Closed Wrong direction PV Madi McQuade

"So what you are saying is that creative nightmares are nightmares that your brain creates to target your specific fears, rather than nightmares that frighten most of the population? Yeah, I've had those." Madi analyzed, remembering moments when she had had "creative nightmares."
"Oh, crap. Sorry." Madi said once she realized she had led them the wrong way. She half laughed guiltily. "I don't really know my way around as well as I thought I did. But it's really beautiful here. This is a good place to hang out, you're right." Madi said, looking around at flowers and trees. The lake was in the distance, it's water shining against the sun. The grass was the brightest shade of green Madi had ever seen.
"You think you can climb that tree before I count to ten? Sure, why not. 1... 2....3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10." Madi smiled, not positive that he would be able to do it. He didn't look like the kind of person who could climb a tall tree in ten seconds. But to be honest, she wasn't the kind of person who could do that either. She was sure that Daniel could do it faster than she could, anyway. She didn't have much experience climbing trees.

"Do you mind if... I ask... what creative nightmares have you had?" Daniel takes off the question in a meek manner, a bit wary since he knew it was a personal question

The boy seemed genuinely worried and curious, these dreams had disturbed him a lot, but not that much, maybe it was the anxiety of being in a new place full of new people with new things.

But since coming to hogwarts he hasn't been able to sleep a wink without having a nightmare, even in his instant naps.

But he was afraid to tell a teacher about it and they would think he was crazy.

But those thoughts kind of disappear when the adrenaline kicks in his body, the boy starts running trying to hang on top of one of the trees and- he can't even get up straight, He puts a clubfoot on the root almost turning upside down, and when he reaches the tree he ends up slipping and falling to the ground, hitting with a loud noise, but he gets up cleaning the grass from his clothes

"I almost made it, count again" he seemed determined to climb to the top in less than 10 seconds, he takes off his school cloak and rolls up his sleeves, and starts climbing again trying to go faster. He finally manages to climb the tree, but he seems a little unsteady, holding on tightly "I DID IT!" It definitely wasn't before the count of ten, but boy still regards this as a victory.

"oh, uhm, okay." Madi said nervously. She hadn't expected Daniel to ask what some of hers had been. "So I've always been afraid of being surrounded by too many people. It sounds overwhelming. I had a dream once that a group of people were surrounding me, all asking me things, and I don't remember why, but I kind of drowned in the sea of people." Madi recalled. It had been one of her more pleasant dreams, not to say it had been exactly pleasant, but it was one she could remember.
"I've never really been super scared of these dreams, they just target each fear of mine, but in kind of a gentler way." Madi explained.
Suddenly, she watched Daniel zoom toward the tree and try to climb it. She counted down from ten. He slips and falls into the grass. But he gets back up and races toward the tree again and tells Madi to count again, so that was what she did.
"Good job!" Madi cheers. He didn't make it before ten, but at least he climbed it.
"Do you think I could do it? You know what, I'm gonna try." Madi decided, and began racing toward the tree. She latched her foot onto a root and started climbing. She made it halfway up the tree before she fell off.
"Slippery." She muttered, but was half laughing, covered in grass stains.

Daniel looks curiously at Madi as she explains some of the dreams she's had, Sort of trying to understand carefully

"It seems that you are afraid of talking to a lot of people, I understand, it must be complicated" he says trying to help a little "I already had to do a presentation in front of several children in my neighborhood, it was a mess!" He says laughing almost falling out of the tree for being distracted

"Some are scary, some are just annoying. Lately I've been having the scary ones for some reason" says Daniel hanging from the branch of the tree

He sees Madi trying to climb the tree and starts cheering her on "If you manage to get on the tree, maybe i can consider that you're not a nerdy smart pants" He says jokingly but when he sees her running towards the tree he starts screaming "Faster! Move your legs Madi! That way you won't be able to climb"

Daniel tries to reach out his hand to help Madi but when she slips from the tree he flinches looking down to see if she's okay "hey Madi you still alive?"

Daniel bends down a little still holding tight to the tree so he doesn't fall "If you're dead, blink twice!"

"Talking to people is terrifying, what if they don't like what I say?" Madi explained.
Madi watched Daniel hang on a branch. "But yeah, most of mine are just annoying." she shrugged. She'd never had a lot of actually really scary nightmares.
Madi heard Daniel cheering her on as she ran toward the tree.
"Aww you think I'm smart?" she yelled back. "I am moving my legs! That's how you run! And in case you were wondering, I don't have a lot of practice for it."
When she fell her head hit the soft grass. She started laughing.
"I'm excellent." Madi replied, still laughing.
She stood up and brushed herself off.
"Are you going to sit in that tree forever?" she looked up at Daniel, who was still in the tree she had failed to climb.
She then took off for the tree again, getting a sudden burst of adrenaline. She ran as fast as she could and managed to climb the tree. She sat on the nearest, sturdiest looking branch.
"Wow, I didn't think I could do that." Madi grinned, and began looking around. Everything looked different from just a little bit higher up.
"We've still got a lot of time before the next class starts. Are we gonna use that time to admire how I made it into this tree with no help?" Madi teased.

Daniel smiles but turns a little red, probably from anger

"Not in that way.. smart in the boring way!"

He lays down on the branch of the tree watching Madi from afar and when she starts running again to climb the tree, he stretches as if he is ready to help Madi up, but when he sees that she managed to climb the tree, Daniel moves away from the branch a little to make room for her

"Oh it's not that hard, I climbed up without help too" he says trying to piss her off a bit, and then he stretches out on the branch like he's on a bed

"I don't know, we have enough time to do whatever we want, we can swing from the trees, we can play in the waters of the river, if we want we can even do pranks" he says with a mischievous look.

He seemed to be silent for a few minutes thinking about what kind of mischief he could pull off.

"So many options, but I think I'm too bored for that" he turns a little from the branch, still feeling comfortable

"I've always wanted to go to the forbidden forest, but we'd be caught right away, I don't think we'd be good at hiding" the boy kept thinking.

"Excuse me? Smart in the boring way? There is no boring way of being smart." Madi said, pretending to be very offended.

"You just love making me angry, don't you?" Madi frowned. It did seem like most things Daniel said were intended to piss her off. She leaned against the trunk of the tree that was still going upward. It wasn't very comfortable, leaning against a tree.

"One of the first things that came to your mind was pranking people?" Madi laughed. "You seem like a bad influence." She'd never pranked anyone before, not exactly knowing how.

She went quiet, considering the options and trying to think of new ones. She couldn't think of anything.

"You don't think we'd be good at hiding? If you must know, I am the master at hiding. But you might not be, so feel free to worry!" Madi said.

She suddenly leapt down from the tree and grabbed a hold of the branch on the same spot she had just been sitting on. She barely managed to grab onto it, she had to jump. She wasn't short, she was about average height, but it was still far up. She began swinging back and forth. "The tree is really uncomfortable to sit on." She said.
