Spending time in the dueling club had been a habit of a certain Gryffindor ever since the day that she had her first duel. After becoming a part of her house's dueling team, she had been a lot more determined than ever to work on her skills and spellcasting. She longed to step foot into this room once again ever since summer vacation started. Days without her wand by her side had gone by rather slowly for her. While her mother means well considering the impulses that the young girl gets, she still thinks that keeping the wand away from her was too much. Not like she will get the urge to break the rules of underage magic just to cast some spell. As soon as she was back in Hogwarts, Raizel quickly resumed her quest in becoming a better duelist and spellcaster.

The said girl had just finished shooting a couple of spells on a training dummy and at the moment, taking a break. As it is a weekend, Raizel is not wearing her usual school robe but rather, a red and black hooded shirt, black pants and a pair of white sneakers, an outfit that she mostly uses that one can say that it is her favorite outfit. She has her long brown hair tied in a ponytail to avoid getting in the way of her practice earlier.

While resting, the second year had been looking around, watching the other students shoot spells at their respective dummies and some were sparring with their respective partners. She should've asked one of her friends to practice with her but she's afraid of disrupting their plans if they have any today. She'll settle for training dummies for now.

While she was looking around, she spotted a couple of familiar figures. Whether they had been there for quite a while or just got there, that she doesn't know. One of them was this girl with glasses with hazel colored eyes and dark colored hair reaching down just a couple of inches past her shoulders. A frown and unimpressed look formed on her face as an unpleasant memory came back to her. Right, this one is that mean girl back in the corridors. That made her sigh out of disappointment. Maybe that's a sign that she should leave before the Slytherin girl decides to throw spells at her for a dumb reason.

The girl that she's talking to though, was someone that she had teamed up with in a couple of dueling games, Lea Hirsch. That made Raizel pause her thoughts on leaving the dueling club, looking at where the two are. From what she could see, they might be planning on a practice. Now that's some entertainment. Looking around though, it looks like they might be in need of someone to moderate for it.

Raizel grumbled in an annoyed manner as she watched the two, resting her chin on her hand. If she offers her assistance, there is a high chance that Ms. Allergic to Kindness will spout some insults at her again. Then again, as much as she doesn't want to have anything to do with the Slytherin girl anymore or be near her vicinity, watching her duel with Lea might turn out to be interesting. She doesn't know why. She feels like she's forgetting a couple of important things about Lea but she just shrugged it off. It'll probably come back to her if it is that important.

Raizel thought about what she should do for a few minutes, tapping her foot as she did so with a troubled look on her face. Alright, for the sake of entertainment. The Gryffindor stood up, walking over to the two with her hands inside her pocket. "If you'd like some assistance in this practice, I'd be glad to give you a hand." She offered to the two, giving them a glance. She doesn't have any experience in moderating duels so this will be a good practice for her. She waited for them to agree and get into position once they accepted her offer while hoping for things not to go wrong.

Even though she has not participated in a duel before, Winona was not nervous in the slightest. Being booksmart must have been enough to be a good duellist, at least she believed so. Walking into the duelling club for the first time, the room seemed a little chaotic. The Slytherin girl was in no mood to watch others shooting spells at dummies left and right, she decided to ask the first unoccupied person in sigth if they would want to practice together.

Her proposal of practise was accepted by a Hufflepuff girl, who seemed about a year older. One year could not possibly be too much of a difference when it came to skill and power, and Winona believed herself to be quite the competent type. There seemed nothing about the girl, who introduced herself as Lea, to be disliked or looked down upon, which unfortunately happened too often with the other students. Feeling pleased with finding someone worthwhile to duel with, Winona was not even able to think about a moderator before another student offered the two her assistance.

Just a couple seconds of looking at the girl who approached them, Winona was able to recall meeting this Gryffindor who broke her glasses in the corridors, and absolutely hating her guts. Of course, being petty over a little incident from a long time ago would not suit someone as noble as herself, Winona just wished having her as a moderator would not be as frustrating. If everything went well, this could be a great opportunity for the Slytherin to show off, something she deeply enjoyed.

For the time being, Winona felt the need to continue her ladylike act. As she got ready for the duel's start, she turned to her opponent "Thank you for agreeing to practice with me." with a kind smile on her face, Winona continued to speak "I apologize in advance if I hurt you." Hopefully, her polite façade towards others would be enough to show Raizel that she wasn't allergic to kindness, in fact the problem was her behaviour. With a firm grasp on her wand and concentration in her eyes, she waited for the duel to start with excitement.

Lea was still attempting to catch up after her third year ran away from her. The girl found herself in the dueling room often as a way of practice and preparation when classes had not yet started up to their full extent. The hope was that she'd prove herself capable enough to rejoin the Hufflepuff dueling team, but there were still a few things that the now fourth year needed to work on- hence her frequent visits. The current intention had been to simply practice against the targets and ask people later for a match, but the opportunity to duel came up earlier than anticipated as Lea took a break to review some spells in her textbook.

It was a bit odd. The pale and dark-haired girl, Winona she later learned, seemed rather young- perhaps a first year?- and yet there was a level of confidence or assuredness that intrigued Lea. She couldn't quite place the girl yet, but a duel offered the perfect opportunity to test the skill and personality of this stranger while giving Lea a chance to practice against another person. Any hesitancy she might have had against younger years had already been tossed out of the window, the Hufflepuff agreeing to the duel with the shadow of a smile. The thought that the Slytherin might have underestimated Lea and her year never crossed her mind, only assuming that Winona overestimated her own skills or wanted a challenging practice.

Finding a moderator was easy enough when someone wanders up and offers. Her feelings toward Raizel were neutral, an acquaintance with an active interest in dueling, which made the Gryffindor a good candidate for an unbiased moderator in her mind. Not that Lea had ever had trouble with biased referees in the past, but it soothed some concerns the girl might have. "That'd be great, thanks." She nodded, turning towards Winona with a slight tilt of her head to make sure that the other agreed as well. It didn't seem as though there were any objections so Lea prepped for the start, stretching her arms a bit as she turned to face the Slytherin. "Thank you for the offer," her head bowed slightly, "and injury is just a part of the sport, there's no need to apologize." It seemed strange to feel sorry about hurting someone when the whole objective was knocking the other out, wondering just how much experience the other had to make such a comment. Or perhaps she simply didn't like injuring others but appreciated the practice? Regardless, it only seemed to pique Lea's curiosity further as brown eyes watched the other, wondering how well she might fair. Time would tell, she supposed.

Seems like no trouble had risen when she offered to be their moderator which is quite a relief. The Slytherin girl seems to be behaving well considering how she was when they first met. Both Lea and… who was it again? She didn’t get her name yet. She turned her head towards the Slytherin girl then. “What’s your name again?” She asked the Slytherin girl with a tilt of her head before the two duelists got into position, standing on the opposite side of each other. Raizel gave them one last glance to make sure that they were prepared for the duel.

“Alright! Let’s get this practice duel started.” Raizel grinned. She’s not even participating in this duel yet she could already feel the excitement of what will transpire before her. What spells will she see these two will use? Who will rise up as the victor? “And.. begin!”

That was the cue and Raizel had to take a few steps back from where she was standing to avoid getting caught up in the crossfire as both Lea and Winona decided to open up by blasting the other with their respective spells. A flash of silver erupted from Lea’s wand, a spell that Raizel hasn't seen a lot but is quite familiar with as that spell was just taught to them. A grin appeared on her face as the Tickling Charm found its mark, hitting Winona right on her stomach, a tickling sensation would slowly be creeping up to the Slytherin and sending her into a laughing fit, making it harder for her to focus and aim.

Just before that spell took hold of Winona though, a brilliantly casted Fire-making charm left her wand. The jet of flame went tearing through the air, closing in on the older Hufflepuff student. Lea, however, seems prepared for any incoming spells from her opponent, easily reading the spell’s trajectory and moving out of the spell's way, the flame dissipating into nothing as soon as it passed. That’s a bummer. She will admit though, that Incendio was great. Sadly, it missed.

Now that was an interesting round and quite entertaining. The Gryffindor silently stood there, clearly enjoying the outcome of the first round.

T he moments before 'begin!' left enough time for quick contemplation as the girl stilled herself. The many times she had dueled before taught her how to easily switch from gentle curiosity to focus, brown eyes staring straight ahead at the Slytherin as past strategies fought for their chance at the next spell she'd cast. With each year, the arsenal and opportunities grew, new spells Lea could test to prove both her worth and the opponent's. Blindfolding to give the advantage for a round, spells that distracted long enough for another attack, or perhaps even spells that boosted Lea's own skills.

But no. This was a practice duel. Against an opponent who clearly seemed younger than her. Perhaps she could... relax, play around a bit, see how well the other would take it. The fear of failure still lingered but- again, this was practice. The chance to cast some of those spells Lea had forgotten. She would start simple for now, chestnut wand swishing through the air in the shape of a feather as the silver light flashed and barreled towards the Slytherin. "Rictusempra." It wasn't the most accurate aim, her thoughts clouded her focus, but it was enough to get a hit and hear the giggling start just as Winona's spell flew towards Lea. Fire. Certainly something to be avoided, Lea wasted no time putting more distance between herself and the Incendio cast as she sidestepped away. The flames had no chance to touch her, Lea glancing back just to be sure as her mouth quirked into a sliver of a smile.

"A good choice," she acknowledged, "especially if it catches aflame. I'm guessing you'll learn Incendio Duo soon enough then? Or have you been working ahead?" Technically, she now realized, it would be quite challenging for a first year to duel this early in the year. Second year seemed more likely, but she hoped her question could clarify before the Hufflepuff truly underestimated her duel partner. That would be rather embarrassing, even if likely entertaining. And with that, Lea fell silent once more as she hopped from foot to foot slightly in preparation for whatever Winona might do next.

The moment Raizel announced the start of the duel, Winona casted her first spell right away without thinking too much about it. She still didn't know a wide range of spells that could be useful in the moment. Some flames and smoke could have been nice to start with, she thought. "Incendio~" she spoke clearly and performed the wand movement.

Despite being perfectly confident in her skills while casting her first spell for the duel, the Slytherin was not even able to see if the bright light coming from the tip of her wand made its way to her opponent. Unfortunately, in that very instance Winona was hit with the tickling charm. No matter how hard she tried, she could not stop her laughter. Contrary to the fit of giggles she was unable to suppress sounding like a cute little girl having fun, she was feeling horribly uncomfortable in that situation.

With one hand tightly holding her wand, and the other placed on her stomach to ease the ache, she observed the Hufflepuff girl standing with no sign of any flames. That was a bummer, now she felt dumb laughing after missing her shot. "Couldn't you use-" her speech was mercilessly interrupted with a couple of giggles "...just- any other spell??" she soon noticed how out of breath she sounded and gave up on trying to speak all together.

Noticing how the effects of the charm she was targeted by did not seem to go away as soon as she hoped, Winona started to feel anxious and hoped it would not affect the future rounds too much.

Winona’s giggling fit continues into the next round but judging by how strong that spell was when it was casted, Raizel can safely assume that the effect would be ending soon. Still, it was quite a sight to see the Slytherin girl laughing uncontrollably due to the tickling charm that Lea had casted. Even though she was under the said spell, Winona still managed to cast a Knockback Jinx through it all which was impressive in a way. Then again, she was too predictable for the older student who had managed to move out of its way while countering with her own spell. Guess that’s what you can expect from someone who probably has years of experience in dueling.

That thought made Raizel pause as she thought more about it. Right, Lea has a lot more experience compared to Winona. She is a lot older than them after all.

Oh… Oh… Guess that’s the important detail that she was forgetting. A 4th year against a 2nd year. Surely things will be okay so she just shrugged that off for now. Winona probably knows what she’s getting into since it was her who asked Lea for this practice.

A flash of scarlet light from the other duelist made Raizel turn her head towards the Hufflepuff, a disarming charm quickly leaving her wand as she dodged the Knockback Jinx zooming in on her. Pulling this off would’ve been brilliant, dodging and then countering. Unfortunately though, that didn’t happen. Either Lea slipped during her dodging or completely miscalculated her Disarming Charm’s trajectory as it didn’t go for Winona, nor her luckily, but rather, it went for a nearby group of students that were practicing their spell casting. “Ooooh, dang.” Raizel uttered when she looked over to where the spell went.

Her notes were not taken, which annoyed Lea more than she had expected. Sure, the other was stuck giggling at everything but that simply felt like an excuse, especially with the question that followed. She pursed her lips, eyes rolling slightly before her attention returned back to the other student. "I certainly could," she offered lightly, voice discordant with her impassive stare, "but I didn't." And that was all, her focus shifted onto the next task. Except not quite. While the Hufflepuff managed to glide across the dueling stage unfazed by any spell headed her way, even such as dangerous as Flipendo against her light build, the same could not be said for her spells.

Perhaps she was taking this a little too un-seriously or had simply been distracting with the dodging part that she had forgotten to think about aiming. Her wand slashed down with its little curls at the end, easily declaring "Expelliarmus." But where Winona was and where her wand was aimed couldn't be further apart, very aware that the other could simply stand still and be fine. How intimidating. Powerful it could have been, but the bystanders weren't the ones she was interested in dueling for the time being. Lea grimaced, deciding that a little more focus would likely be necessary if she didn't want to embarrass herself further. Still, a little fun before then. "See? Different spell." A slight smile spread. "I assure you that a new spell can be cast each time if that is a cause for concern for you." She had to admit that it sounded like a fun challenge, debating taking it on regardless of what the Slytherin said. Her arsenal of spells, while not as varied as the fourth year wished, could likely last a whole duel if they managed to hit. With that, Lea paused, preparing for the next spell to potentially fly her way and determining her own in retaliation.

Despite casting a knockback jinx perfectly fine, Winona once again failed to hit her opponent. It was the second time she had been unsuccessful, and her frustration now became more apparent on her face as the annoying giggles died down. The Slytherin pouted rather childishly, dropping the ladylike act she had put on at the start of the duel. Fortunately, this time she wasn't hit either. It would have been awful to be left unarmed so early.

Her expression of annoyance about the effects of the tickling charm was met with Lea's over-explaining. She's acting like I'm dumb, how annoying! the girl thought. "Oh, shut up! Of course, I know that!" she raised her previously calm voice as she proceeded to complain.

With a couple of tiny coughs, Winona cleared her throat, which had been irritated from laughing so much, something she was not used to in the slightest. She then continued to speak, wishing to provoke the Hufflepuff with lowly sarcasm, "Is this how badgers duel? Simply dodging everything like you're doing ballet?" Even though she was very angry at herself for not performing well so far, Winona did her best to look unfazed as she readied her stance for the next round.

Winona looked like she was about to crumble with the duel not going exactly in her favor. That sweet, well-behaved and ladylike facade that the Slytherin girl had been showing them was completely gone, replaced by a childish and ill-tempered child, a sight that's certainly not new to Raizel. She was grinning ear to ear as the girl was slowly showing her true colors, signified by the way that she raised her voice towards Lea who, probably, had annoyed her.

Much like when she had met her before, Winona, this girl seems like the type who would snap at anything that she finds annoying. Well, it's fun watching her lose her cool in this duel though, quite entertaining if someone asked the Gryffindor girl. It is not like her to take joy in someone's suffering, if you call this suffering anyway, but guess her mischievous side had won this time and she doesn't mind it one bit. As much as she'd like to make a comment though, she kept quiet but that smile never left her face as she continued to watch over this duel.

Before she knew it, the next round had started and spells were fired. Winona barely managed to get her spell out. Compared to her previous performance, this was probably the worst one. Still, that flash of purple from the tip of her wand was enough to tell that at least the spell had been casted, a Softening Charm nonetheless. From what she knows about that spell, it could've put Winona in a slight advantage if it hits but no.

Oh no, lady luck isn't smiling.

The next scene to unfold had left even Raizel speechless. Winona's aim wasn't off but rather, Lea was too nimble. Two times she had dodged the attacks coming for her, flawlessly at that and this round is like a repeat of the others. The Slytherin's remark about the Badger's dueling style must've triggered something leading to this scene. An incoming projectile avoided with a magnificent and well executed backflip from the older student, the spell simply passing just below and hitting nothing but air. (Feel free to put more details into your post Lea, enjoy your 3rd nat20 XD). That smile on Gryffindor's face never fading due to this brilliant sight. To make things better, Lea shot her spell as soon as she landed on her feet, making a quick gesture with her wand, releasing a Blindfolding Spell.

For the Slytherin girl, everything would turn black as she found her head wrapped with a blindfold, completely covering her eyes. It'll be harder for her to aim and dodge any incoming attack now, putting her at a disadvantage, huge disadvantage unless the blindfold was removed. "Now this is entertainment." Raizel uttered with a grin plastered on her face. It is quite impressive that Winona was still going at it, not even thinking about forfeiting. She has determination, she'll give her that.

Duel Information
Reducio
1 | You have one week from my moderation post to make your RP post and owl me your actions. As soon as both actions and posts are in, I can immediately start the moderation post as well. I won't be strict about this so just tell me when you want an extension in case you get busy. Since this is an unofficial duel, your minimum word count is 200 words (site rules applies of course). Dueling rules are here.

2 | Once someone reached 10% or below of their HP, the duel is over. No, Raizel doesn't know ANY healing spells so she won't be able to care for your injuries. She can, however, send you to the hospital wing and that's what she'll do.

3 | This is my first time moderating a duel so if you spot any errors, please inform me. I want to learn how to do this properly after all.

4 | I've took notes of your stats so any changes won't be used in this duel. Same goes to abilities and spells.

5 | Have fun blasting each other with spells!
