Quidditch Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw - Spring 2023

This was it. Faye's first Quidditch game. And, was she excited? Well, it was hard to gauge from the seemingly perpetual sour look the girl wore all throughout the locker rooms, but as soon as she stepped out onto that pitch a smug grin appeared, her hazel eyes darting across the stands, seeing students who'd come to watch her (well, not her exactly, but she was a part of it, and that was good enough.) It felt exhilarating.

However, this good mood didn't seem to last. The second the first string headed off to the pitch and the second string were left to make their way to the bench, that same scowl materialised. Faye rolled her eyes as she walked over to the bench and sat down on the very end, inspecting and picking at her nails, paying no attention to her fellow teammates. So much for teamwork.

It was Charlie’s very first Quidditch game and of course she was actually playing. She had never really played before so this was her very first game. She had been told in the past by a certain Slytherin, [@Cassandra Ironwoods] that she would make a super beater. But the beaters were already super, and when the chaser spot was open, she took it. She didn’t really know how or what to feel, but she would do her best to block the goals.

She didn’t know that she would actually be playing in her first game, just sitting on the bench. Sitting on the bench seemed much more appealing than marching out with the other Ravenclaws. But Charlie was doing it. She took a big breath and tried to swallow the anxious feelings that tried to take her over.

In the role of Keeper when you attempt to block your goal, if your opponent somehow has advantage on attempting to score a goal, that is negated (they only have their normal single roll against you).

Amidst the cheering crowds, both the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff team marched onto the quidditch pitch. However, instead of feeling excited as most people would, Josephine felt sort of conflicted. This is her first Quidditch game, and it had always been her dream to be able to join Ravenclaw’s Quidditch team, so she should be been filled with expectancy. On the other hand, if she didn’t play well this time, everyone will immediately doubt her abilities as she haven’t had another chance to prove herself before…

She forced herself to push that thought away and looked around at her teammates and the audience. I won’t let you down! She promised silently inside her head. It was only then did she realize that as a second-string player, she might not even get the chance to play at all! This is even worse than taking the risk of embarrassing myself! All of a sudden, the only emotion she felt was disappointment, and everything that she had thought about just now seems hideous to her. As she walked over to the bench, she desperately hoped that she’d get a chance to participate today instead of being a substitute throughout the whole game, going completely unnoticed.

This was it, her first match as a first string chaser. There would be no more matches spent warming the bench, wondering if she would get a chance to even get into the air. They had a lost a few team mates since their last game, gained a few more. They would be missed. Anyone who joined their team was considered part of the Ravenclaw Quidditch family for life.

PARAGON OF HEALTH: Winnie is boosting Jorah and Edward, giving them an extra 10% of health.

It was another chance to show the glory of the flying badgers. Ethen doubted that their glory was ever in question but winning a good game of Quidditch was always a fine way to show the school that the flying badgers dominated the skies. After surviving his last game, Ethen was in high spirits with an additional competitive edge.

After getting into position, Ethen ran through his primary strategy one final time. His strategy was clear... catch the snitch.... While that might seem obvious, Ethen at times felt as though dive-bombing his opponents seemed like a more glorious way to make his mark. Although it seemed like a poor way to actually win the match. Focusing on just quieting his impulsive mind, Ethen took a deep breath and smiled as he got ready for the impending game

Atlas let herself lean back for a moment on her broom until the familiar cracking sound of her back. Laughing to herself she shifted back into her comfortable position by her goalposts. They had a small bit of momentum behind their team and Atlas felt a renewed competitiveness to keep Ravenclaw out of the goalposts. Already she felt focused and confident that she would be able to keep the Quaffles at bay.

That being said, she knew that the chaos of the actual game was just as likely to turn the game into an aggressive war to take people off their brooms. No matter what strategy Ravenclaw decided to take, Atlas believed that she would be able to adapt and counter them. Each of her teammates seemed in good spirits and she had all the faith in the world that each of them would be fighting just as hard as her for the victory.

Adjusting her grip on the broom, Atlas brushed some hair out of her face and cracked her neck a final time with a smirk. She was ready. Her eyes were locked on the Quidditch pitch before her and each of her teammates. Closing out the game with another win was just what Atlas needed to add a capstone to a pretty successful year. All that being said, she never once doubted the talent on the other side. She knew the potential win wouldn't necessarily be easy. But Atlas was confident that the Hufflepuff team would be able to outclass them once she got down to it.

Keepers Catch
10% chance to automatically block an attempt to score a goal as long as the Keeper is in the goal area. If an attempt to score has been blocked through this effect, the Keeper may as a free action hurl the quaffle at the opponent team in an attempt to injure a player of their choice (it would be recovered with a quaffle grab action) and treated like a bludger or pass the quaffle to a team mate. This must be declared by the Keeper if either of these free actions are to be utilized.

Evasive Maneuvers
Harder to hit on average, 10% on auto-dodge chance that anything that targets this wizard automatically misses. This is rolled separate from the attack roll.

Another day, another Quidditch game, and the anxiety still matched that of her first. They had gone undefeated this season so far, and Alma was excited to see her best friend lead them to another win. Avery’s rise to co-captaincy was something that Alma knew she would shine in.

She looked over to Avery, only to see her looking at the opposing team’s bench. Alma curiously followed her eyes and landed on none other than the Ravenclaw girl Avery had gone to the Fairytale ball with. Alma gave a knowing smile and waved to Avery, not even knowing if the Hufflepuff saw her. Time to get in the game.

This was Lavinia’s first match as co-captain of Ravenclaw and she was certain they were going to carry their momentum from their Gryffindor game where they absolutely dominated. The team as a whole was always changing members, but Lavinia was overjoyed to see the team continue to grow and perform well. There wasn’t a day of practice where she was disappointed in how they were playing and was always excited to see what each member would bring to the table. This game was no different, Lavinia was excited to see how everyone would preform.

If all goes to plan, this should be an easy win for Ravenclaw and Lavinia was looking forward to another summer match.
