Wait... who are you?
This letter was written from Lorelai Diniz [castelobruxo iNPC] to her mother, but the owl accidentally sent it to Miles Thatcher [ilvermorny iNPC] @Simon Kincaid
Querida mãe, dear mom
Well, It's been a few months since I last saw you, since I got here. I've missed you a lot. And the family, and Rio, and Santos, well, everything. I'm really sorry I didn't go spent Christmas with you guys. I wish I did, at the time it seemed like a good idea to spent the holiday here, but now that I look back, it wasn't. So yeah... I regret that decision.
How are my siblings? Still going to school right? Or are the twins faking sick a lot? Well, they haven't been to middle school yet, well see then, right? How is Marcus, I've missed him a lot. What about dad? Is he busy again? Probably.
I don't know why, but magic is so confusing. Are you sure you aren't a witch? I still don't understand what are 'pure-bloods', and I don't know why I'm called a 'muggle-born'. I still don't understand. I'll probably get used to it. I think it's kind of like poor and rich people. I'm the poor person. That's probably it.
I've also learned that there's a type of doctor in the magical world. They are called 'healers', the name makes sense. They are kind of like doctors, but they use magic. It's really cool. Maybe I'll be one once I grow up? Or perhaps a teacher at Castelobruxo
I've made a few friends here, but nothing too much. Ugh, why do I have to write owls, using my phone was so much faster! Plus, all my friends think I'm going to boarding school, what am I going to say once I get back? I can't say I'm a witch. It's in the rules.
By the way, I'm a Broom Racer! Yeah, I got into the team. It's pretty exciting I guess. Once I got into my broom.. I knew exactly what I was doing! Like I was born to broom race. Well, you know I always loved to race, well it was fun. Broom racing is racing, but with flying brooms, forget it, you'd never understand. I really wish you were a witch. Maybe then you'd understand...but you're not. It's okay, I know. It's just, if you were a witch, maybe you'd be able to clear everything up. Explain this world I never knew existed. Besides, I can't ask my friends from Castelobruxo, since they would probably laugh behind my back or whatever. You get it.
I miss you all,
Lorelai

Wait... who are you?

A letter intended for @Hannah Blossom's inpc, Lorelai Diniz
Miles was supposed to be getting ready for some fancy pureblodded gala that was benefiting some magical creature or another. He couldn't keep them straight, as it seemed they all blurred together and he wished he could just have some peace and quiet over Spring Break.
He was just buttoning up his dress shirt when there was a squack at the window and he looked over to see an unfamiliar owl. It didn't seem to have the markings of any of the school owls and it certainly wasn't one that belonged to his family. "When you fly out of here, can you somehow take me with you?" he said to the bird as he came closer and retrieved the letter from it. Miles sighed before patting the owl on the head. It wasn't the owl's fault that they had the freedom to fly away from that dreaded place but he couldn't.
He brought the letter out of the envelope and examined it. Even it didn't look like any familiar handwriting and he examined the first line: Querida mãe, (Dear mom,). Well that didn't seem like English. Obviously.
Miles read on.
It was from someone named Lorelai who was writing to, most likely, her mother. She asked about her siblings and she asked about her father. She seemed quite clueless about the magical world in general but there were some intriguing points - that she too was perhaps interested in magical medicine and while it wasn't quidditch, she did enjoy one of the broom sports. Broom sports were always better than dueling. Dueling was a combination of luck and ego, not skill.
"Miles! Are you ready yet? We should be leaving now!" his mother barked from the other side of his bedroom door. No, he wasn't ready. Nor was he going to be. Not yet. "Finishing writing a letter!" he called out.
Miles then got out some parchment and began to reply.
My Dearest Lorelai,
What can one say but life isn't fair? It's not. We might strive to do our best often we still fail. We might strive to do good in the world but fall short. We might think that we're a decent family member but then up and abandon them during holidays - leaving us with enough grief and guilt to write home.
Wait, I no longer can remember if I'm talking about me or you anymore. Oh well. Your family seems rather close. I would normally say that you should probably spend more time with them and start going home on holiday breaks but if you do not know the difference between a pureblood and a muggle-born, perhaps your magical school is where you should spend most of your time. It's far from merely an economic social classe, although, I suppose in many terms it can also be considered that.
Congrats on making the broom racing team! One only has to try and go fast and stay on a broom for that, no? Shame you haven't the skills for quidditch, where it's all the complexity of broom racing - and more.
Missing you not at all,
Miles

Wait... who are you?
Lorelai headed to the owlery, to grab her mother's letter, but to her own suprise, it wasn't her mother. Instead, it was a guy named Miles, who was extremely rude. What the hell? You know what? Ugh. Let me just write a response." she thought while reading. This letter was written from Lorelai Diniz to Miles Thatcher @Simon Kincaid
She quickly grabbed a pen and started writing a response. Angry at this 'Miles' person. However, she had to ask someone the difference of 'muggle-born' and 'pure-blood'. Then, she finally understood the concept.
My dear Miles,
Miles, Miles, Miles... Who exactly do you think you are? Well, extremely rude.
Everyone knows that life isn't fair. Since one is born, everyone knows. If you are trying to teach me a lesson, I'm not interested. Besides, I did not 'abandon' them, absolutely not. I did not fail. You are also stating, in both cases, that I failed, what am I supposed to do? Leave my school, and stay in the middle of the way home? Obviously not. That's what an idiot like you, would do.
As for pure-bloods and muggle-borns. There isn't a difference, really, we're all wizards or witches, we all have magic, it's stupid that some are called muggle-borns, and some are called pure-bloods. I'm starting to understand the concept. Pure-bloods are those who have two magical parents (that were born wizards), and muggle-borns are those who weren't born to wizards, but were born with magic. It's quite stupid, because we are labeling ourselves, we are all wizards, so why? Might I ask.
Congrats on playing Quidditch! However, it's kind of a stupid sport. You get on your broom, grab a ball and then score, then someone hits you (a beater), then there's a seeker, who seeks a tiny metal ball (oh wow! So interesting!) Besides, broom racing, is much better, in Quidditch you spent hours playing, but broom racing is so much quicker.
I miss you not,

Another letter for @Hannah Blossom's inpc, Lorelai Diniz
My Dearest Lorelai,
First and foremost, if you knew since BIRTH that life isn't fair, then 1) you would have been the most brilliant child to ever grace the Earth in all of forever. That means before you could even hold an object in your hand, before you could even walk or mutter a word, that you already knew an abstract concept such as a philosophy of life. I'm glad your letter came to me, for I am in the company of such greatness.
I'm glad that you could grasp the concept of blood status, although, now that I know of your brilliance I cannot say that I doubted it. I shall doubt nothing now when it comes to you now.
Except perhaps your perception of best broom sports - as it is wrong.
As you attempted to describe the sport, quidditch sounded much more complex and much more enjoyable than broom racing, which was only described as "better" and "quicker." I suppose not everyone can handle a challenge.
Perhaps they don't encourage such skills at Wizard Castle. Not much on creativity with that name either, huh? The name of your school is derived from the Portuguese words "Castelo" meaning castle and "bruxo" meaning wizard, therefore literally translating to Wizard Castle.
Still not missing you,
Miles

My dear, dear Miles,
You have got a point. That is not true. No one knows that life isn't fair when they are born. However it is something we learn from a very young age, perhaps one of the first things we learn, maybe not by our parents, but we do observe examples.
Yes, except greatness from me. I'll do the same for you mister. (You are so smart! I've never met someone as smart you!)
It's not wrong, to me, to you, it might be, but it all depends on the point of view. But do believe me, broom racing is so much better.
Obviously you cannot handle the challenge of broom racing. If I am being honest, what you said is true, but not everyone can handle a good challenge, like broom racing. Broom sports are fun, but not all of them, like for example.. Quidditch is a horrible broom sport, I can't actually believe that you are in your school's Quidditch team. It's just (what's the right word) so bland, boring and I still ask myself why do people play it.
The name might not be creative, but it's a wonderful school, you should come here someday, also what school do you go to? You have not stated the name yet. But, of course, Castelobruxo is much better than all other wizarding schools, and muggle schools, too. All schools combined don't beat Castelobruxo. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I really don't care.

My Dearest Lorelai,
Oh, we most certainly learn that life isn't fair from our parents - at least some of us. It's probably about the only thing I've learned from mine. Let's just say they're not very.....parental. I mean, just because you give your genetic DNA to make a person doesn't completely make you a parent, you know? Mine are something and I cannot say that something is very positive.
If we're ever within the same vicinity of one another, we should challenge one another to a broom race and a quidditch one-on-one to see if the other learns any sort of appreciation for the other's sport. There's always quadpot too, although that's an American thing and they probably don't have that at Wizard Castle.
I suppose right there I divulged to you my school - Ilvermorny. I will state that I've heard good things about your magical creatures course of study and some of my school's upper students like to try and get in to an exchange program for that. Eh. Magical creatures. They're overrated.
But I have also heard that your Herbology courses are quite nice so there's that going for it. Don't ever compare a wizarding school to a muggle school though. The worst wizard school would beat the best muggle school, hands down.
I feel bad for the muggles that don't have magic. Such a shame and not much of a life.
Not really caring if you write back or not,
Miles

My dear, dear Miles,
Maybe you learned that life isn't fair from your parents, but some people (as you stated), don't. That's true. Well, it makes them parents, however. If they don't take care of you, they are still your parents. Except, if you abandon them, or they abandon you.
Yes, that would be a great idea. I accept that challenge. Excuse me? Quadpot is played in North America and South America. They do have it at Castelobruxo for your information.
I've come up with a theory, a while ago, to why Ilvermorny is called the name. Simple: It's possible that it's from the French words for "dreary green island". Yeah, no one knows the real meaning, but that's what I think. So, I guess I'll just call it dreary green island.
I've heard that dreary green island is a pretty democratic school. What can I say? Democracy is just (how can I say this in a nice way?) boring. Magical creatures are most definitely not overrated, but they are also not underrated.
Yeah, herbology is quite nice. Well, duh, magical schooling is so much better than regular schooling.
Me too, but they have other things to enjoy.
Really don't care, still don't miss you,

My Dearest Lorelai,
Dreary Green Island and Wizard School - maybe it makes both our schools a little inadequate, or at least unoriginal to say the least. What would you name a wizarding school if you founded it? Think about it and let me know. It's not an easy task. My first inclination was Thatcher's School of Magic, but that sounds so basic. Thatcher's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry - slightly better, but not by much. Despite my pureblood status that can be tracked to centuries upon centuries, Thatcher is not that prestigious of a name. Hmm, The Wonderous World of Wizardy. No, that one sounds more like a theme park. Definitely not that one.
In all honesty, if I founded my own wizarding school it would be a nature based wizarding school. We would focus on herbology and not only how plants can be used to aid the magical world but also how we in the magical world could help plants thrive. No more of this destructive nonsense that happens now. We're so intertwined with nature and yet humans, magical and nomaj alike like and harm nature, take advantage of it, use it and abuse it. It's maddening and its saddening.
Okay, so maybe something like Evergreen Magical Academy, Avondale Forest School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, or Hazelwood Grove School of Magic. I'd name it after the forest or the mountains that surrounded it. Maybe one of the names of the rivers.
Eh, slightly curious to see what you'd name a wizarding school,
Miles

Yet another letter from Lorelai Diniz to Miles Thatcher @Simon Kincaid's iNPC
My dear, dear Miles,
Yes, it does make the names of our schools inadequate. What would I name a wizarding school if I owned one? Well, first of all, I wouldn't enjoy owning a school, but if I did have one I would name it something related to healers, instead. I'd like to be one.Or, perhaps something related to potions. It would be difficult to run any type of school, don't you think? Well, if you do plan on running a school.. Good luck. You'll need it. A lot. Trust me.
So maybe something like Potions & Healing Academy of Wizardry. Eh. Quite basic I'd say. Maybe something like B.A.H.A.M. (Brewing and Healing Academy Of Magic). I don't really know how to come up with a good name, but it would be something like that. I would probably name it after the subjects the students excel in. Like potions
Also, I would like my school to have houses like dreary green island and Hogwarts. Something like that. I wonder what would sort my students though. Maybe they would sort themselves? Nah, one school would be too popular and all students would want to be in it. I would like to think that it would be a quiz that students would think or something. However, a quiz would take a long time to be responded. Would you like to have houses at your wizarding school.
I wish Castelobruxo had houses. What house are you? I think I'd be Horned Serpent or Ravenclaw. Maybe Wampus or Slytherin.
Curious to see if you'd like to have houses at your school,
Lorelai

My Dearest Lorelai,
You mean Wizard School doesn't have houses? How do they maintain control? Wouldn't it be much harder for students to make the school's quidditch team? It sounds to me as if Wizard School has much chaos within it.
I like our house systems. We have four, just like Hogwarts has only ours are better and founded off of Native American customs that connect more to the world around us, instead of just boasting some founders names like the British school of magic.
I'm in the Thunderbird house which favors adventure. It's a perfect fit. I'm always up to be anywhere but cooped up in a room somewhere - like now. Your owl finding me instead of your mother has actually provided me some relief on this break and provides a wonderful escape from being shut up with my parents. We did have a charity gala that we attended and I skipped out on. Other than that, it's been conference after conference and I'd rather they had let me stay at home with my grandmother.
Crazy how one can be old enough to be betrothed and yet not old enough to stay on their own. I'll never understand my parents.
If I was in Hogwarts, I'm pretty sure I would have been placed in Slytherin, with Gryffindor being the second. I surely don't fall into Ravenclaw and only occasionally would I have Hufflepuff qualities. I attended their Summer Camp once and have visited there a couple times. It's not too terrible of a school. Are you planning to go to the Summer Camp this Summer?
Pick up that quill and write back,
Miles
