It had been a struggle for many in the past for those who found themselves to be different. But now in 2023, those who truly find who they are and who they want to love are celebrated throughout the world. Whether you are Pansexual, Bisexual, Lesbian, Gay, Queer, Intersex and more, we want you to celebrate who you are at Hogwarts' Pride Day celebration as a part of Pride Month!

The courtyard has been transformed into color. At the entrances of the courtyard, there are rainbow balloon arches as a warm welcome. The courtyard is sectioned off between three areas-- each having their own activity for students to participate in.

Spoken Word Poetry
When entering the courtyard, you look straight ahead to find a stage at the far side. The stage is white and the background of the stage are different flags that represent the many types of identities. On the stage is a single microphone. On the right of the stage there is an 6-foot table with paper and pencils. Here, will be where students can create their own poetry and share it with their community.

Pride Beading
You now look to the right to find two 8-foot tables lined with bowls in the middle. Inside the bowls are many styles of beading and color. Here, you can bead your very own Pride bracelets that you can share with a friend, trade with others or keep for yourself. Feel free to represent your identity with the colors. Flag pictures are placed on the table to provide reference of what colors represent what identities.

Paint & Sip
Lastly, when you look to the left, you find a series of canvases. There are a total of 10 stand-up canvases slots with colorful paint. Nearby is a circle table that has a bowl with ladle full of Butterbeer with plastic cups on the side. This paint and sip activity is to bring out your most inner of feelings and self onto canvas.

Where you end up going first is up to you.

------

Maya had just finished setting up the beads, making sure that the style and color of each bead was balanced between the two tables. She wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Thankfully, she wasn't alone in planning and setting up this wonderful activity for the children. She was partnered with Mateo, providing a great team effort of getting things done quickly.

When the last finishing touches were made, she looked up to see that students were walking in, taking in the colorful atmosphere of the not-so-colorful school.

"Welcome!" she said, loudly. Maya then took a step back and had each student explore and choose what they want to participate in. She would be around if need be for any questions, comments and concerns.

Mentioning Professor Galim; open to interactions
𝓟ride and Professor Galim: two of Amadea's favorite things, so of course she was going to make an appearance at the Hogwarts Pride Day celebration. When she stopped to think about it, Amadea had trouble thinking of many of her friends and peers that weren't part of the LGBTQIAP+ community. She loved how open and accepting Hogwarts as a community was, and she was giddy to celebrate with her friends. As Amadea stepped into the courtyard, she let out a small gasp. It was barely recognizable, with giant rainbow balloon arches beckoning her inside and three separate areas each with their own unique activity. As she inspected each activity set-up, she felt another jolt of excitement rush through her. Fostering her creative side was something Amadea often let fall to the side when it came to the amount of schoolwork she had to complete. There was often not enough time in a day to go to class, complete her homework, eat meals, socialize with her friends, and find some time to have a creative outlet. Now, she had the opportunity to let out her artistic side with the added benefit of receiving House Points for it. Amadea's eyes quickly locked on the canvases on the left side of the courtyard. Perhaps she would paint something today.

When Amadea was younger, she spent a lot of time doodling and creating her own mini 'masterpieces.' She and her sister, Katerina, would hang up their drawings on the walls in their apartment in London, complete with museum labels detailing the mediums used to create the art and the meanings behind each piece. They would then print out museum passes for their parents and give them exclusive gallery tours. Amadea couldn't help but smile at the memory; her heart swelled thinking about the love of her family and the memories she would hold close to her heart for the rest of her life. She began walking over to the painting section, still feeling nostalgic and wondering where the feelings had come from. Perhaps it was because the event was being hosted by one of Amadea's favorite professors, Maya Galim. Professor Galim had been a pivotal support system for Amadea back in her third year when her father had passed away and she had fallen off track with her schoolwork and her general sense of identity. Every time Amadea was in the presence of the professor, she couldn't help but feel intense gratitude.

Another contributing factor toward Amadea's nostalgia was thinking about the previous pride events she had attended throughout her years at Hogwarts. This would be her first Pride Month uncloseted as the proud pansexual she was; the thought alone made her want to beam with pride. Last year, she had known deep down in her heart that she was not straight, but something about truly wrestling with that aspect of her identity was something she was not yet prepared for. This year, though, things were different and Amadea was happily out and proud. A large portion of her acceptance of her sexuality came from the biggest role model in Amadea's life: her older sister Kat. Being home last summer had truly been formative for Amadea, being able to see her sister's comfortability with her sexuality and fostering enlightening conversations that forced Amadea to unravel her own complicated emotions. It was always bittersweet thinking about Kat, Amadea thought, because she knew that Kat would never quite understand the world Amadea found herself part of now. Kat had always been Amadea's closest friend and confidant and while their bond would always be incredibly special to Amadea, things had shifted since Amadea began attending Hogwarts. As a Muggle born student, her family could never quite grasp the concept of living in a wizarding world, and this fact had put a solid gap in the sisters' ability to relate to one another. Without even considering the fact that Amadea spent the majority of her time at school, away from her sister, it made sense that the two girls had grown apart. Still, Amadea would always love her sister.

As Amadea scanned the paint colors in front of her, she decided to let Kat be her muse. After all, it only seemed right that the person who was most pivotal in Amadea's acceptance of her sexuality be the inspiration for this painting. Amadea grabbed a brush and some vibrant purple paints. She would draw violets and primroses, she decided, since those were the flowers related to Kat's birth month: February. Plus, purple was Kat's favorite color. Smiling to herself, she began to trace out a landscape scene, mountains in the background looking down on a valley filled with beautiful purple flowers. As she painted, she looked around to see what other people were doing; she hoped that they were enjoying the pride event as much as she was.

Foster smiled as he walked in to see such a beautiful display. He had recently begun transitioning himself and definitely needed this to up his mood. Not that he wasn't getting support from his friends and classmates of course.

Foster previously known as Harper Jordan, found his way over to the table that held the beads. He knew exactly what he was going to make. A bracelet with the colors of the transgender flag. The smile on his face never faded as he grabbed small handfuls of light pink, light blue, and white beads to start his bracelet. He then found a seat and carefully began his work on the bracelet. He wanted to make sure that it was perfect and he would take his time on it.

He would love if someone came up to chat with him about what he was doing or what he was making. He had been working on his confidence and was trying to put himself out there. He looked around to see if there were any familiar faces that he recognized in the crowd of other students that were rushing in. He hoped that there would be a lot of students that turned up. This was something that was near and dear to his heart and he was glad that the event was being held.

With days getting warmer and summer holiday coming in the way, June definitely is a quite exciting month for Rita, since it was month of color, sharing, and understanding, it was the pride month! Rita still vaguely remembered the pride month last year, where the then first year Hufflepuff with short straight black hair and yellow glasses made posters and some other crafts related to the pride month such as some pride flags while enjoying some snacks like rainbow cupcakes. Even though the black-haired Second Year Hufflepuff first-string beater technically did not really belong to the LGBTQA+ community since she still firmly believed that she was a straight ally and was very likely to stick with that identity in the future, and even though she still admitted that she did not fully understand what each gender identity means and the color and flag corresponding to each identity as an 13-year-old, she would always understand those gender differences and support all genders. Afterall, love is love, regardless of gender, and that was something Rita always believed. So, when Rita found out the notice about this year`s pride month event, she did not hesitate to head to the courtyard to participate in the event.

When Rita arrived at the courtyard for some pride month celebration, she found out there were not people in the quite popular meeting place, and there were 3 types of celebrations: pride bracelets made of colorful beads, poetry writing, and canvas drawing while drinking butterbeer. The black-haired Second Year Hufflepuff beater decided to start her day with pride bracelets making, since it seemed to be one of the easiest tasks and she was not that confident with her poetry writing and drawing skills, although butterbeer was one of her favorite drinks. Since she did not really have any color that she identified with, Rita decided to use beads with all kinds of colors to make some colorful bracelets and share with her friends. And there really was a wide of beads in all shapes and sizes and of course in all kinds of colors, red, yellow, purple, blue, pink, green, basically all colors of rainbow and beyond! Or, basically in all colors the black-haired Second Year Hufflepuff beater could ever think of! Rita quickly grabbed some colorful beads as well as some threads to put the beads together and began working on the colorful pride bracelets. After a short while, Rita had finished the bracelet, and just could not wait for her friends to also come to the pride month celebration activity so that she could share her colorful bracelets with her friends. Rita believed there must be more people coming to the pride month celebration very soon, since it must be a popular errand for students to attend. Afterall, it was an important activity for those students who identify with different genders to open up and for everyone to share their understanding and support for the LGBTQA+ community. So, after Rita finished with her pride bracelets made of colorful beads, she just sat on the table and wait for her friends to show up at the courtyard and celebrate this essential and fun activity with her.

Axyen recently learned of a Pride Day event hosted by the Muggle Studies professor, Professor Galim. Being the curious boy Axyen was, he decided to go to his favorite place that never failed to provide information when it was needed. The Library. Axyen did some research about Pride Day which helped introduce him to LGBTQ+ community, he soon got the whole idea of it and was not coming unprepared, although Axyen loved the entire idea of finding your identity, so Axyen came to the courtyard where the event would be taking place.

Axyen noticed the Pride Beading area. Axyen instantly got to work, making sure it was perfect, Axyen wanted to make sure it looked more than Acceptable, more than just Exceeding Expectations, it needed to be Outstanding. Nothing less. Axyen was taking his time, slowly making sure the beads were in perfectly, he didn't know how to decorate it, but it looked nice at least.

Axyen then went over to the Paint and Sip area. He was too nervous to try Butterbeer right now, but he was still going to paint. He began painting himself, near on the top of a mountain, with a rainbow and a few clouds. Axyen wanted to make the rainbow look cool, so he put clouds near the end and that was the painting. In the bottom right corner of the painting was his name.
Axyen Dragonclaw - 2023.
Axyen smiled, the event was fun and a bit of time passed too. Axyen realized there were a few more things that he could, well actually it was just one last thing he could do, but it was the thought that counts, right? Axyen decided to do the last activity, the one he thought he'd avoid, but the event was so fun it was impossible to resist.

Axyen went over to the Spoken Word Poetry area. Axyen took a deep breath, he didn't want to speak in front of a ton of people, mostly because he was just shy and usually nervous, but in front of a crowd Axyen wouldn't know what would happen. Axyen also wasn't good at poetry at all, but he was alright at being motivational. Axyen thought of a quote that would still relate to Pride Day. Axyen had an idea, he grabbed a paper and a pencil, and he tried his best to make his handwriting neat as his handwriting was typically messy. He finished writing and left, however, anybody who saw the paper and read, the paper would say.
"The best manager for your life is you,
Don't let anyone take that away from you."

Madi was in awe as she walked into the Hogwarts Pride Day. It was full of color and life, it was beautiful and welcoming. She was glad she finally got to attend a Pride Fest. She had always wanted to go to one.

Madi was glad Professor Galim, the Muggle Studies teacher, had put this Pride Day festival on. It gave a chance for students to connect to each other and find people that understood them.

As Madi looked around, she realized there were three activities she could do. She could paint while drinking butterbeer, she could make a bracelet, and she could write spoken word poetry and then read it.

It took a while for her to decide, they all interested her. She decided on the painting. Although she rarely painted, and didn't know if she could do it so people would know what she had painted, she was going to try.

She walked over, and chose not to have any butterbeer, went to first available canvas she saw. Not sure what to paint, she sat there thinking.

She picked up her paintbrush and dipped it into some green paint. She began painting a forest, with a clear blue lake in the center of her painting.

She picked up a smaller brush and began to paint a tiny little person looking up at the sky. Then, she painted a rainbow. The color stripes weren't very even and a little messy, but she thought they looked okay, which was surprising for her, seeing as normally when she messed up on something, even a little bit, she would go back and work on it until it was finished.

Then, she went to the beading area. She wanted to make a bracelet for her little sister, Analia. Analia was still too young to wear a bracelet without it being a choking hazard, so Madi intended to give it to her when she grew older.

She began adding silver beads to her bracelet, pulling them to the side. She then added seven beads, all in the order of the rainbow. And then added more silver beads to the other side.

This time, she kept working on it until it was perfect. Once she was done, she tied the ends together tightly so the beads wouldn't come out. She decided not to go to the spoken word poetry activity, not wanting to read whatever she wrote out loud.

As she left the Pride Day, she thought about everyone who had come to show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community and the people that belonged to it. She was once again glad that Professor Galim had done this event.

The idea that Pride Day was celebrated at Hogwarts made Astoria excited! This was an opportunity for her to learn about so many different people at Hogwarts and even make some new friends! She had heard about the event taking place at the Hogwarts Courtyard and she thought it couldn’t have been a more perfect place.

Astoria wanted to dress a little bit more for the occasion, so she arrived at the Pride Day festival dressed in a rainbow summer dress and on her head, she wore a floral rainbow crown. Extravagant? Why not? It’s Pride Day! Astoria’s family didn’t discuss much about who an individual loves, but her parents always taught her that love was love and that’s what mattered.

Entering the courtyard, she noticed all the different things that she could have done to enjoy the festivities. She noticed the painting that she could do to spruce up her living quarters of the Hufflepuff girl’s dormitory but when she noticed that there were tables that consisted of pride beading, she had to jump on it. Astoria loved arts and crafts and she wanted to make herself a beautiful bracelet. She always gave to others, but she wanted to make something for herself. Maybe after she made something, she would be able to create something for her friend @Simon Tilia.

When she approached the table, she saw two other students. She turned to the two of them (@Foster Jordan, @Rita Su) and asked “Hi, can I sit with you?” One of them, the girl, looked to be familiar. Astoria had never really met her, but she could see the girl a lot in the Hufflepuff common room. The other was another student that she didn’t know of, but she was so open to meeting new people!

Astoria wanted to make a rainbow bracelet to match her outfit. Astoria looked at all the different colors present and she was happily overwhelmed with excitement. She went to the string and cut her some slack, then started over to the red-colored beads and started making her way down the rainbow colors. “This is great! I can’t believe that we can do these things!” Astoria said aloud, not bothered by those around her if they wanted to respond or join in. She looked around and saw some other stations that were up and running. Perhaps after she was finished making bracelets, she could try some painting. At this time though, she was enjoying herself making bracelets.

Mahlioz knew it was pride month, mostly because of her siblings, who were both part of the LGBTQ+ community and made it quite clear. But the Slytherin hadn't really been expecting anything big. Of course, there were a few rainbows here and there, and some people got more confident, and there was a sense of kindness in the air, she felt, but apart from that... well, she hadn't thought very much would happen. So she was completely flabbergasted to walk into the courtyard and find it covered in rainbows.

Not that she was diappointed. Almost no one knew, but Mahlioz, too, was part of the community. She was only out to Reltyl, her sibling. It wasn't really that she was embarrassed, but she never felt like it was very important, and there was always a chance where someone saw her differently and no longer wanted to speak to her or something. (Although that may have been a good thing, because she didn't like speaking to people). But she was always happy for the people who had the courage to come out publicly, to everyone.
It had been approximately two years since Mahlioz had heard of the word "pansexual". She had chosen it easily, because to her, it didn't matter, really, what gender someone was. She had never had a crush in her life, so she wasn't exactly sure, but she felt like she'd be a lot more attracted to people's personalities than to their genders.
Around six months after that, though, she found the word "asexual", and it changed her. Reading and re-reading the definition over and over again, and finally feeling like she fit somewhere; that was the absolute best feeling in the world. So although she didn't show it off, Mahlioz knew her identity, panromantic asexual, pretty well.

And here she was, in front of some sort of pride event, and she didn't know what to do. She wanted to be part of it, but she didn't want to show who she was just yet. She didn't feel ready. She felt like her identity was hers, and hers alone. And of course, she could participate in the event as an ally. But she had a dilemma. All of this pride and all of these flags and all of this joy in the air made her feel ecstatic. It made her feel proud and excited and she just wanted to lift up an ace flag into the air and wave it around and show who she was.

In the end, after a few minutes of just standing there and looking at all the rainbows, she decided to quiet her pride down a little bit and go by unnoticed. What she wanted to do was go the the poem section and write a poem and then show it to the world. What she wanted to do was paint a canvas with the colors of her flags and put them up on a wall somewhere. But what she did was make her way over to the bracelet-making station.
Quietly, she strung a few black beads onto a piece of string, and then cut it off really short, making a ring. It would have been nicer had it been black, grey, white and purple, but that was too obvious. She waas trying to stay subtle here. And she was in great need of an ace ring. So tying the two ends of the string together, she put the small black ring onto her right hand middle finger, and grinned.

Resisting the urge to go and draw a pan flag-inspired character on one of the canvases, she stepped back and leaned against a wall of the courtyard, and watched the people. She wondered how many of them were allies, and how many were part of the community. Glancing at the many flags around, she noticed one that caught her eye. She knew a lot of flags, but this one was new. It was symmetrical, starting with black at the top, and then going grey, white, green, white, grey and then black again. Mahlioz frowned, looking around in confusion. "Does... does anyone know what flag that one is?" she asked, pointing to it. Her shyness wasn't going to stop her from asking questions - she was too curious.

Rainbows. She couldn't help but smile as she entered the courtyard to see the colorful display of balloons and flags that was the Hogwarts Pride celebration. It was always fun to have that bit of color, especially when the color temporarily lost their house meanings in order to be a part of a really cool array of colors. Lea would take a moment to take it all in, glancing at the different flags with some mix of understanding and curiosity. A few she recognized, the rest she didn't. There would probably be some resources around to figure them out, though, taking note of the colors and stripes for later questions. For now, the Hufflepuff wandered around the different sections with a curious glance. The Spoken Word Poetry was intriguing except for the actual presentation part, which brought with it a nervous bubble that circled her heart. No, Lea would listen to others and applaud their works but it would not be her going on that stage. With a small nod, the girl walked away from that section to explore another, taking a paper and pencil with her as she left.

The Pride Beading was more intriguing, glancing between the flag references and bowls of beads to see what she could make. A simple rainbow bracelet would be nice, brown eyes gazing at an asymmetrical green to black flag before returning to the bowls to pick out her red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple- deciding to also add in the white, pink, soft blue, brown, and black- before putting them all onto the string in the proper order. It was rather simple, Lea had very little experience with bracelet making having only been gifted some before, but she liked how it turned out. Knotting the two sides together, the bracelet dangled from her wrist with a small clinking of the beads. She'd glance down at it with a small smile before stretching a bit and exploring the next section.

Lea's drawing skills were- not that great. Her last attempts during an errand had been a poorly drawn flag and she had hardly practiced since. But perhaps she could draw something... abstract. For now, the third year ladled some Butterbeer into her cup, sipping some as she returned to the canvases and mulled over a plan. It turned out that the plan was no plan, so she picked out a rather vibrant yet not neon pink, brushing it across the top of the canvas and watching as it dripped down the canvas yet thankfully not onto the table. It reminded her somewhat of a sunset, so she'd attempt to pivot in that direction with a softer pink to form some clouds and a bit of a gradient. Next she'd go for a green to make the land, kind of regretting the decision as soon as it was on the canvas. But no turning back now! Lea continued to work on her art until everything seemed to have enough color and looked generally like a sunset. She'd continue to sip her butterbeer and wait a bit as the paint dried, but once it seemed safe enough Lea would keep her canvas and bracelet when leaving the courtyard, offering a small thanks to the professors who set it up.

Mellani entered the courtyard, curious to know what was going on. It was then that she realized that it was another errand, this one for Pride Day. She didn't identify as a member of the community. Not to her knowledge, anyways, but that did not mean that she did not respect the community. She had immense respect for them, and she did not understand why some people thought that something was wrong with the pride community. Love was love, and you couldn't control who one fell in love with or not, but you could at least respect the people for going ahead and actually confessing their emotions for someone or standing up for themselves, couldn't you?

Mellani looked around, wanting to see some familiar faces. She noticed people making paintings and bracelets that revolved around pride, and decided to make a simples bracelet herself, with rainbow-coloured beads to make it pride themed. She added few butterfly and flower beads. She smiled as she put the bracelet on her arm, not caring if others would think that she was a part of the community, even though she was not. She didn't mind what others thought of her, because she knew what she was, and that was all that actually mattered.

After finishing her bracelet, she went to the paintings section, looking around and oftentimes appreciating the painters. She liked being able to appreciate others and make them feel stronger about their decision to express their pride in what they were, and how and who they loved. After this, she wondered what to do, and soon noticed a familiar face.

Mellani walked to Mahlioz and waved to her. Mahlioz was one of the people who had been with her at one of her worst moments in Hogwarts, and she was really grateful for this. Mellani waved to her. 'Hey Mahlioz!", she said, hoping that she was doing the right thing by approaching her.

Mellani heard Mahlioz's question and looked at the spot where she was pointing. Mellani had never seen that flag before either, and it did pique her curiosity. She shook her head, and looked around, wondering if anyone would answer their question. She knew about most of the pride flags, but she was at a loss for knowledge when it came to this one and that bothered her a great deal. She should know what this flag was. She wasn't going to beat herself over not knowing, though.
