Agata watched as quaffle after quaffle was scored, and point after point was given to the Japanese team. Where was Tigist? That was his name yes? Agata couldn't quite remember everyone's name, but surely, she thought sourly as she sat on her broom waiting for someone to fall, the keeper would remember his own job and block the damn quaffle. Obviously it didn't happen, and Agata made a note of it. He better get himself in the game going forward.

Up high on her broom with no quaffle to grab, she could see the rest of the match perfectly well. She smirked as she watched the Beater Mabu? Makabu? Mkhaku, that was it, try and blatch the other team. But only after they had tried to get him first. Sadly everyone was like a jungle cat, quick and sharp on their reflexes and no one went down.

Flying around, Agata wished she had her potions with her. Her hands tched to grab a vial and swing it at the opposing team. Unfortunately for her, and fortunately for the other team, she'd chosen quidditch instead of broom racing. She'd wanted to give both sports a go, so here she was, waiting, just waiting.

Tigist had a slow start in this gamed. It was eating him up inside to leave a bad impression during this first match. The travel and the confusion had really hit him hard. That's not how a championship Quidditch player should react. If his dreams came true, he'd be all over the globe playing matches, so he'd better get used to it soon. The Portkey and reorientation were just going to be part of life, most likely. He let the game slip by him and he could feel the shame of not being his best self as keeper. That had to change.

"Ah. My bad. Let us strike back!" He muttered to his team, the English language being a bit weaker than he'd like in a mix of players who also likely shared few languages.

He pulled up on his broom, still a fairly cheap model, as his parents were still less than enthusiastic about Tig aiming for a career in sports. They had the funds, but not the desire. Years of being told to be a healer or to do good in the world, and all the young boy ever wanted was to play Quidditch. They were bad at hiding their disappointment. Maybe winning some games and getting recognition would show them he could do good with his spotlight. Eventually.

The quidditch match started both with more action and less. Some attempts to hit Miharu-chii going wildly off-the-mark and an attempt to blatch Sara. This Chaser of theirs was certainly a lot more bold than he would have given them credit for.

And, rightfully, the Chaser was called out on a foul.

"Ha, nice try you lot. But you're gonna have to get up QUITE early in the morning to catch us unprepared!" A loud taunt at the offensive players of their opposition. It was the one bright side to the completely one-sided event that was the uncontested Quaffle play. "Good play, everyone. We just gotta keep up the pressure, and this game will be a cinch! Come on, Botan-kun. Sara-senpai. let'sup the tempo this next round!"

Aryaan noticed a glint of gold in the air, and carefully floated towards it. It would not do to draw attention to his plan; and his careful flight path placing him next to Akira.

"You alright broski?" Aryaan called out lightly to the duellist. "You don't have to push yourself too hard if you're at your limit."

He lowered his voice a fraction. "Winning is all well and good, but its no use if you can't have any fun doing it, ya know?"

And with that, the game was on.

The scrimmages were hardly fair, and he was quick to identify the various threats on the field; insightfully watching for the unspoken cues and body-language between players; seeing to whom their eyes drifted for leadership and direction; who they avoided and who they targeted. It worked out like a pretty little map, seared into his knowing; as instinctive as breathing and blinking.

Mkahku had heard of few of the players opposite, and even then he’d met even fewer. That which he knew, of those he knew of, was mere locker room grumbles. What made a player was how they handled the pressure when it came to it; how they acted or reacted to the ebb and flow of the game. All he needed to do was play his part well, for he had faith that his team would do the same. Mkhaku wasn’t a fan of micromanaging players, he preferred it when they were all in sync without prompting; though of course that took work and time. Glimpses of that dream-like teamwork was seen in the opposing side, but he knew his own team would step up to the plate; he just had to make it easier for them to do so.

Boldly, he took to marking the biggest and baddest looking threat on their side, prepared to commit an offence if it meant his team could get their head in the game. - A slim failure, but a failure all the same; though one that left him grinning at his opponents, his spirits unquelled.

Off he went for his penalty lap, such a pretty landscape. He had to race around the track, away for the next scrimmages and too far to call any strategy back to his team; though he managed to send a look back to watch them score over, and over, again…

And the game quickly began to pick up! The chasers began to zoom around, grabbing scrambling for the quaffle. Shamsi seemed to finally have gotten involved with the game, diving forwards and snatching up the quaffle several times, and when it wasn't him it would be his teammate Akira, who'd pass it to him to score. Pax did feel a little bad for Alan, their Gryffindor senior, who'd been bested each time, but that's how the game went after all. Though Shamsi seemed to be skilled at snatching up the quaffle, his scoring skills were a little less strong against the Uagadou keeper.

Uagadou seemed to be getting a little more desparate with their choices, though Pax couldn't really blame them. Zophyr would attempt to lock brooms and blurt Miharu, but after a short bout of wrestling between the two, Miharu would emerge barely triumphant and escape without any side effects. Kissa would also attempt to cheat, following the actions of the chaser in the last round, trying to blatch Shamsi. But he'd duck out of the way in time with Quaffle in hand, leaving both of them on a penalty.

"Kissa! Zophyr! Both of you, on a penalty lap too!"

Sara would play more traditionally and actually launch a bludger in the direction of Namusobiya, but it would miss its mark.

Roleplaying as Akira Shimizu from Mahoutokoro
He acknowledged the cheers of his teammates, Miura-san (@Charlie Jacobsen) and Midorimori-senpai (@Jack Burnett) with a brief smirk and nod. Perhaps he wasn't doing as badly as he had feared, for someone new to quidditch.

However, that was when he nearly crashed into Okazaki-san before quickly apologizing. "your fine. You did great with those scores!" the younger boy responded easily, and Akira smiled inwardly to himself. These underclassmen were such good sports, which is something he almost wished he could've said about himself. "Thank you," he said in Japanese. "Keep up the good work," he responded. He knew that being on save took a lot of tiring situational awareness, but Okazaki seemed steadily alert to his task, considering how well he avoided the near collision.

However, all the movement in the skies at such great heights was getting to our duelist, who was used to have his feet planted on the piste when he wasn't thrown back by spells. Even being levitated in the air was anxiety-inducing for him: the imbalance, the vulnerability...

At that moment, Shamsi floated up next to him. For once, Akira didn't take his teammate's understanding words as a challenge. But, winning was no use if you're not having fun? The Japanese boy turned those unfamiliar words over in his mind, hardly knowing how to respond for a moment. However, his mind was distracted from responding when another wave of nausea overcame him. He dabbed his knuckles to his lips to stifle it, then took several deep breaths. "Got it," he managed to say, giving Shamsi the briefest look of acceptance and thanks before swerving off to search for the quaffle.

He spotted it and leapt, slinging an arm over the leather ball before feeling someone else also latch onto his prize. However, his strength was no match for the monstrous grip of the other player. When he let go, he saw the player soar towards the opposing goal, and recognized the uniform. Somehow, instead of yelling at his teammate, he let out a soft chuckle in amusement for once in his life. He watched in appreciation as his skilled teammate grabbed the next two. Soon, he mustered the strength and resolve to overcome his nausea to dive for the last two, passing them to his teammate each time. "Go get 'em," he muttered as he passed the ball to the talent of his team. For now, he would resolve to let his friend shine. Maybe, just maybe, this was what Shamsi meant about 'fun'.

A lot was happening. Botan found himself trying to complete a move that had been taught to him a few hours prior, that involved one beater and a seeker. Botan barely knew what he was doing, but he just followed his seekers lead to complete the move. Botan shot, and watched it travel through the air. He watched it travel through the air and then let out a light groan when it missed his target. “Darn. I was so close.” He said to himself as he gripped his bat tighter. He would hit the blunger next time. He would.

On another part of the pitch, the Uagadou team was making some interesting choices. Two of their players had been sentenced to a penalty lap, where the players were forced to sit out as a sort of ‘punishment’ for their actions, only if they were trying to cheat. Anyway, Botan was secretly happy that two of the other teams players were on a penalty lap. It gave his team an advantage.

Botan refocused and got ready to play better than he already was. His team needed him, and he needed them. Even though he probably was one of the worst players, he still would try his best.

Akira lifted his hand into the air.

Tone was sure he was about to wave at him, celebrating his success, but then he put his hand down again.

The redhead tilted his head to the side and his brow creased a little upon seeing this strange reaction. It was almost as if... there was something wrong... but there wasn't, right? Tone couldn't help but wonder at this but he was distracted by Maksim waking up to shout at the players with a heavy accent. What was it? Ah, Russian. The redhead was reminded of Valentine. He couldn't help but watch him for a few seconds as the boy started to break branches with his hands. Well, at least Maksim was letting off steam in a healthy way!!!!

He glanced over at the others gathered on the benches. Some were startled by the other boy's outburst, while others didn't seem to be phased at all. Tone glanced up just in time to see Miharu notice the snitch, judging from the way she suddenly zoomed forward to try and catch the item. Interestingly enough, Tone noted that Yan and Akira seemed to be doing fairly well together. They weren't even fighting up there, which was a good thing to see between them. Maybe this would bring them closer together and be a good thing in the long run.

Mahoutokoro made some more points.

Akira and Yan's teamwork showed off and made Tone smile down on the benches. They really did well.

Hopefully, this could continue during official matches too. Two Ugadou players attempted to cheat and were caught and given penalty laps to do. The moderator took this chance to announce a replacement for team Ugadou. Fang Hui-Ying. A girl Tone knew a little. He hadn't been able to get to know her that well yet but there was always time for this to happen! "Good luck!" Tone told her, even though wishing her luck was not good for his own team. But that was unavoidable with someone like him, who was friends with everyone.

Or at least was trying to become friends with everyone. He'd make it one day, that was for certain.

Dear Merlin Ying thought feeling frustration taking control of her. It seemed that whatever her team was doing was having a continual cascade of bad luck and consequences. How was possible that they were grabbing all quaffles and having every chance to attempt to make goal? At least her team's keeper was giving his best this time, Ying was impressed by his efforts, but sadly it wasn't enough to prevent the Mahoutokoro students to score more points.

At some point, it started to look that things were turning very difficult to change the tide...but Ying wouldn't give up on her faith on her teammates! No, this would change! Their luck would change! And that's when see saw Kissa and Zophyr being caught cheating..."Can not believe this!" Ying muttered feeling her pride a little hurt, not because they were cheating, but because Pax had apparently a keen eye to people cheating! By consequence they would be playing next round with less two players...was like a curse! She was starting to believe Mahoutokoro's students were drinking Felix Felicis at breakfast or something!

To add to all of it, Namusobiya seemed to start to feel sick and had to abandoned the game, a moment after she had found the snitch! Now that was the cumulus! When the beautiful girl from Uagadou flew to the ground and walked towards her, Ying felt concerned and her first instinct was to try to help Namusobiya feeling better, "Please have some water and stay away from the sun okay? Ask for help if you need!" She stated, then she paid max attention to the other girl's instructions. "Thank you, I'll make my best!" She assured with an assertive nod, grabbing her broom and getting ready to fly. But before heading to the game, she turned to Hiro, he had wished her good luck, even if he was from the opposite team. Ying felt her smile grow into a grin, he was indeed someone with a pure heart. "Thank you!" was her reply before heading up to the sky and getting ready to catch that little golden ball! Why couldn't it just be a big red ball and instead be a very sun light looking tiny, tiny ball was beyond her common sense!

Things were getting worse with each round, and although he was trying not to get too mad, Zophyr gripped his broom harder than usual. He felt like everything was going against him. Even the sun felt too hot and the breeze was too stagnant. He knew he was probably just imagining it, but his anger was starting to get to him.
'Kay, deep breaths, he thought to himself, doing a small circle in the air before descending. His team was not doing well, and he was no exception. Yes, he'd attempted to cheat and been caught, and that wasn't even the worst part. His cheating had basically been for nothing. And now he had to do a penalty lap.

He didn't regret anything, though it did annoy him immensely. He wasn't really one to regret things. Even cheating. If it was necessary, he'd do it. Though it seemed it had been useless. Just have to get better now. He would do his penalty lap, and then things would get back on track. They would have to.
He glanced down at the ground. It seemed Namusobiya, a fellow Uagadou student, wasn't feeling so grand, and was being replaced by the second string seeker. Zophyr cursed through his teeth. He hoped she was okay, and also that her leaving wouldn't affect the game too much. They were already too far behind. Zophyr gave one last "good luck" glance at both his teammates (the one that was leaving and the one that was joining), and then the game continued.
