CL Brooms at the Ready!

Concentration, Speed, those two are where Raizel's focus is. Her body was leaned forward, lowered down to keep her more aerodynamic. Her eyes are on the course ahead with her hands holding tightly onto her broom shaft. She didn't cast any spells this time, she wanted to pick up the pace that she had lost after that freezing blizzard that had slowed her down.

Raizel could hear the others though, the spells shooting out from their wands and just as she glanced towards where one of those sounds came from, Aurora was hit by a greatly casted flipendo. Luckily, the Hufflepuff managed to stay on her broom, making Raizel sigh in relief. Still, that was a well casted spell from the other team. Aurora then retaliated with a different attack this time, by throwing a rock at Duvessa. Unfortunately, it missed.

With the others keeping their opponents busy with their attacks, this is her chance to get some spaces ahead once more. "C'mon!" She shouted, closing her eyes and lowering her head just as she went past the waterfall, feeling the cold water touching and drenching parts of her clothes. Looks like she didn't suffer the same fate as Beatrice on that one which is good.

The wind was beginning to pick up but that won't stop Raizel from soaring through the air. Again, she leaned forward, reducing the air drag by leaning forward and lowering down. There's more in this than just the winds and she could see how fast she's approaching the thorny obstacle. She gritted her teeth, bracing herself for it and fortunately, she didn't receive any scratch while maneuvering through, avoiding getting caught up in those nasty thorns. That would've been a nasty sight. The winds are still going strong but nothing that she can't handle as of now.

Being determined was only Duvessa's second nature, so she clutched onto her broom as if through fire. She looked around, seeing a tempting target. Aurora Griffith was closely in front of her, and she wanted to thwart the chances of the other team winning. She took out her wand and aimed, shooting a perfect Knockback Jinx. It hit her squarely, much to the Slytherins delight, but didn't make her fall off. She wobbled perilously though.

In return, Aurora tried to throw...a well, rock at her. Duvessa looked at her truiamphantly as the rock flew past her as she dodged. That really was like dueling, although with rocks instead of spells. No ridiculous dancing as she had to experience. Then she tried to move forward, to get the victory. And Raizel was in front of her, in the lead making her an obvious target.

There were a few easy thorns that she flew past expertly, and then got ready for the next unit. It was hard to hope that she would not be the one attacking next time.... the other team seemed to be determined to get her out. Her Comet flew around pretty well, and Duvessa reminded herself to polish it after the ride. That was, of course, if it got more damaged.

The spell connected perfectly with Ashley’s leg, and Odi let out a melodic laugh as he saw the Ravenclaw boy struggle to remain on his broom. “Training for the ballet Montez? My mother used to be a ballerina if you want some lessons.” Odi’s smug grin turned sour on his face however, as Ashley continued to speed up on his broom, clinging on despite his flailing legs and increasing the distance between him and Odi more and more with each passing moment. Odi tried his best to keep up, but his school broom could not maintain the pace. Odi grunted and muttered foul words to his broom under his breath.

The wind seemed to whisper words of encouragement, but all Odi could think of was how much louder they would be if he had a proper broomstick to send him zipping past his competition. The shapes of his peers were fast disappearing into the distance, and the little blonde boy tried his best to maintain his resolve.

At the very least, he could count his blessings that this section of the track seemed clearer than the last few. Up ahead he could see more obstacles, but he tried to erase these from his mind. No more distractions. His confidence grew as his pace picked up and he steeled himself for that which was still to come.

Beatrice shuddered, the freezing water surrounding her fully. Her leggings were sticking to her legs, her Slytherin Sweater was pulling her down as it became way too heavy and her shoes were filled with the freezing liquid she was surrounded by. Her hair was sticking to her face and as her eyes searched for her broom, she mindlessly tied it up with the hair tie she had already had in her hair. The next thing she did was checking if she still had her wand. It was still right where it had been, safe and secure. There seemed to be a storm going on inside her eyes and when they finally found what she was searching for, Beatrice was quick to get to it. Her broom gladly wasn't damaged and as she tried to pull herself from the water and get back on it, she could hear Ying yelling some words of encouragement. Beatrice struggled to get back up in the air. Her heavy clothes were pulling her down and the water was draining from her as she got back up into the air. Lingering in the air for a few seconds, Beatrice knew that she now had to get back up to her teammates and opponents. She was still further than Ashley and Odilon but the other three girls were further ahead of her and Beatrice was still stuck in unit 9 as she started flying again.

Reaching farther units could seem exhilarating, but there were many hurdles to overcome, and some of them appeared to be rather dangerous. Nevertheless, participants had to get through them all. Ashley opted to keep the broom racing and duelling separate and stored his wand in a secure location. The slower he moved in the race as a result of casting spells on more individuals, and the two Slytherin ladies would undoubtedly not want to come in last in the race.

They were exerting a lot of effort in the race since they were making progress and overcoming hurdles with ease. Similar to how he had overcome the previous challenges, Ashley chose to move on and ceased performing spells. The Ravenclaw boy had to cross through the obstacle of the vines as well, and it appears that he did it successfully. The boy simultaneously wished he could skip the hurdle and move on to the next one because it was so exhausting to stay on the broom for such a long time. Odi seemed to be slipping behind eventually and being sluggish, so he pondered what the other lad was really up to as he raced on top of his broom to reach the next unit. It seems pointless to care about others at this stage.

Its seemed like both teams were trying to get the race's lead at all cost. Ying joyfully saw as the Other Team tried their best to catch Duvessa under their spells. Aurora cast a perfect Flipendo, but the young snake was difficult to hit, the dark-haired girl evaded that spell with ease. What she was not expecting apparently was Rai's spell coming also towards her direction. The Dancing Feet spell caught her sneakily but Duvessa was still able to maintain her position on top of her broom! At least for now... Ying saw how the girl stubbornly kept holding on her broom and flying ahead.

At the opposite end of the race, the charming part-veela boy was still struggling, the challenges seemed to be giving him a hard time, or perhaps luck was simply not in his side that day. Odi almost froze with the heavy and icy snowflakes falling over him.

After a somewhat rocky start, the raven boy seemed to be focus in cutting through the skies like a very sharp thrown dagger. The boy looked like he had gain some strength in his will to catch his teammates in the front of the race.
Accompanying him and moving forward was the beautiful girl with raven hair but heart of a snake. Beatrice Dupont, after tragically fall from her broom, was determined to continue in the race and show that it wouldn't be a dive into cold waters that would stop her from fighting to conquer her goal.

After facing a field filled with dangerous thorns and passing through a threatening high wind...an open space appeared to give the racers some moments to breathe before facing one of the most biggest challenges of this race: The Maze! Its big walls were tall and made of strong and merciless stone walls. Ying was feeling anxious and excited to see how would the racers face this imposing obstacle.
Beatrice and Duvessa appeared in the other side after a few minutes while Raizel and Aurora seemed to struggle a little more to find the Maze's exit. Ying just hoped they wouldn't be lost forever, or that could be a real problem to solve!

The Ravenclaw boy has been making it through the race so far and appears to be doing well with each round that goes by. The youngster was in an Easy High Winds unit, which he didn't particularly enjoy because it wasn't consistent with his style of riding. From the moment he made his debut there, he detested the windy obstacle.

He was impacted by the fact that he was forced to squint his eyes due to the wind. The cool breeze dried up his eyes, and he could feel his oculars becoming a little stinging sour. He rode his broom and said under his breath, "Shizz, I need to get out of here," as he sped toward another impediment.

The Griffyndor Boy was nowhere to be seen, which indicated that he was far behind him and caused him to become a little thrilled. It would be wonderful if the Snek and Raven team won and finished the race together. This is what we now refer to as teamwork.

The snowfall was Ashley's lover, and if it were up to him, he would like to stay there and explore the frigid surroundings. Racing through the other courses and units was equally interesting. Unfortunately, there was no time to spend; they had to win, no matter what.

I had been doing pretty well for the time being, and I started getting comfortable with flying. I decided to do an attack on one of the people from the other team, Duvessa. I wasn't about to let her Flipendo me again...taking out my wand, I attempted to shoot Flipendo at Duvessa, but unfortunately, I missed...great. I flew forward, trying to keep up as best I could to Duvessa. Though, I had to admit, this was kind of fun.

Now I remembered why I had used to love broom racing so much, it was quite thrilling, really being on a broom. However, I also now remembered why I chose duelling over it...though things were now interesting, and it was starting to become a close race, it was wild. In a good and bad way. But hey, at least if you make it out intact, then there's absolutely nothing to worry about. Besides, this wasn't like a professional broom race.

I flew right through the high winds, and it was beginning to be a close race. And then I saw it. The maze. I tried not to be worried by the huge stone walls, and flew in. Unfortunately, after some time passed, I couldn't seem to find my way. Uh oh. Worried, I looked around for my teammate. "Raizel? Raizel? Where are you?" Maybe, if I found her, it would be easier for us to navigate the maze and find a way out if we worked together! If not, then I was on my own...

The race was nearing its end, Raizel could already feel it as the goal was coming in close. As much as she’d like to keep her focus on her speed, she knows that she must do something about their opponents. She needs to do something, like a diversion or perhaps that will hinder them from flying properly.

Spells, Spells, what spell will work. Gotta think fast.

An idea came to her, something that she thinks could help. Looking back at her target which is one of the Slytherin girls, Duvessa, she could see that she’s busy dealing with Aurora’s Flipendo that was magnificently casted. Oh that would’ve helped them a lot if she got a hit in. Unfortunately though, Duvessa had seen it coming, managing to get out of its way cleanly. That’s when Raizel saw her chance. She took out her wand, her hold on it and her broom tightening as she positioned herself for the spell that she’s about to cast.

A quick gesture and then the incantation. “Tarantallegra!” A flash of light shone from her wand, the spell tearing through the air and coming in close to its target. A hit but unfortunately, the crazy leg movements weren’t enough to knock Duvessa off of her broom which made Raizel click her tongue in annoyance. More misfortune fell as the other team seemed to be doing well compared to hers. Odi is far behind right now and just as soon as she entered the maze, she got lost pretty much immediately.

“Oh such misfortune…” She uttered as she stopped to look left and right, the pathways looking like they could go on forever in every direction. Where was her team? She swears that she entered this maze with Aurora earlier. She just hopes she has better luck than her.

As Beatrice finally reached unit ten, she started feeling like she was getting on top of the game again. It hadn't been easy to get here but these easy winds actually felt quite nice, even though she was still rather wet. To be honest, she was not feeling her best physically due to the fact she had fallen into the freezing and possibly dirty water as well as taken some other slight hits and injuries, but nothing was too bad and she was still good in the race. Nothing would stop her now, at least nothing she could control. Her eyes were fixated to the front and she drowned out anything that could be distracting. A slight smile spread across her lips as she rode through the air, her broom close beneath her and her wand tightly secured. As she came closer to unit 12, Thorns came into view. For a moment, Beatrice thought this was going to be a problem but then she just rushed through them with no injury or getting stuck, which pushed her confidence quite high. She felt like a lightning bolt, racing through the units and feeling the wind in her hair. Her clothes started to feel dry again and there was no longer water draining from her shoes. Soon, she had catched up with Raizel, Aurora and Duvessa. There was some more wind before a large maze came into view. Taking one of the routes inside, Beatrice was still quite fast but careful not to crash into any walls until her and Duvessa flew out of the maze together a couple minutes later. Raizel and Aurora seemed to have some more struggles but Beatrice wouldn't look back.
