nicer about her offer of help, Lea's was almost more of a threat as she added, "I will just levitate you to the Hospital Wing instead of being forced to watch you fall down the stairs. Let us help you and then everyone can go on their way and we can be done with this." Hopefully getting everything over with would appeal to Winona's interest in running away from the two if she could deal with their presence for just a little bit longer.
