Dora's Outfit:

✹✧~✧✹
Dora paces in her room, running through the rehearsed greeting. "Welcome to Everridge Manor." She says, then shakes her head and tries again. "Welcome to Everridge Manor."
She looks in the mirror, disappointed at her appearance. She's not good at smiling. At least the dress isn't overly frilly, but she still looks silly in it. Dora straightens her black lace gloves, gathering the courage she'll need to make it through the day.
'How am I going to do this?'
Her bedroom door creaks open and her grandmother, Ramona Bethany Everridge, enters briskly. She tuts as she walks over to Dora, her cane thumping against the hardwood floor. "I told you to get ready, child. What is this mess with your hair?"
Dora had tried putting it up like her grandmother wanted, but there are some stray black hairs sticking out that she couldn't tame. Ramona sighs, taking a comb and undoing the knot. She pulls Dora's hair into a tight braid and pins it up. "The Summer Ball is an annual event between the most distinguished members of wizarding society." She lectures, "We get the privilege of hosting it this year, and we will not make a mockery of this family with a poor showing." Her grandmother finishes off by pulling the strings of her corset tighter, eliciting a small gasp from Dora. "Follow me."
She complies, trailing behind her grandmother through the hall and down the stairs to the entrance hall. The house elves are putting the final touches on the decorations. Ramona claps her hands twice. "That will be all." The house elves stop their work and bow their heads, apparating away shortly after.
The entire manor, usually dark and dreary, is now glittering with silver and gold decor, and touches of white here and there. Guests will likely have to drive or fly a ways to get here, as Everridge Manor is tucked into an unpopulated spot of Havering, much like the countryside. They might pass the cemetery and mortuary on the way. When they arrive, they'll be able to park across from the manor, or pass their broom off to an elf, and follow the path to the front lined with red and white roses and thin spiral hedges.
✹✧~✧✹
✹✧~✧✹
✹✧~✧✹
After being greeted, they'll enter the entrance hall and the house elves will take their coats. They'll be able to chat there, or proceed to the decadent ballroom where the ball will soon officially commence.
"Where are the boys, now?" Ramona Everridge tuts, checking the old clock as the time of the party draws near. "Ah! There you are."
Bradley exits the drawing room, Uncle Harris leading Grandfather slowly behind. They all wear formal black suits, and Bradley's hair is slicked back. He grins charmingly when he sees Ramona. "Grandmother! You look lovely."
"And you look like a fine young gentleman." She replies with a satisfied smile, patting him affectionately on the shoulder. Dora watches with a twinge of jealousy. "I trust you and Isadora will do a fine job of greeting our guests."
"Of course! Right, cousin?"
His smile seems more mocking when it's turned to her. Dora nods, trying not to react.
"Good." Ramona approaches her husband, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "You look dashing, my dear." She turns to Harris. "You both do."
"Thank you, mother." Uncle Harris replies, handing Grandfather off to her. "Though you know I'm not one for parties."
"Hush. It's been ages since we've all been seen together, and we must present a unified front. I'll have no complaints."
Grandmother's right about that. Grandfather, in particular, hasn't been to a ball in quite sometime, but he's finally feeling healthier. His eyes are bright and curious as he looks around at the decorations and smiles at his wife. "Is the band here?"
"Yes, darling, would you like to go see them?"
"Yes, yes.. Very good.. Where's Cassie?"
Dora stills as he mentions her mother, as does everyone else. Grandmother pauses, her face tense as she puts on a smile. "No, dear. She's still away, remember?"
Grandfather blinks. "Oh. Oh, yes."
"Why don't you go see the band, dear, I'll meet you there." He acquiesces, shuffling off to the ballroom. Ramona's smile fades as she turns to Harris. "Keep an eye on him tonight. I'll handle business."
"Yes, mother."
"Well!" She exclaims, "The guests will arrive any minute. Greet them, and remember," Ramona turns to Dora, eyes boring into her. "Act as an Everridge."
"Yes ma'am." Dora says quietly as Bradley smirks at her. Ramona nods and takes Harris' arm, going to the ballroom. Dora and Bradley stand on either side of the open front doors, waiting.
He turns his head to her once they're alone. "You heard her, Dizzy." Her eye twitches at the nickname, "Act like an Everridge."
Dora takes a breath, or tries to in this corset. She tries not to listen to him, pushing the nerves down and setting her eyes on the entryway and the arriving guests. Hoping to get this right, she straightens her spine and greets all who arrive.
"Welcome to Everridge Manor."

Hannah was the opposite of excited when it came to balls. She despised them, yet here she stood, in her room, whist a maid applied make up on her face, and her mother tried to lecture her, on why it was important that she went. "But, why does the dress has to be green? The red one was much, much prettier. I don't like the design." "Because, it's the family color. You have to wear it." "And why do I have to go?" she said. "It's tradition. When I was your age, I didn't have the privilege to go to these balls. Oh, and you're a pure-blood okay?" "I know." said Hannah.
The low heels were horrible, she did not like them, at all. So, she put on sneakers. "Oh no. You're not wearing those, especially not to a ball as important as this one. Just, take them off." "Ugh. This whole ball is stupid. Fine, just so father doesn't get angry. But if it was only you, I would keep them on." "I know you might think this is stupid, but really, give it a thought. It is just for reputation. Come on." "Let's go."
Someone knocked on the door "Are you ready yet?" it was her father. "Yes, just a second." said the girl. The girls left Hannah's room. "Let us go. Come on." spoke her mother. Hannah nodded. Silence took the corridor, no one spoke a word, they got their brooms.
The flight went smoothly. Her parents shared a broom, she had her own. No one dared to speak a word, especially not her father.
Once they got there, Hannah noticed the entrance was grand, the manor was very big. Then, Hannah remembered they would have to stay for the dinner. "Ugh. I hate this already. her parents would probably make her greet some people, maybe her age, but she would not like this.
The family stopped at the entrance, her mother then started talking to Hannah. "Okay, remember, you're a pure-blood now, and you must behave like the fine young lady you are, or we taught you to be. Just-" her father then interrupted. "What your mother means, is that you have to behave like a Blossom." Hannah nodded, she looked down to her gloves, they were very itchy. White long gloves made of silk. "Oh, and also. Do not misbehave. If you do, there will be serious consequences." her father stated in his rough voice with his Scottish accent.
Hannah remembered the time her family hosted the ball, some time ago. She did not like the fact that her ballroom was infested with rich high class pure-bloods and half-bloods. She did not like that idea. The girl was also acquainted with kids her own age, something that she didn't really like. Then, she thought of the fact, she spent most of the ball in a corner of the house. She couldn't go to her room, her parents would find her and she would have to spend the ball with her parents. So, she just stayed in a corner of the ballroom.
Then, she went back to reality. Her parents handed their brooms to the elves. She didn't pay attention to her parents. They then came inside, and exited to the ballroom. Great, they were the first to get there, so Hannah couldn't blend in, well, except if she could blend in with her parents, but that could not be possible, since, they were only two. If she had her whole family here, maybe she could blend in, but it was only her and her parents.

Estelle still couldn't believe she was actually going to a ball. When she had received an invitation from her Abuela - along with a handwritten note telling her the location of the Nyx Family Manor and instructions on what to do when the chauffeur arrives - her father had reluctantly let her go, with a promise that she would not take everything her Abuela says to heart.
Estelle had gone to the Manor where she met her father's family. Her prima, Isadora was really nice, if a little posh and she immediately made friends with her. Her primo, Juan, wasn't the most friendly, and still disliked Estelle. He had the same mindset as her tío, who spent a lot of time glaring at Estelle. Her tía, Rosenda, was really nice and Isadora and Estelle spent a lot of time playing with her son, Estelle's primo pequeño, Zacharías.
Estelle's Abuela (she had made the mistake of calling her Grandmother once, which did not go down well) was quite strict, but was nicer than Estelle had expected. However, she did not like it when Estelle mentioned anything about her time in the muggle world. Her father was right about her Abuela's blood purist beliefs.
Estelle had stayed with her Father's family for almost a week before the ball. The family spoke in Spanish, which was a little difficult at first as she hadn't practised much during her first year at Hogwarts, but Estelle's Spanish quickly came back to her. In that week, her Abuela had trained her in how to act, speak, dance and even laugh. She really hoped she would not make a fool of herself.
Her dress was one of the most beautiful things she had ever seen. It was black, with delicate red lace that highlighted the ebony folds of the skirt. It was accompanied by a necklace of real rubies and a satin flower that was pinned into her curled, golden hair. She had never worn a corset before and she could feel the frame crushing her ribs, but it was worth it. She looked incredible.
Estelle's family arrived by carriage to the ball. Similarly to the carriage that transported students to Beauxbatons, the Nyx's carraige was pulled by flying horses. When the carriage had set off, Estelle had gasped. The view from the carriage was incredible. She had never seen anything like it. The people below looked like Lego characters, then pinpricks. She had felt that if she could stick her hand out of the window, she would have been able to touch the clouds.
The journey was filled with Estelle's Abuela reminding them of how to act, who to talk to and how to dance. Her Abuela meant well, but by the third time she had gone over how to waltz Estelle had zoned out.
The carriage began to descend. Estelle held on tightly as the pristine, porcelain pegasi descended and finally touched down outside the Manor. She glanced nervously at Isadora who squeezed her hand. Juan rolled his eyes.
Estelle and Isabella glared at Juan.
With a final "Recuerda lo que te enseñé" Remember what I taught you, Estelle's Abuela gracefully stepped out of the carriage and led the way into the ball.

The Summer Ball

It was the day of the ball. Danielle’s first summer at Hogwarts had ended yesterday, and she had stayed the night at the Emberwood Manor with her friend, Sophia Fan after riding the hogwarts express home. Sof would be arriving under the name of Sophia Grace, however, to mask up her real identity as a muggle born, or as many purebloods rudely called them, mudbloods.
For the occasion, she had worn a light and beautiful beige/gold gown, and had brought a second black gradient gown for the evening in a small pouch that was bigger on the inside.
Sof and her had arrived in two silver arrows, which has been her father’s, since Mr. Emberwood had always been a big enjoyer of quidditch. Danielle had protested, originally, since she wasn't confident in her flying and would have much rather ridden the coach, but her parents were taking it on their errand.
"Remember to bow and talk formally," Mr. Emberwood reminded the two before they left the manor. "I don't want to hear anything bad about you two."
A few minutes of flying later, they lightly touched down in front of a medieval-looking manor with hedges in front, and a house elf came to them to take their brooms.
Danielle adjusted her dress, and walked into the manor. A few people had already begun to arrive, but not a lot.

July 3, 2023 (2:32pm}A maid helped Ara get ready. The ball was very important according to her parents who couldn't even attend it. She was supposed to be dressed elegantly. The girl was with her older sister, Catherine, and her older brother, Edmund. Ara wanted to wear a suit so badly, but her parents refused to let her, giving her the freedom to pick her dress. She picked a black dress, Catherine picked a white and navy blue dress, and Edmund wore a suit that Ara actually wanted to get when it didn't fit him anymore. She knew this because their parents made them pick the outfit the night before so that their clothes can look as best as they can.
"°Do I really have to go?°" She asked her eldest brother, Peter. "°Sorry I couldn't come, I have to do something°" he replied. Ara groaned and got up, she was wearing shoes with a heel that's quite tall. 'These are easier to walk in than I thought at least' she thought. The ravenette puts gets her bag and walks out of her room.
"You look gorgeous sis!" Her youngest sibling, Hallie said as she walked down the staircase. "°I wish I can go too but at least I'm going to the next one!°" She exclaims. "°Finally one sister came down!°" Edmund said teasingly as he stood up from a chair, "Ha ha." Ara says sarcastically. A few seconds later, Catherine comes down looking absolutely stunning in her dress and hair-do. "°Why can't I look that pretty!?°" The ravenette says, complimenting her sister in her navy dress. "You look lovely too Ara" Catherine compliments back like her kind self. "Let's go!" Edmunds says suddenly grabbing both of their wrists, annoying Ara a lot.
~Small time skip~
The 3 siblings made it to the ball, and each one of them fixed themselves for about 5 seconds until they finally walk in. Isadora and a few people she didn't know greeted them. Ara made a small and quite elegant wave at Isadora as she walked past her. When she looked around, she saw a few people she knew but decided to stick with her siblings until someone approached her or they abandon her and leave their poor introverted sister behind.Open to interactionsRP Word Count:378/200

Anna was plenty excited for this ball. It was held at Everridge manor, and if she remembers correctly she met an Everridge at Hogwarts. Her name was Isadora and they met at an owlery of all places. She struck Anna as a very reserved person, that might be why she hadn’t seen much of her at Hogwarts, but now she’d get the chance to talk to her again if she wasn’t too busy of course.
Anna twirled in front of her floor length mirror, she really liked this dress, she hoped it was appropriate for this ball, it was a summer ball afterall. Her mother entered her room. “Mon chère, my dear are you ready?”, Madeline asked. “Almost maman. Can you do my hair?”, she held up two white ribbons. “Of course, amour love”, Madeline took the ribbons from her daughters hands and levitating a brush to her hand started combing Anna’s hair.
Aiden waited patiently at the door, checking his watch and then the grand staircase for any sign of his wife and daughter. Anna’s giggling grabbed his attention as the young with ran down the stairs and did a twirl for her dad. “How do I look”, she squealed happily. “Gorgeous, darling”, Aiden smiled, his eyes lifting to gaze at his wife descending the stairs much slower, “Just like your mother”. Madeline giggled, hiding her blushing face behind her hand. “Shall we”, Aiden offered his arm for Madeline to take, and with that the Blackrose family entered the carriage pulled by two Abraxan foals, Noir and Lune. They learned not to just drive the carriage, the roads weren’t made for them anymore, so they took to the skies.
The Everridge manor was magnificent in Anna’s eyes. The perfect blend of gothic and elegance. They descended, the foals landing with heavy thumps. Exiting the carriage, Anna straightened her dress and waited for her parents. Straightening her back as well they walked in together. Through the main doors was a welcoming hall, and Anna spotted Isadora next to her family. Plastering a pleasant smile on her face she greeted the elders first, with a small curtsy, and then greeted Isa. “It’s wonderful to see you again Isadora. It’s a pleasure to attend the Summer Ball held by your family”. She smiled again and entered the ballroom. There weren’t any people she knew well, so she hoped Isadora would join her once she was done greeting the guests.

Tesla "Blackwood"
Elaine Blackwood
Martin Blackwood
All wear the following necklace/pendant in some form.
Tes slouched in her seat in the car, a pout firmly in place on her face. She should've known something was up yesterday when she got home and found her grandmother there a week before she was supposed to whisk her away to her big gloomy mansion in America. She'd presented a brand-new wizarding camera as a gift (or maybe a bribe), which Tes was incredibly excited about. She was much less excited when her grandmother's next gifts consisted of a delicately carved circlet and long gown with red branches printed onto it, along with the surprise that they'd be going to the annual pureblood Summer Ball. Tes hadn't listened to anything else her grandmother tried to tell her, preferring instead to storm away over the unfairness of it. She wasn't proud of it once her temper cooled, and she quickly came back out to apologize.
Now here she was, with etiquette hammered into her head and all personality smothered by hairspray and thick makeup. Tes was crammed into her mothers' car with her grandmother Elaine, and her uncle Martin. The drive was long and arduous, but at the very least Tes was enjoying chatting with her uncle as he drove. He was a kind man; tall and with a softer build that spoke of good meals and time spent sitting in his office tending to the family bookkeeping. He told Tes all about his husband, a pureblood wizard that managed records for MACUSA. Her grandmother kept quiet except to shoot Tes disapproving stares and correct her on her posture.
Tes realized the error in not paying attention to her grandmother's information about the ball, when they pulled up to a large, gloomy manor with a cemetery off in the distance. Her suspicions were confirmed when Elaine told her, "Welcome to Everridge Manor. These are very renowned wizards, and good business partners beside. Be sure to mind your manners and-" She was cut off as Tes barreled out of the car in excitement, eager to see her friend Isadora. She was quickly caught and pulled back standing to the left of her grandmother with her uncle on Elaine's right, "Tesla! What was I just saying?"
"I'm sorry Grandmother, but I know Isadora! I'm just super excited to see my friend!" Tes was practically vibrating in place, shifting from foot to foot and bouncing as they began walking at a much more refined pace to the grand front door. Elaine's brow twitched with annoyance, before raising with curiosity and asking, "You know the Everridges? When I asked you to make friends with good students at Hogwarts you were so against it, and yet you were already doing so?"
Tes mumbled something noncommittal in response, craning her neck as the doors came into sight past the rosebushes. She gasped with excitement as she caught sight of Isadora, wearing an elegant dress with elaborate lacing and a corset cinched tight. Not even her grandmother's scandalized gasp could stop her from gathering her dress into her hands and running forward. "Isadora! I can't believe it!" She stopped close to her friend, dropping her skirt back down to brush the ground, refraining from reaching out to grasp her hand or give her a hug. She was suddenly self-conscious of her state, primped and proper as she was. It was like nothing Dora had ever seen her in before. She caught sight of her grandmother and uncle catching up out of the corner of her eye, and her lips pulled into a grimace, instead of the lopsided grin they'd been in, mulishly dropping her gaze to the ground between Isadora's polished shoes. "It's good to see you. We'll have to catch up later, okay?" she whispered, catching Dora's eyes and smiling once more.
That was when Elaine got there, leveraging very inch of her intimidating six-foot frame in the heels she'd chosen. She gently set a hand on Tes's shoulder, drawing her back a step to a more respectable distance. "Thank you for being our hosts this year, young lady," she glanced at the boy at the other door that Tes could only assume was Dora's cousin, leveling him with a critical stare but not seeming to find any obvious flaws, "I trust you and my granddaughter will have time to visit later. After all, the Everridges and Blackwoods have had good relations for many years. A friendship between you two is quite beneficial." She waited for a response from Isadora, Martin leaning around her side to give a polite wave and soothing smile, as though apologizing for his mother. Tes could only hope the two could speak without any intimidating but surely well-meaning grandmothers around.
Elaine ushered Tes and Martin both into the manor once she deemed the conversation sufficiently over, and once inside she and Martin broke off to go speak with the adults. Martin shooed Tes off with a soft smile and instructions to enjoy herself. She wasn't sure she'd be able to, standing alone and uncomfortable in the decorated entry hall. That was until she saw a familiar face in an elegant green dress, and Tes moved closer to say hello. "Hannah! It's Tesla. I don't think we've talked since October?" Her eyes were wide and hopeful that Hannah would recognize her and spare her the awkwardness of standing alone.

@Danielle EmberwoodSophia walked into the manor perturbed beside Dani. Last night, Sophia stayed at the Emberwood manor with her friend, Danielle Emberwood, who invites her to the ball. She has already contacted her parents through owl about the ball. Sophia actually shouldn't attend this ball because of her identity. But to hush up the fact of Sophia is a muggle-born, she impersonates Dani's cousin. She is now Sophia Grace.
She maybe should stay outside, Sophia thought as she and Dani reaches the manor garden's stone steps. Her hand tightly lifted her light blue dress's outer gauze. Dani's father, Mr. Emberwood, offered them two silver arrow brooms and they flew across the city to the Everridge's manor. It's the first time Sophia really applies the knowledge in flying class to real life, she is nearly petrified during the flying process. One humble-looking house elf reached them and took their brooms away.
Sophia tries her best to shrink herself into the dress as if she could be absolutely unseen. She hopes she knows how to be invisible. She squeezes Dani's hand and whispers "I'm too nervous. What do you think...like...if I stay outside and wait for the ball to finish?" Sophia is shaking while mumbling out sentences. The words suddenly seem super difficult to pronounce. Observing a few guests arriving, she was nearly transfixed in situ, and her shudder became stronger.

The Everidge Summer Ball, a Pureblood event, an event ripe for political talk, and displays of power. A perfect place for the Theramin Family to display their wealth and intelligence. It would be the time to create and establish political alliances with the powerful. His mother and father, though eccentric as they were lovers of the muggle world, still were the Head of the Noble House of Theramin, still were cold, perfect and Slytherin ready. The relationship between them and Tristan was slightly improving but they were still strangers. But as always, they would put up a united front and appear as one. Nothing would change that. The fact that their relationship was similar to one of the past, where tutors and house elves took care of children did not fully bother Tristan as he also was cold and intelligent. He deemed himself a high-functioning sociopath and displayed the opinion outwardly that emotions were only a disadvantage. They were dressed in the finest of clothes, a decadent gown with jewels placed in the pattern of a beautiful emerald snake for Tristan’s mother, for his father, a black suit with a embroidered emerald snake, and for himself a three piece suit, w green silk vest with golden embroidery, a tie of the same pattern, a black collared shirt, and a black suit. Their first display of power and eccentricity was to show up in a horse-drawn carriage rather than by apparition and when they arrived at the Everidge Manor, they gracefully stepped out of their means of transportation with faces as perfectly neutral as a Pureblood noble should be. They confidently stepped into the doors of the manner, revealing none of their opinions. Tristan, when he heard the daughter of the family welcome them, stepped forward and grabbed her hand, kissing it, as a muggle prince would, and said, “I offer my appreciation for the invitation to your Summer Ball, I am the Heir to the Noble House of Theramin, and here behind me are Lord and Lady Theramin.” As he remembered her from Hogwarts he quickly introduced her to his parents in French, saying, “C’est Mademoiselle Everidge, Elle est une étudiante de deuxième année de Hufflepuff.” a
aThis is Miss. Everidge, she is a second year Hufflpuff.
