I didn't find anything saying it specifically, but i think year advancement is in real time. The school year all current first years are in is 2018-2019, so i assume in the spring, our characters can advance into 2nd year for the 2019-2020 year.

The site seems to have kicked off in February of 2018, so any people that registered before a certain date cutoff, I think, got lucky and were promoted. I don't see any third year characters so I assume that it's because the site hasnt been around long enough for any character to progress that far.

Going off the homework info, there is a minimum number of classes in the report card that you need to pass before you can advance when the time comes as well, although I haven't seen the homework module yet.

Correct, H.io opened in February 2018. The French mother site has been around much longer and has all years. The cutoff to become a 2nd-year student was registering before July 1, 2018. Advancement is in real-life time.

To unlock homework you need 20 posts and 10 full days on site.

@Evie Green you are registered as a first-year here. You have a registered encyclopedia but will also need to complete one homework in every first-year subject to advance if you haven't already. Then I think you can just owl the Headmaster and ask to be moved up.
