Summer Camp--DIY Fair
IC DATE: July 4th-6th
Morning: 8 o'clock-11 o'clock
Afternoon: 2 o'clock to 5 o'clock
Hello and welcome to the DIY Activity. DIY, short for Do It Yourself, is an opportunity for you to make things yourself. Perhaps a doll of a unicorn, perhaps a metal hippogriff, or possibly an origami pygmy puff, perhaps a clay bowl to put your cat's food inside.
When you come to a corner of the campground, you will find four well decorated tents.
Tent 1
Doll Making. When you enter this cute pink tent, you will find yourself located in a large round room. Yes, the inside is way larger than what it looks like from the outside. Six wooden desks are put in a circle, each covered with a piece of pink table cloth. In the middle of the six desks, is another round desk, it is piled with bags of colourful things. They turns out, to be bags of materials to make dolls.
Here, you can make dolls of different kinds. You will be given a list of what you can make.

Origami. The magic of origami can be easily seen by anyone. With just a piece of origami paper, there are so much for you to make. With your hands, it can turn into anything you want.
Coming in this sunny yellow tent, you will find ten desks forming a circle in the round room. On the eleventh desk in the middle, colourful origami paper are well-stacked, waiting for someone to use.
Origami is magical, so magical that it too, can turn into any magical creature you want.Pick a nice time and see if you can experience one or two!Tent 3
Pottery. This is perhaps the most fun of all. Playing with clay and making a 3 dimension object just like real. You can make anything you want, as it is a free kind of art. From magical creatures to bowls or beds for your pet, you can color them as well. Though cooking needs a month. It will be sent to you afterwards.
In the cozy fruit green tent. Three special machines are set. They're special round desks htat can spin, which is useful when making pottery. On the desk in the middle, lays some special paint, clay and tools and carve and make the object you want.
This flexible kind of art can fulfill any goal of you.
OOC Rules1. Only six people are allowed in the doll-making tent at the same time. Only five people are allowed in the metal craft-making tent at the same time. Only ten people are allowed in the origami tent at the same time. Only three people are allowed in the origami tent at the same time. Sign up in the sign up thread to be put in the waitlist. An owl will be sent to you when there is a vacancy for you. Current students in the tent will be shown below.
2. One people is allowed to join an activity more than once or join more than one activity. But one can only apply to be on the waitlist again when one's latest roleplay is fully finished.
3. If it's one's turn but one failed to post once within 10 days(7/13 edit) than the last post, one will be removed and the next one on the waitlist gets to join the thread. In this instance, permission is automatically granted for the mods to say you wants to leave due to you have something else to do/ other reasonable reasons. A reminder owl will receive on the 5th day and 9th day
4. One can claim to own the thing once the roleplay is finished. There is one exception, pottery. It is sent to be cooked and will come back with an owl one month later. Only by then can you claim you own the object.
5. It is allowed to claim minor injury (small cuts, burns) etc. but it is not allowed to claim any major injury or any injury caused becuse of the carelessness of the moderators.
6. Moderation posts will come at least once a week. In the post, moderators will teach you and help you with crafts.
7. At least 3 roleplay are to be done with the moderator before the process is finished. Actions between visitors does not count. It may vary according to one's requirement.
8. One is allowed to leave the thread in the middle, but an exit thread with a proper reason is needed.
9. Tags [doll-making] [metal craft-making] [origami] and [pottery] are required at the top of the roleplay post.
10. Please be clear if you want to make a Gnome for the Gnome Race
11. You should not rp making things or even finishing your thing before the moderation post comes. Please post according to the post suggestions
12. (7.20 edit) Pottery makers will be asked to make one more 200 word reply in a separate thread in the Owlery. Cassie will do a mass thread starter rping sending you the pottery ICly in September. OOCly it will be made in September. Once you do the reply, you will be allowed to rp with it.
13. (7.26 edit) from now on, every mod post will only contain interactions in one tent, the sequence is Potteyr-DM-Origami

Summer Camp--DIY Fair
[pottery]Role-playing as Lorelai Diniz ✿ Castelobruxo ✿ Second year
She was wearing overalls, because of the weather. The girl had signed up for the DIY fair,which seemed fun. Lorelai wanted to try pottery. She had never made a vase before, which was something she had never made.
The girl arrived at the cozy fruit green tent. It seemed rather nice. She sat down in one of the workstations, and started making her vase. Lorelai managed to start making the vase, and it looked rather nice, except for now. Her overalls were probably getting a bit dirty, she made a mistake in wearing a white t-shirt. Lorelai looked down, she had a stain on her shirt, just a little one. The girl didn't care.
She was concentrated now, and if someone came in, she probably wouldn't notice them come in, as she was making her vase, which she would paint white and blue after she finished carefully sculpting the vase. Lorelai continued making the vase, which wasn't near to ready, she only had a base, so far.

Mellani had decided to stay at Hogwarts for the summer camp this summer, more out of curiosity for what it would include than anything else. She loved art, and when she saw the DIY fair activity posters, it did not take her long to sign up. She wanted to try something new and hence she chose to go with pottery. Doll-making just did not seem fun enough, and a look inside the tent told Mellani that she absolutely did not want to go in there in all that pink.
As for origami, it was nothing new, and Mellani had done origami before. What interested her was pottery. She could literally make anything out of clay. Looking at Lavvy who was in her hands, Mellani smiled. She would love to make Lavvy a bed. A proper one that she could use even at home.
Mellani entered the tent, and noticed someone already there. By the looks of her, Mellani hadn't seen the girl before, which probably meant that she was from another school, something that made Mellani even more curious. She seemed to be concentrating on her work very hard, and Mellani decided not to disturb her. Mellani knew that pottery was hard, and it required concentration. It would be rude to break this concentration.
Mellani liked the colour of the tent. It wasn't Slytherin green, but it was a good shade of green nevertheless. She sat down and first made a sketch of what exactly she wanted to do.

Akina walked into the origami tent, which fully reflected the day's mood, since it was a vibrant, bright yellow. She already knew what she was going to make. Origami was really fun, and it required precision, peace, and patience. The three P's, as she liked to call it. Precision, peace, patience. Precision, peace, patience, her mind chanted as she glanced at the materials she was going to use, which were small stacks of black and gold paper. She knew she probably didn't need that much, but better more than less.
She was going to make a dragon. A dragon. THE BEST DRAGON. EVER. She already had a complete picture of how it would look like. The body was going to be made out of black origami paper, and the spikes would be golden. Also, it would be the length of a pencil. Akina hadn't decided how thick it would be, but she would just roll with it.
Akina was looking around when suddenly a voice interrupted her thoughts, causing her to look around. "Oh, hey Cassie. I'm making a dragon," Akina responded. Akina picked out her materials and waited a bit more.

Cassie is very excited to start teaching in the DIY fair, short for Do It Yourself. She cannot wait to see what wonderful objects the students will make. She arrives early in the morning, and she stands outside the three tents, waiting for someone to come.
She waits, and the first girl seems to come, she enters the fruit green pottery tent, and Cassie follows. She says to the girl, waving. 'Hello Nice to see you here! Welcome to the DIY Fair, I will be teaching you to make pottery here! I am Cassie, and you are.. What do you want to make? Ah, a vase. Alright, please sit down at a desk. I will fetch you some clay.' Cassie goes to pull off a large chunk of clay and lays it on the spinning table. 'Alright, very cute, Now, put your hands around the clay, and tap your feet on the board, it will make the desk spinning. And as it spins, the clay will be taller and rounder. Good, alright, this is enough, now stick your finger in the middle of the clay, and start spinning, good, this should make the inner part. Now, have your hands around the vase, and yes, good, you can make the circle smaller by holding tighter. Now, I will leave it to you to make the shape you want.'
Just then, someone else enters, Cassie looks up, it is another Slytherin girl, she seems to meet somewhere, but cannot remember her name. 'Hello, welcome to the DIY fair, this is Cassie, I will teach you how to make pottery. And you are... alright, Mellani, sit down please, what do you want to make?' The girl starts sketching. 'Alright Mellani, please take your time, I will return soon to teach you.'
She takes a breath and says, 'Girls, I will be going to other tents to teach, take your time and do not do mishcief. I will be back soon!'
Cassie leaves the tent and walks around, when entering the origami tent, she realizes that another girl is inside. 'Hello, Akina!' yes, this is a friend of hers, 'Welcome to the DIY Fair, what are you making today? Here are your things, please pick out what you need, we will start in a minute.

There were three things she could choose from - doll-making, pottery, and origami. She had no real use for any of them, but she thought doll-making sounded fun. She already knew how to do pottery decently well, and she didn't feel like doing origami, so she headed over to the pink tent.
No one was there yet, but that didn't deter Zophyr. It seemed she had to make a magic animal, and there was a list to choose from. She didn't hesitate for a second, and chose a griffin - one of her favorite animals, after the masai lion. They were just so majestic and confident and beautiful. She hoped she could do them justice here.
Gathering the materials she would need, she sat down at a table, waiting for one of the helpers to teach her. That was what it had said, anyway. She was sure she would probably be able to figure it out, but she didn't really know how to start, and besides, griffins were pretty complicated. So she waited, sketching a griffin on a random piece of paper to pass the time.

She followed Cassie's instructions, and carefully sculpted her vase, and it was looking in a good shape. The girl continued working with her clay, which was getting all over her hands, but, that was fine, since she was there to have fun, and get her clothes dirty in the process.
The girl also noticed when another girl came in. She started making whatever she wanted to do. When Cassie left, Lorelai said, while she was working with the clay, "Hi! I'm Lorelai. From Castelobruxo, what school are you from?" if she decided to respond, it was her choice, but Lorelai was here for not just fun, and perhaps making new friends.
This girl wasn't in her cabin, Phoenix, which left her even more curious to know who she was. And maybe they could become friends? Lorelai hoped to gain some friends at the Summer Camp, and sent owls to them, once the Summer was over, that would be fun.
She looked at the girl, she had never seen her before, so she thought she probably was from another school, maybe Hogwarts or Ilvermorny, since she looked English, or American.

Summer Camp--DIY Fair
Cassie looks at the girl, Akina, thinking quickly. 'A dragon, cute! It is not common for cute girls like you to love dragons. So, I can see you have your things neat. Let's get started! First, let's take a look at this picture you have got here. As you can see, the dragon can be divided into four parts, right? The head, the body, the tail and the spikes. Let's start with the head of the dragon, take out a piece of black paper, yes, tear it in half. Good, fold it and then tear it. We will only use one half for the head. Now, fold it this way, yes, and this way, very well, and finally, use your finger to make the paper become more of a 3D stuff. Very well! I will be leaving you here to make the spikes, just use the yellow paper and fold triangles, slim ones. I will be just around, in another tent. I will be back in a few minutes. Have fun folding!'
Cassie makes sure Akina gets what she is talking about and walks out the tent. She walks into the doll-making tent, as she has never entered it this morning. She sees a girl sitting inside, sketching what she is making. She walks to her, and says, 'Hello! Welcome to the DIY Fair, I am Cassie, and I will be teaching you how to make a doll today. Let's take a look at what you've got. A griffin, very cute. Wait a minute, dear.' Cassie walks to the table in the middle and starts her searching. She takes out a bag of materials, labeled 'Griffin'. She puts it on the girl's table. 'Here. Now let's get started. You see those pieces of gold cloth? Do you know how to sew? Let me show you. Here, see, use your needle and sew like this, here is a picture, follow this and sew the pieces of cloth all together. Shall make the body nice. I will be in another tent. I will be back in a while and check how is your griffin's body!'
Cassie returns to the Pottery tent. Lorelai should be finished with making the shape. She thinks. And yes, she is right. 'Hello Lorelai! I am back! Wow, I love the shape of your little vase.' She takes out a small device to dry the clay. After a few minutes, it is quite dry. 'Very cute! Alright.' She goes to fetch some small bottles of paint and a paint brush. 'Here you are, start painting! Some cautions for you, do not directly touch the vase. It is not dry enough. Do not draw too hard either. Have fun! I bet your vase will look great!'

So far, surprisingly, Summer Camp was pretty fun. Despite Madi's nightmare of a cabin, she was enjoying it. She was really excited for the DIY Fair. She loved making things, although they often broke or failed in some way. That was part of the reason why she decided not to do pottery. And Origami did not sound like something Madi would be that interested in.
She walked over to the pink tent and stepped inside. There were several others there, so she smiled at them and went to go get everything she would need. She already knew what she wanted to make. A Phoenix. She loved Phoenixes from the moment she heard about them. A bird that regrew itself from fire? It's totally fascinating! It was probably her favorite creature in the Magical World.
Carrying all of her materials in her arms, she went over to find a seat at the table and wait for instructions. She would have liked to try and make it herself, but found it better to have someone who knew what they were doing help her. She didn't want it to come out looking like a disaster. Her art projects often did.

Mellani watched Cassie as she entered, and gave her aa small acknowledging smile. She watched as Cassie went to Hannah, and took this time to think out something solid about what to do.
She nodded to Cassie as she came in her direction. "Alright! Thanks Cassie.", she responded. As she was sketching, the other girl addressed her, introducing herself as Lorelai, from Castelobruxo. "I'm Mellani, I'm from Hogwarts, I'd really like to know more about Castelobruxo though", she said, smiling warmly.
In the time that she was doing her sketch, Cassie had come and gone once, and Mellani decided to wait till the next time she came to show her the complete sketch. In that time, Mellani gathered some clay and a few carving tools as a way of planning for what to do next. She pondered on whether she should start or wait and decided to wait since she wasn't really experienced in the field of pottery and she knew it would be risky to start out all by herself. She looked around curiously, wondering how many new people she would get to meet and how fun it would be. Or how not fun it would be. She wasn't really the social type, and she still doubted staying for camp was a good idea.
