I waved at Donald as he arrived, never met him before! And grinned at Rai. "Yeah, going good. Did you hear about the squabble I got into with a fellow Gryffindork of yours?” I asked with a laugh. That was funny yet also annoying. “How’s it your end?” I asked. Ash walked in and I wrapped him in a hug before letting go.
When Cash walked in I looked at their snake. (If this were a cartoon, I would be looking at it with hearts in my eyes). But seeing as I don’t know what a cartoon is, I looked at the snake with wide eyes and a smile. “Woah. Pretty,” I whispered, fighting the urge to walk over to it. They walked over to us, a C band on their arm, huh wonder what that meant? They announced that they would be Captain (the band?) due to us not being a dueller and I agreed.
We all got our wands out and the "game" began. My blue-eyes boy cast Incendio on that Donald boy and I cheered as it hit, “Good one!” I said to him.
Cap then casted the smokescreen spell, shrowding the area into smoke. I squinted a little to try and get used to seeing through it. Never been in Fumos smoke before. I eyed Rai, for old times sake? "Flipendo!" I casted, aiming my wand at the Gryffindor. However it seemed as though she was anticipating it, perhaps, and to be fair, the smoke was getting into my eyes and it was hard to see. “Drats,” I said as the spell failed. Sorry guys it seemed as though I failed at all the sports I tried. I couldn’t hit a single bludger back in October and now I failed on hitting a simple spell at someone. I was slightly comforted when I saw that Mellani missed too.
One of the older years casted a spell at Cash but they evaded it, the commotion took my focus away from the battle field and the next thing I knew I was sent backwards! I let out a groan as I hit the floor, winded slightly. “Ow,” I whispered. Looking, I saw it was Rebecca and an angry look came upon my face. I glared at Loops, my head tiled down slightly as I stumbled to my feet. I clutched my wand in my hand, the pressure making my hand go white, and clenched my jaw. I heard Duvessa ask if I was okay. “Fine,” I responded in a clipped tone. My eyes only on Loops. She walked over to me and asked about the hospital wing. I looked away from Rebecca, my body relaxing, "No, I’m good thank you. No hospital wing yet," I replied, a smile now on my face to replace the look of fury previously directed at Loops. I turned my attention back at the duel just in time to avoid a spell casted by Raizel.
My heart was thumping as I looked over myself. Wow that was a lot. Got targeted twice— that I saw, I eyed Donald a little. It did seem like someone fired a spell close to me when I was looking at Cash. Merlin, I should focus next time!

It's clear that the team is off to an excellent start, and their steady growth was no fabrication. Ashley, however, was impressed by the bravery and energy that everyone put into casting the spell, and thus far, his team appears to be in the ascendancy. "Well done, team!" He expressed his satisfaction with everyone's performance.
His spell had been a success, which came as a relief to him because he was intent in achieving his objectives to cast successful spells and also anticipating to take down his rivalries consisting of the likes of Leveret Avery, despite that had to be worked for and he should not even remotely wind down. Having undergone the fact that life was just like rolling a die, the outcome of success is always 1, regardless of how many total prospects there can exist in the entire universe. The young man will strive to push himself tirelessly so that he can perform at his finest when the officials arrive because underestimating opponents was not something he would do. Without a doubt, the opposing team also put on a good show. Even though every wizard and witch in attendance gave it their all, there can only be one winner as the game goes on, and the young Ravenclaw boy fervently hoped that it would be him and his teammates.

Mellani's first spell had missed, if only by a bit. She sighed. So far, her team seemed to be doing pretty good and no one had attacked her yet, although she wasn't going to jinx that. She had tried to cast Incendio at Rebecca. This was the one place where she could cast such spells without the fear of instant detention. Dueling was pretty fun, come to think about it.
Not that Mellani enjoyed hurting others, but their reactions just made everything worth watching. Mellani was honestly surprised when she realized that three people had cast their spells at Lucian. He must have done something really bad to deserve all that hate.
Mellani contemplated her next action. With her first spell being a miss, she knew that she should aim better this time around. Mellani pointed her wand at her next target and cast the spell, hoping over hope that it would hit. Mellani was normally pretty good at casting spells, in spite of being a muggle-born, but this was pretty much the first time she was casting them at actual people who could dodge the spells. Normally, she was used to casting them at still objects, hence she rarely ever missed.

More people spilled in the duelling room, including a couple of familiar faces- namely Raizel whom she had met recently and Cash, a helpful older student during her first year when she was lost.
The rest were students she didn't recognize that all looked rather young yet they all seemed familiar with each other. Lea stood nearby, watching quietly as she swayed in place. It was clear the girl was currently out of her element with the other people here until teams were called and the match begun.
How easily the rhythm came back, chestnut wand already outstretched as the duel started. There was a little hesitance, though, a falter from her year long lack of official duelling and having four targets instead of two. Brown eyes scanned Team 1, searching for wand points aimed at her in case she needed to dodge. Only an aspen wand found her general direction, the one Lea had early on deemed the biggest threat on the other team. Unsure what Cash had planned, Lea quickly retaliated with a flick of her wand and a shout of "Obscuro!" Yet as her spell left her wand, a wall of smoke rolled over Lea's vision and snuck into her nose and mouth. Her other hand reaching up in an attempt to save her respiratory system proved futile as the third year coughed, throwing off her precision. It was a good thing no other spells flew towards Lea but she was certain that hers hadn't hit unless Cash had wanted it to. And wanting to get hit by a blindfolding spell was not a particularly common experience.
The other unfortunate side effect of the smokescreen spell was that Lea could no longer check on her teammates. Their successes and failures remained secret for now as brown eyes cast a sidelong glance into the gray air, but hopefully they had done well enough. Or at least better than coughing on smoke. With a sigh, the Hufflepuff twirled her wand in preparation for the next round.

Donald was frustrated at missing the opponent. The layer of smoke had made it hard to see the foe properly for aiming. One of the group had managed to hit the target, so that was something. He also seemed to be the only one who got hit on his team. A bit of flames. It wasn't that bad overall, but it was a bit warm and could hurt him more. It wasn't clear who aimed first, but three of his team all had copied each other on aiming for a target. A little funny, if the smoke had not made a lot of them miss.
"Ow.. why..." He muttered as he felt the burning against his robes, glaring over at the one who had sent it.
A duel was still a new experience for the Hufflepuff. He'd only ever used training dummies and the like so far, which wasn't nearly as fun. Those objects also didn't fight back, he noted, thinking of the fire burning at his robes. Careful consideration had to be taken on what to do next. There was a crowd against a crowd, and anything could happen, it felt with all this chaos. He hardly had even seen what that other Hufflepuff student had done. Some kind of spell that missed the target, he thought, moving back to focus for the next round.

"I'm doing okay. Glad that you are too!" Raizel called back to Lucian, listening as he told her about his encounter with another Gryffindor. "Now that's a story you should tell sometime." She can bet that the boy did something to annoy someone again if he got confronted by another person. Then again, it could be the other way around.
Once the duel had started, her eyes fell on Lucian first, seeing him looking at her. She grinned, already knowing that he's going for her. It sure brings back memories of that fight in the corridor. "Flipendo!" She casted at the same time that Lucian casted his and the same spell that he shot at her. Looks like the both of them had the same idea. Lucian's spell missed and so did her but she didn't mind that one and not to mention, the sudden smoke had thrown off her aim. "That was a nice spell!"
What she wasn't expecting was that her other teammates went for him as well and used the same spell based on the flash of light within the fog and their incantation. Wow, did he do something to them too? She wondered in her mind. One of those flipendo hit Lucian, making her wince. That's gotta hurt. She can't tell if Lea's spell hit but the spell she casted kind of reminded her of when they first met as well. Obscuro, that blindfolding spell. That was when she had stepped into the dueling club for the first time.
