Plant Exploration
Continuation from Herbology Office
Nancy smiled kindly at the girl and motioned her head out the door of her office and into the greenhouse. "We shall start out there then," The woman made her way around to the opposite side of her desk and out into the humid greenhouse. Nancy had always thought the first greenhouse was always a bit more humid than the others, but that might have just been her opinion since she spent the most time in this one.
After Rita would follow the blonde professor into the greenhouse, Nancy would point out a few temporary tanks sitting in the corner of the room. There were a total of three tanks, each about the size and looks of a large fish tank, although no fish lived in any of them. The first contained a plant that looked almost like seaweed, this plant was Fiara Zoydi. The second contained a different plant, this one looking like kelp, Vunnus Usua. The final plant was probably the most recognizable out of the three, looking almost like rat tails or green spaghetti, the Gillyweed.
Now all of these plants could be found in the Great Lake growing naturally, but Nancy was doing a bit of an experiment on the three by growing them all in salt water. She knew that Gillyweed lasted longer in salt water, but she was curious if anything would change with the other two plants. Glancing up at Rita, a grin slowly formed on the woman's face. "Do you remember what these plants are from your first year?" she questioned, her head tilted slighted to the side.

Plant Exploration
Rita closely followed Professor McLoughlin as the young and kind of pretty professor with short light-yellow hair instructed the Second Year Hufflepuff beater with short straight black hair to start in the first greenhouse with the young professor, left her office, and went into the first greenhouse, a place Rita was quite familiar with having spent a fair amount of time there with the former professor. Professor McLoughlin then pointed to three tanks containing three plants the black-haired Hufflepuff first-string beater remembered learning about in her first year, Fiara Zoydi, the one that looks like seaweed, Vunnus Usua, the one that looks like kelp, and the one that was the easiest to recognize, the Gillyweed. The blonde Professor then grinned and asked if Rita remembered the three plants the Second Year Hufflepuff first-string beater learned in her first year.
"Oh, I think I kinda remember them. I think the one that is easiest to recognize is the Gillyweed. As for the other two..." Rita replied with some hesitance as she was thinking and picking the fairly weird plant names from her memory, "I think the one that look like seaweed is called Fiara Zoydi, and the other one is Vunnus Usua, looking like kelp. Why they get strange names like that, may I ask? It that from Latin or something like that? Sorry, I am just curious!" After drawing a question to professor McLoughlin, the black-haired Second Year Hufflepuff beater showed a bright smile the blonde Herbology professor, hoping the young professor would not mind her curious questions. The Second Year Hufflepuff first-string beater did not know if those questions sound stupid or not, she was just eager to find out the reason behind the strange-sounding names of those plants. Hopefully, Professor McLoughlin would answer her questions patiently instead of blaming her to ask those stupid questions about the name of plants when the Second Year Hufflepuff beater just had to remember them.

Plant Exploration
@Rita SuNancy glanced at the plants in the water with furrowed brows, she honestly had no idea where the names of the plants came from. There was not much known on the plants in general which was one of the reasons she was doing this little test in the first place. "I have to be honest with you, I have no idea what their name means or where it comes from. I have found very little written about them and don't even know why they are considered a magical plant to begin with."
The two plants just looked like muggle plants, maybe they really were muggle plants and just a different species. There was the possibility that they were magical though and their properties had just not been found yet or had been lost and needed to be rediscovered. "So, what has been your favorite lesson so far?" The woman asked curiously. "It does not even have to have been one of my lessons but one from your past professors as well, I am still trying to figure out how to set up some of the lessons for future classes and I think the opinions of the students would be very helpful in that." Having not really taught before getting the position, figuring out what the students actually liked was going to be her main way of deciding how the classes went in the future because she did not want to start doing lessons that the students just did not find interesting.
